Although its application cases are extremely few, with the growing importance of rainwater utilization, introduction of rainwater management facilities in urban areas began to drawn keen attention. In urban areas also, plans to introduce rainwater management facilities in apartment complexes as infrastructure improving living environment, such as sewage treatment facilities are very urgently required. In order to introduce rainwater management facilities as infrastructure in an apartment complex, apartment complex cases that had introduced the facilities were reviewed first. In this study, a few applied rainwater management facilities in an apartment complex were surveyed(Infiltration barrel, Rubble porosity storage tank, Underground storage tank). As a result, problems in introducing rainwater management facilities in apartment complexes in Korea were identified.

  • This study has the purpose to reveal the differences of residents' using behaviors of living facilities at 3 complexes. The physical characteristics of the complexes have been investigated by a literature study and field survey. In addition, questionnaires were answered by residents on living facilities using behavior on community environment. The tools of analysis are frequency, percentage, and cross tabulation using SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Followings are the results of the study. 1) The developmental concept of 3 complexes maintained its initial identity. (1) The residence-oriented complex, having wider residential space, had better downtown access and more convenient facilities for daily life. (2) The residence-government mixed complex, constructed with an eco-friendly concept, had wider green and public service space and good downtown access but on the other hand, had less convenience facilities because of a short period from construction. (3) The residence-industry mixed complex, located in sub-urbanity and conceding more land for industries, had poor access to downtown but had more convenient facilities for workers' use. 2) The most frequently visited convenience facilities were shopping facilities, large or small, and banks, and activities were commonly done in the complex or adjacent area. This means it is recommended that the developer of the new complex locate convenience facilities in multi-core concentration types or street types rather than one-core concentration types.

As to the production period of the facilities, the materiality and the materials of the play facilities, we examined the safety estimation about them. And we drew up a plan which could build and manage the children play facilities improved the better. According to the installation place, the result of safety estimation, the safety of play facilities in Ga-Kyeong-dong apartment complex which built up after 1997 years was the most excellent, the play facilities of Sa-Gik-Dong apartment Complex which built long ago have showed even poorer in all items of safety estimation. According to the materiality of play facilities, though the safety of association play rod in the safety estimation was the most excellent, the safety of swing was the very poor. According to the materiality of materials, the association of wood, stainless in the safety estimation was the safest. Especially, even though wood is soft and kind materials, as it has a shortcoming, the practical use depreciates. If iron materials like stainless associates with wood, we have thought that they have the good effect of the practical use. We have judged that the distance of contiguity facilities and the safety of corrosion or rottenness within the item of safety estimation as a subordination variable were the poorest. The arrangement of play facilities and the selection of materials happened to these problems. And we have known that they should get accomplished the construction work to make a plan thoroughly from it early.

In evaluating environmental attributes, new facilities is better than the older ones. The small facilities appeared to be worse than those of the complex, and the large facilities are the worst in terms of environmental friendliness. In general, environmental friendliness turned out to be lower in the light of the facilities in the clustered area than those of the facilities of the other area.
