선박용 중속 디젤 기관의 로바스트 속도제어기 개발 (Development of the Robust Speed Controller for Marine Medium Speed Diesel Engines)

  • The ship's propulsion efficiency depends upon a combibation of engine and propeller. The propeller has better efficiency as the engine has lower rotational speed. This situation led the engine manufacures to design the engine that has lower speed, longer stroke and a small number of cylinders. With this new trends the conventional mechanical-hydrualic governors for engine speed control have been replaced by digital speed controllers which adopted the PID control or the optimal control algorithm. But these control algorithms have not enough robustness to suppress the variations of the delay-time and the parameter perturbation especially in low speed engine. In this study we consider the perturbations of the engine parameters as the modeling uncetainties and design a robust speed controller for marine medium speed diesel engine by means of $ extit{H}_{infty}$control theory having the central solution. By comparing the results of the robust speed controller with those of mechanical governor and PID controller, the validity of the robust speed controller under parameter variations is confirmed. The speed control of the experimental diesel engine of carried out using actuator which is composed of PWM signal generator and D.C servo motor.

  • 2.4㎓ 대역 무선통신망을 통해 서비스되는 WLAN과 Bluetooth시스템은 서로 동일한 환경 하에서 상호 보완적인 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 이러한 두 시스템의 상호 패킷이 시간과 가우시안 거리의 불확실성에 존재할 경우 시스템간에 충돌이 발생하게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 두 시스템간의 상호 공존의 방법을 도모하기 위해 상호 간섭의 영향을 분석하고자한다. 반송파 주파수 오프셋에 따른 신호대 잡음간섭신호에 의한 심볼 오차확률의 분석을 통해 두 시스템간의 간섭영향을 분석하였다.

  • This study addresses a method for 3D reconstruction using acoustic data with heterogeneous sonar devices: Forward-Looking Multibeam Sonar (FLMS) and Profiling Sonar (PS). The challenges in sonar image processing are perceptual ambiguity, the loss of elevation information, and low signal to noise ratio, which are caused by the ranging and intensity-based image generation mechanism of sonars. The conventional approaches utilize additional constraints such as Lambertian reflection and redundant data at various positions, but they are vulnerable to environmental conditions. Our approach is to use two sonars that have a complementary data type. Typically, the sonars provide reliable information in the horizontal but, the loss of elevation information degrades the quality of data in the vertical. To overcome the characteristic of sonar devices, we adopt the crossed installation in such a way that the PS is laid down on its side and mounted on the top of FLMS. From the installation, FLMS scans horizontal information and PS obtains a vertical profile of the front area of AUV. For the fusion of the two sonar data, we propose the probabilistic approach. A likelihood map using geometric constraints between two sonar devices is built and a monte-carlo experiment using a derived model is conducted to extract 3D points. To verify the proposed method, we conducted a simulation and field test. As a result, a consistent seabed map was obtained. This method can be utilized for 3D seabed mapping with an AUV.

Fault Diagnosis Method based on Feature Residual Values for Industrial Rotor Machines

  • Downtime and malfunction of industrial rotor machines represents a crucial cost burden and productivity loss. Fault diagnosis of this equipment has recently been carried out to detect their fault(s) and cause(s) by using fault classification methods. However, these methods are of limited use in detecting rotor faults because of their hypersensitivity to unexpected and different equipment conditions individually. These limitations tend to affect the accuracy of fault classification since fault-related features calculated from vibration signal are moved to other regions or changed. To improve the limited diagnosis accuracy of existing methods, we propose a new approach for fault diagnosis of rotor machines based on the model generated by supervised learning. Our work is based on feature residual values from vibration signals as fault indices. Our diagnostic model is a robust and flexible process that, once learned from historical data only one time, allows it to apply to different target systems without optimization of algorithms. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated by comparing its results with conventional methods for fault diagnosis of rotor machines. The experimental results show that the proposed method can be used to achieve better fault diagnosis, even when applied to systems with different normal-state signals, scales, and structures, without tuning or the use of a complementary algorithm. The effectiveness of the method was assessed by simulation using various rotor machine models.

뇌유래신경영양인자와 뇌 신경가소성: 비약물적 개입 (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor and Brain Plasticity: Non-Pharmacological Intervention)

  • Many psychiatric disorders are associated with brain functional dysfunctions and neuronal degeneration. According to the research so far, enhanced brain plasticity reduces neurodegeneration and recovers neuronal damage. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is one of the most extensively studied neurotrophins in the mammalian brain that plays major roles in neuronal survival, development, growth, and maintenance of neurons in brain circuits related to emotion and cognitive function. Also, BDNF plays an important role in brain plasticity, influencing dendritic spines in the hippocampus neurogenesis. Changes in neurogenesis and dendritic density can improve psychiatric symptoms and cognitive functions. BDNF has potent effects on brain plasticity through biochemical mechanisms, cellular signal pathways, and epigenetic changes. There are pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions to increase the expression of BDNF and enhance brain plasticity. Non-pharmacological interventions such as physical exercise, nutritional change, environmental enrichment, and neuromodulation have biological mechanisms that increase the expression of BDNF and brain plasticity. Non-pharmacological interventions are cost-effective and safe ways to improve psychiatric symptoms.

Radiation-hardened-by-design preamplifier with binary weighted current source for radiation detector

  • This paper presents a radiation-hardened-by-design preamplifier that utilizes a self-compensation technique with a charge-sensitive amplifier (CSA) and replica for total ionizing dose (TID) effects. The CSA consists of an operational amplifier (OPAMP) with a 6-bit binary weighted current source (BWCS) and feedback network. The replica circuit is utilized to compensate for the TID effects of the CSA. Two comparators can detect the operating point of the replica OPAMP and generate appropriate signals to control the switches of the BWCS. The proposed preamplifier was fabricated using a general-purpose complementary metal-oxide-silicon field effect transistor 0.18 ㎛ process and verified through a test up to 230 kGy (SiO2) at a rate of 10.46 kGy (SiO2)/h. The code of the BWCS control circuit varied with the total radiation dose. During the verification test, the initial value of the digital code was 39, and a final value of 30 was observed. Furthermore, the preamplifier output exhibited a maximum variation error of 2.39%, while the maximum rise-time error was 1.96%. A minimum signal-to-noise ratio of 49.64 dB was measured.

유기용매 내성 세균 Pseudomonas sp. BCNU106 균주에서 차별적으로 상향 발현되는 유전자군의 톨루엔 내성과의 연관성 (Differentially Up-expressed Genes Involved in Toluene Tolerance in Pseudomonas sp. BCNU106)

  • 유기용매 내성 세균인 Pseudomonas sp. BCNU 106을 10%(v/v) 톨루엔에 노출시킨 후 8시간 동안 random arbitrarily primed polymerase chain reaction (RAP-PCR)기법을 이용하여 메신져 RNA 발현 레벨을 조사하였다. 총 100개의 상향발현된 발현 산물 중에서 50개의 상보적인 단편들이 반복적으로 재현성있게 발현되는 것으로 확인되어, 이들을 클로닝을 하였으며 나아가 유전자 염기서열을 결정하였다. Blast analysis 결과, 톨루엔은 LysR family transcriptional regulator 그리고 RNA polymerase factor sigma-32같은 전사와 관련된 유전자들의 발현 레벨을 적응적으로 증가시키는 것으로 확인되었다. 그리고 톨루엔 스트레스 존재 하에서 inorganic ion 수송과 대사와 관련된 catalase와 Mn2+/Fe2+ transporter 유전자의 발현이 증가되었으며, 신호전달과 대사와 기능적으로 관련된 type IV pilus assembly PilZ와 multi-sensor signal transduction histidine kinase 유전자들의 발현 증가도 확인되었다. 한편 톨루엔 노출 후 탄수화물 수송과 대사와 관련된 beta-hexosaminidase 유전자발현 레벨이 증가하였다. 나아가 DNA polymerase III subunit epsilon, DNA-3-methyladenine glycosylase II와 DEAD/DEAH box helicase domain-containing 유전자들과 같은 DNA 복제, 재조합 그리고 수복에 관련성이 있는 유전자들의 발현 레벨 그리고 심지어는 ABC transporter 유전자와 같은 방어 메커니즘에 관련성이 있는 유전자들의 발현 레벨이 적응적으로 증가되는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 특히 10% 톨루엔 존재하에서 ABC transportor, Mn2+/Fe2+ transporter 및 β-hexosaminidase 유전자에 해당하는 RNA들이 괄목하게 유도되는 것이 확인되었다. 그러므로 유기용매 내성 세균 Pseudomonas sp. BCNU 106이 유기용매에 대하여 내성을 나타내는데 있어서 방어 메커니즘, 세포내 이온 항상성 그리고 바이오 필름 형성이 필수적인 것으로 확인되었다.

선형시스템 전달이론을 이용한 간접변환방식 디지털 래디오그라피 디텍터의 신호 및 잡음 분석 (Signal and Noise Analysis of Indirect-Conversion Digital Radiography Detectors Using Linear-systems Transfer Theory)

  • 간접변환방식 CMOS (complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor) 엑스레이 디텍터 시스템의 성능 분석 및 개선을 위하여 공간주파수에 따른 DQE (detective quantum efficiency)를 모델링 하였다. 모델의 검증을 위하여 마모그라피 W/Al 선질에 대한 modulation-transfer function (MTF), noise-power spectrum (NPS)를 측정하고 이로부터 DQE를 계산하였으며, 모델과 측정된 DQE는 전체 공간주파수 영역에서 서로 잘 일치함을 확인하였다. 검증된 모델을 이용하여 형광스크린 양자효율 및 MTF, Swank 잡음, 포토다이오드 양자효율 등 CMOS 디텍터 시스템의 DQE 성능에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 다양한 디자인 파라미터의 역할을 살펴보았다. 엑스레이 디텍터 시스템의 신호 및 잡음 분석에 대해 이와 같은 선형시스템 전달을 이용한 이론적인 접근법은 이미 개발된 의료영상시스템을 이해할 수 있는 유용한 도구일 뿐만 아니라 새로운 디텍터 개발 및 최적화를 위한 도구로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

풍력-태양광 복합발전 시스템의 인터넷 모니터링 (Internet Monitoring of Wind-Photovoltaic Hybrid Generation System)

  • 풍력 발전 시스템과 태양광 발전 시스템을 상호 보완함으로써 안정적인 전력 공급과 에너지 이용 효율의 향상을 꾀할 수 있는 풍력-태양광 복합발전 시스템에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 복합 발전 시스템을 효율적이고 안정적으로 운용하기 위하여 시스템의 각종 데이터들을 수집, 분석하고 파일로 저장하며 이를 인터넷을 이용하여 원격지에서도 모니터링 할 수 있는 시스템을 구축한다. 교류와 직류의 각종 전압, 전류들을 비롯한 풍속, 조도, 온도 등의 물리량을 측정하기 위하여 여러 형태의 변환기를 사용하였고 신호 조절 회로를 구성하였다. 데이터 수집 보드를 이용하여 컴퓨터로 데이터들을 저어 들였으며, 시스템 운용을 위한 서버 프로그램과 이를 원격지에서 실시간 모니터링 및 저장된 데이터들을 다운로드 할 수 있는 클라이언트 프로그램을 개발하였다. 측정된 데이터를 시간, 기상 등의 여러 조건과 연관하여 분석하였다.
