  • 기계 및 구조물의 안전성과 신뢰성 평가를 위하여 금속재료의 피로강도 데이터베이스 시스템을 구축하고, 이를 이용하여 금속재료의 피로수명 분포특성을 검토하였다. 종속도를 이용하여 구성한 관계형 피로강도 데이터베이스 시스템은 일련의 데이터 관리 및 해석작업을 효율적으로 수행하였다. 또한 Robust 방법과 보상오차함수(complementary error function)를 이용한 3-파라미터 Weibull분포의 파라미터 추정법 및 비파손확률를 검토하기 위하여 제안된 새로운 기준식의 타당성을 검토하였다. 조합분포모델을 이용하여 부하응력비와 Weibull분포의 파라미터 항으로 나타낸 피로수명 분포식은 탄소강의 P-R-N 특성을 해석함에 있어서 좋은 결과를 보였다.

Modified adaptive complementary sliding mode control for the longitudinal motion stabilization of the fully-submerged hydrofoil craft

  • This paper presents a Modified Adaptive Complementary Sliding Mode Control (MACSMC) system for the longitudinal motion control of the Fully-Submerged Hydrofoil Craft (FSHC) in the presence of time varying disturbance and uncertain perturbations. The nonlinear disturbance observer is designed with less conservatism that only boundedness of the derivative of the disturbance is required. Then, a complementary sliding mode control system combined with adaptive law is designed to reduce the bound of stabilization error with fast convergence. In particularly, the modified complementary sliding mode surface which contains the estimation of the disturbance can reduce the switching gain and retain the normal performance of the system. Moreover, a hyperbolic tangent function contained in the control law is utilized to attenuate the chattering of the actuator. The global asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system is demonstrated utilizing the Lyapunov stability theory. Ultimately, the simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

소실 복호 기반의 수정된 PTS 기법을 이용한 OFDM 신호의 PAPR 감소 (Reducing PAPR of OFDM Signals Using Modified Partial Transmit Sequences Technique Based on Erasure Decoding)

  • 본 논문에서는 RS(Reed-Solomon) 부호의 소실 복호를 이용한 수정된 PTS(Partial Transmit Sequences) 기법을 제안한다. 송신기에서 서브블록으로 분할된 RS 부호어의 체크 심볼의 일부만을 위상 가중치에 의하여 위상 천이 한다. 수신기에서 위상 가중치에 의하여 수정된 체크 심볼을 소실로 간주하여 수신 부호어를 복호한다. 이렇게 하여 송신기에서 선택된 위상 가중치에 대한 부가 정보를 전송할 필요가 없어진다. 또한 선택된 위상 가중치에 대한 추정 과정이 불필요하므로 수신기 복잡도가 감소한다. 부가 정보의 전송 에러나 위상 가중치의 추정 에러로 인한 성능 저하도 없다. 제안한 PTS 기법의 성능을 평가하기 위해 PAPR의 CCDF(Complementary Cumulative Distribution Function)와 BER(Bit Error Rate)을 기존의 PTS 기법과 비교한다.

Performance Analysis of an AF Dual-hop FSO Communication System with RF Backup Link

  • A hybrid free-space-optical/radio-frequency (FSO/RF) communication system is considered, with the help of amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying. We consider various weather conditions to investigate their effects on the system's performance. We begin by obtaining the cumulative distribution function and probability density function of the end-to-end signal-to-noise ratio for the AF dual-hop FSO communication system with RF backup link. Then, these results are used to derive closed-form expressions for the outage probability, average bit-error rate, and average ergodic capacity. The results show that the considered system efficiently employs the complementary nature of FSO and RF links, resulting in impressive performance improvements compared to non-hybrid systems.

OFDM 신호의 PAPR 감소를 위한 소실 복호 기반의 SLM 기법 (Selected Mapping Technique Based on Erasure Decoding for PAPR Reduction of OFDM Signals)

  • 높은 PAPR (peak-to-average power ratio)은 OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) 신호의 주된 문제점이다. 본 논문에서는 RS (Reed-Solomon) 부호의 소실 복호 기능을 이용한 수정된 SLM (selective mapping) 기법을 제안한다. 송신기에서 RS 부호화된 OFDM 데이터 블록에 일련의 위상 시퀀스를 곱하여 일부의 체크 심볼의 위상을 천이시킨다. 수신기에서 위상 천이된 체크 심볼들을 소실로 간주하여 RS 복호를 수행한다. 그러므로 가장 낮은 PAPR을 갖도록 선택된 위상 시퀀스에 대한 부가 정보를 전송할 필요가 없다. 또한 선택된 위상 시퀀스에 대한 추정 과정이 더 이상 수신기에 필요하지 않게 되어 복잡도와 성능이 향상된다. 제안한 수정된 SLM 기법의 성능을 평가하기 위해 PAPR의 CCDF(complementary cumulative distribution function), BER(bit error rate) 그리고 복호 실패 확률을 기존의 SLM 기법과 비교한다.

연직배수재(VDs)에 의한 오염지반정화 메커니즘 연구 (Mechanism of Soil Remediation in Contaminated Area Using Vertical Drains)

  • In-situ soil remediation mechanism through the vertical drains (VDs) is analyzed with numerical model as the error and complementary error function. Results from in-situ test and analysis indicate that the contaminant concentration ratio as initial one ( C/$C_0$) increases as the radius ratio ( r/R) increases from the injection well, and also increases as the depth ratio ( z/ H) increases from the top of contaminated area. The elapse time needed to attain $50\%$ and $90\%$ clean up level ($ t_{50},\;t_{90}$) increases as the radius ratio ( r/R) and the depth ratio ( z/ H) increase. As above results, the procedure of soil flushing in contaminated area using vertical drains makes progress from the top of injection well to the bottom of extraction well.

  • The inverse Weibull distribution(IWD) is a complementary Weibull distribution and plays an important role in many application areas. In this paper, we develop a Bayesian estimator in the context of record statistics values from the exponentiated inverse Weibull distribution(EIWD). We obtained Bayesian estimators through the squared error loss function (quadratic loss) and LINEX loss function. This is done with respect to the conjugate priors for shape and scale parameters. The results may be of interest especially when only record values are stored.

  • The inverse Weibull distribution (IWD) is the complementary Weibull distribution and plays an important role in many application areas. In Bayesian analysis, Soland's method can be considered to avoid computational complexities. One limitation of this approach is that parameters of interest are restricted to a finite number of values. This paper introduce nonparametric Bayesian estimator in the context of record statistics values from the exponentiated inverse Weibull distribution (EIWD). In stead of Soland's conjugate piror, stick-breaking prior is considered and the corresponding Bayesian estimators under the squared error loss function (quadratic loss) and LINEX loss function are obtained and compared with other estimators. The results may be of interest especially when only record values are stored.

Symbol interferometry and companding transform for PAPR reduction of OTFS signal

  • This paper presents methods for reducing the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) signal. These methods mainly consist of two operations: symbol interferometry (SI) and either 𝜇-law or A-law companding. SI spreads the data of one OTFS symbol onto all symbols and is implemented using a simple inverse fast Fourier transform operation on each OTFS symbol. During the second operation, the PAPR of the OTFS signal is significantly reduced. For our performance analysis, the complementary cumulative distribution function, probability density function, and bit error rate are illustrated through simulations performed in MATLAB. The performance is also analyzed using a solid-state power amplifier at the transmitter and compared with OTFS, 𝜇-law-based OTFS, and SI OTFS systems. The results indicate that the proposed OTFS system achieves a low PAPR.
