연관 규칙 마이닝에서 비교 기여 순수 신뢰도의 제안 (The proposition of compared and attributably pure confidence in association rule mining)

  • 데이터 마이닝은 빅 데이터에 잠재되어 있는 지식이나 패턴을 찾아내는 기술이며, 대표적인 기법 중의 하나가 연관성 규칙 마이닝이다. 이 기법은 지지도, 신뢰도, 향상도 등의 연관성 평가 기준을 기반으로 하여 각 항목들 간의 관련성을 찾아내는 데 활용되고 있다. 연관성을 평가하기 위한 기준으로 여러 가지 흥미도 측도가 개발되어 있는데, 그 중에서도 신뢰도가 가장 많이 활용되고 있으나 연관성의 방향을 알 수가 없다는 단점을 가지고 있다. 이를 보완하기 위한 측도로 순수 신뢰도가 개발되었으나. 양의 신뢰도과 음의 신뢰도의 값이 동일한 경우에는 이 측도의 값이 같아지므로 정확한 연관성 규칙을 발견할 수 없게 된다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위해 기여 순수 신뢰도와 비교 신뢰도가 개발되었는데 이들은 이들 측도들이 취할 수 있는 값의 범위에 대한 문제를 제외하고는 흥미도 측도로서는 매우 바람직하다고 할 수 있으나 값의 범위에 대한 문제점이 존재한다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 기여 순수 신뢰도와 비교 신뢰도의 크기를 동시에 고려한 비교 기여 순수 신뢰도를 제안하였다. 또한 예제를 통하여 그 유용성을 알아본 결과, 비교 기여 순수 신뢰도는 그 부호에 의해 연관성 규칙의 방향을 파악할 수 있는 동시에 그 값의 범위가 [-1, +1]의 값을 가지므로 행태적 해석이 가능한 것으로 확인되었다.

  • Confidence intervals for the population proportion in a double sampling scheme subject to false-positive misclassification are considered. The confidence intervals are obtained by applying Agresti and Coull's approach, so-called "adding two-failures and two successes". They are compared in terms of coverage probabilities and expected widths with the Wald interval and the confidence interval given by Boese et al. (2006). The latter one is a test-based confidence interval and is known to have good properties. It is shown that the Agresti and Coull's approach provides a relatively simple but effective confidence interval.

  • In this paper, various methods for finding confidence intervals for common odds ratio $\psi$ of the K 2${\times}$2 tables are reviewed. Also we propose two jackknife confidence intervals and bootstrap confidence intervals for $\psi$. These confidence intervals are compared with the other existing confidence intervals by using Monte Carlo simulation with respect to the average coverage probability.

  • In this paper, we utilize the asymptotic variance of $C_{pk}$ to propose a two-sided confidence interval based on percentile-t bootstrap method. This confidence interval is compared with the ones based on the standard and percentile bootstrap methods. Simulation results show that percentile-t bootstrap method is preferred to other methods for constructing the confidence interval.l.

  • In this paper, we reviewed thirteen methods for finding confidence intervals for he mean of poisson distribution. Bootstrap confidence intervals are also introduced. Two bootstrap confidence intervals are compared with the other existing eleven confidence intervals by using Monte Carlo simulation with respect to the average coverage probability of Woodroofe and Jhun (1989).

  • 1. Only 6 libraries(23.1%) among 26 surveyed libraries have a person or part in charge of continuing education. It means that the method to select education program and education object is systemless. The 19 libraries (73.1%) encourage continuing education of librarian. 2. Compared with the group who didn't receive a formal education, the group who received have a high degree in the grade of confidence, self-satisfaction and ability for job in Internet education case. And the group that received a formal education have also a high degree in the grade of ability for job in OA education case. Confidence, self-satisfaction for job in the carreer is significantly different according to the formal education in Internet education case and OA education case. Confidence, self-satisfaction and ability for Sob in the scholarship are significantly different according to the formal education in internet and computer OA education case 3. Compared with the group that didn't receive periodical education the group that received periodical education have a high degree in the grade of confidence, self-satisfaction for Job in internet education case. Confidence, self-satisfaction and ability for job in the carreer are significantly different according to the periodical education in OA education case. Confidence, self-satisfaction and ability for businessin in the scholarship are significantly different according to the periodical education in internet and OA education case. 4. Compared with the group that didn't receive self-education the group that received self-education have a high degree in the grade of confidence, self-satisfaction and ability for job in internet and OA education case. Confidence, self-satisfaction and ability for Job in the carreer are significantly different according to the self education in internet and OA education case. Constructing Simultaneous Confidence Intervals for the Difference of Proportions from Multivariate Binomial Distributions

  • In this paper, we consider simultaneous confidence intervals for the difference of proportions between two groups taken from multivariate binomial distributions in a nonparametric way. We briefly discuss the construction of simultaneous confidence intervals using the method of adjusting the p-values in multiple tests. The features of bootstrap simultaneous confidence intervals using non-pooled samples are presented. We also compute confidence intervals from the adjusted p-values of multiple tests in the Westfall (1985) style based on a pooled sample. The average coverage probabilities of the bootstrap simultaneous confidence intervals are compared with those of the Bonferroni simultaneous confidence intervals and the Sidak simultaneous confidence intervals. Finally, we give an example that shows how the proposed bootstrap simultaneous confidence intervals can be utilized through data analysis.

Choosing between the Exact and the Approximate Confidence Intervals: For the Difference of Two Independent Binomial Proportions

  • The difference of two independent binomial proportions is frequently of interest in biomedical research. The interval estimation may be an important tool for the inferential problem. Many confidence intervals have been proposed. They can be classified into the class of exact confidence intervals or the class of approximate confidence intervals. Ore may prefer exact confidence interval s in that they guarantee the minimum coverage probability greater than the nominal confidence level. However, someone, for example Agresti and Coull (1998) claims that "approximation is better than exact." It seems that when sample size is large, the approximate interval is more preferable to the exact interval. However, the choice is not clear when sample, size is small. In this note, an exact confidence and an approximate confidence interval, which were recommended by Santner et al. (2007) and Lee (2006b), respectively, are compared in terms of the coverage probability and the expected length.

A Study on the Change of Clinical Self-Confidence according to the Number of Clinical Dental Hygiene Practices of Students in the Department of Dental Hygiene - Focusing on scaling practices -

  • The purpose of this study was to provide the basic data needed to plan the effective teaching design of scaling education and to measure the changes in students' confidence in performing scaling according to the number of scaling practices. Scaling education is presented as a core basic hygiene competency of dental hygienists and evaluated as the practical competency of dental hygienists. This study selected 48 third-year students from the department of dental hygiene at S University in Asan, and analyzed data from completed participant surveys. The degree of "confidence in facing the subject in clinical practice," "confidence in applying hand instrument to the subject," and "confidence in applying ultrasonic instruments to the subject" was assessed on a five-point Likert scale. The difference in confidence was analyzed during five practice sessions. Each response was compared using frequency analysis, chi-square test, and repeated measurement ANOVA. Students who complained of a lack of confidence in the 14.6%, 25.0%, and 12.5%, respectively, in face-to-face practice, hand instruments, and ultrasonic instrument application responses. The more the practice was repeated, the more confident students were in all three categories, and the more statistically significant (p<0.001). As the number of scaling practice sessions increased, students' confidence in performing scaling also improved. In particular, the level of self-confidence was higher after the third practice session when compared to the first session. Therefore, it is necessary to design effective courses for teaching scaling practices so that at least three repetitive practice periods can be provided in clinical dental hygiene practices.

Balanced Simultaneous Confidence Intervals in Logistic Regression Models

  • Simultaneous confidence intervals for the parameters in the logistic regression models with random regressors are considered. A method based on the bootstrap and its stochastic approximation will be developed. A key idea in using the bootstrap method to construct simultaneous confidence intervals is the concept of prepivoting which uses the transformation of a root by its estimated cumulative distribution function. Repeated use of prepivoting makes the overall coverage probability asymptotically correct and the coverage probabilities of the individual confidence statement asymptotically equal. This method is compared with ordinary asymptotic methods based on Scheffe's and Bonferroni's through Monte Carlo simulation.
