The GDPR implemented since 25 May 2018 is common to all EU Member States and is legally binding. It is also important and legally valuable in that it takes into account the latest trends related to privacy protection. The purpose of this study is to propose a comprehensive review and improvement direction of the personal information protection laws in South Korea through a comparative analysis of EU GDPR and privacy related laws in South Korea. As a result of this study, the differences between the GDPR and privacy related laws in South Korea are Definition of personal sensitive information, Right to data portability, Data protection officer, Transfers of personal data to third countries, Supervisory authority, and Punishment, etc. The differences in these regulations were necessary to protect the rights and interests of data subjects and to properly handle personal information of personal information controllers. Therefore, based on the results of the comparative analysis of this study and suggestions on improvement direction of the law related to personal information protection, it is expected that it will contribute to the overall inspection and improvement of the law related to personal information protection in South Korea.

This is a comparative and analytical study which comprises of the analysis of the rules of the seller's liability for non-conforming goods of four legal systems under the CISG and the CESL. A purpose of this study is to examine all the rules as to, first, the concept and the nature of the seller's duty to deliver the goods in conformity with the contract, second, the contents of the seller's duty to deliver the goods in conformity with the contract, third, the time when the goods must be in conformity with the contract and the cases where the seller is exempted from his liability for non-conforming goods. Another purpose is to compare the rules of the CISG with those of the CESL, and to evaluate them in light of the discipline of comparative law. This is for the purpose of facilitating the systematic development and reform of one jurisdiction by any solution from the other jurisdiction found by the comparative study. In addition, this study provides legal and practical advice to the contracting parties when they intend to use one of those regimes in their contract as a governing law.

This paper compares the English language programs of two maritime institutes in very different parts of the world, South Korea and Belgium. It will show that although both institutes comply with the minimum standard set by the STCW Code issued by the IMO, course contents and requirements can vary greatly. Method of class delivery, choice of learning tools and testing will be examined to illustrate some of these differences. This paper will show that in order to train new seafarers in the best possible way that will fulfill the IMO mandate of Safer Shipping and Cleaner Oceans, continual review and development of course curriculum should be an ongoing process that focusing on encouraging cadets to communicate in a targeted, efficient and professional way within a nautical context. This paper will show by comparison the huge potential that the Korean Maritime English program has for positive change and growth.

This article provides an overview of the state of affairs of arbitrator disclosure obligations in Korea. It shows how Korean courts will analyze arbitrator conflicts and obligations through an evaluation of Supreme Court judgments and a case-specific analysis of the recent Oilhub case and provides a comparative perspective through a review of recent Japanese case law. Although limited to domestic arbitrations, it assesses the various grounds that courts consider when determining impermissible arbitrator conflicts based on relations with parties and when an award might be set aside as a result. With the 2016 adoption of the KCAB Code of Ethics for Arbitrators and its rigorous standards, great clarity has been brought to the landscape. The Code of Ethics marks a significant milestone in enhancing the robustness of arbitrator disclosures and guaranteeing the fairness, integrity, and transparency of Korean arbitration practice and law.

This study review about input data needing for noise mapping through the process for noise mapping to the Cheong-Ju on a middle-small scale city. Typically a technician know a input data in noise mapping but it is difficult to get the data. Even if we get the data, it is not regular type. So it take a long time to work out. This study is presented the guideline to solve this problems and indicate about getting data a scheme. and as it make a comparative study of the Europe case.

Unroofed coronary sinus syndrome is an uncommon anomaly, Unroofed coronary sinus syndrome is caused by incomplete formation of the left atriovenous fold, and it usually is associated with Left SVC. If it is not diagnosed, a residual reversed or bidirectional shunt will result, and its complications will reduce life expectancy. We experienced 3 cases of unroofed coronary sinus syndrome which combines TOF with PLSVC, partial ECD, primum type ASD. In case of Unroofed coronary sinus syndrome which combines TIF with PLSVC, preoperative diagnosis was not made. In corrective operation for TOF of this case, pump weaning was failed due to hypoxia and cardiac arrest, and he expired at operation room. At autopsy of this case, complete unroofed coronary sinus was found. In the other 2 cases, partial unroofed coronary sinus syndrome was found in operation field and corrective operation was performed successfully. This paper presents a review of small-to-medium-sized, pressurized-water-cooled nuclear power reactors whose major primary coolant systems are integrated into a reactor pressure vessel, the concepts categorized as Integrated Primary System Nuclear Reactors (IPSRs). Typical examples of these proposals of interest in this review are CAREM, SMART, IRIS and IMR, all of which are being aimed at the near term deployment. Emphasis is placed on thermal hydraulic aspects. A brief characterization of the IPSR concepts is made and comparisons of plant key parameters are shown. Discussions will follow for the core cooling under rated power conditions and natural circulation heat removal on the basis of the design data available in the public domain.

Due to advancements in power electronics and inverter topologies, the current controlled multilevel voltage-source pulse width modulated (PWM) inverter is usually preferred for accurate control, quick response and high dynamic performance. A multilevel topology approach is found to be best suited for overcoming many problems arising from the use of high power converters. This paper presents a comprehensive review and comparative study of several current control (CC) techniques for multilevel inverters with a special emphasis on various approaches of the hysteresis current controller. Since the hysteresis CC technique poses a problem of variable switching frequency, a ramp-comparator controller and a predictive controller to attain constant switching frequency are described along with its quantitative comparison. Furthermore, various methods have been reviewed to achieve hysteresis current control PWM with constant switching frequency operation. This paper complies various guidelines to choose a particular method suitable for application at a given power level, switching frequency and dynamic response.

Motion picture industry in Korea has been growing constantly and aroused various kinds of research attention. Particularly, the introduction of official box-office database service brought quantitative studies. However, approaches based on diffusion models have been rarely found with domestic film markets. In addition to the fundamental statistical review on Korea and US film markets, we applied a diffusion model to daily box-office revenue. Unlike conventional preference of Gamma distribution on the film markets, estimation results proved that BMIC can also explain the trend of daily revenue successfully. The comparison with BMIC showed that there is a distinctive difference in diffusion patterns of Korea and US film markets. Generally, word-of-mouth effect appeared more significant in Korea.

The purpose of this study is to comparatively analyze the designs selected in the competition and those executed actually for the public libraries and thereupon, check if competition winner architects' original intentions were maintained or not, and thereby, review the details of changed designs and their causes, and thus, provide some basic data useful to architectural planning and design of future public libraries. For this purpose, researcher sampled 5 public libraries designed and constructed through competition in Seoul and Gyeong-In area since 2000, and thereupon, comparatively analyzed the selected designs and executed ones to review the details and causes of changed designs and determine the characteristics of the spatial planning for the public libraries.
