Expanding exports of small and medium-sized companies is crucial for the continuous growth of the Korean economy. Therefore, the government operates various support systems to enhance the export capabilities of these companies. This study aims to analyze the impact of the Korean government's flagship export support system, known as the export initiation support system, on the performance of participating domestic companies. A fixed effect model using panel data was applied to examine the characteristics of 11,099 companies that participated in the export initiation support system from 2016 to 2019. The analysis revealed that the number of exporting countries, employees, and previous export volume had a significant impact on the export amount of participating companies. However, contrary to expectations, the number of overseas marketing participation and the GCL (global competence level) test did not show a significant impact. This study is significant as it provides implications for the development of support projects tailored to the specific needs of small and medium-sized companies, with the goal of improving the export support system.
As customer needs for eco-friendly transportation services increase, strategies of major global shipping companies are being established to meet them. Even if logistics costs increase, more and more shippers are choosing shipping companies that fulfill their social responsibilities through decarbonization, and against this backdrop, global shipping companies want to strengthen corporate social responsiveness and reduce shipping environmental costs. In the post-corona era after COVID-19, it is necessary to review the latest Green Shipping management strategies of shipping companies emerging as a new normal for the shipping and logistics industries. This study aims to explore trends in the latest Green Shipping management strategies of global shipping companies pursuing environmental load suppression in the shipping and logistics fields. Among the previous studies, some studies analyzed the green shipping policies of major shipping countries, but they did not deal with the latest policies over time, and few previous study has conducted a fact-finding analysis on the latest Green Shipping management strategies of major shipping companies at the corporate level. This study attempted to analyze securities reports by major domestic and international shipping companies and to present the latest Green Shipping management strategies by shipping companies.
This study is about the exhibition and convention visitors' satisfaction level and the participating companies' perception on the performance. The two topics were approached with integrated model. Accordingly, this study examined how service quality and experiential quality affect exhibition and convention visitors' satisfaction level and the participating companies' perception on the performance, and how the correlation between exhibition and convention visitors' satisfaction level and the participating companies' perception on the performance is affected. The result demonstrates that the quality of experience exerts positive effect on the visitors' sense of satisfaction(Hypothesis 3), while service quality is not statistically significant when it comes to the visitors' satisfaction(Hypothesis 1). When the correlation between service quality and experiential quality, and the participating companies' perception on the performance is examined, service quality exerts positive effect on the participating companies' perception on the performance(Hypothesis 2), while experiential quality is not statistically significant on the participating companies' perception on the performance(Hypothesis 4), When the correlation between exhibition and convention visitors' satisfaction level and the participating companies' perception on the performance is examined, it was shown that positive effect is exerted just like the results of the previous studies(Hypothesis 5), lastly, correlation between participating companies' perception on the performance, companies' satisfaction and company loyalty was examined. In case of the participating companies' perception on the performance, it exerts positive effect on the companies' satisfaction(Hypothesis 6), while company loyalty is not statistically significant (Hypothesis 7). In case of companies' satisfaction, it exerts positive effect on the company loyalty (Hypothesis 8). The results of this study will provide help to increase overall understanding of the exhibition and convention visitors' satisfaction level and the participating companies' perception on the performance, and to provide important implications for the development of strategy for exhibition and convention's vitalization.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare proposed the "undergraduate program specializing in pharmaceutical industry" in 2013, as part of its roadmap to assist domestic pharmaceutical companies to become the top-tier pharma companies in near future and provide skilled personnel tailored for pharmaceutical industry. However, it is not clear whether this "undergraduate program" meets the needs of pharmaceutical industry, especially when the number of pharmacy students increased from 1,200 to 1,700 per year since 2009. The purpose of this paper is to identify which educational background is preferred by pharmaceutical companies, by surveying the CEOs of domestic pharmaceutical companies and referring to recruitment advertisements shown in medical newspapers, specified by the fields within the companies. Two independent reviewers referred to recruitment session in Yakup newspaper and Dailypharm from May 2012 until January 2014, focusing on recruitments from pharmaceutical companies targeting bachelors' degree holders with no prior experience. 749 recruitments were observed during the study period, more than 90% of which were provided by domestic pharmaceutical companies, and regardless of the companies being domestic or multinational, pharmaceutical companies' preference for pharmacists was remarkable (44.3% for domestic and 65.8% for multinational), and the preference was especially high in the fields such as Medical, R&D, Market Access (regulatory affair/pricing and reimbursement), Business Development, and Marketing. Survey results showed that the need of establishing the undergraduate program specializing in pharmaceutical industry is mixed, suggesting that although there is need for the educating personnel targeting pharmaceutical industry, the undergraduate program would not be an answer due to current PEET system. Our study concludes that in the example of pharmaceutical companies' recruitments shown in medical newspapers, pharmaceutical companies prefer pharmacy major in almost all fields of the pharmaceutical companies, yet the pharmaceutical companies still perceive the gap between current bachelor's degree holders(including pharmacy majors) and the ideal personnel required for advancing to the "top-class" pharmaceutical companies.
Although accounting is one of the core fields of corporate management, few studies have reported accounting phenomena involving shipping companies. In addition, although financial reporting is very important to shipping companies that use several financial tools such as ship finance and financial lease, it is difficult to identify studies investigating shipping companies' financial reporting, especially their earnings management. The purpose of this study is to analyze accrual earnings management behavior of shipping companies. Companies with high debt ratios and net losses are known to have incentives for earnings management. Due to the nature of the industry, shipping companies have a high debt ratio and often report net losses. Accordingly, shipping companies are expected to engage in substantial earnings management. Based on the analysis of KOSP I companies listed on the Korea Exchange from 2001 to 2020, it was found that shipping companies are engaged in higher levels of earnings management than non-shipping companies. Discretionary accrual was used as a proxy variable for earnings management. Discretionary accrual was measured using the modified Jones model of Dechow et al. (1995) and the performance matched model of Kothari et al.(2005). In this study, significant results were derived by comparatively analyzing the earnings management practices, which is one of the major accounting behaviors of shipping and non-shipping companies. Stakeholders such as external auditors, investors, financial institutions, analysts, and government authorities need to be aware of the earnings management behavior of listed shipping companies during their external audit, financial analysis, and supervision. Finally, listed shipping companies must conduct stricter accounting based on accounting principles.
The purpose of this study is to analyze how Corporate Real Estate Ratio affects Firm's Value for KOSPI Companies and KOSDAQ Companies. The period of analysis is the period of the Financial Crisis (2007-2008), the period immediately after the Financial Crisis (2009-2011), and the period following the introduction of IFRS (2012-2016). The samples of 2761 KOSPI Companies years and 3719 KOSDAQ Companies years are used in this study. The result of Regression Analysis shows that the higher Corporate Real Estate Ratio is, the more negative Firm's Value is. In the comparison of markets, both KOSPI Companies and KOSDAQ Companies had no statistically significant effects during the Financial Crisis. Although KOSDAQ Companies had a greater negative effect on the Firm's Value than KOSPI Companies right after the Financial Crisis, KOSPI Companies have had a greater negative influence on the Firm's Value than KOSDAQ Companies since the introduction of IFRS. Therefore, each corporation should pay more attention to identifying the appropriate amount of their Corporate Real Estate Ratio and should continue to analyze and make decisions on the most efficient use of real estate which is owned by each company. This study shows speciality in dividing into three period, such as the period of the Financial Crisis, the period immediately after the Financial Crisis, and the period following the introduction of IFRS and comparing the degree of influence on the KOSPI Companies and KOSDAQ Companies for the each period. I hope to study the factors that affect the company's real estate policy.
Notorious press machine bothers employers by causing so many industrial accidents which are mostly of caught-in or between type. In 2008, press machines caused 1665 cases of such type of accidents, which reached about 11% of all those. Even though various approaches has been adopted to prevent those press machine accidents, up to now, no one was found to be satisfactory. In this study, two kinds of companies, accident-occurred and accident-free by press machine, were surveyed to find out positive and negative factors for accidents prevention. 400 companies which experienced accidents in 2008 and 200 companies which did not experience accident at all during the same period were selected for this survey. Most of these companies are small companies that employ less than 50 employees. Even though small companies are exempted from legal obligations to have a safety management system for accident prevention, we surveyed about safety management systems of those companies because of its crucial importance for accident prevention including whether they appointed safety managers and various supervisors. Awareness and efforts for safety of employers and employees were also measured. Results were analysed by the method of cross tabulation analysis. Main findings of this study are as follows. Most accident-occurred companies did not appoint any safety manager or supervisor. While it is recommended that the workplace of high accident rate have a safety manager. In addition, as less employers' effort for safety was made in accident-occurred companies in order to prevent accidents during press processing, the author proposes an amendment to the relevant law. Finally, the most referred reason for the negligence of hazard is the cumbersomeness in installing safeguards.

The engineering knowledge and technology is core driving forces of continuous growth in knowledge based society. Companies, the government, and universities are the subjects of an innovation and the cooperation between them is very important. Nowadays, the main purpose of industry-university cooperation moves to train experts and develop a new product. A shift of the paradigm came from the change of recognition that the final consumers of the program are companies and the universities are supporters of the program. In this paper, we investigate the purpose, participation and satisfaction of companies to industry-academy technology cooperation through empirical studies. The need to expert training, product development and process development makes companies participate industry-academy technology cooperation and companies have different purpose of participation by the business type. Companies often feel that expert training, subsidiary purpose of industry-academy technology cooperation, is more important than product development or process development. This result is caused by the real world environment of small and mid-size companies, lacking of technology experts. The participation of companies to each technology cooperation program (technology transfer, joint technology development, consigned technology development, technology consulting, co-op. lab.) is also different by business type. The companies' satisfaction with the purpose of process development is relatively higher than that with the purpose of product development and companies show also different satisfaction value by business type and participating program. The results of this study can give a contribution to the design of demand oriented industry-academy technology cooperation model.

The main purpose of the study was to explore effects of selection criteria of collaborating fashion companies on the partnership growth of collaborating artists with those companies. Secondly was to find differences in the selection criteria of collaborating fashion companies and the partnership growth of collaborating artists according to the characteristics of artists including gender, age, frequency and time period of collaboration. The questionnaire was developed by the researchers and was collected from 50 artists with experience in collaboration with fashion companies. The questionnaire was composed of three parts including the selection criteria of fashion companies, partnership growth measured by a Likert-type scale, and characteristics of artists measured by a nominal scale. Data were analyzed by a frequency test, factor analysis, reliability test, regression analysis, and independent sample t-test using SPSS Win 18.0. The results of the study showed that significant effects of the selection criteria of collaborating fashion companies on the partnership growth of collaborating artists with the companies. Also, there were differences in the selection criteria of collaborating fashion companies and the partnership growth of collaborating artists between artist groups according to the characteristics of the artists including gender, age, frequency and time period of collaboration.

Objectives: There have been many studies on exposure assessment of workers at companies using asbestos as a raw material and at sites of the removal of materials containing asbestos. However, no research has been carried out on the asbestos exposure of workers in industries involving asbestos-containing waste, such as workers at collection and transportation service companies, mid-treatment companies(solidification of asbestos-containing waste), and landfill sites. The objective of this study was to assess the asbestos exposure concentrations of workers in industries handling waste containing asbestos. Methods: For this study, we carried out field investigations at 15 companies: seven collection and transportation service companies, three mid-treatment companies, and five final treatment companies(landfill sites). We took both personal and area samples. Results: The range of asbestos exposure levels of workers handing asbestos-containing wastes at collection, mid-treatment, and landfill companies were 0.000 fibers/cc-0.009 fibers/cc, 0.000 fibers/cc-0.038 fibers/cc, and 0.000 fibers/cc-0.024 fibers/cc, respectively. Conclusions: The asbestos exposure levels of workers at mid-treatment companies were higher than those at collection and transportation companies and at final treatment companies. In the case of collection and transportation workers, the possibility of exposure to levels exceeding those found in the present study is not particularly high considering the characteristics of the work. However, in the case of intermediate or final disposal workers, it is considered that there is a possibility of exposure to levels above those found in this study.
