시스템사고로 본 압축도시의 공간적 특성과 지속가능성과의 동태적 관계 (System Thinking Perspective on the Dynamic Relationship between Spatial Characteristics of Compact City and Urban Sustainability)

  • The purpose of this paper is to review relationship between spatial characteristics of compact city and urban sustainabiliy from system dynamics perspective using causal loop analysis. It has been argued that spatial characteristics of compact city, high population density and mixed land use, are positively related to urban sustainability. However, research results that are not consistent with pros of compact city argument have been accumulated too. It is especially true when spatial characteristics of compact city are examined with regard to each dimension of sustainablility: economic, social, and environmental sustainability. Reviewing each dimension of sustainability with regard to spatial characteristics based on causal loop analysis, this paper provides more clear understanding on relationship between compact city and sustainability. Also this paper provides a base for system dynamics simulation for future study.

  • 본 논문에서는 OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 시스템의 반송파 주파수 동기화부 구현을 위하여 Compact CORDIC 처리기를 제안한다. Compact CORDIC 처리기는 반송파 주파수 옵셋 추정 및 보상시에 요구되는 OFDM 시스템의 독특한 특성을 이용하여 제안되었으며, Compact CORDIC 전처리부와 Compact CORDIC 처리부로 구성된다. Compact CORDIC 전처리부에서는 신호의 정규화를 효율적으로 수행하며, Compact CORDIC 처리부에서는 Vector 모드 CORDIC 과 Rotation 모드 CORDIC 연산을 효율적으로 결합하여 동시에 처리하여 반송파 주파수 동기화를 수행한다. FPGA 구현을 통하여 제안된 Compact CORDIC 처리기가 기존 CORDIC 방법보다 성능이 우수하며 구현 복잡도가 크게 감소함을 확인한다.

  • The implementation of the compact gearless elevator system with Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor is presented. For the purpose of the voltage suppression in the motor input side, the LRC filter is used. The automatic encoder alignment algorithm with rotor pole position is developed, and it is available in the full range of the load. The implemented system makes 11% energy savings comparing the system with the induction motor.

  • In this study, the characteristics of the hydraulic control system with bleed-off center type of a compact excavator were analyzed using developed analysis program. From the parametric analysis, the effects of each factor were revealed. Through the simulation with varying parameters, the system parameter effects on the controllable region and the pump pressure and load pressure variations were studied. The results were compared with the experimental ones. The results and discussions of the present paper could aid in the performance improvement of a hydraulic control system of a compact excavator.

LabVIEW의 모델기반 제어기 설계와 Compact RIO를 이용한 직류전동기 구동 시스템 (DC Motor Drive System Using Model Based Cotroller Design of LabVIEW and Compact RIO)

  • 본 논문에서는 모델기반의 제어기 설계 프로그램인 National Instruments(NI)사의 System Identification Toolkit과 Control Design Toolkit, Simulation module을 사용하여 기존의 제어기 설계방식보다 쉽고 편리하게 제어기를 설계할 수 있었다. 직류전동기의 속도제어시스템을 구현하기 위해서 하드웨어는 NI사에서 제공하는 실시간 제어기(Real-Time Controller:RT) CompactRIO를 사용하였다. 먼저는, 테스트 입력 신호를 전동기에 인가하고 얻은 출력신호를 통해 제어대상 플랜트인 직류전동기 구동시스템의 전달함수를 구할 수 있었다. 다음으로는 원하는 제어응답성능을 갖는 극점, 영점 제어기를 설계한 후, 모의실험을 통해 속도제어응답을 확인할 수 있었고, 실시간 프로그램으로 다운로드하여 실제 전동기 구동시스템의 실험을 통해서 설계된 속도제어기의 응답 결과를 모의실험과 비교하여 검증하였다.

Design and transient analysis of a compact and long-term-operable passive residual heat removal system

  • Nuclear marine propulsion has been emerging as a next generation carbon-free power source, for which proper passive residual heat removal systems (PRHRSs) are needed for long-term safety. In particular, the characteristics of unlimited operation time and compact design are crucial in maritime applications due to the difficulties of safety aids and limited space. Accordingly, a compact and long-term-operable PRHRS has been proposed with the key design concept of using both air cooling and seawater cooling in tandem. To confirm its feasibility, this study conducted system design and a transient analysis in an accident scenario. Design results indicate that seawater cooling can considerably reduce the overall system size, and thus the compact and long-term-operable PRHRS can be realized. Regarding the transient analysis, the Multi-dimensional Analysis of Reactor Safety (MARS-KS) code was used to analyze the system behavior under a station blackout condition. Results show that the proposed design can satisfy the design requirements with a sufficient margin: the coolant temperature reached the safe shutdown condition within 36 h, and the maximum cooling rate did not exceed 40 ℃/h. Lastly, it was assessed that both air cooling and seawater cooling are necessary for achieving long-term operation and compact design.

Compact ECR plasma장치의 제작 및 특성 연구 (Study on the Fabrication and Characterization of Compact ECR Plasma System)

  • A compact electron cyclotron resonance(ECR) plasma system composed of a microwave generator and a magnet coil was fabricated. A Langmuir single probe was used to investigate the plasma characteristics of the system through I-V measurements. The performance of the compact ECR plasma system was tested for the case of silicon etching reaction with $CF_{4}/O_{2}$(30%) mixed gas. Electron density and etch rate increased to maximum values and then decreased with increasing argon gas pressure, but electron temperature changed in the opposite way. The electron density and the electron temperature of argon gas plasma were 0.85${\times}~5.5{\times}10^{10}cm^{-3}$ and 4.5~6.0 eV, respectively, in the pressure range from $3{\times}10^{4}$ to 0.05Torr. The etch rate reached a maximum value at the position of 2.5cm from the bottom of plasma cavity. Etch rate uniformity was $\pm$6% across 6cm wafer. Anisotropic index was 0.75 at 1.5${\times}10^{-4}$Torr.

신개념 컴팩트 머시닝센터의 열적 안정화 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Thermal Stabilization Design of a New Concept Compact Machining Center)

  • In this paper, thermal stabilization design of a new concept compact machining center has been investigated. A new concept machining center adopted a new X-axis as a NC rotary table. A New concept compact machining center is designed that spindle speed, feed rate and NC Rotary table speed are 12,000rpm, 60m/min and 110rpm each. The analysis is carried out by using FEM simulation Solidworks, CATIA and ANSYS. This paper is focused on the thermal deformation according to temperature distribution of a spindle system and feed drive system. Heat transfer analysis is performed according to heat source and atmosphere contact parts. As a result, this compact machining center is designed as a thermally stable structure.

소형 이중 원형편파 안테나를 이용한 도플러 레이다 개발 (Development of Doppler Radar Using Compact Dual-Circularly Polarized Antenna)

  • In this paper, we developed the compact Doppler radar using the compact dual-circularly polarized antenna for medical application. The operating frequency is 2.47 GHz for considering ISM band. In order to decrease the size of the entire system, we designed the compact antenna and located the circuit board at the back of the antenna. The simulation of the proposed antenna was performed by the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. The total volume of the proposed system is $65{\times}45{\times}6mm^3$ including the antenna. From the experiment, the developed bio-radar could be used to support the device for medical applications.

  • CTMS(Compact Tower Online Monitoring System), which deals with the polymer insulation arms of new material, is the on-line monitoring system for verifying stability and reliability of a new Compact Tower. CTMS measures real time data from the installed sensors in a Compact Tower and transmission line, air craft warning lights for detecting and determining the life time and the replace cycle of these facilities. This paper introduces how develop the CTMS and proposes how it will be use.
