고성능 데이터 발간/구독 미들웨어의 이벤트, 버퍼 처리 기술 및 성능 분석 (Implementation and Performance Analysis of Event Processing and Buffer Managing Techniques for DDS)

  • DDS(Data Distribution Service)는 유연성, 확장성, 실시간 통신 환경을 지원하는 통신 미들웨어이다. 본 논문에서는 DDS 미들웨어의 성능을 향상시키기 위한 방법들을 제안한다. DDS 미들웨어 내부 동작과 관련된 세부 이벤트를 정의하고, 이벤트 구동형 구조에 적용하기 위해 하나의 DDS 메시지를 의미 있는 서브메시지 단위로 분해함으로써 처리 복잡도를 낮출 수 있다. 제안하는 히스토리캐시 관리 기법은 DDS의 특성 상 상태접근과 임의접근이 빈번하게 발생한다는 사실을 이용한다. 제안한 방법들을 본 연구팀이 개발한 EchoDDS에 적용하여 성능을 향상시켰다.

은상(殷商)시기 갑골문(甲骨文)에 나타난 커뮤니케이션 속성(屬性) (A Study of Communication Factor in the Chinese augury bone)

  • 갑골문이 커뮤니케이션 속성을 가진 커뮤니케이션 텍스트인 이유는 갑골문니 커뮤니케이션 개념 및 구성 요소 모두를 갖추고 있는 인간의 커뮤니케이션 현상으로서 커뮤니케이션 연구 대상으로 충분히 설명 가능하기 때문이다. 송신자는 갑골에 새길 내용을 정한 사람이고, 메시지는 새겨진 문자이며, 매체는 거북이나 짐승의 뼈이고, 수용자는 갑골문을 읽은 사람이며, 효과는 독해를 통한 인지(認知) 및 그에 따른 행동이고, 커뮤니케이션 상황은 이러한 일련의 시공간적 환경 등으로 설명할 수 있는 것이 그 근거이다. 중국 은상(殷商)시기의 커뮤니케이션 수단으로서 갑골문이 문자성 및 전래성을 갖는다는 것은 커뮤니케이션 역사 텍스트로서 손색이 없음을 뒷받침한다. 갑골문은 커뮤니케이션 도구인 문양 부호 문자로서의 속성을 갖추고 있고, 왕실 기록과 같은 내용 면에서 당시 사회 현상 전반이라는 메시지나 콘텐츠를 담고 있으며, 갑골 관리자였던 정인(貞人)이나 구인(龜人)의 역할은 오늘날 언론인의 역할과 유사하고, 문서처럼 정리 분류하여 체계적으로 관리 보관되었다는 점 등 또한 이를 뒷받침한다. 당시 사회의 의식과 가치관을 반영하고 있다는 점에서 갑골문은 커뮤니케이션 사상사 연구의 텍스트가 된다. 갑골문 서체 및 그 힘의 강약 변화가 종교적 가치관의 강약에 따라 달라졌다든가, 갑골문 기록인 왕명에서 정치 이데올로기를 분석해 낼 수 있다든지, 갑골문에 새겨진 10간 12지가 음양오행설과 결부되어 중국 철학 원리의 구성 요인이 된 것 등이 그 근거이다. 그러나 본 연구는 갑골문에 대한 연구 시각 넓히기를 위해 던지는 화두에 그치는 초보적 시론인 만큼, 분석의 심층성 및 방법론의 정치성 등에서 부족한 부분은 갑골문에 대한 학제간 연구, 인구의 양적 확산 및 질적 발전으로 인하여 보다 생산적으로 극복 가능하리라고 믿기 때문에 이후의 연구 과제로 남겨 둔다.

우정총국주변 시민광장 설계 (The Citizen Plaza Design around the 1st Korean Postal Building, 'Woojeongchongkuk')

  • This paper presents a landscape design for the citizen plaza around the ˝Woojeongchongkuk˝(the 1st Korean postal building) where the ˝Gapsinjeongbyeon˝(1844 coup d´etat) occurred and which was once used as the ˝Jeoneoigam˝(a palace hospital). The site is located in 39 Kyeonji-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and of which area is about 2,013$m^2$. The landscape design goals are to build traditional spaces which fit the traditional buildings and where people feel the old atmosphere; to build interesting spaces where people can learn the post and telegraphic history; and to build nature-friendly green rest spaces in the city. To achieve these goals, symbolic, traditional, educational, historical, and environmentally-friendly concepts are developed. With this concept the space is divided into two axis of the pst and telegraph of Korea. Along the two axis the Postage Stamp ˝Madang˝(yard), the Letter Garden, the Telegraphic ˝Ddeul˝(garden), the Communication Plaza, and the ˝Jeoneoigam˝(old palace hospital) and the ˝Gapsinjeongbyeon˝(1884 coup d´etat) Memorial Place are arranged. The Postal Stamp Madang which symbolizes the first Korean postage stamp is a space for studying history and evolution of stamps in Korea. The Letter Garden which symbolizes and formalizes a letter paper is composed with white bamboo trees which are planted linearly and long granite benches on which famous letters are carved. In the Telegraphic Ddeul which symbolizes the telegraph, the history of the telegraphic instrument and the telephone is exhibited. In the Communication Plaze which symbolizes future post and telegraph service extending to the world, the images of satellite communication, internet, webmail etc. are exhibited. The Jeoneoigan, and the Gapsinjeongbyeon Memorial Place is for memorializing the historic place and events. Throughout the whole place, various models and ceramic picture tiles about the post and telegraph and exhibited for effective education. In conclusion, sustainable management schemes for the site are suggested.

오토메이션 API를 사용한 설계 이력 기반 파라메트릭 CAD 모델 번역기의 통합 (Integration of History-based Parametric CAD Model Translators Using Automation API)

  • As collaborative design and configuration design are of increasing importance in product development, it becomes essential to exchange the feature and parametric CAD models among participants. A history-based parametric method has been proposed and implemented. But each translator which exchanges the feature and parametric information tends to be heavy because to implement duplicated functions such as the identification of the selected geometries, mapping between features which have different attributes. Furthermore. because the history-based parametric translator uses the procedural model as the neutral format, which is the XML macro file, the history-based parametric translators need a geometric modeling kernel to generate an internal explicit geometric model. To ease the problem, we implemented a shared integration platform, the TransCAD. The TransCAD separates translators from the XML macro files. The translators for various CAD systems need to communicate with only the TransCAD. To support the communication with the TransCAD, we exposed the functions of the TransCAD by using the Automation APIs, which is developed by Microsoft. The Automation APIs of the TransCAD consist of the part modeling functions, the data extraction functions, and the utility functions. Each translator uses these functions to translate a parametric CAD model from the sending CAD system into the XML format, or from the in format into the model of the receiving CAD system This paper introduces what the TransCAD is and how it works for the exchange of the feature and parametric models.

Building up an academic discipline on material assemblages: modern Europe's museum developments and 'museology'

  • At the turn of the century in which European colonialism was reaching its zenith and modernization was gathering speed, public museums were institutionalized. This paper looks into the part these European modern museums played in territorializing academic disciplines like anthropology and art history. The museums to deal with are the British Museum and the National Gallery in London, Mus?e du Louvre in Paris, and Museumsinsel in Berlin. Rather than in-depth detailed analysis of each museum, the aim is to explore the ways in which these museological institutions interacting with modern disciplines in the wider colonial context objectified other cultures and formulated a framework of the world through classification and comparison of material things, on the basis of the judgement of their artistic values. This exploration is also to rethink theoretical positions and perspectives on the museum in Korea. It is remarkable in Europe that such academic fields as history, art history, anthropology and cultural studies look for new possibilities of museology in conjunction with the recent proliferation of studies on the museum as a medium to construct and deconstruct knowledge. Meanwhile, the mammoth European museums which are often considered a stronghold of museology advocate the 'universal museum' themselves, quite the modern idea but in a revised rendering. Under these circumstances, this paper seeks to shed light on the definition of the museum as an arena in which scholarly discourses about art, culture and history can be created and contested, on the effectiveness of the museum as a communication medium in a postcolonial era, and on the need to pay trans-disciplinary attention to the museum in its broadest sense.

『어약원방(御藥院方)』 이본(異本)에 대한 연구 - 「담음문(痰飮門)」을 중심으로 - (A Study on Different Versions of Eoyakwonbang Based on the Phlegm-fluid Chapter)

  • Eoyakwonbang is a collection of prescriptions of Yuyaoyuan, an imperial medical bureau of China. While the first edition of this book does not exist at present, two versions printed in Korea, and one printed in Japan, which is the well-known Gyesasingan Eoyakwonbang have been passed down. Eoyakwonbang is a meaningful text for the history of medical communication between China, Japan and Korea, but research on the different versions and contents of Eoyakwonbang have been insufficient. Out of the 2 versions published in Korea, Eulheja Eoyakwonbang is different from Gapjinja Eoyakwonbang [another version in Korea] and Gwanjeong Eoyakwonbang of Japan, in that the prescriptions are organized, the ingredients are organized according to the amount of each ingredient for each formula, and the amounts are recorded in an accurate manner. On the other hand, the Gapjinja version has many mistakes in the characters and content. The Gwanjeong version has lesser mistakes in characters, but repeats the content error of the Gapjinja version. Eulheja was printed after correction based on the original version or unknown version from China. Gapjinja was re-printed based on the Gyesasingan version, while Gwanjeong seems to have used the Gapjinja version as its original script, as the mistakes made in the Gapjinja version are repeated in the Gwanjeong version as well.

정년퇴임 교원(윤창열)의 학술 및 봉사 업적 (Achievements of a Retiring Faculty, Yoon Chang Yeol)

  • OObjectives : This paper aims to document the journal's history by researching academic achievements of a retiring faculty member and his contribution to the academy. Methods : To expand the boundaries of medical humanities and sociology within the Colleges of Korean Medicine, the methodology for taking oral history was followed in investigating the faculty member's scholarly and academic achievements, which will contribute to the preservation of the academy's history for years to come. Results : Yoon taught subjects such as Medical Chinese, Medical Classics, Classical Chinese, Reading Classical Texts, Medical Philosophy, Medical I-Ching at the University, while vigorously studying basic Korean Medical fields such as the Huangdineijing and the Five Circuits and Six Qi Theory. He also pushed for international communication and implemented the overseas studying program for students and faculty. At the academy, he stabilized the organization's finances, strengthened the journal's status, and built the foundation for the standardization of Medical Classics education by publishing a common textbook. Conclusions : Yoon's various achievements were made possible by other members of the organization, which was in reciprocation to Yoon's effort to bring the members together to form cooperative relationships.

Blockchain Technology and Utilization Schemes in Tactical Communication Network

  • In this paper, we propose schemes of blockchain utilization in tactical communication environment. The military tactical communication environment has similar characteristics with blockchain network such as distributed architecture, decentralization, and the need for data integrity. A communication node constituting a tactical communication network is constituted by a system capable of configuring and connecting a network for each node. When a communication node, having such capabilities, is configured as a node of blockchain network, various functions could be performed. In this paper, we propose utilization schemes of authentication, integrity, record management, and privilege control based blockchain technology. Functions for authentication, integrity verification, and record management need to ensure the stored data and could track history. The requirement of function's characteristics are matched to blockchain which is storing data sequentially and difficult to hack data, so that it could perform functionally and sufficiently well. Functions for authority control should be able to assign different privileges according to the state of the requestor. Smart contract will function when certain conditions are satisfied and it will be able to perform its functions by using it. In this paper, we will look over functions and utilization schemes of blockchain technology which could reliably share and synchronize data in a tactical communication environment composed of distributed network environment.

지방신문사의 네트워킹 형성에 관한 분석 연구 (An Analysis on the Networking of Local Newspaper Industry)

  • 본 연구에서는 지방신문사 소유 자본의 성격과 역사에 따라 언론과 지역사회 엘리트간의 네트워킹이 어떻게 형성되어 있는지를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 2002년 10월 현재, 우리나라에서 발행되고 있는 지방신문 중에서 20개를 선정하며 간부들과 엘리트간의 네트워킹 현상을 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 신문사의 경영진 구성은 소유자본의 특성과 역사를 반영한다는 결론을 얻었다. 우선 주식(향토기업)자본 신문사의 경우 지역사회 자본가들이 대거 참여함으로 해서 권력구조와 네트워킹이 긴밀하게 형성되고 있었다. 반면에 가계자본 신문사 간부들은 엘리트들과 밀접한 네트워킹을 형성하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 대기업자본의 신문사들은 주로 경제 엘리트와의 관련성이 높았다. 도민주자본 신문사의 경우 지역사회 엘리트들과 부분적인 연결망을 형성하고 있었다. 한편 역사라는 변수도 신문사와 엘리트간의 네트워킹을 설명하는데 있어서 중요한 변수로 작용하고 있음을 발견하였다. 역사가 짧은 신문사의 경우 엘리트와 사회적 연결망을 형성하고 있는 비율이 상대적으로 높았으며, 권력구조의 다양한 엘리트 집단과 중복해서 네트워킹을 형성하고 있었다.

SVM-Based Incremental Learning Algorithm for Large-Scale Data Stream in Cloud Computing

  • We have witnessed the rapid development of information technology in recent years. One of the key phenomena is the fast, near-exponential increase of data. Consequently, most of the traditional data classification methods fail to meet the dynamic and real-time demands of today's data processing and analyzing needs--especially for continuous data streams. This paper proposes an improved incremental learning algorithm for a large-scale data stream, which is based on SVM (Support Vector Machine) and is named DS-IILS. The DS-IILS takes the load condition of the entire system and the node performance into consideration to improve efficiency. The threshold of the distance to the optimal separating hyperplane is given in the DS-IILS algorithm. The samples of the history sample set and the incremental sample set that are within the scope of the threshold are all reserved. These reserved samples are treated as the training sample set. To design a more accurate classifier, the effects of the data volumes of the history sample set and the incremental sample set are handled by weighted processing. Finally, the algorithm is implemented in a cloud computing system and is applied to study user behaviors. The results of the experiment are provided and compared with other incremental learning algorithms. The results show that the DS-IILS can improve training efficiency and guarantee relatively high classification accuracy at the same time, which is consistent with the theoretical analysis.
