A Design of 8VSB Transmission System for Use in PAL Standard (PAL 표준 지역에 적합한 8VSB 송수신 시스템 설계)

  • 8VSB transmission system of American standard and OFDM system of European standard are to be international standards for the transmission of digital terrestrial television. When countries using PAL standard adopt the American 8VSB system which is designed under the circumstance of NTSC system, one of strong interference is the co-channel PAL interference coming from analog PAL signal. In this paper, in order to solve this problem, we classified seven types of PAL system into three groups according to the bandwidth and a new PAL-8VSB system is proposed to reject the co-channel PAL interference by using modified comb filters suitable for each group. By computer simulations of the proposed PAL-8VSB system with the co-channel PAL interference it is confirmed that the proposed comb filter results in the improvement of DIU ratio by about 9 dB.

  • LTCC filters have been widely used to wireless terminals. They generally adopt the multilayer structure. Some of multilayer LTCC filters are made of symmetrical parallel-coupled lines and anti-symmetrical parallel-coupled lines to reduce the length of resonators. The equivalent circuit of parallel-coupled lines was analyzed and applied to bandpass filters using multilayer parallel-coupled line resonators. The three-pole bandpass filter with the center frequency of 2.45 GHz is designed by using the proposed equivalent circuit and the measured results have good agreement with the design results.

  • In this paper, we propose new gain optimization method for Sigma-Delta A/D converters. First, in proposed method, the 10 candidates are selected through SNR maximization for Sigma-Delta modulator. After then, it is shown that optimum gains can be obtained through MSE calculation for CIC decimation filter. In the simulation, The proposed method has advantages which utilize SNR maximization for modulator and MSE minimization for CIC decimation later. The more candidates are chosen in SNR maximization for modulator, the better gains can be obtained in MSE minimization for CIC decimation filter.

  • In this paper, Filter could use to IMT2000 repeater using resonator of Comb-line form that has waveguide structure and designed. Coupled resonators designed using slot in wall between resonators to compact. 5-stage resonators have equal structure and input and output part was optimized to get into minimum impedance. Band pass filter characteristic satisfied design condition as result that used Chebyshev function that have 0.2 dB ripple and analyze using simulation tool.

  • In this paper, we improve a Physical modeling of sanio gayageum and synthesize sounds by right-hand playing styles. Parameters of loop filter are estimated from decay region of recorded sound. That results in improved accuracy and reduction of computational costs. Body is implemented to a resonator which has characteristics of main resonances extracted from impulse response. Residual signal with main resonances removed is used as excitation signal of proposed model. Amok alter is approximated to frequency response of amok and is implemented to the 15th order all-role digital filter. Beating (by middle and index finger) among the right-hand playing styles is represented by feedforward comb filter. Parameters of this filter are extracted from recorded sound. The synthesized sounds using improved physical model of sanjo gayageum. plucking and beating, are pretty similar to original sounds.

  • In this paper, we propose a new gain optimization technique for Sigma-Delta A/D converters. In the proposed scheme, multiple gain set candidates showing maximum SNR in the modulator block are selected, and then multiple gain set candidates are investigated for minimum MSE in decimation block. Through CIC decimation filter simulation, it is shown that second SNR ranking candidate in modulation block is the best gain set.

  • In this paper, we discuss the design of the Digital Down Converters for the IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN receiver, which can be used for the customized receiver. The customized receiver can be used for special puropsed services which cannot be realized using the general custom chip. In the OFDM receiver, DDC receives the up sampled Inphase/Quadrature signal from the AD converter and process down sampling and filtering procedures using the Cascaded Intergrator Filter and FIR filters. We discuss the structure and design methodology of DDC's and analyze the simulation results.

  • Development of an artificial reverberation algorithm with low memory requirements has been an issue of importance in applications such as mobile multimedia devices. One possible solution to this problem is to embed a time-varying all-pass filter to the feedback loop of the comb filter. In this paper, theoretical and perceptual analyses of reverberators embedding time-varying all-pass filters are presented. The analyses are to iud a perceptually acceptable degree of phase variation by the all-pass filter. Based on the analyses, we propose a new methodology of designing reverberators embedding time-varying all-pass filters. Through the subjective tests, we showed that, even with smaller memory, the proposed method is capable of providing perceptually comparable sound quality to the conventional methods involving time-invariant parameters.

  • Pulsed ultrasonic Doppler system is a useful diagnostic instrument to measure blood-flow-velocity, velocity profile, and volume-blood-flow. This system is more powerful compare with 2-dimensional B-scan tissue image. A system has been deve- loped and ii being evaluated using TMS 32010 DSP. We use this DSP for the purpose of real-time spectrum analyzer to obtain spectrogram in singlegate pulsed Doppler system and for the serial comb filter to cancel clutter and zero crossing counter to estimate Doppler mean frequency in multigate pulsed Doppler system. The Doppler shift of the backscattered signals is sensed in a phase detector. This Doppler signal corresponds to the mean velocity over a some region in space defined by the ultrasonic beam dimensions, transmitted pulse duration, and transducer ban(iwidth. Multi- gate pulsed Doppler system enable the transcutaneous and simultaneous assessment of the velocities in a number of adjacent sample volumes as a continuous function of time. A multigate pulsed Doppler system processing the information originating from presented.

  • In this paper, a new method for linear sweeping of wavelength swept laser has proposed, and the linear sweeping of 1kHz speed and 80nm range has realized by using this method. The proposed requires only one-shot calibration in the early stage on a wave pattern applied to FFP-TF. This makes the problem with nonlinear swept lasers like a cumbersome and time-consuming signal processing brought on by every recalibration to be resolved.
