  • Although the pathophysiologic mechanism is unknown, there has been long-running debate on whether periodic discharges such as periodic lateralized epileptiform discharges (PLEDs) and generalized periodic epileptiform discharges are an ictal or interictal EEG pattern. The goal of this review is to give evidence that such periodic discharges on EEG are not ictal phenomenon and just represent underlying acute brain damage. This review includes coma with epileptiform EEG pattern and its prognostic and therapeutic implications. Based on previous reports, rather than taking the view PLEDs represent either an underlying ictal process or an electrographic correlate of neuronal injury, it would be more reasonable that PLEDs are considered as a dynamic pathophysiological state in which unstable neurobiological processes create an ictal-interictal continuum.

THE DIFFUSION COEFFICIENT OF RELATIVISTIC PARTICLES IN AN INTRACLUSTER MEDIUM OF THE COMA CLUSTER OF GALAXIES

  • In the presence of synchrotron losses, diffusion of an ensembel of relativistic particles in an intraculster medium is investigated. The diffusion coefficient in the medium is found to be constrained by $28.8\;{\pm}\;0.4\;{\leq}\;Log\;D\;{\leq}\;30.5\;{\pm}\;0.4\;cm^2s^{-1}$ with the energy dependency of $D_0{\varepsilon}^{\mu}$ of ${\mu}=0.4{\pm}0.2$ as the previous observations suggested. As an important implication of the result, the brightest head-tail radio source NGC 4869, whose radio tail structure is indicative for its orbit within the cluster core, is considered to be the major contributor of particles for the formation of the Coma radio halo.

무선 ATM 전송을 위한 MC-CDMA 시스템의 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of MC-CDMA Systmes for Wireless ATM)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 ATM 전송을 위한 MC-COMA 시스댐의 성능을 시융레이션을 통하여 분석하였다. 설 계된 MC-COMA 시스템은 5GHz 주파수대에서 약 18.2 MHz의 대역폭을 사용하여 25 Mbps의 데이터를 지원 하며, Wireless ATM Working Group(WATM WG)에서 제안한 무선 물리 계층의 규격을 만족한다. 채널 부 호화 방법으로서 컨볼루션 부호, TCM. 그리고 Turbo TCM(T-TCM)을 각각 적용하여 성능을 비교 분석한 다 실험 결과로부터 T-TCM을 적용한 경우. 반복 복호를 수행함에 따라 가장 우수한 성능을 보임을 알 수 였다.
