The matching task allows the referents and the best examplars of each color names to be determined. The hue area and the central hue corresponding to the basic color names were represented in the two dimensional color space. This study provides not only basic materials of Korean color term to psychology and linguistics but also bases for further study to the internal structure of Korean color categories.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the strategies for applying TRIZ to technology education. This study was carried out through literature review on contradiction, 40 principles, 76 standard solutions, multi screen method, effects, the law of technology evolution, and ARIZ, and questionnaire survey to investigate the validity. Through this study the strategies for applying TRIZ to technology education were proposed and the validity was identified. Only the '40 Principles' was appropriate to technology education of elementary and middle school. The results of this study were as follows; In elementary school technology education, segmentation, extraction, local quality, asymmetry, consolidation, universality, counterweight, do it in reverse, mediator, self service, dispose, flexible membranes or thin films, changing the color, homogeneity, rejecting and regenerating parts, and composite materials were suitable. And in middle school technology education, segmentation, extraction, local quality, asymmetry, consolidation, universality, counterweight, prior counteraction, prior action, cushion in advance, do it in reverse, dynamicity, partial or excessive action, continuity of useful action, convert harm into benefit, mediator, self service, dispose, flexible membranes or thin films, changing the color, homogeneity, rejecting and regenerating parts, transformation of properties, phase transition, thermal expansion, and composite materials were suitable.

The purposes of this research are as followings; first, the investigation of the world's high religions, second, the study of the figurative attributes of religious costume to study and discuss the universality of figurative beauty and aesthetic value. Figurative attributes are distinct in religious costume. First, the non structural feature of composition, and the manner in which the costume is worn. Second, the rich silhouette covering the body. Third, the restraint and inhibition of decoration, and fourth, the preference of achromatic color and monotones. 'The beauty of concealing', derived from the religious absolute and chastity, 'The beauty of chastity' influenced by the restraint of decoration and design, and 'The beauty of nature' as the drapery and non structural feature are the universal aesthetic values. Human beings tend to contact the divine beings by pursuing the essential thing and concealing the body through religion. The concept of climate which is made our formative sense include topography, climate, soil, plant and so on. This influenced a lot to set up a foundation of Korean fashion design. And the naturalism by Korean climate newly created and developed shape, color, material and design. It is our duty to develope design based on naturalism to secure the competitive power against the world in this period of information and this design is getting important as a high value added method put into Korean culture. Therefore, developing Korean design which shapes the beauty of Korean nature and traditional culture will have a important competitive power in the world. • As a plan for establishing Korea's cultural identity and its competitive edge in the world market and for enhancing Korea's cultural status, creative and unique high value-added cultural products need to be developed utilizing our inherent cultural assets. Accordingly, this study focused on the development of the design of fashion cultural products that utilize the convergence of Hangeul our peculiar font style and Korea's cultural heritage, which is registered as part of UNESCO's World Heritage. A design method was devised that converges archetypal images of cultural property with the unique Hangeul font in a way that targets Korea's symbolic architectures. The symbolic architecture includes Korea's world-heritage pagoda architecture, such as Seokgatap pagoda and Dabotap pagoda at Bulguksa temple. It also included the architecture of royal palace, such as Injeongjeon hall at Changdeokgung palace. Finally, it also included the architecture of the fortress wall, such as Paldalmun gate in Hwaseong fortress. Thus, by developing cultural assets made from a convergence between architecture and the Hangeul font as a consumer-product image that has universality, the possibility of cultural products was pursued by applying color planning after an analysis that involved extracting the compositional colors of the flags of the world. This research and approach will lead to opportunities for further progress for Korea's cultural products in the global market as a results of additional recognition for their value, excellence, and universal appeal.
