This study was attempted to contribute to enhancing the quality of practical education by using Q-methodology to find out how nursing students cope with a mistake during clinical practice. From October 3rd to 26th, 2016, 30 Q-statements were selected through in-depth interviews and prior papers to identify response patterns for mistakes in the 3rd to 4th grade of the Department of Nursing at K University. The analysis using the QUANL program has four types. the first type was named the frankness type, the second type was named the forwardness type, the third type was named the evasion type, the fourth type was named the anxiousness type. In this paper we proposed that the practical guidance instructor and the field instructor need to understand the individual recognition style of each student and to develop coping strategies considering the individuality and to cooperate with education and guidance. In addition, in order to establish a positive cognitive formation and coping method in case of a mistake, it is necessary to educate management about mistakes in systematic nursing student clinical practice.
Purpose: This study evaluated the usefulness of International Classification of Functioning, disability and health core set for children and youths with cerebral palsy (ICF-core set for CP) by comparing the Gross Motor Function Measure-88 (GMFM-88), which is the most widely used outcome measure in children with cerebral palsy (ICF-core set for CP). Method: One subject (Female, 14) was evaluated by GMFM-88 and ICF-core set for CP. In addition, the concept of GMFM-88 was compared with the concept of the ICF-core set for CP in compliance with ICF linking rules. The numerical values both of the GMFM-88 categories and the ICF-core set for CP's items were compared. Results: The ICF b760 was linked to the GMFM-88 59~61. d415 was linked to 57~58 of GMFM-88. d450 was linked to GMFM-88's 65~72. d455 was linked to GMFM-88 at 77and 80~83. Conclusion: The association of the ICF-core set for CP and GMFM-88 was confirmed. In addition, the number of categories of ICF-core set for CP was smaller than the number of items of GMFM-88. In conclusion, the ICF-core set for CP is an evaluation tool that can identify the various features of children. In addition, GMFM-88 was linked to the ICF core set for CP according to the ICF linking rules.

Experiments done in traditional physics laboratories have been criticized for giving too detailed instruction so that student could follow the experimental procedure without understanding. This type of experiment is often called "cookbook experiment." Cookbook experiment was known to be little help to understand the physics concepts and to increase student interest. To solve these problems with traditional cookbook experiment, non-directive introductory physics laboratory was designed and tried with the freshmen of Department of Physics Education of Seoul National University. Non-directive laboratory was characterized by the lack of step by step instruction for students to follow. The instruction students received consisted of the goal of experiment, a short introduction, and a list of suggested materials to be used. Student designed the experimental procedure and decided what material they wanted to use. One group submitted one lab report as a group to encourage cooperation among students. Lab report could be written in any form students wanted and no penalty point was given to poor data or inappropriate theory, etc to encourage taking risks. Penalty points were given if the students did not get involved during class hours. Student received extra point for being creative and / or working hard. Teaching assistants used Socratic dialogue in helping students to find their own way instead of explaining what they had to do. Students' interest about the non-directive experiment was studies at the of the semester. A questionnaire was made for students to answer. The questionnaire consisted of four categories, the equipment and the laboratory, the experimental procedure, the lab report, and teaching assistant. For each category, student were asked to explain the differences from other laboratory classes, features they liked and the reasons why they do, features they did not like and why they did not. At the end of the questionnaire, students were asked what hey wanted to change and what they did not. They also could put any opinion they had other than the questions asked. Student overall opinion was very positive. All the students said they liked the lack of detailed experimental procedure because it gave them the feeling of achievement, made them feel challenged and think in more diverse and creative ways. Students liked the lab report because group report forced them to discuss more and the free form lab report helped them to focus on the what they did. Student responses about the teaching assistant was also positive but not as enthusiastic as the experimental procedure or lab report. However students recognised that the role of the teaching assistant was as a guide, a supporter, or a facilitator.

The purpose of this study was to investigate factors associated with the critical thinking ability of nursing students at the individual and school levels. The study adopted a descriptive design and recruited 465 nursing students from four nursing schools from November 2014 to September 2015 through convenience sampling. The Clinical Critical Thinking Skill Test was used to measure critical thinking ability, and the data were analyzed with the SAS ver. 9.4 program (SAS Institute Inc., Cary, NC, USA) for descriptive statistics, t-test, analysis of variance, and multi-level model. The results showed that clinical practicum experience (${\beta}=-0.72$, p=0.025), taking critical thinking courses (${\beta}=0.63$, p=0.010), and taking simulation courses (${\beta}=0.56$, p=0.035) improved critical thinking ability in the individual level model. In the school level model, the interaction effect between the years of clinical practice done by the student and the presence of full-time clinical instructors was significant (${\beta}=1.29$, p=0.011). These results suggest that critical thinking ability improves with the more years of clinical practice individual nursing students have, and this improvement is greater with the presence of full-time clinical instructors in the school. Therefore, it is recommended that nursing students undergo critical thinking and simulation courses to develop their critical thinking ability, and dedicated clinical instructors in nursing schools should play a vital role.

Purpose: The Purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between self-disclosure and role conflict in nursing students. Method: The subjects were 386 nursing students who were in college and university. The data were collected from July 26 to September 18, 2004 by the structured questionnaires. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient, and ANOVA & t-test with SAS package were used. Results: 1. The mean of self-disclosure perceived by nursing students was 3.57(${\pm}$.53), and the mean of role conflict perceived by nursing students was 3.62(${\pm}$.49). If the role conflict was divided into subcategory, deficiency of ability and skill was 3.77(${\pm}$.60), role ambiguity was 3.66(${\pm}$.54), and internal conflict was 3.49(${\pm}$.62). 2. 'Role conflict', 'deficiency of ability and skill', 'role ambiguity' and 'internal conflict' were positively related to 'self-disclosure'. 3. 'Self-disclosure' showed a significant difference according to interpersonal relations, meaning on nursing job and 'role conflict' showed a significant difference according to school career, present grade. Conclusion: this study suggested that there are need to implement self-disclosure training program for nursing student to decrease role conflict.
Problem Based Learning (PBL) is one of methods which has been developed to promote student-centered learning and to pursue self-directed learning for life-long learning. The purpose of this study is exploring the possibility of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in college Earth science course. The participants of this study were fourteen students attending an Earth science class at Sookmyung Women's University in Seoul. PBL was implemented in the form of group project with utilizing Web-based course tool. We provided questionnaires and conducted interviews to figure out students' perception about PBL. The findings were as follows: Through a given experiences, (1) students participated more actively than LBL (Lecture Based Learning), (2) more students were engaged with self-directed learning, and (3) students made higher cognitive efforts. LBL seemed to be more efficient way to acquire factual knowledge. In the meanwhile, PBL did not seem to affect the improvement of communication skills. Students could not make use of Web-based course tool effectively in communicating with other team members. In this study, we found that college student participants preferred problems related to everyday life, environmental issues and interesting but unusual incidents. On the other hand, they felt difficult in open-ended problems, especially when they were asked to provide their own evaluation. On the basis of PBL experiment in this paper, we present one method of successful implementation of PBL and suggest topics which should be studied in the future.
