  • A Rogowski coil can measure alternating currents from a few amps to over 1 million amps in a frequency range from less than 0.1 Hz to about lMhz. A Rogowski coil provides an induced output voltage which is proportional to the rate of change of the primary current enclosed by the flexible or the rigid coil-loop. Therefore, it is necessary to integrate the output voltage in order to produce a voltage proportional to the current. Also. it can reproduce the current waveform on an oscilloscope or any type of data acquisition device. This paper describes the practical design of the combination of a Rogowski coil and an integrator which provides a versatile current measuring system to accommodate a wide range of frequencies, current levels and conductor sizes.

  • The major part of SMES (Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage) system consist of the superconducting coil, cryostat and current lead, power converter. The 0.7MJ SMES coil was a design and manufacture by using SMES device that we developed a design code. A SMES coil was wound with high winding tension in order to prevent wire motion from Lorentz force. This paper described optimum design for the SMES coil.

  • A voice-coil-type LOA consists of the NdFeB permanent magnets with high specific energy as the stator, a coil-wrapped nonmagnetic hollow rectangular structure, and an iron core as a pathway for magnetic flux. When applying a voice-coil-type LOA to the control system, we have to obtain the control parameters and circuit parameters, such as mass, coil inductance, coil resistance, thrust voltage & stroke, frequency & stroke and so on. Therefore, these parameter were determined from the analytical and experimental method.

  • MPF(Magnetic pulse forming) process refers to the high velocity and high strain rate deformation of a low-ductility materials driven by electromagnetic forces that are generated by the rapid discharge current through forming coil. The goal of this study was to find the characteristics of dynamic behavior of workpiece and to find the main design process on MPF using bar forming coil. For these purposes, thin Al5053 sheet were used for the experiment. The measured strain data were analyzed by developed electromagnetic FE-model. The main design parameter is location of coil, electromagnetic force. In case of the bar forming coil, there exists the dead regions where the low electromagnetic force applied on the workpiece.

  • In this paper, we introduce a dual coil antenna which is useful for reducing the effects of radio frequency noise in an RFID system. A dual coil antenna is composed of two identical coils that are connected in series. The noise voltages in the two coils almost disappear when they are added because the magnitudes are equal and the polarities are opposite. The noise in an RFID reader with a dual coil antenna was 15 dB lower than that with a single coil antenna.

  • In this paper, it is object of design of high efficiency slotless BLDC motor using film coil. Slotless BLDC motor is able to have high efficiency property and low cogging torque, due to magnetization of stator core have constant contribution by slotless core. But it is difficult to make coil winding of slotless BLDC motor. So we make amateur of slotless BLDC motor using film coil. Film coil is fabricated by drilling, electro-plating and etching of copper/insulator/copper plate. In this paper, after design of slotless BLDC motor for moving axial blower, it is fabricated by NdFeB permanent magnet type rotor and film coil.

  • This paper investigates the force on a rectangular AC supercoducting coil moving above and parallel to a conducting plate of finite thickness. Expressions are developed for the levitation and drag forces on the coil a a function of speed and frequency. The levitation force are generated at all speed including stand still in a AC supercoducting coil. The levitation and drag forces on a rectangular AC supercoducting coil are compared with those on a rectangular DC supercoducting coil moving above and parallel to a conducting plate.

  • Voice Coil Motor is used linear motion actuator system that require precision positioning control. In order to control precision positioning of voice coil motor, Mathematical model of voice coil motor is needed. Mathematical model is obtained by combining voice coil motor's equation of motion with the equation of circuit and characteristic of voice coil motor. The induced model can predict output displacement according to duty ratio and amplitude. The model is verified by experimental test. Simulated results have tracking errors of less than 10 percent of experimental results.

  • This paper presents the results of experimental studies of the mechanical characteristics of the Coil Spring and Viscous Damper system. The Coil Spring and Viscous Damper systems were selected for the isolation of Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) which is located in Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). The Coil Spring and Viscous Damper systems were developed for, the operating vibration isolation and seismic isolation for scaled Model EDG System. The damping properties of the viscous damper changes as the variation of velocity. As a results, nonlinear damping characteristics of viscous damper system were evaluated.

  • This study proposes a receiving pad identification coil for wireless charging of electric vehicles. The proposed coil identifies the shape of the receiving pad through magnetic coupling with the receiving pad. Therefore, the shape of the coil is designed to show the different magnetic properties of each receiving pad. The accuracy of this design is verified through finite element method simulation. Furthermore, the operation method of the secondary pad identification circuit is described, and the appropriate magnitude and length of the pulse voltage applied to this circuit for receiving pad identification are derived through simulation. The performance of the proposed identification coil set is verified by the experimental results.
