영어의 수의적 주어 현상의 인지적 양상 (A Cognitive Aspect of Optional Subjecthood in English)

  • 이 논문의 목표는 첫째, 고대, 중세, 현대 영어에 나타나는 수의적 주어 현상을 다양한 문헌에 기초하여 기술적으로 자세히 고찰하고 역사적 변화에 대한 동기를 살펴보며, 둘째, 최근 영어사 연구에서 큰 역할을 하고 있는 인지적 제약(constraints)에 기반하여 수의적 주어 현상의 역사적 변화에 대한 원리적인 설명을 하는 것이다. 영어사에서 두 유형의 주어 생략-영 주어(pro) 탈락과 등위절 주어-이 고대, 중세, 및 현대 영어에 나타났는데, 고대 영어는 풍부한 굴절 체계의 영향으로 영주어 탈락과 등위절 주어 생략이 다 같이 나타났고, 굴절이 많이 약화된 중세영어에는 여전히 이 두 현상이 나타났으나 발생정도가 점점 감소 추세였으며, 따라서 소유격과 대명사를 제외하고는 굴절이 상실된 현대 영어에서는 영주어 탈락과 등위절 주어 생략 그 자체가 거의 사라지게 되었다. 이 논문에서는 영어발달사적 관점에서 고대, 중세, 현대 영어의 주어 생략현상이 문법적 측면에서 세 가지 제약들의 위계(hierarchy) 변화로 발생하였고, 형태적 측면에서는 굴절체계의 변화로 발생하였음을 보였다.

Research on Effective Information Visualization Method Based on Mobile Web

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to recognize the role and necessity of public data visualization through prior research, investigation, and data verification processes. In addition, this study intends to check what factors should be considered in order to visualize data on the mobile web. Through this process, by identifying the cognitive load affecting information visualization by type, as a result, I would like to propose an effective information visualization method to effectively deliver public data related to government policies. Research design, data and methodology: In this study, we analyzed the case of information visualization according to infographics, which has been widely used in the public field among various visualization methods. For this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted for young people in their 20s and 30s with the highest mobile usage rate. Results: Based on the results, IPA (Importance Performance Analysis) was performed to conduct cognitive load test tools for information visualization of public data and confirmed the implications for each type of infographics. Conclusions: As a result of research, in order to efficiently deliver public data on the mobile web, first, it is necessary to construct a visual screen that can be easily identified through clear data. Appropriate graphic elements can be used according to the type to make it easier for users to acquire and understand information. Second, it is necessary to provide useful content in visualizing information. Third, in order to efficiently transmit information and increase understanding of data, it is necessary to visualize information that can induce interest in data and form metaphors. Fourth, it is necessary to visualize information to reduce cognitive load in terms of physical and mental aspects in order to accommodate users' comfortable information. Fifth, in order to effectively deliver public data, it is necessary to compose contents and information that are easy for users to understand. This study examines effective information visualization methods to increase the communication effect of public data in response to changes in the data-based intelligent information society and suggests implications for each type considering cognitive loads to help future public institutions to communicate and accept information.

웹 기반 학습자의 메타인지수준별 학습활동분석 -간호학 대학원 학생을 중심으로- (A Study on Interaction Pattern, Learning Attitude, Task Performance by Meta-cognitive Level in Web-Based Learning)

  • Purpose: Level of meta-cognition of students has been regarded as one of the crucial factors on web-based learning. This study aimed to describe interaction type in small group discussion of the nursing graduate students and to investigate learning consequences and interaction types in group discussion on meta-cognition level. Method: Twenty six graduate nursing students attending the class on-line at the K university in Seoul were included in the study. We measured their meta-cognition level and learning attitude. We also scored their individual and group reports as well as analyzed interaction type by reviewing the dialogue of the group discussion. Results: The participants showed low frequency of exploratory interaction and high frequency of integrative interaction in the cognitive interaction category. They showed frequent modification interaction in the meta-cognitive interaction category. Interestingly, the students with lower level of meta-cognition achieved significantly greater scores in the individual assignments. High functioning group consisting of the students with high meta-cognitive level produced greater group report. Conclusion: A new strategy is needed to encourage in-depth interaction in a group discussion of nursing students. Meta-cognitive level of the students should be considered to form a small group for discussion in order to improve group activities.

구조적 정렬: 개념적 시사점과 한계 (Structural Alignment: Conceptual Implications and Limitations)

  • 유사성은 인지구조와 그 처리과정을 설명하는 중요한 개념으로 알려져 있으며 유사성 비교과정을 설명하기 위해 제안된 대표적인 초기모형으로는 다차원 척도모형(Shepard, 1964; Nosofsky, 1991)과 대비모형(Tversky, 1977)이 있다. 그러나 초기 모형에 의해 설명되기 어려운 경험적 연구결과들이 발표되면서 유사성의 개념적 타당성에 대한 의문이 제기되었다. Goldstone(1994)은 유사성이 속성차원간의 정렬과정에서 정의된다고 가정하고, 구조적 정렬 개념을 유사성을 둘러싼 개념적 논쟁들을 해결할 수 있는 유망한 대안으로 제안하였다. 본 연구에서는 우선 초기 유사성모형들의 기본 가정과 알고리즘을 개관한 후 속성차원에 대한 선택적 주의의 임의성이나 속성차원들 사이에 존재하는 상관적 구조와 같이 초기 유사성 모형들에 의해 설명되기 어려운 개념적 문제들을 살펴보았다. 그리고 SIAM(Goldston,, 1994)의 개념적 특징과 알고리즘을 알아본 후 구조적 정렬 개념이 범주화, 명사결합, 유추 추리 등의 인지심리학 분야들에 어떻게 적용되었는지를 개관하였다. 끝으로 자료 주도적 처리와 대안적 처리과정의 가능성과 관련된 SIAM의 한계점을 검토하고 가능한 발전방향에 대해 논의하였다.

Resource Allocation in Spectrum Sharing ad-hoc Cognitive Radio Networks Based on Game Theory: An Overview

  • The traditional approach of fixed spectrum allocation to licensed networks has resulted in spectrum underutilisation. Cognitive radio technology is envisioned as a promising solution that can be used to resolve the ineffectiveness of the fixed spectrum allocation policy by accessing the underutilised spectrum of existing technologies opportunistically. The implementation of cognitive radio networks (CRNs) faces distinct challenges due to the fact that two systems (i.e., cognitive radio (CR) and primary users (PUs)) with conflicting interests interact with each other. Specially, in self-organised systems such as ad-hoc CRNs (AHCRNs), the coordination of spectrum access introduces challenges to researchers due to rapid utilisation changes in the available spectrum, as well as the multi-hop nature of ad-hoc networks, which creates additional challenges in the analysis of resource allocation (e.g., power control, channel and rate allocation). Instead, game theory has been adopted as a powerful mathematical tool in analysing and modelling the interaction processes of AHCRNs. In this survey, we first review the most fundamental concepts and architectures of CRNs and AHCRNs. We then introduce the concepts of game theory, utility function, Nash equilibrium and pricing techniques. Finally, we survey the recent literature on the game theoretic analysis of AHCRNs, highlighting its applicability to the physical layer PHY, the MAC layer and the network layer.

Computational Thinking 기반의 인공지능교육 프레임워크 및 인지적학습환경 설계 (Designing the Instructional Framework and Cognitive Learning Environment for Artificial Intelligence Education through Computational Thinking)

  • 본 연구에서는 Computational Thinking기반의 인공지능교육을 위한 프레임워크와 인지적 학습환경 구성의 절차를 구현하고자 하였으며, 추후 인공지능교육을 위한 교육과정 설계의 이론적 근거를 제시하고자 하였다. 연구의 결과를 토대로 데이터수집 및 발견의 단계에서 추상화 과정을 통해 알고리즘과 문제해결의 모형을 선택하는 학습모형을 제시하였고 이를 자동화하여 평가하는 단계를 기반으로 문제해결 및 예측하는 과정을 수행함으로써 인공지능을 활용한 문제해결력을 기를 수 있는 Computational Thinking 기반 AI의 교수학습모형을 제시하였다. 인공지능교육에 대한 인지적 학습환경과 관련된 연구를 분석하여 Computational Thinking의 핵심 사고과정 중 하나인 추상화의 단계를 중심으로 절차를 구성하였으며, Agency(학습보조)에서 Modeling(인지적 구조화)으로의 전이를 토대로 학습구성의 단계를 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 인공지능교육의 프레임워크와 인지적 학습환경 구성의 절차는 Computational Thinking을 기반으로 제시되었다는 점에서 특징을 갖고 있으며 추후 인공지능기반 교수학습연구의 근간이 될 것으로 기대한다.

사고-행동 융합과 인지적 융합의 개념적 이해 : 강박증을 중심으로 (Conceptual Understanding of Thought-Action Fusion and Cognitive Fusion : Focus on Obsessive-Compulsive Symptoms)

  • Thought-action fusion (TAF) is a tendency to blindly assume causal relations between their thoughts and external reality. On the other hand, cognitive fusion (CF) is a tendency to take internal experiences, such as thoughts and feeling, literally rather than view them as random events. However, these two terms are often confusedly used and, in fact, have conceptual overlaps. Therefore, this study aimed to identify their distinctive features through a comprehensive review of the definition, origin, measurements and clinical implications especially on the understanding of obsessive-compulsive symptoms. The cognitive-behavioral concept of TAF is confined to erroneous and maladaptive beliefs about the connection between thoughts and behaviors. The CF is a broader construct that entails taking thoughts and feelings as facts and engaging or struggling with them such that the quality of life is lowered. They also have different theoretical backgrounds, developing processes and therapeutic approaches. From the perspective of the obsessive-compulsive disorder, both concepts have been studied as mid-structures for this illness. Recently, the effectiveness of psychological therapies related to these concepts such as defusion therapy has been tested. However, it is yet still in its infancy. In the future, complementary advances between the two concepts with studies on biological substrates is needed.

한국어판 불안한 느낌과 사고에 대한 믿음성 질문지의 심리측정적 특성 (Psychometric Properties of the Korean Version of the Believability of Anxious Feelings and Thoughts Questionnaire (K-BAFT))

  • Objective : Cognitive fusion, or believability, in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), refers to the tendency to become entangled in one's thoughts or feelings. It is an important factor in the development and maintenance of anxiety disorders. However, there is a lack of validated self-report measures for cognitive fusion and defusion, particularly for individuals with anxiety. To address this gap, this study aimed to evaluate the Korean Version of Believability of Anxious Feelings and Thoughts Questionnaire (K-BAFT). Methods : A total of 608 university students and 85 patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) took part in this study. They were asked to complete various psychological measures, including the K-BAFT, other measures of ACT processes, and symptom scales. The researchers then analyzed the psychometric characteristics of the K-BAFT. Results : The results of the exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses indicated that the three-factor structure of the K-BAFT, which was reported in the original study, was also found in the university sample. Additionally, both the student and the OCD group demonstrated strong internal consistency (α=0.86 and 0.91, respectively). In the university sample, the K-BAFT showed a strong correlation with the Cognitive Fusion Questionnaire (rs=0.53, p<0.001). However, it had a weak correlation with symptoms scales for depression, anxiety, and stress (all rs<0.32). Furthermore, the OCD group had higher scores on the K-BAFT compared to the university sample. Conclusion : K-BAFT is considered to be a reliable and valid self-report tool for measuring cognitive fusion with anxious thoughts and feelings.

인지 진단 이론을 활용한 중학교 과학 시험 결과의 분석 (Analysis of Test Result at Secondary Science Using Cognitive Diagnosis theory)

  • 본 연구는 인지 진단 이론을 활용하여 과학 시험 결과를 분석하는 방안을 모색하고자 하는 목적 하에 실시되었다. 중학교 2학년을 대상으로 한 시험 문항을 개발하여 평가를 실시하였고, Fusion Model을 이용하여 시험 결과를 분석하였다. 결과를 분석하기 위해 문항별로 학생들이 문항을 풀기 위해 숙달해야 할 속성을 판별하여 Q 행렬을 작성한 후 분석을 실시하여 속성에 대한 문항 모수의 수렴을 확인하고 학생 전체와 성별, 성취수준별로 숙달한 속성과 그 속성의 개수를 분석하였다. 전통적인 평가가 학생들의 성취도 총점만을 제공하는 반면 인지 진단 이론은 평가에서 측정된 과학적 속성의 숙달 여부에 대한 정보를 제공해 주었다. 여학생은 남학생에 비해 회상하기의 능력이 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 분석결과 회상하기, 정보 해석하기, 계산하기 설명하기, 종합하기의 5개 속성 중에서 학생들이 가장 많이 숙달한 속성은 정보 해석하기였으며 가장 적게 숙달한 속성은 종합하기였다. 분석 결과 얻어진 프로파일은 교사들에게 학생 개개인의 과학적 능력에 대한 정보를 구체적으로 제공해 줄 수 있으므로 이 결과는 학생들의 과학 학습에 대한 진단과 처방, 추후 학습 지도에 유용한 정보로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

An Experimental Implementation of a Cross-Layer Approach for Improving TCP Performance over Cognitive Radio Networks

  • In cognitive radio networks (CRNs), the performance of the transmission control protocol (TCP) at the secondary user (SU) severely drops due to the mistrigger of congestion control. A long disruption is caused by the transmission of primary user, leading to the mistrigger. In this paper, we propose a cross-layer approach, called a CR-aware scheme that enhances TCP performance at the SU. The scheme is a sender side addition to the standard TCP (i.e., TCP-NewReno), and utilizes an explicit cross-layer signal delivered from a physical (or link) layer and the signal gives an indication of detecting the primary transmission (i.e., transmission of the primary user). We evaluated our scheme by implementing it onto a software radio platform, the Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP), where many parts of lower layer operations (i.e., operations in a link or physical layer) run as user processes. In our implementation, we ran our CR-aware scheme over IEEE 802.15.4. Furthermore, for the purpose of comparison, we implemented a selective ACK-based local recovery scheme that helps TCP isolate congestive loss from a random loss in a wireless section.
