An Analysis of Structural Relationship Among the Attitude Toward Science, Science Motivation, Self-Regulated Learning Strategy, and Science Achievement in Middle School Students (중학생의 과학에 대한 태도, 과학 학습 동기 및 자기조절학습 전략과 과학 학업성취도의 구조적 관계 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the structural relationships among the attitude toward science and science motivation such as affective characteristics, and self-regulated learning strategy such as cognitive factor of science achievement. 853 middle school students residing in Seoul completed questionnaires about attitude toward science, science motivation, and self-regulated learning strategy. The sample variance-covariance matrix was analysed using AMOS 20.0, and a maximum likelihood minimization function. The results are as follows: First, attitude toward science, science motivation and self-regulated learning strategy of middle school students were all found to have a significant direct effect on science achievement. Second, attitude toward science and science motivation in middle school students has a direct effect on the self-regulated learning strategy. Third, attitude toward science in middle school students has a substantial indirect effect on science achievement mediated by their self-regulated learning strategy. Forth, science motivation in middle school students has indirect effect on science achievement mediated by their self-regulated learning strategy. Therefore, in order to improve science achievement among middle school students, teachers should consider synthetically the affective characteristics such as attitude toward science and science motivation, and cognitive factor such as self-regulated learning strategy.

The Effects of High Class Korean Restaurants' Servicescape on Customers' Emotional Response and Intention to Revisit (고급한식당 서비스스케이프가 고객감정반응과 재방문의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of high class korean restaurants' servicescape on customers' emotional response and intention to revisit. This study also examined the relationship among emotional and cognitive reactions and intention to revisit. A total of 216 questionnaires were analyzed using the factor analysis, reliability test, and structural equation modeling analysis. The results revealed that space, aesthetics and comfortableness were positively related to emotional reaction, and convenience and cleanliness were related to cognitive reaction. This study also found that intention to revisit was positively related to emotional and cognitive reactions. Moreover, it was found that think was positively related to emotional reaction, and feel, think, act and the related were positively related to cognitive reaction. Finally, cognitive reaction was positively related to revisit. The results of the study suggested that high-class Korean restaurant marketers should introduce or strengthen servicescape, brand reputation and experiences, which increased brand attitude or revisit.

Objectives The purpose of this case is to report that a Soeumin patient with cognitive disorder from traumatic head injury needed to be managed with the consideration of the difference of Nature and Emotion(性情). 2. Methods To evaluate the patient's cognition disorder and mental state, we performed the MMSE(Mini-Mental State Examination) and the MMPI(Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory). and he was diagnosed as Soeumin and treated by Kwakhyangchungki-san(藿香正氣散) mainly. 3. Results and Conclusions (1) In this case, we observed specifically-biased Nature and Emotion(性情) of Soeumin like ‘恒欲處而不欲出’, ‘恒欲爲雌而不欲爲雄’, ‘喜別人之助己也’. ‘喜好不定’, ‘不安定之心’ (2) The management of Soeumin with cognitive disorder from traumatic head injury is that he or she should live together his or her family, and have an active manner with a generous and broad-minded mental attitude. (3) A therapist must give a patient mental support and inspire him or her with courage. (4) The deviation of Nature and Emotion(性情) should be taken into consideration when we manage the patient with cognitive disorder from traumatic head injury.

A study on physical activities by applying a social cognitive theory (사회인지이론을 적용한 신체활동에 관한 문헌고찰)

  • This study attempted to extract a suggestive point to help the design of a program, which is used to promote physical activities, by applying a social cognitive theory based on literature review on the physical activity based on a social cognitive theory. This study considers 10 journal articles that used a social cognitive theory, physical activity, and exercise as the major variable using the EBSCOhost Academic Search Premier and Educator's Reference Desk (ERIC). The type of papers was analyzed using a certain criterion, which can be configured according to the number of each year's papers, characteristics of research subjects, application type of a social cognitive theory, and classification of the application of objects in a social cognitive theory. The characteristics of each year's papers presented no specific characteristics for each year's papers, but the study in 2004 especially presented a high level. The characteristics of research subjects presented four highest cases in the case of the college student, and there were zero cases for children. The application type of studies on physical activities using a social cognitive theory can be largely classified as three types. The results of the measurement using a sectional investigation for SCT objects were 2 cases, the application of SCT for promoting physical activities was 1 case, and the demonstration of evaluation for the effect of SCT objects presented 8 highest cases. Although the social cognitive theory in the characteristics of the classification of object applications can be classified as 10 objects, there were no cases that used 10 all objects, partial applications of the object were measured in 8 studies, and two cases presented no detailed considerations on the object. Most of studies used a part of the object where the application of self-efficacy were measured by 8 highest cases. In addition, there were no measurements on the situation, observation learning, answer and response, and self-management. The elements of attitude, cognitive activity, self-efficacy, and handicaps among the SCT object were commonly used, and studies that the self-efficacy largely affects on the promotion of physical activities presented the main current.

The Effects of Behavioral Characteristics and Maternal Variables on Children's Maladjustment Capacity (유아의 교육기관 부적응행동에 대한 유아 및 어머니 변인간의 상호작용 효과에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the personal traits of children's characteristics as well as those of mothers' on the children's maladjustment behaviors. The study subjects were 345 preschooler-mother pairs. Results revealed that boys exhibited more maladjustment behaviors than girls, as expected. The results of a three way ANOVA analyses indicated that the multiple interactive factors of the children's temperament, cognitive outcomes, and parenting attitudes significantly affected the children's maladjustment behaviors. This trend was only representative across the sample of boys. In this study, the interaction effects of negative parenting attitudes and the children's lower levels of cognitive development on the children's maladjustment capacity were accentuated among boys with temperamental vulnerability.

  • This study compares the relative effectiveness of affective factor(Ad attitude) and cognitive factor(Brand cognition) on brand attitude among three ad types - direct comparative, indirect comparative, and noncomparative ads. The results showed that in direct comparative advertising context the brand cognition is dominant in determining brand attitude. In indirect comparative advertising context brand cognition is also dominant in determining brand attitude, but the difference is less than direct comparative advertising. In noncomparative advertising context the ads attitude is dominant in determining brand attitude. According to research outcomes, it could be said that direct comparative advertising is more effective than indirect comparative advertising.

  • This study compares the relative effectiveness of affective factor(Ad attitude) and cognitive factor(candidate cognition) on candidate attitude among three ad types - direct comparative, indirect comparative, and noncomparative ads. The results showed that in direct comparative advertising context the candidate cognition is dominant in determining candidate attitude. In indirect comparative advertising context candidate cognition is also dominant in determining candidate attitude, but the difference is less than direct comparative advertising. In noncomparative advertising context the ads attitude is dominant in determining candidate attitude. According to research outcomes, it could be said that direct comparative advertising is more effective than indirect comparative advertising in political advertising area.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors affecting social work majoring undergraduates' attitude to human rights. The subjects were sampled from four universities in Kyeonggi-do. A survey was conducted through self-report questionnaires and a total of 362 questionnaires were employed for statistical analysis. As a result of the analysis, the factors affecting undergraduate's attitude to human rights were economic status of demographic factors, cognitive and emotional empathy, social support of psychological factors, cognition of Universal Declaration of Human Rights, education experience of human rights, minorities' experience of human rights violation and participative activity of education/experience factors. Based on this result, it was suggested that practical and participative education is needed to develop undergraduate's attitude to human rights.

  • This research aims to understand the common psychological features of consumer. And master the direction of the development of the network novels derivation by analysis the TV plays adapted from network novels in China's IP industry. To this end, This research determine to analyzed consumer adoption attitude the Behavior Intention of derivative products. The date were collected from 612 Chinese people, from October 15 to October 22 2018. Statistical analysis were through SPSS 21 after data coding and data cleanings process. This research performed frequency analysis exploratory factor analysis, Independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, post-analysis Duncan test, correlation analysis and mass regression analysis. The research results are as follows. Firstly, the characteristics(topicality, empathy and interest) of network novel TV play positively related role in the adoption attitudes(cognitive attitude and emotional attitude) of derivatives commodities. At the same time, identity has a more positively related influence than topicality and interest. Secondly, all the characteristics of network novels consisting of topicality, identity and interest play positive related roles in the behavioral intentions of derivative commodities. Thirdly, emotional attitude plays a more positively related role in purchasing intention and recommendation intention compared with cognitive attitude. It is hoped that the research results can play a fundamental role in the production and development of network novels derivatives.

An Analysis of Structural Relationship among the Self-Regulated Learning Strategy, Attitude toward Science, Scientific Self-Efficacy, and Science Core Competency in Middle School Students (중학생의 자기조절학습 전략, 과학에 대한 태도, 과학적 자기효능감과 과학 핵심역량의 구조적 관계 분석)

  • This study aimed to identify structural relationships among variables by examining the direct and indirect effects of cognitive factors such as self-regulated learning strategy and definitional factors such as attitude toward science and scientific self-efficacy on science core competency in middle school students. To this end, the researcher examined the causal relationships among the variables using data from 438 students in all grades at S middle school in a metropolitan city. The results showed that middle school students' self-regulated learning strategy, attitude toward science, and scientific self-efficacy had a direct effect on science core competency, and that self-regulated learning strategy had a direct effect on attitude toward science and scientific self-efficacy. In addition, middle school students' self-regulated learning strategy had an indirect effect on science core competency through attitude toward science and scientific self-efficacy. Therefore, it is necessary to educate students from a comprehensive perspective that considers cognitive factors such as self-regulated learning strategy and defining factors such as attitude toward science and scientific self-efficacy in order to foster science core competency in middle school students.
