피복된 판재의 성형에서 마찰특성에 관한 연구 (An Experimental Study on Friction Characteristics in Pre-Coated Sheet Metal Forming)

  • An experimental study has been performed to investigate friction characteristics of pre-coated metals widely used in domestic appliances. Seven-coated sheet metals are tested by using three friction mechanism such as straight pulling, frictionless roller, and non-rotational roller with three kinds of cylindrical rollers. In this experiment, effects of friction mechanism, blank thickness, and roller diameter on friction coefficient, surface roughness, and scoring factor have been investigated From the experimental results, it has been found that tested pre-coated sheet metals have low friction coefficients ($\mu$ = 0.15~0.20) because films coated on sheets take a role of lubricants. Friction coefficients of pre-coated metals decrease with increasing roller-diameters. Surface of pre-coated metals can be improved by decreasing the blank thickness

  • By the used of a similar numerical method as in the previous paper, the forming limit stain of coatedsheet metals is investigated in which the FEM is applied and J2G(J/sab 2/-Gotoh's corner theory) is utilized as the plasticity constitutive equation. Coated two-layer sheets and sheets bonded with dissimilar sheets on both surface planes are stetched in a plane-strain atate, with various work-hardening exponent n-values and thicknesses of each layer. Processes of shear-band formation in such composite sheets are clearly illustrated. It is concluded that, in the coated state, the higher limiting strain of one layer is reduced due to the lower limiting stain of the other layer and vice, and does not necessarily obey the rule of linear combination of the limiting stain of each layer weighted according thickness.

ITO/Ag/ITO 투명전도막의 전기적 특성 (Electrical Properties of ITO/Ag/ITO Conducting Transparent Thin Films)

  • The multi-layered thin film with an ITO/Ag/ITO structure was produced on PET by using magnetron reactive sputtering method. First, 30 nm of ITO thin film was coated on PET by using normal temperature process. Then 20-52 nm of the Ag thin film was coated. Lastly, 30 nm of ITO thin film was coated on Ag layer. The sample of the 20 nm Ag thin film showed more than 70% transmission and a $2.7{\Omega}/{\Box}$ sheet resistance. When compared to the existing single-layered transparent conducting thin film, multi-layered film was found to be superior with about $5{\Omega}/{\Box}$ less sheet resistance. However, since the Ag layer became thinner, the band gap energy needs to be increased to more than 3.5 eV.

고효율 전자파 차폐를 위한 이종금속 코팅 탄소섬유 개발 (Development of Hybrid Metals Coated Carbon Fibers for High-Efficient Electromagnetic Interference Shielding)

  • 본 연구에서는 향상된 내구성을 가진 고효율 전자파차폐용 랜덤배향 시트 소재를 개발하기 위해 구리(Copper: Cu)와 니켈 (Nickel: Ni)이 코팅된 탄소섬유(Carbon fiber: CF)와 같은 하이브리드 소재를 습식공정을 통해 제조 하였다. 제조된 시트 소재는 69.4~93.0 dB의 높은 전자파 차폐효율을 보여주었다. 또한 하이브리드 금속으로 코팅된 Ni-Cu/CFs 시트는 Ni표면의 유효한 부식저항성과 기계적 저항성 때문에 가혹한 화학적/열적 환경하에서 매우 우수한 내구성을 보여주었다. 이와 관련하여 Ni-Cu/CF 시트는 Cu/CF 시트와 비교하여 1.7배 긴 수명을 가지는 것을 확인하였다.

2024 Al합금과 아연도금강판의 점용접에 관한 품질평가 (The Quality Evaluation on Resistance Spot Welding of 2024 Aluminum Alloy and Zinc Coated Steel)

  • Resistance spot welding has been widely used in the sheet metal joining processes because of low cost, high productivity and convenience. Recently, automobile and aerospace industries are trying to replace partly steel sheets with aluminum alloy sheets. But in the case of dissimilar materials, to apply resistance spot welding has been known to be very difficult owing to the effect of melting temperature. On this study, an effort was made to apply spot welding of dissimilar sheet metals, 2024 aluminum alloy and zinc coated steel sheet, evaluate the spot weld quality with tensile-shear strength test and nondestructive evaluation technique, C-scan image methodology. In this study results, as the current below 11 kA, melting of materials is not achieved well. Also as the current exceeds to 13.5 kA, the more spatters happen at welded zone and tensile-shear strength lowered. So, the feasibility of C-scan image technique proposed in the study is found to be suitable evaluation method for resistance spot weldability.

  • The drawbead is an important part in sheet metal forming for automotive part and its effect is affected by various process parameters. Therefore in this study, drawbead friction test was performed at various process parameters - panels (cold rolled and galvanized sheet steel), lubricants (having three different viscosities), bead materials(steel, iron) and surface treatment of bead (Cr plating). Circular shape bead has been used for the test. The results show that friction and drawing characteristics were mainly influenced by the nature of zinc coating, viscosity of lubricants, surface treatment of a bead and hardness of coated layer.

박판 알루미늄 도금강판의 플라즈마 용접성에 미치는 용접조건 및 롤러의 영향 (Effect of Welding Condition and Roller on Weldability of Al Coated Steel Sheet using Plasma Arc Welding)

  • Al-coated steel sheets with excellent heat and corrosion resistance are widely used in various applications. In welding of thin plate, some defects such as unmelted zone and metal-through occur easily in the beginning and ending of welding line. In the study, the welding defects in Al-coated steel sheets were investigated with respect to plasma arc current, height between Cu block and base metals, and using a roller to align the height of the base metal. Full penetration and voids free welds were obtained with a plasma arc current 52A and weld speed 2.3m/min. An unmelted zone increased and Ericshen rate decreased as the height between Cu block and base metal increased from 0 to 0.6mm. Using a roller moving ahead of the plasma arc, the length of unmelted zone decreased from 1.7mm to 0.5mm.

  • The mechanical joining process of a sheet metal pair has been developed in order to replace the resistance spot welding process in case that joining of mechanically unweldable materials and coated sheet metals with different thickness are needed. Form-joining or clinching, a kind of mechanical joining process, is defined as joining process of a sheet metal pair by geometric constraint imposed by plastic deformation of workpieces without any additive part. It has been reported that the joining strength by commercial form-joining apparatus is 50∼70 percent of that by resistance spot welding. Therefore, a two-step form-joining process with a secondary punch is proposed. The device is designed to improve the joining strength by increasing the geometric constraint of the deformed shape by combining a primary punch, a secondary punch and a female die. In order to verify the improved joining strength by the designed process, the tensile-shear strength, the peel-tension strength and the asymmetric peel-tension strength are compared with those by the TOX process and resistance spot welding.
