제 3중족-외측 설상 관절에서 발생한 비골성 족근골 결합: 증례 보고 (Non-osseous Coalition of the Third Metatarsal-Lateral Cuneiform Joint: A Case Report)

  • This paper reports a rare case of the symptomatic third metatarsal (MT3) - lateral cuneiform (LC) in a 55-year-old male who presented with complaints of severe intermittent pain in his right foot. Plain radiographs and computed tomography scans revealed sclerosis and irregularity at this joint. The intraoperative findings demonstrated a fibrocartilaginous coalition. The pain had improved one year after removing the MT3-LC joint by en bloc and arthrodesis.

  • 본 연구는 중소기업의 측면에서 산학협동 참여 행동에 영향을 미치는 요인을 조사하였다. 광주, 전남지역의 375 중소기업을 대상으로 실증분석 조사하였으며 대상기업의 제품디자인 최근 상황을 시장에서의 경쟁적 지위 측면에서 조사하였다. 연구결과는 대상기업들이 대학과의 산학협동 활동은 매우 적으나 제품디자인 개발을 목적으로 대학과 긴밀한 관계구축을 원하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 산학협동 연구 및 공동개발을 희망하는 기업과 희망하지 않는 기업을 구분시키는 요인을 조사하기 위하여 다양한 t-검증을 실시하였다. 그 결과 경제수단으로서 디자인의 중요성을 인식, 현재의 디자인 능력수준, 디자인 관련특허권 보유 유무가 산학협동 참여 의사에 큰 영향을 미치고 있다고 나타났다. 본 연구는 중소기업과 대학 간의 산학협동을 높일 수 있는 방안을 제시하는데 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다.

영국, 미국, 한국의 줄기세포연구에 관한 정책변동 비교 분석: Advocacy Coalition Framework 모형의 적용 (Comparative Analysis of Stem Cell Research Policy Changes in UK, US, and South Korea: Application of Advocacy Coalition Framework Model)

  • Background: Stem cell research competition is accelerating globally since President Obama signed an executive order, repealing Bush-era policy that limited use of federal tax dollars for embryonic stem cell research. Methods: In this paper, we conducted a comparative analysis of stem cell research policy changes in three countries, including the Human Fertilisation Embryology Act (HFEA) of UK, executive order 13,505 (removing barriers to responsible scientific research involving human stem cells) of USA, and Bioethics and Safety Act of South Korea. Debates on stem cell research are based on conflicts of fundamental beliefs that exist in the supporting and opposing coalitions. We compared regional characteristics of the advocacy coalitions in three countries and presented various factors that might be related to the policy changes. Results: The UK government, parliament, and the HFEA have sought expert consultations and public opinions to establish guidelines. UK has made social consensus through continued discussion for a long time. US President's veto power was one strongest factors influencing policy. South Korean policy was influenced by public opinion and policy brokers. Also, South Korea has not made social consensus. UK had a strong leadership and strong adjustment of coalitions but US and South Korea had not. Dr. Hwang's scandal has had one of the greatest impacts on policy decision in South Korea. Conclusion: The power of public opinion was critical in all three countries. In particular, the influence of public opinion was noticeable in South Korea. Also it turned out that in US and South Korea, the presence of a policy broker who could pursue his or her goals was the most powerful factor among the advocacy coalition factors.

Globalization of Engineering Education in Asia

  • The Asian Conference on Engineering Education has organized and is held in Busan. This paper tells the steps for the process of planning of this conference. Firstly, the Innovation Center for Engineering Education in Korea Maritime University and the Center for Innovation and Creativity Development in The University of Tokushima signed the mutual interchange agreement on engineering education in 2005. The interrelation of both centers has made a continuous relation by mutual visiting of teachers and students. The first symposium on engineering education between the two universities was held in 2006. Three symposia were succeeded until now. By the way, the Japanese five-university coalition of engineering education was composed in 2004. This five-university coalition annually held the symposium on engineering education. Two teachers and two students of each university participated in the symposium and introduced their activities. Annual symposium was held every year from 2004 to 2008. Based on these two kinds of symposium, we have planned to enlarge the relationship by including partner universities in both countries. The capstone design coalition on engineering education between the Center for Innovation and Creativity Development in the University of Tokushima and the innovation center for engineering education in Korea Maritime University are introduced. The interrelation of both centers has held by mutual visiting of teachers and students during four years. The capstone design activities of Korea Maritime University and the students' creative design projects of the University of Tokushima were introduced each other. This coalition is planned that it needs to be enlarged by including partner universities in Asian countries.

방송통신위원회 설립 과정의 특성 분석 : 옹호연합의 전략적 행동을 중심으로 (Analysis of the Korea Communications Commission establishment process : Focusing on Strategic behavior of Advocacy coalition)

  • 본 연구는 2008년 방송통신위원회 설립 과정에서 방송 옹호연합과 정보통신 옹호연합의 전략적 행동을 분석하여 정부조직개편 과정에 대한 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 방송통신융합기구 논의가 왜 장기적인 경쟁과 대립을 겪었는지를 파악하기 위해 방송통신융합정책의 특성을 분석하였다. 방송통신융합정책은 방송 영역과 정보통신 영역간 공익성과 산업성이라는 상충된 이념과 이해관계가 존재하고 있어 장기간 대립 상황에 놓일 수밖에 없었다. 두 영역은 기구개편 논의 과정에서 옹호연합을 형성하여 유리한 결과를 얻기 위하여 전략적 행동을 취했고, 개편 논의는 두 옹호연합간 전략적 행동이 어우러지며 진전되고 있었다. 그러나 정권 교체와 함께 기존의 논의는 무색해지고 개편안은 정치적 협상에 의해 마무리되었다. 정치 논리에 의해 설립된 방송통신위원회는 이후 정치권에 의해 좌지우지되는 모습을 보이며 정책 실패 사례를 양산하며 조직 개편의 부작용을 드러냈다. 이러한 부작용을 최소화하기 위해 조직개편 과정에서 정치성을 최소화하는 제도적 장치의 마련이 필요하며 무엇보다 조직개편을 정치 도구로 사용하는 관행을 극복하는 노력이 필요하다.

Coalition based Optimization of Resource Allocation with Malicious User Detection in Cognitive Radio Networks

  • Cognitive radio (CR) technology is an effective solution to the spectrum scarcity issue. Collaborative spectrum sensing is known as a promising technique to improve the performance of spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks (CRNs). However, collaborative spectrum sensing is vulnerable to spectrum data falsification (SSDF) attack, where malicious users (MUs) may send false sensing data to mislead other secondary users (SUs) to make an incorrect decision about primary user (PUs) activity, which is one of the key adversaries to the performance of CRNs. In this paper, we propose a coalition based malicious users detection (CMD) algorithm to detect the malicious user in CRNs. The proposed CMD algorithm can efficiently detect MUs base on the Geary'C theory and be modeled as a coalition formation game. Specifically, SSDF attack is one of the key issues to affect the resource allocation process. Focusing on the security issues, in this paper, we analyze the power allocation problem with MUs, and propose MUs detection based power allocation (MPA) algorithm. The MPA algorithm is divided into two steps: the MUs detection step and the optimal power allocation step. Firstly, in the MUs detection step, by the CMD algorithm we can obtain the MUs detection probability and the energy consumption of MUs detection. Secondly, in the optimal power allocation step, we use the Lagrange dual decomposition method to obtain the optimal transmission power of each SU and achieve the maximum utility of the whole CRN. Numerical simulation results show that the proposed CMD and MPA scheme can achieve a considerable performance improvement in MUs detection and power allocation.

발목부상을 당한 석고환자의 발꿈치뼈·목말받침돌기 관찰을 위한 Broden 촬영법 연구 (Broden photographing method for Calcaneus Subtentaculum tali observation of Ankle plaster patient)

  • 발목 병변을 관찰하는 단순 방사선촬영은 여러 가지가 있다. 그 중에서 Ankle Broden법은 발꿈치뼈(Calcaneus) 및 발목뼈(Ankle Joint)의 결합상태와 발목뼈의 발꿈치뼈 골절(Calcaneus Fracture), Subtentaculum Tali Frature를 관찰하기 위하여 촬영을 한다. 이 촬영법은 전 후면과 측면뿐 아니라, 사면 상(oblique view)이나 축 상(axial view)의 촬영을 하며 잦은 부상이 발생하는 목말뼈 발꿈치뼈간, 발꿈치뼈 발배뼈간 결합상을 보기 위해 주로 촬영을 한다. 본 연구는 석고처치 환자들은 발목관절이 영상에 잘 묘출되기가 어렵기 때문에 발목뼈 사이의 관계 및 연부조직의 구조적 변화와 Subtalar joint, Calcaneus Fracture, Subtentaculum Tali Frature에 따른 목말뼈 발꿈치뼈의 골 결합 (talocalcaneal coalition)을 관찰하기 위한 Harris-Beath View($30^{\circ}{\sim}55^{\circ}$) 촬영 시 평가에 유용한 발목뼈의 결합상을 얻을 수 있는 각도를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구의 진행은 40명의 환자에게서 획득한 영상을 평가하였으며, 평가결과 $25^{\circ}$의 촬영상은 목말밑 관절(subtalar joint)이 열려져 분리되지 않았고 또한, Subtentaculum Tali Frature에 중복되어 보였다. $30^{\circ}$의 촬영상은 발꿈치뼈 골절(Calcaneus Fracture), Subtentaculum Tali Frature, 목말밑관절(subtalar joint과 후방 관절면의 앞부분이 가장 잘 나타나고 Calcaneo Navicularcoalition, Talocal Canealcoalition, Naviculo Cuneiform coalition의 결합상태가 명확하게 보였다. $35^{\circ}$의 촬영상은 목말밑관절(subtalar joimt), 목말뼈(talus), 발뒤꿈치뼈의 뒤쪽관절면이 명확하고 발목발꿈치관절(talocalcaneal joint)의 분리정도가 좋고 발목뼈굴(sinus tarsi)이 넓게 나타나며 좋은 평가가 되었다. $45^{\circ}$영역에서는 연부조직과 석고 분리를 판별할 수 있었고 가쪽복사와 뼈 밀도가 명확하게 보였다. $35^{\circ}$에 비해 발꿈치뼈(Calcaneus)이 분리되었지만 영상이 왜곡되어 보였다. Calcaneus, Subtentaculum Tali Frature는 $25^{\circ}$에서 $1.20{\pm}0.414$, $30^{\circ}$에서는 $2.47{\pm}0.516$, $35^{\circ}$에서는 $2.87{\pm}0.352$, $45^{\circ}$에서는 $2.27{\pm}0.458$로 나타났고 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다(p<0.05). 왜곡의 정도를 포함시키면 $30^{\circ}$영역의 왜곡이 적게 나타났고, $40^{\circ}$ 영역은 심한 왜곡현상을 보였다. 따라서 Ankle(Broden)촬영에서 $30{\sim}35^{\circ}$상이 가장 좋은 영상이었으며, $30{\sim}40^{\circ}$상에서는 Calcaneus Fracture, Subtentaculum Tali Frature의 진단에 가장 좋은 영상을 묘출하였다.

A도서관 직영전환의 정책형성과정 분석: 정책옹호연합모형을 중심으로 (An Analysis of the Policy Making Process of a Back-In Phenomenon Appeared in Contracting out of Public Library: Based on the Advocacy Coalition Framework)

  • 본 연구는 공공도서관 직영전환결정에 대한 정책적인 관점에서, 정책옹호연합모형을 적용하여 도서관 운영체제의 변동에 영향을 미친 요인을 분석하는 것을 그 목적으로 한다. 분석 결과, 해당 사안을 둘러싼 3개 연합(직영찬성, 직영반대, 위탁유지)의 신념체계와 이들의 활동을 고려하였을 때, 기본핵심신념을 공유하는 경우 정책지향학습을 통해 부차적 신념은 변화될 수 있었다. 앞으로도 도서관 정책 전반에서 공론의 장을 활성화시키는 것은 정책추진에 있어 전략적으로 필요함을 시사한다.

Spectrum Allocation based on Auction in Overlay Cognitive Radio Network

  • In this paper, a mechanism for spectrum allocation in overlay cognitive radio networks is proposed. In overlay cognitive radio networks, the secondary users (SUs) must first sense the activity of primary users (PUs) to identify unoccupied spectrum bands. Based on their different contributions for the spectrum sensing, the SUs get payoffs that are computed by the fusion center (FC). The unoccupied bands will be auctioned and SUs are asked to bid using payoffs they earned or saved. Coalitions are allowed to form among SUs because each SU may only need a portion of the bands. We formulate the coalition forming process as a coalition forming game and analyze it by game theory. In the coalition formation game, debtor-creditor relationship may occur among the SUs because of their limited payoff storage. A debtor asks a creditor for payoff help, and in return provides the creditor with a portion of transmission time to relay data for the creditor. The negotiations between debtors and creditors can be modeled as a Bayesian game because they lack complete information of each other, and the equilibria of the game is investigated. Theoretical analysis and numerical results show that the proposed auction yields data rate improvement and certain fairness among all SUs.

Coalition Formation Game Based Relay Selection and Frequency Sharing for Cooperative Relay Assisted Wireless D2D Networks with QoS Constraints

  • With device-to-device (D2D) communications, an inactive user terminal can be utilized as a relay node to support multi-hop communication so that connective experience of the cell-edge user as well as the capacity of the whole system can be significantly improved. In this paper, we investigate the spectrum sharing for a cooperative relay assisted D2D communication underlying a cellular network. We formulate a joint relay selection and channel assignment problem to maximize the throughput of the system while guaranteeing the quality of service (QoS) requirements of cellular users (CUs) and D2D users (DUs). By exploiting coalition formation game theory, we propose two algorithms to solve the problem. The first algorithm is designed based on merge and split rules while the second one is developed based on single user's movement. Both of them are proved to be stable and convergent. Simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.
