Muzzle Velocity is one of the most important measurement items for evaluation of ammunition. The muzzle velocity is defined as the velocity when the projectile leaves the muzzle. Particularly, since the muzzle velocity is closely related to the performance of the propellant, precise measurement of muzzle velocity is required. Doppler radar is used to measure the muzzle velocity, but the quality of Doppler radar signal depends on the test site environment. In this paper, a method to remove the clutter that degrades the signal quality of Doppler radar by improving the structure of the test site and the signal processing method is suggested. For the application of the improved signal processing method, a program for acquiring Doppler radar's raw Doppler data was created. Statistical verification of the velocity data obtained through the improvement of the test site structure and signal processing method proved that the proposed method is effective for the removal of clutter as compared with the existing method.

As the likelihood of occurrence of the localized microbursts or severe flooding is increased due to the unusual weather changes, it is the very urgent problem to detect these weather hazards with a local weather radar. For a local weather radar of this purpose, it is essential to detect the low altitude and the fast varying weather conditions. Therefore, the very fast update of the weather information and the efficient clutter removal is very important. To achieve this goal, the appropriate method should be applied which does not need the mechanical elevation scanning and has the capability of the efficient clutter removal. Therefore, in this paper, the usefulness of the implementation of elevational filter banks with the spatial FFT algorithm was analyzed and investigated using a simple array antenna. It is shown that the suggested method can be used for both the minimization of the ground clutter and the fast update of weather information.

We measured the clutter loss (CL) and building entry loss (BEL) of signals in a low-rise high-density suburban environment. Three propagation models for BEL, CL, and a combination of BEL and CL were measured in the selected environment. We then derived the figures when the BEL was combined with the CL. At the two frequencies, the measured value of combination of BEL and CL is 27.55 dB and 26.12dB, respectively, and the differences between the measured value and the sum were -4.19 dB and 5.82 dB. Considering that the measurement was performed inside a building, such a difference seems to be small. Therefore, when BEL and CL were measured separately and summed, and then combined and summed, differences of -4.19 dB and 5.82 dB were apparent. This this result can be referenced when similar case of a propagation model was analyzed.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology is a key component of modern construction engineering and project management workflows. As-is BIM models that represent the spatial reality of a project site can offer crucial information to stakeholders for construction progress monitoring, error checking, and building maintenance purposes. Geometric methods for automatically converting raw scan data into BIM models (Scan-to-BIM) often fail to make use of higher-level semantic information in the data. Whereas, semantic segmentation methods only output labels at the point level without creating object level models that is necessary for BIM. To address these issues, this research proposes a hybrid semantic-geometric approach for clutter-resistant floorplan generation from laser-scanned building point clouds. The input point clouds are first pre-processed by normalizing the coordinate system and removing outliers. Then, a semantic segmentation network based on PointNet++ is used to label each point as ceiling, floor, wall, door, stair, and clutter. The clutter points are removed whereas the wall, door, and stair points are used for 2D floorplan generation. A region-growing segmentation algorithm paired with geometric reasoning rules is applied to group the points together into individual building elements. Finally, a 2-fold Random Sample Consensus (RANSAC) algorithm is applied to parameterize the building elements into 2D lines which are used to create the output floorplan. The proposed method is evaluated using the metrics of precision, recall, Intersection-over-Union (IOU), Betti error, and warping error.
An airborne radar performance can be sensitive to the variation of the Doppler center frequency and the spectral spread of the ground clutter return due to the radar platform moving and aspect angle of the scanning beam to the target. In this paper, for the performance test of the airborne pulsed Doppler radar system developed, the high-speed radar data acquisition system is implemented for acquiring the raw radar signal in real-time. Based on the various test scenarios from airborne-platform to the moving platform, the various radar target and clutter signals are collected and their spectrum is analyzed for the verification of the radar performance in the real-time flight test environments.
The many target-detection methods that use forward-looking infrared (FUR) images can deal with large targets measuring $70{\times}40$ pixels, utilizing their shape features. However, detection small targets is difficult because they are more obscure and there are many target-like objects. Therefore, few studies have examined how to detect small targets consisting of fewer than $30{\times}10$ pixels. This paper presents a small target detection method using clutter rejection with stochastic hypothesis testing for FLIR imagery. The proposed algorithm consists of two stages; detection and clutter rejection. In the detection stage, the mean of the input FLIR image is first removed and then the image is segmented using Otsu's method. A closing operation is also applied during the detection stage in order to merge any single targets detected separately. Then, the residual of the clutters is eliminated using statistical hypothesis testing based on the t-test. Several FLIR images are used to prove the performance of the proposed algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm accurately detects small targets (Jess than $30{\times}10$ pixels) with a low false alarm rate compared to the center-surround difference method using the receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve.

77GHz FMCW(Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) radar system has been used for automotive active safety systems. In typical automotive radar, the moving target detection and clutter cancellation including stationary targets are very important signal processing algorithms. This paper proposed the moving target detection algorithm which improve the detection probability and reduce the false alarm rate. First, the proposed moving target beat-frequency extraction filter is used in order to suppress clutter, and then the data association is applied by using the extracted moving target beat-frequency. Then, the zero-Doppler target is eliminated to remove the rest of clutter.

DBS(Doppler Beam Sharpening) algorithm is a way to improve azimuth resolution performance in radar. Since DBS image includes the is information about the search area of radar, various clutter components exist besides the target to be detected. To detect and track the desired target in a DBS image, it must be able to identify a target and the clutter components. In this paper, we describe how to use image size and terrain information(DTED) to identify the target in a DBS image. By using morphological filter and chain code, it acquires image size and excludes the clutter components. By matching with DTED, we determine target.
Irregular reflected signals on a sea surface make clutters to a ship's radar image. Clutters are similar to Gaussian white noises which are very harmful for detecting objecting at sea by a ship's radar. To remove the clutter effects, many papers show the algorithms by antenna, filters, and so on. This paper shows a new algorithm which uwes Wavelet and Morphology median filter conceps for removing clutter and enhancing image in order to detect well a distressed of being rescued ship in a rough weather condition at sea.

Many countries are producing the ENC(Electronic Navigational Chart)for their own waters and developing the electronic navigational equipment such as ECS, and ECDIS. Though ECDIS has many advantages, it is almost impossible for the mariner to recognize the displayed information because of intense display of objects so called as the clutter. In this paper, the problem of scale factor has been investigated and now methods, variable factor system, to assign the scale factor were proposed.
