A Study on the Effect of Fashion Information Sources on Clothing Purchase Decision Process (의복 구매의사 결정과정에 따른 패션정보원의 영향연구 -여대생을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of fashion information source in the stage of purchase decision-making and difference by stage of purchase decision-making and difference by stage of the effect extend, and to analyze the difference by fashion information source. For this study, the data were collected through the questionnaire distributed to 337 female students from five universities. The results are as follows: 1) There was significant difference among the effect to fashion information source according to the purchase decision-making stage. At the adoption stage, fashion information source have the most effect on clothing purchase. 2) The effect of Impersonal Source in the purchase decision-making stage was gradually decreased fro the initial (awareness, interest) sage to the late stage. 3) The effect of Personal Source in the purchase decision-making stage was gradually increased from the initial (awareness, interest) stage to the late stage. 4) Addition stage was highly influenced by friend and family that was Personal Independent Source than other fashion information source. However the final selection on clothing purchase was not influenced by friend and family. 5. There was significant difference among the effect of fashion information source according to the grade. Low garde students were highly influenced by Personal Source on clothing purchase, but high grade students were highly influenced by Impersonal Sources on clothing purchase. 6) There was significant difference among the effect of fashion information source according to the major. The students a majored clothing & textile-design were highly influenced by Impersional Source. These results suggest that fashion information source was significantly different according to purchase decision-making stage and was influenced by grade and major of subjects.

A Study on the Brand Loyalty Ready to Wear of Females (성인여성 기성복의 상표충성도에 관한 연구)

  • The main purpose of this study is to inves-tigate brand loyalty on ready-to-wear of fe-male. The subjects were two hundred ninty females in Taegu. Using SPSS package in or-der to identify relations of clothing selection behavior and information source uses multivariate analysis of variance(MANPVA) univariate analysis of variance(ANOVA) were executed. Scheffe est a kind of post-hoc multiple comparisons methods was adapted. conclusions reached in this study are as follows: 1. Clothing purchase pattern of consumers classified brand loyal group and brand dis-loyal group. The number of people in the brand loyal group was fifty more than that of the brand disloyal group. 2. In relation of brand loyalty and clothing selection behavior brand loyal group had high scores on individuality and exhibition of clothing selection behavior. Brand dis-loyal group had high scors on economy practicality courtesy facility. 3. In difference of information uses on brand loyalty brand loyal group had high scores on printed-information source, broadcast-ing-information source broadcast-ing-information sources. Among them brand loyal group particularly used printed-infor-mation source more than brocasting infor-mation source. On the contray brand dis-loyal group have high scores on human-in-formation source.

A Study of Adolescents' Clothing Involvement and Attitudes toward Clothing Advertisements (청소년의 의복관여와 의류광고에 대한 태도)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate adolescents' attitudes toward clothing advertisements and, to examine how much the influence of clothing ads on their clothing purchase depends on their clothing involvements. This research was based on a survey method using questionnaires. The subjects for the research were 508 middle and high school students in the area of Daegu City and Gyungbuk Province. Such methods as factor analysis, correlations, ANOVA, T-test and Scheff's test were used to analyze the collected data. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: 1. Adolescents' clothing involvements showed three dimensions such as interest and symbolism, fashion and danger perception. 2. They showed three different attitudes toward clothing ads: positive, negative, and reliant. 3. The degree of the influence of clothing ads on adolescents' clothing purchase was great in the order of media ads, shop ads, discount ads and brand ads. 4. The more interested they were in clothing, the more likely they were to purchase their clothing on their will and the more positive and reliant on clothing ads they were, which they recognized as useful information.

A Study on Clothing Behavior and Clothing Image of Out/Inner Wear According to Sex Role Stereotype (성역할정체감이 겉옷.속옷에 대한 의복행동 및 의복이미지 선호에 미치는 영향)

  • This study intends to analyze the sex role stereotype that could be effective variable for conduction clothing behavior and clothing image preference, to find out the relationship between sex role stereotype and out/inner wear clothing behavior and clothing image preference of women, and to provide useful information for establishing marketing strategies of out/inner wear market. A total of 628 samples were selected from adult female in Seoul. Questionnaire was used as major method of gathering data. They were analyzed by SAS package. Main result of this study were follows: 1. In the relationship between clothing behavior and clothing image preference and demographic variables, four clothing-behaviores of out wear, and comfort and aesthetics of inner wear showed significant differences according to all of the demographic variables. 2. In the relationship between sex role stereotype and clothing behavior and clothing image preference, four types of sex role stereotype were showed significant differences in comfort, modesty, aesthetics and masculine-feminine image of out wear, and masculine-feminine image of inner wear. 3. In the consistency between out wear clothing behavior and clothing image preference, and inner wear clothing behavior and clothing image preference according to sex role stereotype, all cases except one showed no significant consistency.

The Preferred Clothing Images and Clothing Behaviors on Personality Types (성격 유형별 선호하는 의복이미지와 의복구매 행동)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the preferred clothing images and clothing behaviors on personality types. Personality types were applied using Myers-Briggs Type Indicator(MBTI). Clothing image preferences were measured using 28 adjectives of 5-point scales. The data were collected from 101 female using questionnaire to prefer on clothing images, consumer information sources and retail store types. The data analysed with crosstab analysis, t-test, MDS. Extroversion and Introversion had significant difference in casual, sporty, fresh, youthful, western, and simple more than introversion types. Sensing and intuition had significant difference in feminine and strong image. Sensing types were significantly evaluated feminine style more than intuition types. Thinking types were significantly evaluated simple image more than feeling types. Judging and perceiving had significant difference in graceful, lofty, and strong image. Judging types were significantly evaluated graceful and lofty style more than perceiving types.

A Survey on the Research Trends of Clothing Construction in Korea - Focused on Journal Publications from 2001 through 2010 - (한국 의복구성학 분야의 연구동향 - 2001~2010년까지 학회지를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate research trends of subject matter in clothing construction field in clothing and textiles and to suggest the information for the future directions for fashion business and research. 2737 articles with clothing and textiles subject matter, 350 articles with clothing construction field in the Journal of Korean Society of Costume and Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles from 2001 through 2010 were analyzed. The major conclusions of the study are as follows: 1. Clothing construction field took 12.8% with 350 articles in the researches of the Journal Publications in 2000s. 2. Clothing construction field showed more proportions in the latter half of the decade. 3. Clothing construction field were classified into 5 topics : topic of basic pattern and pattern for apparel, topic of body types, topic of functionality of clothing and protective clothing, topic of size system of apparel, topic of sewing and manufacturing process. 4. In clothing construction field, topic of basic pattern and pattern for apparel took the most proportions. 5. Topic of body types, topic of functionality of clothing and protective clothing, topic of size system of apparel, topic of sewing and manufacturing process were followed.

The lifestyle and Clothing Purchase Behavior of Adolescents -Focused on Adolescents in Daegu- (청소년들의 라이프스타일과 의복구매행동 -대구지역을 중심으로-)

  • The purposes of this study were to classify adolescents by their lifestyles and to investigate the differences in clothing purchase behavior among lifestyle groups. The data were obtained from questionnaire completed 341 adolescents in Daegu area. The SPSS package was used for data analysis which included frequency, factor analysis, cluster analysis, ${\chi}^2$ test, ANOVA, and Scheffe test. Lifestyles of adolescents were categorized into five factors such as clothing hedonic shopping orientation, positive activity, material orientation, frugality, digital orientation. Three clusters (achievement orientation group, ordinary group, economic orientation group) were developed by five factors of lifestyles. While the achievement orientation group had the highest purchase motives and used the most information sources, the economic orientation group had the lowest purchasing motives and used the least information sources. There were significant differences in clothing purchase frequency and average clothing expenditure among three clusters.

  • As contemporary men's clothing is becoming slimmer, people consider it important not only the existing simple design, but also intricate design and its fitness that can complement one's body. Therefore, in this study, we reproduced Men's wear fabrication process with 3D process. As a result, it was well received, as it can check the fitness, and allows modifying the design and mixing different texture easily.

The Fabric Knowledge and the Selection Criteria & Fabric Impact on Clothing Purchase of University Students (대학생의 의류소재 인지도 및 의복구매시 선택기준과 소재의 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to survey fabric knowledge about apparel products, and to identify not only clothing purchase criteria but the impact of fabrics on the decision-making process in clothing purchase. The 234 questionnaires were distributed to university students(120 males, 114 females), and were analyzed by frequencies, t-test, $x^{2}$ and ANOVA. The results are as follows: 1) The students had apparel fabrics knowledge above the average, and there were partially significant differences in the knowledge by genders. 2) They put a higher priority, in purchasing apparel products, on factors such as design, size, color, fabric, and price of clothing than those including ease of care, sewing, and fashion trend. 3) The consideration of fabrics influenced a post-purchase process. 4) Male students showed less concern, except information search process, with the fabric than females in the decision-making process for clothing purchase.
