여성결혼이민자의 의료서비스 이용경험 (Married Female Migrants' Experiences of Health Care Services)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe married female migrants' experiences of health care services and to help nursing researchers, nursing educators, and clinical nurses understand married female migrants' experiences. Method: A conventional content analysis method was utilized. Individual in-depth interviews with 15 married female migrants were conducted. Subject recruitment was performed at a district in Seoul. Results: Ten categories were induced: language barrier, financial burden, insufficient time with a physician, complexity of utilization process, lack of support from peer group, health care providers' discrimination, anxiety regarding lack of information about children's health, health care providers' concerns and efforts to minimize the language barrier, family support, and advanced health care service environment. Conclusion: This study provides basic knowledge regarding married female migrants' experiences related to health care services. Future research should designate and utilize valid instruments to measure the positive and negative experiences and to explore strategies to strengthen the positive features while eliminating the negative ones. Finally, the Korean nursing education curriculum should include cultural competence and knowledge about an ethnic minority's right to health service utilization.

소방공무원의 탄력성과 외상후성장이 외상후스트레스 증상에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Resilience and Posttraumatic Growth on Posttraumatic Stress Symptoms in Korean Firefighters)

  • Objective : One of the aims of this study was to confirm the relationship in firefighters who have a high risk of developing posttraumatic stress disorder. We also explored the mediation effects of resilience and posttraumatic growth (PTG) on the association between traumatic experiences and posttraumatic stress symptoms. Methods : A total of 677 firefighters were assessed in terms of the intensity of job-related traumatic experiences using the Visual Analogue Scale. They completed the Korean version of the Posttraumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI), the Korean version of the Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R), and the Korean version of the 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC-10). Results : The intensity of traumatic experiences was significantly negatively related to the CD-RISC-10 score, but it was positively related to the PTGI and the IES-R scores. The CD-RISC-10 score had a significantly positive correlation with the PTGI score, but it was negatively correlated to the IES-R score. Path analyses revealed that resilience and PTG independently mediated the association between traumatic experiences and posttraumatic stress symptoms. Conclusion : These results suggest that traumatic experiences contribute to posttraumatic stress symptoms and that these impacts may be mediated through resilience and PTG.

코로나바이러스 감염증-19 환자를 간호한 간호사의 경험: 현상학적 연구 (A Phenomenological Study of the Lived Experience of Nurses Caring for Patients with COVID-19 in Korea)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to understand nurses' lived experiences of caring for patients with COVID-19. Methods: The phenomenological research method was used. The study participants were 16 Korean nurses who had experiences in caring for patients with COVID-19 in clinical settings. Data was collected using one-on-one in-depth interviews, from June 30 to September 30, 2020. During the interview, the quarantine rules were observed. Results: The study derived four themes clusters and thirty-eight sub themes. Four theme clusters were identified, i.e., 'a repetitive sense of crisis', 'enduring a drastic change,' 'sacrifice of personal life,' and 'pride in nursing'. The nurses' experiences of caring for patients with COVID-19 were an uneasy, unfamiliar, and threatening experiences for an individual, but it is an opportunity for a nursing organization to renew. Accordingly, it was found that nurses faithfully fulfill their individual roles with a vocation and responsibility. Conclusion: The study provides an in-depth understanding of the situational, psychological, and environmental aspects of challenges facing nurses in the pandemic situation. Based on the findings, institutional follow-up measures should be provided to establish support systems for better nursing care. In addition, studies are needed to track nurses' experiences in the prolonged COVID-19 situation.

간호대학생이 실습지에서 경험한 폭력에 관한 문헌 분석 (Nursing students' experiences of violence during a clinical practicum: A literature analysis)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the trends related to nursing students' experiences of violence and to propose a method to build a practice environment safe from violence in nursing students' practicums. Methods: Using three databases, data on the experiences of violence in nursing student practice recorded in domestic studies from 2011 to 2022 were collected and analyzed. Results: In this study, 23 studies were analyzed, of which 19 were quantitative, four were qualitative study. In a survey conducted on the experiences of violence among nursing students during practice, verbal and physical violence, sexual harassment, and physical threats were found, and the perpetrators of the violence were patients, guardians, nurses, doctors, and hospital staffs. It was also found that the experiences of violence in nursing students' practice were negatively related to occupational identity, depression, burnout, and stress. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop an intervention program to reduce depression and increase self-esteem in order to better establish a student's career identity and to prepare a plan to build safe practices for nursing students.

공군장병의 거부민감성과 우울 및 불안의 관계에서 학교폭력 피해 경험의 조절효과 (The Moderating Effects of School Violence Victimization Experiences in the Relationships between Airmen's Rejection Sensitivity, Depression, and Anxiety)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 공군 장병들의 거부민감성이 우울 및 불안에 영향을 미치는지 알아보고 이러한 관계에서 과거 중 고등학교 시절 학교 폭력 피해 경험이 조절 효과를 보이는지 알아보는 것이다. 또한 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 군 장병들의 군 생활 적응에 있어 위험 요소들을 찾고 이들의 심리적 적응을 향상시키는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 S시에 소재하는 공군 장병 126명을 대상으로 거부민감성, 우울, 불안, 학교 폭력 피해 경험을 측정하는 설문지를 실시하였다. 조절효과를 검증하기 위해 거부민감성, 학교 폭력 피해 경험, 이들 간의 상호 작용 항을 투입하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 거부민감성과 우울의 관계에서 학교폭력 피해 경험의 조절 효과는 유의미하였으며, 거부민감성과 불안의 관계에서 학교 폭력 피해 경험의 조절 효과도 역시 유의미하였다. 이를 통해 학교 폭력 피해 경험은 거부민감성이 우울 및 불안에 미치는 영향을 증가시킴을 알 수 있었다. 이들의 상호작용 패턴에 대해 단순 주효과 기울기 분석을 통해 확인하였다. 마지막으로 연구 결과를 통해 학교폭력피해 경험이 군생활 적응의 고위험 요소이며 이들을 위한 상담적 개입의 중요성 등에 대해 논의하였다.

간호대학생의 임상입문실습 경험 (The Experiences of Nursing Student's Introductory Clinical Practice)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 임상입문실습 경험의 의미와 본질적 구조를 밝히기 위해 진행된 현상학적 연구이다. 자료수집은 2019년 7월 15일부터 31일까지 진행되었으며, U광역시에 소재한 일개 대학교의 간호학과 학생 중 임상입문실습을 마친 8명을 대상으로 하여 포커스 그룹 토론과 심층면담을 통해 이루어졌다. 참여자들은 비구조화된 질문을 통해 실습의 전반적인 과정 중에 겪은 상황과 환경, 감정 등을 구체적으로 진술하였다. Colaizzi의 현상학적 방법을 이용하여 분석한 간호대학생의 임상입문실습 경험은 의미 있는 진술로부터 41개의 주제와 17개의 주제모음, 5개의 범주인' 걱정과 기대가 함께 함', '병원이 현실로 다가옴', '감정의 혼재 끝에 적응함', '되어감의 첫 단계', '미래를 준비함'으로 구성되었고, 도출된 범주는 실습 중 시간의 흐름에 따라 하나의 맥락 속에서 전개되었다. 연구결과 밝혀진 간호대학생의 임상입문실습 경험은 기대와 걱정되는 상태에서 실습을 시작하여 다양한 상황과 감정을 경험하면서 적응하고 미래를 준비하게 되는 본질적 구조로 이루어졌다. 연구는 1,000시간 이상 시행되어야 하는 임상실습의 시작 시점에서 시행되었으므로 그 결과는 앞으로 이루어질 간호대학생의 임상실습 적응을 위한 유용한 정보를 제공할 것으로 판단되며, 이를 기반으로 간호대학생의 실습을 위한 교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

성인작업치료에서 아동작업치료로 전환한 작업치료사의 임상경험에 관한 현상학적 연구: 감각통합치료 중심으로 (A Phenomenological Study of Occupational Therapists' Experiences of Transitioning from Adult to Child Occupational Therapy)

  • 목적 : 본 연구는 성인작업치료에서 아동작업치료로 전환한 작업치료사의 임상 경험을 이해하고 탐구함으로써 추후 전환한 작업치료사의 빠른 임상 적응을 위한 프로그램을 개발하는데 필요한 기초 자료를 제공하고자 한다. 연구방법 : 본 연구는 Colaizzi의 현상학적 연구 방법을 적용하였다. 임상경력 3년 이상으로 병원 기반 성인작업치료에서 감각통합 중심의 아동작업치료로 전환한 작업치료사 6명을 대상으로 전화 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 인터뷰 내용은 참여자의 동의하에 녹음 후 전사한 뒤 분석하였다. 결과 : 면담 내용을 분석한 결과 3개의 범주화, 7개 주제 모음, 17개의 의미가 도출되었다. 3개의 범주화에는 전환한 작업치료사의 임상경험의 어려움, 전환 후 임상경험을 통해 얻을 수 있었던 강점, 빠른 임상적응을 위해 전환을 준비하기 전 필요한 요소가 무엇인지 알 수 있었다. 결론 : 감각통합 중심의 아동작업치료로 전환한 작업치료사들이 새로운 환경에 전문가로서 빠른 임상 적응할 수 있도록 전환하는 작업치료사들을 위한 교육과 제도적 마련이 필요할 것이다.

졸업학년 간호학생의 핵심기본간호술 학습경험과 수행자신감 조사연구: 실습교과를 중심으로 (A Study on Learning Experiences and Self-Confidence of Core Nursing Skills in Nursing Practicum among Final Year Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify learning experiences and self-confidence and to analyze nursing students' self-confidence according to learning experiences for core nursing skills (CNS). Method: Participants were 502 final year nursing students. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and t-test. Results: Over 60% of participants had practiced 15 items of the 24 CNS in the basic nursing lab (BNL). In clinical practice (CP), they had practiced five items but experienced only one item in a simulation lab (SL). Items with the highest confidence level were vital signs (4.69) followed by blood sugar test (4.60), pulse oximeter (4.38), and oral medication (4.12). Items with the lowest confidence level were blood transfusion (2.17) followed by enema (2.64) and indwelling catheterization (2.67). The group with CNS experience in the practice curriculum was generally more confident than the group with no experience. Self-confidences in some skills was significantly different depending on availability of SL, credits for BNL and CP, and presence of preceptors. Conclusion: Results indicate a need to develop practice education strategies such as changing the CP to practice-centered learning with preceptors and including well-designed SL to increase confidence of nursing students.

간호대학생의 Virtual 시뮬레이션 실습 및 High fidelity 시뮬레이션 실습교육 경험 분석: 혼합연구방법 적용 (Analysis of the virtual simulation practice and high fidelity simulation practice training experience of nursing students: A mixed-methods study)

  • Purpose: This study used an exploratory sequential approach (mixed methods) design to explore essential meaning through comparing and analyzing the experiences of nursing students in virtual simulation practice and high fidelity simulation practice education in parallel. Methods: The study participants were 20 nursing students, and data were collected through focus group meetings from July 17 to August 5, 2020, and via online quantitative data from November 10 to November 15, 2020. The qualitative data were analyzed using Giorgi's phenomenological method, and the quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis H test analysis of variance and Spearman's ρ correlation. Results: The comparison between the two simulation training experiences was shown in five contextual structures, as follows: (1) reflection of the clinical field, (2) thinking theorem vs. thinking expansion, (3) individual-centered learning vs. team-centered learning, (4) attitudes toward participating in practical training, (5) metacognition of personal competency as a prospective nurse, and (6) revisiting the method of practice training. There was a positive correlation between satisfaction with the practice and the clinical judgment ability of high fidelity simulation, which was statistically significant (r=.47, p=.036). Conclusion: Comparing the experiences between virtual simulation practice training and high fidelity simulation practice training, which has increased in demand due to the Coronavirus Disease-2019 pandemic, is meaningful as it provides practical data for introspection and reflection on in-campus clinical education.
