Existing reinforced concrete buildings with seismically deficient column details affect the overall behavior depending on the failure type of column. This study aims to develop and validate a machine learning-based prediction model for the column failure modes (shear, flexure-shear, and flexure failure modes). For this purpose, artificial neural network (ANN), K-nearest neighbor (KNN), decision tree (DT), and random forest (RF) models were used, considering previously collected experimental data. Using four machine learning methodologies, we developed a classification learning model that can predict the column failure modes in terms of the input variables using concrete compressive strength, steel yield strength, axial load ratio, height-to-dept aspect ratio, longitudinal reinforcement ratio, and transverse reinforcement ratio. The performance of each machine learning model was compared and verified by calculating accuracy, precision, recall, F1-Score, and ROC. Based on the performance measurements of the classification model, the RF model represents the highest average value of the classification model performance measurements among the considered learning methods, and it can conservatively predict the shear failure mode. Thus, the RF model can rapidly predict the column failure modes with simple column details.

In the current medical field, ultrasound diagnosis can be said to be the same as a stethoscope in the past. However, due to the nature of ultrasound, it has the disadvantage that the prediction of results is uncertain depending on the skill level of the examiner. Therefore, this paper aims to improve the accuracy of liver lesion detection during ultrasound examination based on deep learning technology to solve this problem. In the proposed paper, we compared the accuracy of lesion classification using a CNN model and an ensemble model. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the classification accuracy in the CNN model averaged 82.33% and the ensemble model averaged 89.9%, about 7% higher. Also, it was confirmed that the ensemble model was 0.97 in the average ROC curve, which is about 0.4 higher than the CNN model.

In this study, we propose a part of the CDSS(Clinical Decision Support System) study, a system that can classify chemotherapy, one of the treatment methods for colorectal cancer patients. In the treatment of colorectal cancer, the selection of chemotherapy according to the patient's condition is very important because it is directly related to the patient's survival period. Therefore, in this study, chemotherapy was classified using a machine learning algorithm by creating a baseline model, a pathological model, and a combined model using both characteristics of the patient using the individual and pathological characteristics of colorectal cancer patients. As a result of comparing the prediction accuracy with Top-n Accuracy, ROC curve, and AUC, it was found that the combined model showed the best prediction accuracy, and that the LGBM algorithm had the best performance. In this study, a chemotherapy classification model suitable for the patient's condition was constructed by classifying the model by patient characteristics using a machine learning algorithm. Based on the results of this study in future studies, it will be helpful for CDSS research by creating a better performing chemotherapy classification model.

Recently, several studies have shown that linear representation based approaches are very effective and efficient for image classification. One of these linear-representation-based approaches is the Collaborative representation (CR) method. The existing algorithms based on CR have two major problems that degrade their classification performance. First problem arises due to the limited number of available training samples. The large variations, caused by illumintion and expression changes, among query and training samples leads to poor classification performance. Second problem occurs when an image is partially noised (contiguous occlusion), as some part of the given image become corrupt the classification performance also degrades. We aim to extend the collaborative representation framework under limited training samples face recognition problem. Our proposed solution will generate virtual samples and intra-class variations from training data to model the variations effectively between query and training samples. For robust classification, the image patches have been utilized to compute representation to address partial occlusion as it leads to more accurate classification results. The proposed method computes representation based on local regions in the images as opposed to CR, which computes representation based on global solution involving entire images. Furthermore, the proposed solution also integrates the locality structure into CR, using Euclidian distance between the query and training samples. Intuitively, if the query sample can be represented by selecting its nearest neighbours, lie on a same linear subspace then the resulting representation will be more discriminate and accurately classify the query sample. Hence our proposed framework model the limited sample face recognition problem into sufficient training samples problem using virtual samples and intra-class variations, generated from training samples that will result in improved classification accuracy as evident from experimental results. Moreover, it compute representation based on local image patches for robust classification and is expected to greatly increase the classification performance for face recognition task.

The international standards, ISO 15489 and Family Code, recommend using functional classification method both in public and private organizations. In this study made a comparative analysis of the details of classification systems through case studies on records classification systems of a total of seven comprehensive construction companies in Korea including three large corporations and four small and medium-size businesses. Findings of this study suggester the direction of developing construction records classification system and its methodology. By summarizing classification standards derived from these case studies, key construction records classification standards were presented.
Protein tyrosine kinases (PTKs) play a central role in the modulation of a wide variety of cellular events such as differentiation, proliferation and metabolism, and their unregulated activation can lead to various diseases including cancer and diabetes. PTKs represent a diverse family of proteins including both receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) and non-receptor tyrosine kinases (NRTKs). Due to the diversity and important cellular roles of PTKs, accurate classification methods are required to better understand and differentiate different PTKs. In addition, PTKs have become important targets for drugs, providing a further need to develop novel methods to accurately classify this set of important biological molecules. Here, we introduce a novel statistical model for the classification of PTKs that is based on their structural features. The approach allows for both the recognition of PTKs and the classification of RTKs into their subfamilies. This novel approach had an overall accuracy of 98.5% for the identification of PTKs, and 99.3% for the classification of RTKs.

The purpose of this study is to present the limitation of terminological relationships in the current information environment and to propose a solution to result in the richer and refined terminological resources. For this, various kinds of terminological relationships in knowledge organization systems and theoretical researches were collected and analyzed. Based upon the analysis, a methodology for classification of terminological relationships was suggested and classification models were presented. Additionally, four suggestions were made for the practical uses of the classification models.
In this paper, a new automatic classification method for the normal EEC and schizophrenia EEC using hidden Markov model(HMM) is proposed. We used the feature parameters which are the variance for statistical stationary interval of the EEC and power spectrum ratio of the alpha, beta, and theta wave. The results were shown that high classification accuracy of 90.9% in the case of normal person, and 90.5% in the case of schizophrenia patient. It seems that proposed classification system is more efficient than the system using complicate signal processing process. Hence, the proposed method can be used at analysis and classification for complicated biosignal such as EEC and is expected to give considerable assistance to clinical diagnosis.
A comment system is essential for communication on the Internet. However, there are also malicious comments such as inappropriate expression of others by exploiting anonymity online. In order to protect users from malicious comments, classification of malicious / normal comments is necessary, and this can be implemented as text classification. Text classification is one of the important topics in natural language processing, and studies using pre-trained models such as BERT and graph structures such as GCN and GAT have been actively conducted. In this study, we implemented a comment classification system using BERT, GCN, and GAT for actual published comments and compared the performance. In this study, the system using the graph-based model showed higher performance than the BERT.

Classification is to generate a rule of classifying objects into several categories based on the learning sample. Good classification model should classify new objects with low misclassification error. Many types of classification methods have been developed including logistic regression, discriminant analysis and tree. This paper presents a new classification method using penalized partial least squares. Penalized partial least squares can make the model more robust and remedy multicollinearity problem. This paper compares the proposed method with logistic regression and PCA based discriminant analysis by some real and artificial data. It is concluded that the new method has better power as compared with other methods.
