This study aims to empirically structure the patterns of consumption and their effects on depression among the employed baby-boomers who were born in 1955 to in 1963. We used the 5th wave of Korea Retirement and Income Study(KReIS) in 2013 (n=2,585). The Latent Profile Analysis(LPA) estimated the empirical patterns of consumption and then a multiple regression analyzed the effect of consumption patterns on depression. The LPA results showed that the consumption patterns consist of four groups: Basic life-oriented class, Social life-oriented class, Home-based lifestyle class, and Advanced consumption-oriented class. The working baby boomers' depression was associated with their consumption patterns. Specifically, the social life-oriented class showed significantly lower depression than the basic life-oriented class and advanced consumption-oriented class. Other associates with higher levels of depression were found as lower education, having no spouse, lower self-rated health, higher levels of physical limitation, having a diagnosed disability, lower satisfaction with leisure activities, lower income, and lower subjective economic status in this study. Based on the results of this study, we propose the need for specialized financial intervention better for baby-boomers' retirement preparation in Korea.

Recently, finite element analysis technique has been widely used for structural and mechanical understandings of human body in the dentistry field. This research proposed an effective finite element modeling method based on CT images, and parametric studies were performed for the occlusal simulation. The analyses were performed considering linear material behaviors and nonlinear geometrical effect, and validated with the experimental results. In addition, the skull models with two different molar relations such as Class I and full-CUSP Class II were generated and the analyses were performed using the proposed analytical method. As results, the relationships between the mandibular movement and occlusal force of both two models showed similar tendency in human occlusal force. However, stress was evenly distributed from teeth to facial bone in the skull model with Class I, while stress concentration was appeared in the model with full-CUSP Class II due to the changes of occlusal surfaces of the model.
In the elementary school period, since the developmental stage in the area of emotional regulation is immature, it is necessary to develop emotional regulation ability. In order to promote emotional regulation, this study provides an emotional regulation art class that utilizes the right brain function. Results were derived by analyzing through pre- and post-questions and post-interviews. As a result of the pre-post analysis, among the sub-elements of emotional regulation after class, 'Self-Emotion Recognition and Expression', 'Emotional Recognition and Consideration of Others', and 'Interpersonal Relationships' were statistically high. As a result of interview analysis, it was found that all students had a positive effect in the emotional regulation sub-item. As a result, they recognized and understood their emotions after class rather than before class, and had the effect of expressing emotions by purifying negative emotions into positive emotions. It is suggested that it is necessary to develop a program that applies various teaching and learning methods for emotional regulation art class in the future.

A60 class bulkhead penetration piece is a fire resistance system installed on a bulkhead compartment to protect lives and to prevent flame diffusion in a fire accident on a ship and offshore plant. This study focuses on the approximate optimization of the fire resistance design of the A60 class bulkhead penetration piece using a multi-island genetic algorithm. Transient heat transfer analysis was performed to evaluate the fire resistance design of the A60 class bulkhead penetration piece. For approximate optimization, the bulkhead penetration piece length, diameter, material type, and insulation density were considered discrete design variables; moreover, temperature, cost, and productivity were considered constraint functions. The approximate optimum design problem based on the meta-model was formulated by determining the discrete design variables by minimizing the weight of the A60 class bulkhead penetration piece subject to the constraint functions. The meta-models used for the approximate optimization were the Kriging model, response surface method, and radial basis function-based neural network. The results from the approximate optimization were compared to the actual results of the analysis to determine approximate accuracy. We conclude that the radial basis function-based neural network among the meta-models used in the approximate optimization generates the most accurate optimum design results for the fire resistance design of the A60 class bulkhead penetration piece.
This study aims to examine how subjective class perception of children from single-parent families affects suicidal thoughts and to verify the mediated effects of depression and subjective health perception. To this end, the analysis data used the 2020 Korean Children and Youth Human Rights Survey conducted by the Korea Youth Policy Institute, and 618 children from single-parent families who responded to the survey were selected and analyzed as study subjects. As a result of the analysis, first, it was found that the higher the subjective class perception, the lower the suicidal impulse. Second, depression was found to be completely mediated in the relationship between subjective class perception and suicide impulse. Third, subjective health awareness was found to be completely mediated in the relationship between subjective class perception and suicidal thoughts. Based on these research results, we proposed policy and practical measures to reduce suicidal impulses according to the subjective class perception of children of single-parent families.
The purpose of this study was the acquisition of the optimum scale of the apportionment of standard & high-class bed for the maximum profit representative of the desire of customers in a General Hospital with 1,100 beds located in Seoul. This investigation was proceeded by the analysis of the result of the simulation with the survey of both the patients' needs for bed and the degree of the medical service by the grade of the ward. And finally the consequence was obtained as follows: 1. The result of the investigation of the inpatients' preference for the grade of ward classes shows that a private ward reflected 4.3 percent, a semi-private ward 1.7 percent, a three-bed ward 0.1 percent, and a ward with six beds 93.9 percent each other. 2. A questionnaire poll was paralleled of service terms of a medical doctor and a nurse by ward class, the data were used for the standard of the allotment of labor cost by the ward class. The poll shows that the service tenn of a medical doctor and a nurse based on a ward with six beds by ward class showed 1.7 times in internal medicine and 1.9 times in surgery at a private ward; 1.4 times in internal medicine and 1.7 times in surgery at a semi-private room; and 1.2 times both in internal medicine and in surgery at a three-bed ward 3. The resultant findings revealed the most profit per bed and per patient in a private ward. However, an analysis of profit with a standard of unit area by ward class represented a higher profit in both the internal medicine and the surgery semi-private ward than other ward classes. 4. The result of the analysis through simulation based on the data of the prime cost per the ward class proved the optimum scale of the distribution of beds by class as follows: sixteen beds of the internal medicine and twenty three beds of the surgery in the private ward; two hundreds and two of the internal medicine and one hundred and ninety eight of the surgery in the semi-private room; three of both the internal medicine and the surgery each other in the three-bed ward; one hundred and ninety eight of the internal medicine and two hundred and fifty two of the surgery in the ward with six beds. The result of this research exhibits that the income and expenditure of the hospital could be improved by changing parts of wards into private ones(containing the maximum profit per a unit of width) in case the scale of the number of beds is reset with the consideration of the profit per the unit width. In the near future it's strongly expected that the research for the more scientific standard of the allotment of labour cost by ward class and for definition of the optimum scale of the number of beds that actualize the maximum profit with the change of the three elements of the prime cost: cost of materials; labor costs; management expenses.
Typological theories of offending postulate that childhood-onset delinquents have a high likelihood of being serious and chronic offenders and that there are a distinct set of risk factors predicting early-onset antisocial behaviors. It is useful to empirically classify children into subgroups based on their deviant behaviors because it helps us to identify unique factors associated with each subgroup. Using the first two waves of the Korean Youth Panel Survey, Elementary School Data, this study aimed(a) to empirically classify 5th graders into latent delinquent subgroups, and (b) to examine the impact of individual, familiar, school, and peer factors on the latent delinquent classes. Latent class analysis yielded three latent classes based on 15 indicators of deviant behaviors - delinquent class, low-level delinquent class, & normative class. The results from multivariate multinomial logistic regression analyses revealed that being male, reporting low self-control, coming from poor family, high association with deviant peers, and being bullied increased the risk of being in the delinquent class. Moreover, low self-control, aggression, domestic violence, low level of attachment to teachers, and deviant peers independently increased the risk of being in the low-level delinquent class compared to the normative class. Based on the study findings, implications for practice as well as future studies were discussed.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the mathematical beliefs of students and teachers by Latent Class Analysis(LCA). This study surveyed 60 teachers about beliefs of 'nature of mathematics', 'mathematic teaching', 'mathematical ability' and also asked 1850 students about beliefs of 'school mathematics', 'mathematic problem solving', 'mathematic learning' and 'mathematical self-concept'. Also, this study classified each student and teacher into a class that are in a similar response, analyzed the belief systems and built a profile of the classes. As a result, teachers were classified into three types of belief classes about 'nature of mathematics' and two types of belief classes about 'teaching mathematics' and 'mathematical ability' respectively. Also, students were classfied into three types of belief classes about 'self concept' and two types of classes about 'School Mathematics', 'Mathematics Problem Solving' and 'Mathematics Learning' respectively. This study classified the mathematics belief systems in which students were categorized into 9 categories and teachers into 7 categories by LCA. The belief categories analyzed through these inductive observations were found to have statistical validity. The latent class analysis(LCA) used in this study is a new way of inductively categorizing the mathematical beliefs of teachers and students. The belief analysis method(LCA) used in this study may be the basis for statistically analyzing the relationship between teachers' and students' beliefs.
This paper describes a statistical analysis method for predicting a coast fishing boat's effective horsepower. The EHP estimation method for small coast fishing boats was developed, based on a statistical regression analysis of model test results in a circulating water channel. The statistical regression formula of a fishing boat's effective horsepower is determined from the regression analysis of the resistance test results for 15 actual coast fishing boats. This method was applied to the effective horsepower prediction of a G/T 4 ton class coast fishing boat. From the estimation of the effective horsepower using this regression formula and the experimental model test of the G/T 4 ton class coast fishing boat, the estimation accuracy was verified under 10 percent of the design speed. However, the effective horsepower prediction method for coast fishing boats using the regression formula will be used at the initial design and hull-form development stage.
Purpose: This study aimed to explore the relations between class distracting factors and class satisfaction of the dental technology students and then provide a primary data to help further related studies and develop educational programs with which instructors can efficiently manage their classroom. Methods: For this study we have conducted a survey started from the beginning of May 2017 to the end of June. The subjects of the survey were Dental Technology students of D-city, K-city, W-city, selected by random sampling method. The questionnaire was self-administrated and 437 valid results were chosen for our analysis among 450 distributed questionnaires. Results: The results of the research was as follows. Firstly, The overall average point of class distracting factors was 2.5 point. The environmental factors were the highest point as 2.59 and as for the subcategories tiredness and drowsiness was the highest point as 2.76. Secondly, The overall average point of class satisfaction turned out 3,88 point and compliance with class and attitude factors gained the highest point as 4.06. Of the subcategories strict roll checking was the highest point as 4.17. Thirdly, As for class distracting factors from general characteristics a statistical significance was shown as follows; 'instructor factor'(p<.01), 'learner factor'(p<.05), 'total class distracting factor'(p<.05) in the area of gender, 'environmental factor'(p<.001), 'total class distracting factor'(p<.01), 'learner factor'(p<.05), 'instructor factor'(p<.05) in the area of gender 'learner factor'(p<.001), 'instructor factor'(p<.001), 'environmental factor'(p<.001), 'total class distracting factor'(p<.01) in the area of class grade, 'environmental factor'(p<.05) in GPA. Fourthly, A statistical significance, a negative correlation (p<.01) were shown between class distracting factors and class satisfaction. Class distracting factor that especially affects the class satisfaction was instructor factor(p<.001) and the explanatory power of the model turned out 14.7%, which was statistically meaningful (p<.001). Conclusion : Results of this study reveal that instructor factor is the key to class satisfaction of the students. So it is crucial that the instructor faithfully prepare for the class to reinforce the students' learning. Additionally further studies should be followed with more subjects and newer perspectives to develop innovative teaching methodology.
