Port in Northern Vietnam has been playing an important role in the logistics system the country. In recent years, the cargo throughput of the region, especially, containerized cargo has increased gradually. There are totally 11 container terminals in Northern Vietnam, concentrating in Haiphong city and Quang Ninh province. Despite of increasing demand, the competition among the terminals is becoming more and more critical. The paper, firstly, summarizes factors impacting the market share of the terminals before reveal the correlation between given factors and annual container throughput. Factor analysis will be then applied to evaluate the level of terminals' logistics infrastructure. For the conclusion, strategic thinking of terminals' logistics competitiveness will be contributed to related organizations.

This paper presents a case study using Building Information Modeling (BIM) for planning, simulating, and implementing complex site logistics in a headquarter office building construction project in Silver Spring, MD. As part of the project a prefabricated 92ft structural tube steel pedestrian connector bridge was installed between two adjacent buildings in the city of Silver Spring, MD. There were multiple significant challenges to deliver, offload, prepare, and install the connector bridge safely, on time, and with the minimum disturbances to the neighbors. BIM was of the foremost importance to visualize, simulate, analyze, improve, and communicate the site logistics plan from delivery to installation of the connector bridge. As a result of the effort, GC of the project was able to prepare a highly detailed plan, communicate it effectively to all stakeholders, and flawlessly execute the work as planned. This case study would provide a useful reference for contractors who are seeking a better planning method that enables generation of more accurate, implementable, optimized plans for complex site logistics.

This paper focuses on the frozen storage warehouse located in Busan area, and it is because Busan is the most dense area in Korea. Busan is a port city, and almost all of the frozen refrigerated cargo imported from abroad is concentrated. By taking advantage of its strength as a fishery industry as well as importing, Busan is building the largest international fishery logistics base in Northeast Asia and plays an important role in the export of refrigerated cargo is. Therefore, although the freezing and chilling facilities seem to be developed with the latest technology, the reality is not so. Most of them are functioning as a warehouse, that is, a storage function, and a considerable number of refrigerated warehouses are in a state of aging. Therefore, in this paper, the facility and function restructuring of the freezing storage warehouse have been set as a solution task, and the introduction of the cold chain system containing the latest smart technology has been proposed as a solution.

The sea-port in Northern Vietnam accounts for around one third of the total country's cargo throughput and for many decades has been playing an important role in the logistics system of the country. 11 container terminals currently operate in Northern Vietnam, concentrating in Haiphong city and Quang Ninh province. Despite the increasing demand, the competition among these container terminals has become increasingly more critical. In recent years, massive investments from both government and operators have been made to improve the capability of the local sea-port's logistics infrastructure. This critically needed comprehensive research evaluates the impact of the current logistics infrastructure condition on the competitiveness of terminals and quantitatively compares the competencies of these terminals. In order to meet such requirements, the paper first summarizes the indicators of the logistics infrastructures of the sea ports before developing and testing hypotheses to reveal the correlation between the given factors and the annual throughput of container terminals in the region. Factor analysis will then be applied to score the logistics infrastructure competency of each container terminal. A significant gap between logistics infrastructures among all container terminals was not observed and the competitiveness between container terminals is mostly driven by traditional activities including cargo handling and storage. According to the results, strategic thinking will be needed to contribute to related organizations for better decisions in investment, management, and operation.

Today, the problem of the logistics rationalization has significant meanings as one of the new strategies for improving the power in the international competition. In order to achieve the logistics rationalization, the enhanced recognition to logistics of each enterprise is essential. However, the complete arrangement of the logistics external environment, that is, logistics infrastructure is also one of the most important matters. In this respect, to rationalize the container logistics, this paper deals with the strategies for strengthening the function of Pusan port which is handling the 95% of the export and import container. Some suggestions for those are as follows : First, the coastal container transportation system must be strengthened to dissolute the preponderance of road transportation. Second, a new large port must be developed at Gadeok island to handle the increasing container traffic in the years of 2000. Third, the port authority must be established under the cooperation of the central government and local government to comply with the necessity of the synthetic control for city and port. Fourth, the Inland Clearance Depot in going must be promptly completed to establish the efficient and synthetic container logistics system.

The purpose of this study is to establish common indicators that constitute a "low-carbon green city" and determine their priorities from the perspective of Incheon Metropolitan City with a view to help develop its climate change strategy strategic city. Several major cities, domestic and overseas, were benchmarked to come up with preliminary indicators consisting of six areas, twenty two planning factors, and 74 indicators. In order to evaluate the validity and relevance of preliminary indicators, expert FGI (Focus Group Interview) was conducted that changed the numbers of final indicators to six areas, twenty two planning factors, and 82 indicators. Finally, AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) was conducted to assign relative importance (i.e. weights) to each indicator. Through the layering process of AHP, the upper category of "field" and lower category of "planning factors" were set up as policy prerequisites for constructing a low-carbon green city (6 fields, 22 planning factors). The AHP results for the first level (fields), green city space was ranked first, followed by energy and resource circulation, green traffic, ecological preservation, green logistics, and governance. Among all planning factors, land use, energy efficiency, traffic system improvement, location planning, securing of ecological area, efficiency of logistics, and cooperative organization showed the highest priorities.

본 연구는 물류정책기본법에서 제시된 변화특성들을 먼저 세부적으로 검토하였으며, 또한 기존 도시물류기본계획의 사례를 통해 한계와 문제점을 파악하고 더 나아가 인천과 같은 임항형 도시이며 수도권지역에 위치한 도쿄시의 사례를 통해 인천시 도시물류기본계획의 정책방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 결과를 요약하면 아래와 같다. 첫째, 도시물류기본계획에서의 물류조사는 계획적이고도 중 장기적인 차원에서 이루어져야 할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 중소기업 내지는 3자물류 기업을 활용한 물류계획을 통해 생활환경을 개선하고 부가가치를 창출할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 도시물류기본계획상에서 최소한 중복 투자가 우려되는 물류계획분야에서 만큼은 인천, 경기, 서울간에 서로 상호간의 협의를 통해 공동조사 및 계획이 이루어질 수 있도록 추진하는 것이 필요할 것이다. 넷째, 인천시에서도 기업의 환경친화적인 물류활동에 대한 직접적인 행정적 재정적 지원을 할 필요가 있을 것이다. 마지막으로, 도시물류기본계획 수립시 인천지역 현실과 상황에 맞는 목표의 설정과 이를 실현하기 위한 추진계획, 그리고 이 추진계획들을 평가할 수 있는 평가 지표를 설정하여, 개선정도를 파악할 수 있는 피드백 체계가 구축되어야 할 것이다.

This study is intended for the development of urgent facing strategies for the designation of a CFZ(Customs Free Zone) in Incheon city. First, it analyzes the current status of the Incheon CFZ. Next, it suggests several strategies for successfully growing the CFZ of Incheon City. Finally, it develops and proposes a method for establishing an integrated management system for the effective management of the CFZ. The key findings of this study are as follows: First, the CFZ should provide state-of-the-art movement of port logistics, create new added value caused by the movement of logistics, and provide other public support. The Incheon CFZ should be developed in three stages: an inducement stage in 2002-2005, a growth stage in 2005-2008, and an implementation stage in 2008-2011. Second, The parties responsible for the management of the CFZ would be as follows: for the port area, the Ministry of Maritime and Fisheries; for the back space of CFZ, Incheon City; and for port management, port management companies. However, a committee for CFZ management is strongly suggested for the improved efficiency and effectiveness of CFZ management. Furthermore, additional regulations ensuring the role of local government will likely be necessary for the sucessful designation and sustainable management of the CFZ. Third, For the creation of additional revenue, reformation of the current laws of the CFZ are recommended in the area of business administration. Fourth, A strategic marketing plan that supports the successful management of the companies of the CFZ will be a key component in the success of the CFZ. Thus, the new marketing plan should be developed in the near future based on case studies of other CFZs. Fifth A method for an integrated CFZ management system was developed and suggested for the comprehensive and transparent management of port logistics.

Also, it establishes following method of study to achieve study purpose for actual proof analysis for integration sequence of international logistics bases supply network. Specially, immersion of network and supply network, very high interrelation appeared by thing which is with international logistics base supply network integration. The integration of international logistics base supply network means that the enterprises which give trust and sincerity deal with market environment change positively and can decide proceeding of various cooperative work. Also, it means the possibility by necessity of cooperative relation and interdependence to continuous immersion and normative immersion, for the maintain of long business relations.

This study was conducted in order to develop inter-local cooperation strategies between the City of Incheon, in Korea, and three provinces in northeastern China. We begin with a description of the history of and prospects for trade between Korea and China, an explanation of the current economic status of Incheon, statistics on the economy, trade and investment trends in the region, and information on the ports of the three Chinese provinces. The following strategies are suggested for inter-local cooperation based on the current circumstances. First, cooperative industrial strategies and economic investment for promoting the mutual concerns and interests of China and Korea were developed. Second, a practical way of utilizing the Incheon Industrial Park located in Dandong, China, was devised to stimulate industrial and investment cooperation. Third, a method of building a network among major ports in Korea and other Northeast Asian port cities was developed. Fourth, an international logistics transportation system that makes connection between sea, land and air easier through logistics standardization was suggested in preparation fur the changing environment of logistics brought about by the opening of the new Incheon International Airport. Fifth, methods of Improving port facilities are suggested. And, finally, the role and necessity of the Incheon City Interchange Center in executing inter-local cooperation strategies is described.
