The korean society confronts with social problems which are resulted from the rapid development of science and technology. While the governments politic has concentrated on the economic application of science and technology, various citizens groups have been organized to solve the social problems by themselves. Historically the so called citizens movement in the field of science and technology was formed with the influence of students movement in 1970s. The activities and the aim of the movement have changed in accordance with the state of the korean society. They pay more attention to the enhancement of citizens participation in the development of science and technology. This paper is intended to evaluate the role of the citizens organizations in terms of their participation in the policy-making, formation of alternative scientist and engineer. The practices of the organizations are classified in three periods which corresponds to the process of social movement in Korea. It is further attempted to suggest the future role of those organizations.
As we encounter the global and localized era, the development operations on a regional level are in active promotion. This manuscript has been completed with the purpose of probing for course of action in lifelong learning movement in terms of activating and developing of local communities. For this, the comparative analysis of practiced cases in America's community school movement, Japan's movement for establishing lifelong learning village and Sweden's study circle movement have been made. For the analytical frame of the comparison, the actual results on background of promotion, themes for practice, details of practice, methods for practice of local community centered lifelong learning movement have been applied. As a result of analysis, the local community centered lifelong learning movement has been promoted to break each country's social and economic crisis and to activate the local community. The promotion of each operation has been accomplished with the support of specific organization and the participants were the citizens of the local community. Also, the details of practice are composed of operating the people-centered lifelong learning program, cooperative learning by local citizens and local community realization activity. The details of education is closely related with the life of learners. Therefore, the lifelong movement for the activation of local community hereafter should be promoted based on the coherence of local community, should be able to contain the actual life of the citizens and should be practiced as a process of forming the lifelong learning group at concerned local community through a democratic learning process.
The media movement is a movement to separate from the political power and to dismantle the media power and to seek the control of citizens' media. Political power is the biggest factor that violates the fairness and independence of the media in the public domain. On the other hand, the factor that interferes with the healthy and responsible media of the press in the private sector is the media power originating from the owner. Citizens 'media campaign emphasizes citizens' mobility as a subject that monitors the political power and media power that have the sovereignty of the media belonging to the citizen and may infringe on this sovereignty. In the Lee Myung Bak - Park Geun Hye regime, the civil press movement was a period of resistance and struggle. Citizen media campaigns have completely collapsed with governance. As a result, the intellectuals who have expertise in the media have lost their place in the discussion and presentation of the policy alternatives in which the policy production is centered. The influence of citizen media organizations, which are centered on activists rather than citizen's direct action, is limited. In order to strengthen the power of the media reform, it is necessary to reconstruct social forces such as civil society, media unions, media organizations and political forces. We should also look for various ways in which citizens can participate actively in the agenda and activities of the movement. In addition, it is necessary to expand the movement of the media.
Since the beginning of the millennium, 'Maker Movement' has been active throughout the world. Today, there is a maker fair every year in major cities of the world including Seoul, and the number of attendees is increasing day by day, so it can be seen as a kind of maker 'phenomenon'. The positive implication of the maker's movement is that it attempts to break down the monopoly of manufacturing and to restore the rights and capabilities of citizens as makers. Today, highly developed industrial capitalism has a tendency to structurally paralyse citizens, to tie their hands and feet, and to degenerate into consuming entities only. Therefore, it can be said that the maker movement has structural tensions in the relationship of neoliberal manufacturing culture. This study is an attempt to actively interpret the maker movement in terms of "critical making". The maker movement can trace its origins to "counterculture" and "new communalism" that emerged in the United States in the 1960s and 1970s. On the other hand, there is criticism that the maker movement can fall into another technology utopianism and function as an area of consumer society, and mobilize it in the direction of activating consumerism. Although the maker's movement is amorphous due to its characteristics and it is currently in progress, it is difficult to make crude definition yet. However, as the citizens who have been defined only as consumers of science and technology, are newly emerging as producers of makers, there have been great changes in the topography of science and technology and civil society. So the scientific implication of the maker movement is great in that it shows the possibility of causing it.

In this study, motion recognition LED lamp was used to have good energy efficiency and to be made of environment friendly material. The purpose of development of the lamp was to add motion recognition to LED lamp. In this study, infrared ray sensor's distance measurement was used to develop LED lamp. Most of the lamps were used under dark environment, so that infrared ray sensor was used to perceive movement under dark environment. And, LED lamp with good efficiency and less power consumption was used to increase efficiency. Citizens were interested in perception of the movement to distinguish from conventional type of the lamps.
Protests are not new in Malaysia, though it is restricted by the ruling government. The trend of street protests and demonstrations since the emergence of Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih), Malaysia's first people movement on electoral reform, has triggered a sentiment of people power among Malaysian citizens. With protests and popular mobilization becoming pronounced in Malaysian politics, political activism becomes for Malaysians a channel of discontent and expression of political preferences. Using information obtained from interviews with individuals linked to the movement, this paper articulates that protests are no longer exclusive to Malaysians. This paper illustrates the emergence of the Bersih movement and explores the three Bersih mass rallies that took place in 2007, 2011, and 2012. This paper further links the protests with the electoral reform initiatives. It argues that the Bersih movement has managed to lobby fundamental changes in the Malaysian political culture.
This study focuses on the on-line civic social movement which is based on the individual dimension. This kind of on-line social movement is organized voluntarily by the citizens who have the common concerns about issues and problems raised in the net. In the context, this paper analyzes what is the characteristics of discourse formed in the process of public discussion concerned about the anti-Nix movement. And, this study also analyzed who was processed the anti-Nix movement through which steps and what kinds of way in the case of anti-nix movement. Based on the research results, the anti-Nix movement is led by the organizer of the movement and the active participants of it. This study also found out that the various movement strategies of the site organizer were the major reasons of the success of anti-Nix movement. This study also found out that the discussion board of anti-Nix movement is close to the function and role of traditional public sphere rather than those of the swearwords and libels.

The spread and damage of COVID-19 are putting significant pressure on the world, including Korea. Most countries place restrictions on movement and gathering to minimize contact between citizens and these policies have brought new changes to social patterns. This study generated traffic volume data on the scale of a road network using taxi movement data collected in the early stages of the COVID-19 third pandemic to analyze the impact of COVID-19 on movement patterns. After that, correlation analysis was performed with the data of confirmed cases in Daegu Metropolitan City and Local Moran's I was applied to analyze the effect of spatial characteristics. As a result, in terms of the overall road network, the number of confirmed cases showed a negative correlation with taxi driving and at least -0.615. It was confirmed that citizens' movement anxiety was reflected as the number of confirmed cases increased. The commercial and industrial areas in the center of the city confirmed the cold spot with a negative correlation and low-low local Mona's I. However, the road network around medical institutions such as hospitals and spaces with spatial characteristics such as residential complexes was high-high. In the future, this analysis could be used for preventive measures for policymakers due to COVID-19.
