연초(N. tabacum L.) 버어리종과 중국 양건종 교잡 후대의 DVT 및 cis-abienol 유전 (Inheritance of DVT and Cis-abienol in F$_1$ Generation among Burley and Sun-cured Cultivars of China(N. tabacum L.))

  • To obtain the genetic information about DVT( $\alpha$- and $\beta$-4,8,13- duvatriene-1,3-diols) and cis-abienol contents, two burley(Burley 21, KB 108), three sun-cured cultivars(N. tabacum L. cv. Yonbyun 3, Jahengyon and Jaraehong), TI 1068, and thirty F$_1$ hybrids derived from them were sampled and the diterpenes were analysed using thin layer chromatography (TLC) procedures. DVT exudation from the leaf scerface could Ie detected in all coltivars and F$_1$ hybrids tested. TI 1068 and Yonbyun 3 had cis-abienol exdudates. Burley 21, KB 108, Jaheungyon, and Jaraehong had no spot of cis-abienol. It is considered that cis-abienol exdudation might be controlled by dominant gene(s). The cytoplasmic effect on the cis-abienol exdudation was not detected.

  • 매우 不安定한 中間生成物인 2-butenedial을 거쳐서 cis- 및 trans-2-utenedialdioxime을 合成하고, cis-이성질체의 형태(conformation)를 決定하였다. 1,4-dideutero- 및 1-deutero-cis-2-butenedialdioxime의 NMR 解析에 依해서 目的物의 형태가 아래와 같은 非對稱構造임을 밝혔다.

  • 본 연구는 중앙아시아국가들과 대구·경북 지역의 무역활성화를 위한 방안을 제시하기 위함을 목적으로 한다. 새로운 신흥 시장으로 성장하고 있는 중앙아시아지역과 현재의 교역 현황을 분석하였다. 또한 중력모형분석을 통하여 중앙아시아 지역의 국제화가 교역량 증가에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 사실을 입증하였다. 이를 바탕으로 교역활성화를 위한 국가적 정책 수립과 민간차원에서 접근해야할 방법에 대하여 제시하였다. 또한 대구·경북 지역의 교역 활성화를 위해 지역차원에서 이루어져야 할 해결책에 대하여 논의하였다.

프로펠러 설계 및 선미 부가물 수정에 따른 캐비테이션 초기발생 선속(CIS) 성능 향상 연구 (Study of the Cavitation Inception Speed (CIS) Improvement Through the Propeller Design and the Stern Appendage Modification)

  • In order to improve the propeller Cavitation Inception Speed (CIS) performance, it needs to modify the propeller geometry and the wake distribution that flows into the propeller. In the previous study, the twisted angles of the V-strut were modified to improve propeller CIS, cavitation behavior and pressure fluctuation performances. Then the propeller behind the modified V-strut (New strut) showed better cavitation characteristics than that behind the existing V-strut (Old strut). However, the CIS of Suction Side Tip Vortex (SSTV) and Pressure Side Tp Vortex (PSTV) showed a big difference at behind each V-strut. In this study, the balance design is conducted to minimize the difference between SSTV CIS and PSTV CIS at behind each V-strut. To improve the propeller CIS performance, 1 propeller is designed at behind the old strut and 3 propellers are designed at behind the new strut. The propeller CIS is increased through the balance design and the stern appendage modification. The final propeller CIS is increased about 5.3 knots higher than that of the existing propeller at behind the old strut. On the basis of the present study, it is thought that the better improvement method for the propeller CIS would be suggested.

상업용 훈증제인 Cis-와 Trans-1,3-Dichloropropene(1,3-D)을 차별적으로 분해하는 Bacterial Consortium에 영향을 주는 다양한 이차 탄소원들의 효과 (Influence of a Variety of Second Carbon Substrates on the Bacterial Consortium Differentially Degrading Cis- and Trans-1,3-Dichloropropene (1,3-D))

  • 휘발성 훈증제인 cis-와 trans-1,3-D의 각각에 대한 분해력 향상은 몇몇 연구자들에 의해 이루어져왔다. 본 연구는 cis-와 trans-1,3-D에 대해 서로 다른 속도에서 각각의 분해력 증진과 미생물과의 관련성을 조사한 것으로, 미생물이 휘발성을 갖는 독성 유기화합물의 분해를 향상시키는 데 관여하고 있음이 관찰되었다. 1,3-D로 야외(field)처리되어 적응되어 왔던 토양으로부터, 1,3-D의 분해가 확인된 토양시료를 채취하여 1,3-D를 분해할 수 있는 혼합 배양세균을 분리하였다. 이렇게 분리된 혼합 배양세균은 cis-1,3-D보다는 trans-1,3-D를 더 빨리 분해 시켰으나, 미생물 성장을 위한 탄소원으로 cis-와 trans-1,3-D만이 제공되었을 때는 분해가 일어나지 않는 반면, 적절한 2차 탄소원들이 존재할 때에는 cis-와 trans-1,3-D를 분해시켰다. 따라서, cis-와 trans-1,3-D의 분해는 공동대사과정(cometabolism)인 것으로 판단된다. 두 이성질체는, 토양여과액(soil leachate), tryptone, tryptophan, alanine이 포함된 시료가 2차 탄소원으로 제공되었을 때에는 분해가 이루어졌으나, 고온고압하에서 멸균시킨 토양추출액(soil extract), glucose, yeast extract 및 indole이 포함된 시료가 2차 탄소원으로 제공되었을 때는 두 이성질체 모두를 분해시키지 못했다. 상업용 훈증제로 이용되는 cis-와 trans-1,3-D를 다른 속도로 개별적으로 분해하는 혼합 미생물군은 형태학적인 구별방법에 의해 4개의 독립된 순수 colony로 구성되어 있는 것으로 관찰되었다.

A Comparative Study of the Anti-Platelet Effects of cis- and trans-Resveratrol

  • Although various biological activities of resveratrol have been extensively studied, most reports have focused on trans-resveratrol and little attention has been paid to the cis-isomer. In this study, the effect of cis-resveratrol on platelet activity was examined and compared with that of the trans-isomer. Treatment with cis-resveratrol resulted in inhibition of platelet aggregation induced by thrombin, collagen or ADP, which are representative aggregation-inducing agents, and the trans-isomer elicited the same effects. These effects were concentration-dependent in the range of 1-100 ${\mu}M$. However, the potency of the cis-isomer was much lower than that of the trans-isomer; the $IC_{50}$ values for the cis-isomer versus the trans-isomer were $31{\pm}12$ vs $151{\pm}3$, $161{\pm}3$ vs $91{\pm}4$, and $601{\pm}15$ vs $251{\pm}6\;{\mu}M$ for thrombin-, collagen- and ADP-induced aggregation, respectively. These results indicate that cis-resveratrol has a less potent anti-platelet activity, compared with the trans-isomer, and raise the possibility that the biological activities of the cis-isomer may be different from those of the trans-isomer. It will be necessary to evaluate the activity of cis-resveratrol independently of the trans-isomer.

Comparison of the Effects of 13-cis Retinoic Acid and Melatonin on the Viabilities of SH-SY5Y Neuroblastoma Cell Line

  • Objective : Neuroblastoma is one of common childhood tumors. Although its mortality is very high, there is no effective treatment yet. The aim of this project is to evaluate cytotoxic effects of melatonin (MLT) an endogen hormone and 13-cis retinoic acid (13-cis-RA) also named as isotretinoin an analogue of vitamin A on neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cell line. Methods : In this study, SH-SY5Y cell line was used. After cell culture, the cells were exposed to different doses of MLT and 13-cis-RA. 24 and 48 hours later. While the viabilities was estimated with MTT cell viability assay test, apoptotic indexes were calculated after staining with TUNEL based apoptosis kit. Results : It was observed that MLT has very effective cytotoxic potential than 13-cis-RA on neuroblastoma cell line. At the same time, when MLT and 13-cis-RA were combined, this effect was potentiated. On the other hand, it was found that the effect of 13-cis-RA individually on neuroblastoma cells was very slight. Conclusion : We suggest that in the treatment of patient with neuroblastoma, MLT is very effective and also this effect can be augmented by combination with 13-cis-RA.

Characterization of a Newly Isolated cis-1,2-Dichloroethylene and Aliphatic Compound-Degrading Bacterium, Clostridium sp. Strain KYT-1

  • A cis-1,2-dichloroethylene (cis-DCE)-degrading anaerobic bacterium, Clostridium sp. strain KYT-1, was isolated from a sediment sample collected from a landfill site in Nanji-do, Seoul, Korea. The KYT-1 strain is a gram-positive, endospore-forming, motile, rod-shaped anaerobic bacterium, of approximately $2.5{\sim}3.0\;{\mu}m$ in length. The degradation of cis-DCE is closely related with the growth of the KYT-1 strain, and it was stopped when the growth of the KYT-1 strain became constant. Although the pathway of cis-DCE degradation by strain KYT-1 remains to be further elucidated, no accumulation of the harmful intermediate, vinyl chloride (VC), was observed during anaerobic cis-DCE degradation. Strain KYT-1 proved able to degrade a variety of volatile organic compounds, including VC, isomers of DCE (1,1-dichloroethylene, trans-1,2-dichloroethylene, and cis-DCE), trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene, 1,2-dichloroethane, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, and 1,1,2-trichloroethane. Strain KYT-1 degraded cis-DCE at a range of temperatures from $15\;to\;37^{\circ}C$, with an optimum at $30^{\circ}C$, and at a pH range of 5.5 to 8.5, with an optimum at 7.0.

s-cis-$[Co(eee)Cl_2$]^+ 및 s-cis-$[Co(eee)Br_2]^+ $착이온의 수화반응에 미치는 압력의 영향 (Pressure Dependence on the Aquation of s-cis-[Co(ee)$Cl_2$]+ and s-cis-[Co(eee)$Br_2$]+ ions)

  • s-cis-$[Co(eee)Cl_2]^+$ 와 s-cis-$[Co(eee)Br_2]^+$ 착이온의 수화반응을 여러가지 온도와 압력하에서 분광광도법으로 연구하였다. 여기서 eee는 $NH_2-CH_2CH_2-S-CH_2CH_2-NH_2이다. 두가지 착물의 수화반응은 속도법칙 Rate = $k_{obsd}$[Co(III)]를 따르고, 속도상수$(k_{obsd})$)는 0.1M $HClO_4,\;40^{\circ}C$에서 s-cis-$[Co(eee)Cl_2]^+$와 s-cis-$[Co(eee)Br_2]^+$가 각각 $0.687{\times}10^{-4}$ $sec^{-1}$$4.10{\times}10^{-4}$$sec^{-1}$이다. 같은 조건에서$[Co(eee)Cl_2]^+$ 와 s-cis-$[Co(eee)Br_2]^+$착이온의 활성화엔트로피$({\Delta}S^{\neq})$는 각각 -15.5eu와 -7.54eu 이고 활성화부피$({\Delta}V^{\neq})$는 각각 $-4.6cm^3mole^{-1}$$-4.2cm^3mole^{-1}$이다. 이들 데이타로부터 수화반응의 메카니즘은 교환해리(Id)메카니즘으로 추론할 수 있다.
