This paper describes a naturally occurring case of meningoencephalitis associated with Listeria monocytogenes in a 4 month-old Korean native goat. The goat was raised in a herd consisting of seventy goats, and fed on straw and leftover vegetables including onions, cauliflower, and bean sprouts. The clinical symptoms of the goat were depression, in appetence, anorexia, circling, and recumbency before death. No conspicuous gross lesions were found except consolidation of the lung. Histopathologically, severe multifocal microabscesses and perivascular cuffings were observed in the brain stem and mid brain. In addition, mild nonsuppurative meningitis in the cerebrum were seen in this case. The organism isolated from the brain stem was confirmed as L. monocytogenes using the biochemical tests and PCR assay. Based on clinical signs, histopathology, and bacterial isolation; we confirmed that this case was a typical encephalitic listeriosis.

In February 2013, two Korean native goats with circling, dysphagia, sialorrhea, and death were submitted for necropsy to the Jeju Self-Governing Provincial Veterinary Research Institute. Histopathologically, multifocal to confluent micro-abscess composed of neutrophils and macrophages and severe multifocal perivascular cuffing were observed in pons, medulla oblongata, and cerebellum. Isolated bacteria from the brain sample were Gram-positive coccobacilli and were confirmed as Listeria (L.) monocytogenes by VITEK and PCR analysis. Based on clinical sign, histopathology and bacterial isolation, this case was diagnosed as encephalitic listeriosis. In our best knowledge, this is the first report of encephalitic listeriosis caused by L. monocytogenes in Korean native goats in Jeju.

국적기의 사고 및 국내에서 발생한 사고를 분석해보면 많은 인명 피해가 발생된 사고의 유형들을 접할 수 있다. 운항중인 항공기에 특별한 결함이 없었음에도 불구하고 조종사의 잘못된 판단에 의한 사고는 선행연구들의 결과와 같이 많은 부분들을 차지하고 있다. 특히 비 정밀접근(Non Precision Approach)의 선회접근(Circling Approach) 및 시계접근(Visual Approach)절차에서 자주 발생되는 지상충돌 사례들을 과학적이고 객관적인 방법을 바탕으로 분석하여 유사사고 재발 방지를 위한 대안을 찾고자 한다. 이를 위해 조종사의 입장에서의 교육 및 절차에 관해 분석하여 비 정밀 접근 절차 수행의 기준을 제언하고자 한다.

Wireless energy transmission system to a Micro Aerial Vehicle is now under development. A 5.8 GHz microwave phased array antenna and rectenna array receiver have been developed. An electric motor on a circling MAV model was driven by the transmitted power. In addition, 140GHz millimeter-waves of up to 1MW was beamed to a "Microwave Rocket" and its thrusting has been successfully demonstrated.

지역 여건상 ILS나 VOR/DME 등 항행안전시설을 이용한 착륙이 곤란한 활주로에서는 조종사가 직접 눈으로 확인하여 착륙하는 선회비행방식이 이용되고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 김해공항 북측 활주로와 같이 항행안전시설을 설치하지 못하는 공항에 대하여 선회착륙하는 항공기가 악천후등으로 최종적으로 선회해야하는 지점을 발견하지 못하고 통과하여 사고가 발생하는 것을 막기 위하여 선회지점을 벗어난 지점에 무선전파의 전파막, 즉 마커신호로 조종사에게 위험신호를 알려주는 역할을 하는 장비를 개발하기로 한다. 이 경우 항공기에는 별도의 장비를 갖추지 않고 조종사가 별도의 조작을 하지 않아도 경보가 울리도록 하여 조종사의 부담을 최대한으로 줄여야 한다. 이를 만족하기 위해서 ILS의 구성장비로 사용중인 마커를 기반으로 하고, 현재 마커에 사용중인 송신기의 주파수 및 변조방식등을 그대로 이용하고, 변조주파수 및 신호만을 바꾸고, 안테나를 특수한 형태로 개발하기로 한다. 또한 안테나의 방사패턴의 크기를 시뮬레이션하고, 경보후의 비행경로를 계산하여 시스템의 유효성을 검증한다.

A survey was performed on the outbreak of listeriosis in a Korean native goat in Animal Breeding Station of Gyeongsang National University, Chinju, Korea. Clinical signs in the affected goat were fever, dullness, inappetence, nasal discharge, slobbering, dysphagia, circling, incoordination, recumbency, unilateral facial paralysis, torticollis, dyspnea, spasmodic paddling movement of the limbs and death at 6 days after onset. No significant gross lesions were seen. The histopathological lesions were consisted of perivascular edema and cuffs by round cells and microabscess with infiltration of neutrophils, lymphocytes and macrophages in the cerebrum. Gram-positive organism was observed in the microabscess lesions. Listeria monocytogenes was isolated exclusively from the brain tissue by cultural examination and the lesions induced by experimental infection with the isolate were characterized by severe conjunctivitis in rabbit and hepatic necrotic foci in mouse. This seems to be the first report of listeriosis in Korean native goat.

A loader is construction & road or agricultural machinery for lifting, moving, and mixing. This study deals with the agricultural mini loader for stock raising farming. The performance of the machine is established by pulling power, working lifting capacity, and minimum circling radius, etc. Also, driving easiness and endurance are very important in manufacturing. Thus, this study has developed the loader with the 4-wheel driving equipment by gear transmission, the 4-wheel steering equipment by power handle steering type, and the equipment making four wheels touch simultaneously on the rugged ground. The developed loader having these functions was very fit in a small cattle shed or a rugged ground. This study is divided into two parts; (I) development of 4WS transmission and (II) construction of the loader by 4WS system and other equipments.

Cospas-Sarsat, an international satellite system for search and rescue, started operating in early 1980's and has been credited with saving thousands of lives since then. Hundreds of thousands of aviators, mariners and land users worldwide are equipped with Cospas-Sarsat distress beacons, which could help save their lives in emergency situations anywhere in the world. This paper outlines the evolution of the system and describes how satellites are constantly circling the globe monitoring for rescue signals, while tracking stations on six continents receive the satellite signals, compute the locations of the distress events and forward the calls for help to the appropriate rescue authorities. Therefore, this paper points out the importance of developing of technologies of Hybrid Aviation Wireless SAR Equipment and also proposes to make it localized.

We present a system for the real-time visual relative navigation of a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle in a GPS-denied environment. An extended Kalman filter is used to construct a vision-aided navigation system by fusing the image processing results with barometer and inertial sensor measurements. Using a mean-shift object tracking algorithm, an onboard vision system provides pixel measurements to the navigation filter. The filter is slightly modified to deal with delayed measurements from the vision system. The image processing algorithm and the navigation filter are verified by flight tests. The results show that the proposed aerial system is able to maintain circling around a target without using GPS data.

This essay examines how the figure of Liberty has been refashioned in the streets of post-apartheid South Africa, addressing three public art works installed in Johannesburg over the past decade: Reshada Crouse's oil painting Passive Resistance, Marlene Dumas' tapestry The Benefit of the Doubt and William Kentridge's and Gerhard Marx's sculpture Firewalker. Even as these monumental works all reprise Delacroix's Liberty on the Barricades-an icon of the city street and its revolutionary barricades-so too this trio of Liberties have become mere phantoms of their vaunted archetype. Haunted specters, they quarrel with the mythologized chimera of Liberty, taking issue with the fraught tradition of pinning regime change onto the body of the female nude. Drawing instead on South African histories of women's resistance, in which female nudity has been repeatedly marshaled as a form of dissent, the Liberties circling Johannesburg hybridize their European template with local traditions of female political opposition to colonial and postcolonial male authority.
