The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship among savoring, happiness and optimism of elementary school students. This study is also expected to provide basic informations for the promotion of the happiness and optimism of elementary school students. The subjects were 495 fifth and sixth graders from 10 primary schools located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. The measurement were the savoring test, the happiness test and the optimism test. The collected data was analyzed using the i-STATistics program(Kim & Baker, 2012). The study results were as followings: First, female students had higher scores than male students in the savoring test, the happiness test and the optimism test. And there were significant gender differences in savoring, happiness and optimism. Second, there was a significantly positive correlation between savoring and happiness(home environment, self-attributes, abilities, and interpersonal relationships) at the level of p<0.001. And the regression analysis result showed that savoring contains explanatory power of 60.70% for happiness. Third, there was a significantly positive correlation between savoring and optimism(expectations for the future) at the level of p<0.001. And the regression analysis result showed that savoring contains explanatory power of 66.51% for optimism. The result of this study shows that savoring has a high correlation to happiness and optimism. Happiness and optimism of children can be enhanced by increasing savoring. Therefore, the development and verification of savoring program for children is required.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact factors on the happiness of teenagers using local children centers. To this end, 424 people were sampled and hierarchical regression methods were used using data from the 10th year of the Korea Children's Center Panel Study. The results are as follows. First, self-esteem and peer relation and service help in adolescents are found to have a static effect on happiness, of which self-esteem has the highest impact. Second, adolescent depression and negative parenting attitude have been shown to have a negative effect on happiness, and depression has a stronger negative impact than parents' negative parenting attitude. Accordingly, this study aims to highlight positive factors of influence and suggest alternatives for applying them to local children centers by developing various programs that can reduce negative factors in order to enhance the happiness of adolescents.

The study is to examine how facial EMG responses change when children experience a positive emotion(happiness) and a negative emotion(fear). It is to prove that the positive emotion(happiness) could be distinguishable from the negative emotion(fear) by the EMG responses. Audiovisual film clips were used for evoking the positive emotion(happiness) and the negative emotion(fear). 47 children (11-13 years old, 23 boys and 24 girls) participated in the study Facial EMG (right corrugator and orbicularis oris) was measured while children were experiencing the positive or negative emotion. Emotional assessment scale was used for measuring children's psychological responses. It showed more than $85\%$ appropriateness and 3.15, 4.04 effectiveness (5 scale) for happiness and fear, respectively. Facial EMG responses were significantly different between a resting state and a emotional state both in happiness and in fear (p<001). Result suggests that each emotion was distinguishable by corrugator and orbicularis oris responses. Specifically, corrugator was more activated in the positive emotion(happiness) than in the negative emotion(fear), whereas orbicularis oris was more activated in the negative emotion(fear) than in the positive emotion(fear).
The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating roles of children interpersonal relations and mental health in the relationship between parent-child relationships and school life happiness, and the differences between single-parent and two-parent families, using structural equation modeling. Data were obtained from the 2013(second-wave) year of the Korean Educational Longitudinal Study. This study selected 6,643 elementary school 6th-grade students(756 from single-parent families and 5,887 from two-parent families). Data were examined with structural equation modeling and multi-group analysis using AMOS 18.0, and mediating effects were tested using the Sobel test. The results were as follows; First, the single-parent children reported lower levels of interpersonal relations, mental health, and school life happiness than the two-parent children. Second, interpersonal relations and mental health did play a mediating role in the relationship between parent-child relationships and school life happiness. Third, as a result of examining for total effect, the variable that most influenced school life happiness of children was interpersonal relations. Fourth, multi-group analysis did not show a statistically significant difference between single- and two-parent children in structural equation modeling.
This study investigated the relations among a child's emotionality, mother's depression and parenting behaviors in predicting a child's happiness. Participants were 384 children(175 boys, 209 girls) and their mothers. The teachers completed the rating scale to measure a child's happiness. A child's emotionality, mother's depression and parenting behaviors were assessed by a mother-reported questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlations, and hierarchical multiple regressions. Results showed that child's emotionality was negatively related to their happiness. Mother's depression had a negative relation to child's happiness. Mother's warmth-encouragement, overprotection-permission, and reject-nonintervention was significantly related to a child's happiness. Hierarchical regression analysis indicated that the interaction of child's emotionality and mother's reject-nonintervention predicted child's happiness. Child's emotionality, whose mother demonstrated a higher level of reject-nonintervention, was associated significantly with happiness. In addition, the association between mother's depression and child's happiness was mediated by mother's warmth-encouragement and reject-nonintervention. Results suggest the importance of mother's role in the context of intervention planning for child's happiness.

As people's income rises dramatically, people's happiness seems not as high as expected. In fact, there are two different arguments about the relationship between income level and happiness. The focus of the debate is whether the correlation between income and probability of happiness is positive or negative. Therefore, we hypothesizes that the relationship between income and probability of happiness presents an inverted U-shaped curve. Then, this paper sets China as an example to explore the effect of income on happiness. The data from the Chinese General Social Survey (CGSS) in 2015 is employed to conduct empirical analyses under the Probit model and the Zero-Inflation-Passion model. The empirical findings indicate that the effect of income on happiness presents an inverted U-shaped curve and significantly in statistic. Meanwhile, spouse's income, educational level, marriage time and house property have a positive and significant effect on happiness. Conversely, age and local living standards have a negative and significant effect on happiness. Unfortunately, even though registered residence and children have a negative effect on happiness, they do not get through the significant test. In order to ensure the robustness of our empirical results, we test the robustness of the above empirical results by adjusting the sample size. The results of robustness test verify that our empirical results are robust. Moreover, this paper also makes a small contribution to the current literature with a sample from China.

Purpose: This study was conducted to provide basic data on the nursing Happiness Index and identify factors influencing nurses by describing their perception of lifestyle, health behavior, nursing professionalism, Happiness Index, and turnover intention. Methods: On July 2012, 700 nurses from 10 general hospitals were surveyed, but 23 were omitted due to missing or incomplete data. The focus of this study was the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Happiness Index, consisting of 11 OECD identified topics concerning living conditions and quality of life. Data were analyzed using $x^2$-tests, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression with SPSS/WINdow 14.0. Results: Mean score for nurses' Happiness Index was 3.03 on a scale of 5. There were significant differences on the Happiness Index for the following: age, marriage, children, education, position, work experience, wages, number of beds, medical institution, health behavior, weight, and meal patterns. There was a positive correlation between the happiness index and nursing professionalism but a negative correlation between the happiness index and turnover intention. Conclusion: Results indicate that factors influencing happiness are autonomy, sense of calling and turnover intention suggesting the need to improve nursing professionalism for a life of happiness among hospital nurses.

The purpose of this study is to present policy implications for the efficiency of child-friendly city creation through an empirical analysis of the relationship between variables related to the effectiveness of child-friendly city creation and the creation of child-friendly city. For this purpose, the difference between before and after the certification of child-friendly cities was analyzed for children of local governments certified as child-friendly cities. According to the analysis, the factors in the six major areas of child-friendly city creation do not significantly affect children's regional satisfaction, living satisfaction, and happiness. Based on these analysis results, the necessity of creating a child-friendly city and the direction related to the creation of a child-friendly city were presented. We also present the limitations of our research and future research challenges.
