This work investigated the social, cultural, and economical impacts of the services that S Children's Library provides to local community and its residents. In this study I analyzed the user statistics by using Korean Library Automation System III, practiced a comparative analysis with other libraries over circulation efficiency, and reviewed the user's evaluation through user survey. The achievement of this study is to find out the value of S Children's Library by verifying the service status of S Children's Library based on the analyzed data, assessing the role and meaning of the children's library within the community, and measuring the economical contribution through user evaluation.

Children stage is an important period the foundation of growth is accomplished. During the period, children are the most sensitive to environmental effects and experiences and interactions with surroundings can make lots of effects on their physical and cognitive development. Under the background of the above contents, a representative institution of the society, which is helpful to cultivate children's reading habit, will be children library. The purposes of this research are to analyze intensively reading room among the children library's spatial organization and compare/analyze cases of children library's reading room with the elements of interior environment. The methods of research are theory study and case study. Through the on-the-site visiting and shooting, interior environment design was investigated and then, it was arranged, analyzed and evaluated. Cases were analyzed by elements of interior environment design evaluation. As the result, comfort was the highest and variety was the lowest. Especially, Songpa children library showed various factors generally through the various designs. 7 evaluative elements of children library's reading room were mutually different, but there was a certain different in relation of them. Especially, variety and flexibility must be more strengthened. So, children can interests and joy in reading room various designs are requested by getting out of library's uniformed furniture and arrangement plan.

The main Points of the 7th Education Program are: taking a serious view of development of children's individuality and creativity, and encouragement students their accord activity with applying digital reference for teaching and learning. Children's library digital material room operation, and analysis of using and demand of public school 100 pupils. In 4th Chapter : Suggesting conclusion of revitalization of children's library digital material room based on utilization and demand appeared through this study.

The purpose of this study was to select the evaluation criteria for the physical spaces of a children's library in an effort to back up children's development in a more positive and constructive manner, as the physical spaces of a children's library are likely to affect their development. Theories of children's developmental characteristics were reviewed, and user benefit criteria were analyzed, which were the basis of the spatial conditions to facilitate their development in consideration of the developmental characteristics of different stages and domains. And then conceptual words that corresponded to the concept of benefit and commonly appeared in earlier studies of children's libraries and children's spaces were selected to embody the concept of benefit. 12 conceptual words were presented as corresponding words of benefit, out of which the majority were selected from among the previously selected words and some were added by this researcher. Several libraries were reviewed by the 12 standards, and a spatial criteria checklist for a children's library that focused on benefits provided to growing children was provided.

This paper is a preliminary study to develop the standard job model for strengthening children services in Korean public libraries. To do so, the researchers reviewed and analysed the current status, features, and job of children's services of sample public libraries in the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, and Korea. As a result. library management, development and preservation of childrens' materials, technical services and database management, public services, program services related to book and reading, cooperation activities with the relevant agencies and facilities revealed as a key job of children's librarian. Based on these results, subsequent research will be to develop a standard job model for children's services of public library in Korea.

Today, the importance of library services for children is well acknowledged by many. The children's rooms of the public library in addition to the children's library must be the place where the community's young ones grow up and learn to give back to their society. Also, the libraries are a life-long source of education. However, not all of the public libraries in our country have librarians specialized in children and young adults. The lack of specialized librarians prevents the public libraries from keeping up with the rapid change of society, which in turn prevents the libraries from meeting children's needs for information, culture, and recreation. The purpose of this research has two goals in mind. The first objective is to find out how to effectively build cooperative networks that will help the children's librarians of both public and children's libraries to better serve the children. The second objective is to solve any problems the librarians may encounter while serving the children by studying the formal and informal contents of the cooperative networks, and identifying which areas are in need of these cooperative networks.

The purpose of this paper is to improve curricula of the library and information science education as well as continuing education for children's librarians. For this purpose, the study examined current curricula provided for children's librarianship and continuing education programs. A questionnaire survey of the educational background of current children's librarians was also conducted. Based on the results, this study proposed model curricula in the library and information science education and continuing education programs to train children's librarians.

With accommodation of a population of many young people and families due to Hangang River New Town Housing Project and development of railway station spheres, a need is increasing to improve the quality of public libraries service for Gimpo citizens and to establish more libraries. This study thus analyzed the book lending data of Gimpo City libraries, and the city's libraries-related social media big data in an effort to forecast the users, and thus to propose four library service improvement measures. First, in terms of book gathering and book development policy plans, a proposal was made to expand good books for children and youth, and to expand general original-language books related to learning of English, and English books for children. Second, in terms of the establishment of additional libraries or specialization strategy, a proposal was made to establish exclusive children's libraries or English libraries, and to establish library specialization strategy with a focus on children and English themes. Third, in terms of library culture programs, a proposal was made to provide library culture programs in relation to children education and to expand weekend library culture programs. Fourth, in terms of library facilities, considering the convenience of parking facilities, a proposal was made to establish libraries near apartment complexes.

The paper analyzes local children's libraries' status of application of classification scheme and problems and difficulties in its application in order to be used as basic material for development of classification scheme for exclusive use of children's libraries. Through survey, the paper researched 96 local children's libraries, and the results showed that KDC-applied libraries numbered 53 and were the highest, libraries which developed their own classification scheme numbered 22, and libraries which applied classification scheme for children's library numbered 13. Further, many asserted that there needs to be a development of standard classification scheme to be used in children's library. On problems and difficulties in applying classification scheme, notes such as difficulty of accommodating various forms of children's books(such as comic books and picture books), placing too much emphasis on collection of books on certain topic, and lack of topic categories appropriate for characteristics of collected books were voiced, and by holding additional discussion on these, the paper raised the usefulness of the dissertation to be used as basic materials for developing classification scheme for exclusive use of children's library in the future.
