The purpose of this study was to examine parents' perceptions towards, and the importance and performance levels of, foodservices in child-care centers and to suggest ways to increase foodservice quality and promote efficient operations in the future. A questionnaire survey was provided to 540 parents and the return rates 82%. The survey period was from June 20 to July 27,2007. The collected data were statistically analyzed with the SAS package program using descriptive statistical analysis, t-tests, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple comparisons, factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows: The parents perceived that foodservice operations promoted their children's health and helped them form desirable dietary habits. The parents also had a high level of perception toward the need for foodservice, earning greater than 4.5 points out of 5 points. Their perceptions of foodservice quality were examined by four dimensions of importance and performance levels. While the parents gave 4 points or greater of 5 points to most quality attributes of importance level, they gave 4 points of less out of 5 points to most quality attributes of performance level. As for the importance and performance levels of the quality dimensions of meal service, the parents regarded sanitation as the most important dimension. IPA showed that 'organic food materials' was included as a 'focus here' area. The overall satisfaction level for foodservice was 3.59 out of 5 points. A higher level of satisfaction was shown when a dietitian was present as well as in public childcare centers. According to multiple regression analysis, 53.51% of the variance in the respondents' overall satisfaction scores was explained by factors such as food, sanitation, environment, and foodservice effects.
In this study, the problem of child care gaps has arisen due to the expansion of women's entry into the workforce and the increase in working couples, and the care cliff phenomenon after children enter elementary school has been identified as one of the causes of women's career disconnection and low birth rates, and child care services have been initiated to solve care problems and balance work and family. The importance of childcare services to the safety and well-being of children has been highlighted by the restrictions on school attendance and the absence of caregivers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The government has been making policy efforts to reduce the gap in child care, but problems with the effectiveness and efficiency of the child care system have arisen due to unstable target selection and delivery systems by ministries and projects in the implementation of child care services. Therefore, this study examines the child care services implemented by each ministry to reduce the blind spots of after-school care services in the community and prepare efficient operation plans for various delivery systems, and seeks directions for the development of child care services.
The purpose of this study is to analyze physical activities in 'Teachers' Guidance Books for the Nuri Curriculum of 4-year-old children' through simulated instruction of pre-service teachers and, through this, to help them better perform physical activities in their field education for early-aged. The subjects of the study were 30 sophomore students in the early-aged children's Education Department in their 2ndsemester of K University located in Gyeonggi-province. For the analysis of physical activities in 'Teachers' Guidance Books for Nuri Curriculum of 4-year-old children', a qualitative study was conducted and data were collected through informal interviews, reflective journals of pre-service teachers and 30 sessions of education assessment sports. The results of the analysis on the physical activities in 'Teachers' Guidance Books for Nuri Curriculum of 4-year-old children' are as follows; first, preliminary teachers of early-aged children understood the major goal of physical activities in 'Teachers' Guidance Books for Nuri Curriculum of 4-year-old children' as 'expressing.' Second, the teachers thought careful analysis is required on media such as 'video, illustration books, sounds, picture materials' presented together with physical activities in 'Teachers' Guidance Books for Nuri Curriculum of 4-year-old children.' Third, teachers pointed out 'activities that were difficult to understand for pre-service early childhood teachers' and 'improperly presented activities different from the title' as errors and problems in the performance of the Nuri Curriculum. Fourth, as for 'points to make improvement on', pre-service early childhood teachers' requested basic physical activities before the actual activities, the provision of proper actual materials, the necessity of active demonstrations of teachers and making a regulation for the situation of physical activities by early-aged children and teachers together. The results of the study illustrate that deep contemplation and judgment is required of the teachers before conducting physical activities of the Nuri Curriculum.
The purpose of the study was to review the literature with the following three themes : 1) the necessity and benefits of inclusion for young children with severe disabilities, 2) the solutions to overcome the concerns for the inclusion of young children with severe disabilities, and 3) the implication for the inclusion of young children with disabilities in Korea. The results of the study indicated that it was necessary to support pre-service and in-service early childhood education teachers to be professional educators who can create the most effective inclusive educational environments. As well, the results showed that teachers, parents, and relevant professionals need to use various strategies to activate inclusive education for young children with severe disabilities. Based on the review, the study provided the instructional strategies and educational implications for the effective inclusion of young children with severe disabilities.
The purpose of this study was to find factors affecting the psychological well-being of married working women in Seoul. For this purpose, survey data form 332 employed married women residing in Seoul are used to evaluate the relative effects of Psychological well-being of married working women. Survey questions included demographic information, housework and child-rearing related variables, work related variables, variables related with social support systems, items on child care services for the preschoolers, and psychological well-being of married working women. The major findings were as follows: 1) The psychological well-being of married working women score is 36.14(mean score is 32). The difference between the psychological well-being of married working women varied this according to socio-demographic variables: educational level, income level, spouse's support, occupation, and job satisfaction. 2) The factors that affected psychological well-bing were amount of household labor by husband, job satisfaction, socio-support systems, and educare service satisfaction. 3) The factor that had the most significant impact on the psychological well-being of married working women is job satisfaction. It is suggested to utilize the Employment Assistant Program to establish friendly working environment for married women.
The purpose of this study was to examine the causes of career interruptions among dental hygienists, institutional measures required for their long service and ways of creating a stable employment culture for them in determine how to resolve labor shortage, create stable jobs, and step up the reemployment of idle manpower. In addition, the following suggestions are made for the establishment of a stable employment culture for dental hygienists by analyzing related literature, research materials, and information such as forums for establishing appropriate jobs for female dental workers. First, a system should be set up to prevent career interruption among dental hygienists. The work environment should be improved to prevent career breaks, and the wages, working hours, and working style should be efficiently structured to maintain the tenure of employees. Second, a plan should be devised to make use of idle manpower, and a variety of necessary programs should be developed. With respect to regular working hours, the time conversion system should be used, which reduces the amount of time one would want to work while receiving a national subsidy. Third, dental hygienists working in different occupations for marriage, childbirth, childcare, school and personal hygiene should make a way to return to the dental system immediately when they want. Fourth, the government should take institutional measures and offer down-to-earth support and benefits for women consideration their social characteristics to guarantee a balance between work and childcare.

The main purpose of this study was to present the basic materials that help the nursing of the infants and consultation of childcare by examinating the knowledge and practice of the mothers about the weaning diet. The data for this study was collected from 205 mothers with infants(6-36 months) who visited two hospitals or one university hospital in Seoul, who were living in one apartment Suwon area between July. 7. and September 10, 2000. The 57 questionnaires were used for collecting the data and SAS program was used to analyse the data. The results are as follows. 1. The items of low score in the result of the knowledge data were as follows. [Initial weaning time, the important nutritional problem in infant, considering factor during feeding, the relation of proper weaning food & age, the time of used by cup, to apply of proper spicies in weaning food, the time of completing weaning, the time of stopping weaning at abnormal sign, and the inappopriate reason of dry mixed powdered food (Sunsik) as a weaning food.] 2. Higher educated mothers presented more high score than lower educated mothers in the knowledge about the weaning. (p<0.05) 3. Before the weaning, more mothers were using the commercial milk (51.2%) than the breast milk (13.2%). 4. Mothers get the knowledge about the weaning from the infants care book of cook books(26.4%). 68% of mothers had not received any consulting service with regard to the weaning, 10.2% of them consulted Pediatrician about the weaning and 0.5% of them with nurse. 5. Most mothers began supplymentary food, from four to six months (65.4%). the ratio was about the same as the ratio of mothers who knEw the appropriate time for the introduction of supplymentary food(83.2%) 6. The main solid food was commercial food, not home-prepared food. 7. Higher educated mothers used home-prepared weaning food more often than lower educated mothers(P<0.05). 8. The used rate by spoon was 57.4%, but the rate of mother's knowledge data was 95.0%. 9. The time of completing the weaning was in 12-18 months(53.8%). It is similar to the mother's knowledge data(52.7%) Conclusion ; According to knowledge data, it turns out that most mothers know moderatly about the weaning (everage 60/100). However their knowledge and practice on the methods & procedures on the weaning were inadquate. Especially, most mothers did not consult with those qualification about the weaning. Therefore, the role of the nurse as a provider of information on the weaning should be emphasized with varied educational programs in many health care center.
This current study sought to investigate effects of in-service teachers' achievement goal orientation, organizational citizenship behavior on job-satisfaction and to discuss the improvement of early childhood teachers' achievement goal orientation and organizational citizenship behavior. A total of 178 teachers participated in this study and completed questionnaires. To analyze the data, Pearson's correlation and hierarchical multiple-regression analysis were used. The results were as follows. Firstly, relatively correlation existed between teachers' achievement goal orientation and job satisfaction. Particularly, mastery-approach orientation, performance-approach orientation showed the relatively high correlation with job satisfaction and its sub-scales. Also, teachers' organizational citizenship behavior had relatively positive correlation with their job-satisfaction and its sub-scales. Secondly, teachers' achievement goal orientation and its sub-scale had 38% significant effects on their job-satisfaction. And teachers' organizational citizenship behavior appeared to have 8.6% influence on job-satisfaction. Based on the results, several ways were discussed to develop and improve teachers' achievement goal orientation and organizational citizenship behavior.

The location and distribution of daycare centers do not reflect local daycare demand enough although government has increased facilities and financial supports to solve the low birthrate as a social problem. This study tried to examine spatial inequality of daycare center distribution by comparing the number of daycare facilities between city and rural communities in Jeollanam-Do. Analyzing the differences between city (5 Cities) and rural area (17 Guns) in Jeollanam-Do, it has been found that there were large differences in the number of available facilities per 1,000 children between Cities (10.9 facilities) and Guns as rural area (6.2 facilities). The average number of facilities in each City and Gun also showed a large discrepancy as a City has 147.8 facilities and a Gun has 15.4 facilities, respectively. There were total 78 Dong or Myeon with no facility at all as a dead zone of daycare, and 8 of them were Myeons in cities with 560 children, which accounted for 0.7% of total population of children in cities. On the other hand, 70 Myeons in Guns with 5,269 children have no facilities at all, which accounted for 11% of total population of children in Guns. Public facilities that parents prefer were more in cities (87) than Guns (28). Therefore, it is necessary to consider various childcare policies with minimizing discrepancies between city and rural area and investigating more accurate local demands and characteristics.
The purpose of this study was to examine whether there was a difference in the recognition and teaching strategies for the young child's behavioral problems according to teachers' socio-demographic variables and ego-resiliency level by analyzing survey responses from 238 teachers of 3, 4, and 5-year-old children. This study found that the group of teachers with the education level of junior college graduation or higher showed higher degree of recognition of children's behavioral problems than the group of teachers with a lower level of education. And the group of teachers at kindergartens showed a higher degree of recognition of children's behavioral problems than the group of teachers at day care centers. Regarding the difference according to the level of ego-resiliency, the group of higher ego-resiliency showed higher degree of recognition of children's behavioral problems than the group of lower ego-resiliency. In terms of teachers' teaching strategies for the behavioral problems, differences were recognized at sub-categories. To explain, differences were recognized in accordance with the teachers' age and career as well as their education level and work place; the higher the teachers' age, career, and education the more often they used the positive prevention strategy I. And teachers at kindergartens resorted to the negative response strategies more often than those at day care centers. Finally, the teaching strategies for the behavioral problems according to the teachers' ego-resiliency, group differences were seen in all the sub categories. The result of this study suggested that the need to develop and apply such programs for pre-service teachers and for teacher reeducation reflect those variables.
