취업모의 일-자녀양육 양립 부담감과 영유아기 자녀를 위한 시간연장 보육서비스 요구 (Working Mothers' Work-Child Rearing Strain and Their Demand on Back-up Care Services)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the difference of working mothers' work-child rearing strain and their demand on special care services according to each mother's work conditions and childcare situation. 477 working mothers who have only one child each were gathered by the use of the purposive quota sampling method and analyzed with t-test, F-test, correlation, and multiple regression. The main results showed that working mothers had high work-child rearing strain and demand on special care services when their working conditions were inflexible and they were not satisfied with the care services for their child. The major variable which explained working mothers' demand on special care services was e their work-child rearing strain.

자녀의 초등학교 입학 전후 어머니의 양육불안에 미치는 영향요인 분석 (An Analysis of the Influential Factors on Mother's Child-rearing Anxiety Before and After Their Children's Entrance into Elementary School)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to find the tendencies and differences of mother's child-rearing anxiety before and after their children enter into elementary school, to analyze the factors influencing child-rearing anxiety at each time, and thereby to seek a support plan at the time of transition. Methods: The subjects of this study were 181 mothers who participated in two surveys which were conducted before and after their child entered into elementary school. Results: Firstly, mother's child-rearing anxiety before and after their children's entrance into elementary school was at a middle level, but increased significantly when they experienced their children's transition to elementary school. Secondly, mother's child-rearing anxiety, before their children's entrance into elementary school, was influenced by private education, the collection of educational information, cognitive ability, whether or not to develop a work status change plan, and birth order sequentially. Thirdly, child-rearing anxiety after their children's entrance into elementary school was significantly influenced by child-rearing anxiety before their children's entrance into elementary school and the mother's employment. Conclusion/Implications: This study is meaningful in the point that it suggested the necessity for the cooperation between multiple systems, such as systematic and stepwise parenting education, the importance of offering information to educational institutions and local governments, and for work- family support policy to prioritize children in order to support children's successful transition into elementary school.

결혼이주여성의 배우자지지와 가족지지가 자녀양육에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Support from Spouse and Family on the Child Rearing among Marriage Immigrant Women)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 결혼이주여성의 배우자 및 가족지지가 자녀양육에 미치는 영향을 파악하여, 이주여성들이 안정적으로 자녀양육 행동을 할 수 있도록 기초자료를 마련하고자 시도되었다. 본 연구는 결혼이주여성 110명을 대상으로 실시한 서술적 상관관계 연구이다. 자료분석은 인구사회학적 특성에 따른 양육부담감, 양육효능감은 t-test, ANOVA, 가족지지에 따른 양육부담감, 양육효능감과의 상관관계는 피어슨 상관관계, 양육부담감과 양육효능감에 미치는 영향은 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 배우자 및 가족지지, 결혼이주여성의 일반적 특성에 따른 양육부담감에 대한 차이는 연령, 학력, 가구소득, 배우자 직업, 배우자의 자녀돌봄 시간에 따라, 양육효능감은 연령, 출신국가, 결혼경로, 사용하는 언어에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 또 양육부담감은 배우자지지, 가구소득, 연령과 유의한 부적 상관관계를 보였고, 양육효능감은 배우자지지, 배우자의 자녀돌봄 시간, 연령과 유의한 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 이주여성의 자녀양육에 있어 양육부담감은 가족지지, 연령, 배우자의 자녀 돌봄 시간, 양육효능감은 배우자지지, 가족지지, 연령이 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 근거로 이주여성들의 바람직한 자녀양육행동을 지원하기 위해 배우자 및 가족지지 향상 중재프로그램을 개발하여 적용할 것을 제안한다.

학령기 아동이 지각하는 어머니의 양육태도와 아동의 문제행동 (Children's Perception of Mother's Child-rearing Attitudes and Problem Conduct of Children)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to describe mother's child-rearing attitudes and problem conduct of children as perceived by children and to examine correlation between maternal nurturing attitudes and child problem behavior. Method: The participants were 338 fifth and sixth graders who attended two randomly selected elementary schools in the city of G, Gangwon province. Child-rearing attitudes of the mother were rated on a 5-pointed scale that developed by Schaefer and added by Oh & Lee(1982). Problem conduct of children were rated on a 3-pointed scale of the K-YSR by Oh Kyung-Ja et al.(1997). The data were gathered from October 2 to October 28, 2004, and the collected data were analyzed with SPSS 10.0 program. Results: For the children's perception of mother's child-rearing attitude, student had a relatively high mean scores of 3.70±0.44. Correlations between the mother's child-rearing attitude and general characteristics of the children showed statistically significantly different according to grade, father-mother relations, type of residence and extent to which father shared household chores. The mean score for problem conducts of children was 0.47±0.25. The average for their internal behavior problems was 0.52±0.33, and for external behavior problems was 0.44±0.24. There were statistically significantly differences in the behavior problem scores of the children according to the general characteristics of grade, education, occupation, mother-father relations, extent to which father shared in household chores and religion. As to correlation between mother's child-rearing attitude and their problem conduct, every type of attitude had a significantly moderate reverse correlation to every type of behavior problem of the children(r=-.431, p=.000). Conclusion: Mother's child-rearing attitudes might affect the problem conduct of children, and mother should try to treat their children with affection and respect, to maintain good relations with father, and to bring their children up coherently in an autonomous, permissive, positive and democratic manner.

조부모의 손자녀 양육실제에 관한 질적 연구 (A Qualitative Study on Child-rearing by Grandparents)

  • Qualitative research was used to discover factors, relationships, and practices affecting rearing of a grandchild by grandparents. Results showed that the grandparents' motives for rearing a grandchild were parental obligation and responsibility, the fate of unavoidable situations, feelings of worth and affection, helping household economy, and absence of another reliable place for child-rearing. Grandchild-rearing roles included substitute mother, disciplinarian, and playmate. Grandchild-rearing difficulties included such psychological problems as insufficient time for their own selves, concern that they might also raise another grandchild, conflicts with family members, economic problems, and physical problems such as grandparents' worsening health conditions, double pressures of housework and childcare, and stress from loss of memory and fatigue.

아버지의 양육참여와 유아의 역할수용능력 및 친사회적 행동과의 관계 (Father's Child-Rearing Behaviors and Children's Role-Taking in Children's Prosocial Behavior)

  • The purpose of this study was to answer the following questions. (1) Is there any relationship between father's child-rearing behavior and children's role-taking, between father's child-rearing behaviors and children's prosocial behavior?(2) Is there any relationship between children's role-taking and children's prosocial behavior? (3) Is there any differences in father's child-rearing behaviors, children's role-taking and children's prosocial behavior in relation to children's sex, SES, and mother's job? (4) what are the most important predictor variables which influence on children's role-taking? (5) What are the most important predictor variables which influence on children's prosocial behavior? The subjects of this study were 72boys and 70girls attending the nursery schools and their mothers in Busan. For the measurement of father's child-rearing behaviors, Choi's(1991) questionnare were used and for children's role-taking, children were interviewed with the Flavell's apple-dog stories. children's prosocial behavior was measured by amount of candies to share with classmates. The results were as follows: (1) There were significant correlation between father's child-rearing behaviors and children's role-taking, between father's was positively related to children's prosocial behavior. (2) Children's role-taking was positively related to children's prosocial behavior. (3) There were significant differences in father's child-rearing behaviors, children's role-taking and children's prosocial behavior according to children's sex, SES, and mother's job. (4) Father's child-rearing behaviors and SES were the most important predictor variables influencing on children's role-taking. (5) Children's sex, children's role-taking and father's childrearing behaviors were the most important predictor variables influencing on children's prosocial behavior. The findings stated above seemed father's child-rearing behaviors and children's role-taking, influenced on children's prosocial behavior.

학령기 아동의 의복행동과 심리적 특성 및 어머니의 양육태도와의 관계 (Clothin Behavior Related to Child-Rearing Attitudes and Selected Psychological Variables of Elementary School Children)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of clothing behavior with such psychological variables as self-esteem and impulsiveness, to disclose the relationship between children's clothing behavior and their mother's child-rearing attitueds, to investigate the levels of clothing behavior according to children's sex and their mothers having job. Questionaires for clothing behavior and child-rearing attitudes were chosen from ones which were used in privious studies, and the items were selected on the Cronbach's Alpha Reliability Coefficient. For mearsurement of impulsiveness, a portion of "personality Inventory" by Beommo Chung was used, while Robinson and Shaver's self-esteem scale was adopted for mearsutement of self-esteem. Clothing behavior was composed of 6 variables: clothing interest, clothing satisfation, clothing management, clothing sex-role, clothing comfort, and clothing independence. Samples were 380 boys and girls (4th, 5th, 6th grade) of three elementary schools in Seoul, Korea. The data were analyzed by correlation coefficient, t-test, F-test, and multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows : 1. Self-esteem had positive relations with clothing satisfaction, clothing management, and clothing sex-role. Girls who had higher self-esteem were less interested in traditional sex-role attitudes in clothing. Boys who had higher self-esteem were higher in clothing independence. 2. Those who had higher impulsiveness were higher in clothing interest, but lowere in clothing satisfaction, clothing management, and clothing independence. 3. Loving and receptive child-rearing attitude had positive relations with clothing satisfaction and clothing management, but a negative relation with clothing sex-role. When mothers had higher loving and receptive child-rearing attitude, their sons had higher traditional attitude in clothing sex-role. Democratic and self-regulating child-rearing attitude had no relation with clothing behavior. 4. To lpredict clothing satisfaction, 4 independent variables (selfesteem, impulsiveness, mother's loving and receptive child-rearing attitude, and mother's democratic and self-regulating child-rearing attitude) were selected. The explanatory power of the four variables was 15%. Clothing satisfaction was most influenced by self-esteem, and not significantly influenced by mother's child-rearing attitudes. 5. Clothing interest and clothing management were higher with the girls than with the boys, while clothing comfort was higher with the bodys. 6. When children's mothers had a job, the children tended to have higher liberal attitudes in clothing sex-role.

자녀가 지각한 부모의 양육태도 및 이에 영향을 주는 요인 (Korean Parents' Child Rearing Attitudes Perceived by their Children: The Influence of Demographic Variables)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the several types of Korean parent's child rearing attitudes perceived by their children and the related variables. The study included the development of a "Children's Report of Korean Parent's Behavior Inventory"(CKPBI). Subjects were 1722 5th and 6th grade elementary school children from 5 urban cities in Korea. CKPBI and a Home Environment Questionnaire were used to gather data for the study. Stepwise multiple regression analysis, cross-tabulation analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and factor analysis were conducted for the purpose of the study. A CKPBI which consists of 46 items for father's and 48 items for mother's was found as both a valid and reliable instrument for measuring the child rearing attitudes of Korean parents. A factor analysis resulted in identifying two factors both for mothers and fathers; they were the "Warmth factor" and "Rejection-Authority factor". Eight types of child rearing attitudes were found for Korean parents. The SES of family significantly predicted Korean parent's child rearing attitudes. The SES of the family, and sex of the child determined variations in Korean parents' child rearing attitudes. Maternal religion had a significant correlation with both boys' and girls' perceptions of parental attitudes. The results of this study indicate high inconsistency within each parent and high consistency between both parents.

  • This study investigates the infant's cognitive and motor development, mother's parenting knowledge, and father's participation of child-rearing according to demographic variables and child-care related variables. A total of 112 infants aged from 11.5 months to 12.5 months old were tested by Korean Bayley Scales of Infant Development II; in addition, their mothers participated in the survey. The major results were as follows: First, among five areas of parenting knowledge, mothers attained the highest score on socio-emotional development and the lowest on cognitive and language development. Second, fathers participation in child-rearing were related to their income and the time to start child-care center. Third, the development of infants were positively associated with the father's participation in child-rearing. The implications for designing child-care policy and parent education program were discussed.

생산적인 아버지노릇과 유아의 애착안정성 (Generative Fathering and Toddler Attachment Security)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the father-child relationship. The final sample for the data analyses included 83 three-year old children and their lathers. The instrument of study was the 'generative fathering'(by Yee et al, 1999). This measurement consisted two areas, first is the father's involvement in child rearing, and second is the responsibility on child rearing. And the child attachment security was observed through Attachment Q-Set(Waters, 1987) in the child's home. The results were following: 1. The mean of the child's attachment security was .33 and the range of attachment security was from -.07 to .79. 2. Father had higher responsibility on rearing, more involved in the child care. 3. The child's attachment security was predicted by the father's involvement in rearing. The father's responsibility didn't show the relationship with the child's attachment security. Especially among the subcategories of involvement, the activity with child had a significant relation to attachment security. So the father's interaction with child was meaningful for the child to develop the internal working model.
