  • The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of directors' leadership style and the type of decision-making on improving child care teachers' job satisfaction which is essential to operate high-quality nursing. The survey method was used for 184 child care teachers who work for child care centers. The collected data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance and posteriori test to find out the differences in teachers' job satisfaction according to their recognition of directors' leadership and decision-making. The result showed that differences exist in child care teachers' job satisfaction according to the leadership and decision-making of directors as recognized by the teachers. The score of child care teachers' self-development, work, welfare & social stability related to job satisfaction hit the highest when directors' leadership type was efficiency-centered. Similarly, participatory decision-making type, which is the most ideal type, scored the highest in all sub-components of job satisfaction in the case of directors' type of decision-making. This implies that the directors who prefer positive leadership and democratic participatory decision-making type increase teachers' job satisfaction which will positively affect the child care centers' qualitative development.

  • This study defined awareness of professionalism and job stress in 353 child-care teachers of children with special needs and analyzed the relative contribution of professional awareness to job stress. Teachers showed high awareness of 'ethics' and 'enthusiasm enhancing professionalism', and this awareness correlated highly with professionalism in the 'specialized knowledge and skills' sub-factors. Teachers showed high levels of stress in the 'general duty' and the 'guidance of children with special needs' categories, and this correlated highly with stress caused by 'child-care center management.' The results of canonical correlation analysis indicated that of professionalism sub-factors only the awareness of 'social services' contributed positively to job stress.

Methods: The participants of this study were 343 child-care teachers from 131 daycare center in Seoul and Gyeon-gi province. Statistical analyses of data for this study included descriptive statistics and hierarchical regressions. The moderating effect of social support was analyzed by using the procedures proposed by Baron and Kenny (1986). Results: The results of this study indicate that the level of child-care teachers' depression increases the level of burn-out and that the level of social support in workplace and the level of social support from out of workplace decreases the level of burn-out. In addition, social support from out of workplace only moderated the influence of child-care teachers' depression on their burn-out. Conclusion/Implications: The influence of child-care teachers' depression on burn-out was lower when the level of social support from out of workplace was high, compared to when it was low.

SPSS programme was used for statistical analysis. Sixty five point eight percent of the Korean early child care center teachers provided a certain amount of foods for children. But $20.9\%$ of Swedish provided a certain amount of foods for children, $79.1\%$ of them provided the amount a child wanted. Sixty one point seven percent of Korean teachers allowed a child leave foods on the plate, but $95.5\%$ of Swedish teachers asked a child eat all food on the plate. When a child didn't want to eat, $61.1\%$ of the Korean teachers fed him/her, but $11.0\%$ of the Swedish teachers did. Only $42.4\%$ of the Swedish teachers allowed a children eat sweets, but $92.9\%$ of Korean did. • This is a case study on how infants' behaviors change after their child care teachers use Responsive Interactions to them. The participants are five infants and five child care teachers from five employer-supported child care centers run and managed by H foundation. This study analyzes the changes in infants' pivotal developmental behaviors based on interactions between an infant and a child care teacher in video recordings, anecdotal records, Reflective Journal written by the teachers, and data on in-depth interviews with the child care teachers. The results show that Responsive Interactions have brought positive changes to infants' pivotal developmental behaviors(Attention to Activity, Problem Solving Persistence, Involvement, Cooperation, Initiation, Joint Attention and Affect). It suggests that child care teachers who are in charge of taking care of infants should realize and practice the importance of Responsive Interaction Strategy in order to help the infants develop their pivotal behaviors.

Focus group interviews were held at the subjects' child care centers in July 2011. Each focus group participated in one interview and the average length of these interviews was 2 hours. Four focus group interviews were recorded and transcribed. The gathered data was analyzed within and across groups according to focus group interview analysis methods. The analysis showed five categories in both the teacher group and the director group. Reorganizing this analysis revealed three phases: before, in the course of, and after the transfer. Further description about the job transfer was given for each phase of the two groups. This research is significantly meaningful in that it brings light to the experiences around job transfer for both groups at the same time.

  • Purpose: This study was performed to develop an infection prevention education program for child care teachers and to verify its effects. Methods: The study was conducted using a nonequivalent control group with a pretest-posttest design. Four private daycare centers (2 centers per city) that were alike in terms of the number of children by age, number of child care teachers, and child care environment were chosen. Participants were assigned to the experimental group (n=20) or control group (n=20). As a part of the program, visiting education (90 min) was provided in the 1st week, and smartphone application education (10 min) was provided thrice a week, in the 2nd and 3rd weeks. Results: Child care teachers' self-efficacy for infection prevention revealed a significant interaction effect between the group and time of measurement (F=21.62, p<.001). In terms of infection prevention behavior, a significant difference was observed between the experimental and control groups (z=-5.36, p<.001). Conclusion: The program implemented in this study was effective in improving the infection prevention self-efficacy and infection prevention behavior of child care teachers. Thus, this program may be effective in enhancing their infection control.

This study was carried out using a one-group pretest-posttest design based on a survey of 400 child care teachers in 3 cities. The educational program for child care teachers consisted of three parts: child health observations, disease management for child and emergency care for children. The educational program was conducted 3 times for 3 hours, totaling 9 hours. The educational program showed better grades of child care teachers in child health observation, emergency care for children, and disease management for children. The finding indicates that more child care teachers will adopt a health care education program to improve the quality of child care service.
