  • Objectives : Tai Chi for arthritis was developed in 1997 by Paul Lam, M.D. of family medicine in Australia. It is an exercise treatment program and a good approaching method for arthritis. However its application is limited to arthritis of knee joint only. Even there have been no clinical study in korean traditional medical society. The aim of this study is to investigate effect of the Tai Chi for arthritis on chronic pain of body. Methods : We designed this trial as objectives were (1) senior female over 60 years, (2) suffering for osteoarthritis and chronic body pain, (3) have no physical or mental dysfunctions (4) able to walk and exercise alone. Objectives mactched these criteria had been trained the Tai Chi for arthritis 2 hours a day for 21 weeks. Before and after training, pain of 8 joints (neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, waist, hip, knee, ankle) were estimated with the VAS(Visual Analog Scale). Results : Training the Tai Chi for arthritis relieved multiple joint pain(especially neck, lower back, shoulder, wrist and knee) and these were statistically significant. Conclusions : This study is a pilot study to investigate effect of the Tai Chi for arthritis on chronic pain of whole body. Absence of control group, and other scale to test joint function except VAS were limitations of this study. It is the first clinical approach about Tai Chi in korean medicine field, also the first study of Tai Chi for pain of the whole body.

  • There are two transcriptions of "ChiJongBang" in Korea at the moment. The first is the Jangseo-gak ibrary transcription(K3-380). The title is "ChiJongBang(治腫方)" and it starts with the contents of "ChiJongBang(治腫方)", followed by "HoeChunYoGyeol(回春要訣)", "NoInSeopYangBang(老人攝養方)", "SoABang(小兒方)". "ChiJongBang(治腫方)" does not even take up a large portion of the book. The other transcription is "ChiJongBang(治腫方)" in Geojil's "Uihui(宜彙)", which was presented into the worldin 1871(the 8th year of King Go-jong)by GeumRiSanIn(錦里山人). The contents of the two transcriptions are the same, and both are left by ImEonGuk. The latter part is identical to the contents of "ChimGuGyeongHeomBang". It was common fora medical book to have additional useful information attatched in the end, so it was thought that somebody added a part of "ChimGuGyeongHeomBang" at the end of "ChiJongBiBang". But the discovery of a woodcut "ChiJongBang" in Korean annotation confirmed that the making of this book was led by the government, and the fact that abscess was a big part of healthcare around the ImJinWaeRan(Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592) period.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to test a path model for the factors related to undergraduate nursing students' clinical practicum stress, based on Lazarus and Folkman's stress-coping model. Methods: This study utilized a path analysis design. A total of 235 undergraduate nursing students participated in this study. The variables in the hypothetical path model consisted of clinical practicum, emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, Nun-chi, and nursing professionalism. We tested the fit of the hypothetical path model using SPSS/WIN 23.0 and AMOS 22.0. Results: The final model fit demonstrated a satisfactory statistical acceptance level: goodness-of-fit-index=.98, adjusted goodness-of-fit-index=.91, comparative fit index=.98, normed fit index=.95, Tucker-Lewis index=.92, and root mean square error of approximation=.06. Self-efficacy (${\beta}=-.22$, p=.003) and Nun-chi behavior (${\beta}=-.17$, p=.024) were reported as significant factors affecting clinical practicum stress, explaining 10.2% of the variance. Nursing professionalism (${\beta}=.20$, p=.006) and self-efficacy (${\beta}=.45$, p<.001) had direct effects on emotional intelligence, explaining 45.9% of the variance. Self-efficacy had indirect effects on Nun-chi understanding (${\beta}=.20$, p<.001) and Nun-chi behavior (${\beta}=.09$, p=.005) through emotional intelligence. Nursing professionalism had indirect effects on Nun-chi understanding (${\beta}=.09$, p=.005) and Nun-chi behavior (${\beta}=.09$, p=.005) through emotional intelligence. The variables for self-efficacy and nursing professionalism explained 29.1% of the Nun-chi understanding and 18.2% of the Nun-chi behavior, respectively. Conclusion: In undergraduate nursing education, it is important to identify and manage factors that affect clinical practicum stress. The findings of this study emphasize the importance of Nun-chi, self-efficacy, emotional intelligence, and nursing professionalism in the development of an educational strategy for undergraduate nursing students.

  • In this paper, using a simple formula, we evaluate the conditional Fourier-Feynman transforms and the conditional convolution products of cylinder type functions, and show that the conditional Fourier-Feynman transform of the conditional convolution product is expressed as a product of the conditional Fourier-Feynman transforms. Also, we evaluate the conditional Fourier-Feynman transforms of the functions of the forms exp {$\int_{O}^{T}$ $\theta$(s,$\chi$(s))ds}, exp{$\int_{O}^{T}$ $\theta$(s,$\chi$(s))ds}$\Phi$($\chi$(T)), exp{$\int_{O}^{T}$ $\theta$(s,$\chi$(s))d${\zeta}$(s)}, exp{$\int_{O}^{T}$ $\theta$(s,$\chi$(s))d${\zeta}$(s)}$\Phi$($\chi$(T)) which are of interest in Feynman integration theories and quantum mechanics.

  • Treatment for breast cancer produces side effects that diminish functional capacity and quality of life (QOL) among survivors. Tai Chi is a moderate form of exercise that may improve functional capacity, physical activity and oxidative stress. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of regular Tai Chi exercise on malondialdehyde (MDA), SOD and physical fitness (muscle strength, flexibility, flexion, extension, adduction, and abduction). Forty obese women were recruited from a public health center and divided into control (CON: n=20) and trained (EXP: n=20) groups. The Tai Chi exercise group participated in a 12-week (4 times/week) training program. Data were analyzed with T-test. MDA, SOD and physical fitness (muscle strength, flexibility, flexion, extension, adduction, and abduction) were evaluated before and after the Tai Chi program in both groups. There were significant improvements in shoulder flexibility, flexion, extension, abduction, and adduction. However, there was no improvement in muscle strength. There were also significant improvements in MDA and SOD. Based on these results, Tai Chi exercise has been shown to stimulate endogenous antioxidant enzymes and reduce oxidative damage markers. and also be effective in improving physical fitness and QOL. Further study is needed in this area.

  • The authors examined the response of electrocardiogram(ECG) of Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus [Linnaeus] to light stimuli. The experiments were performed in such a way that three levels of light stimuli(10, 100 and 400 lu$\chi$) were given to fishes with an electrode inserted into their bodies and then their ECGs were recorded continuously for 60 minutes in 16~18$^{\circ}C$. The results which are divided into by day and by night and then analyzed by fishes' conditions are as follows; 1. Nile tilapias reached a stable condition 3 minutes after anesthesia. In stable condition, the heart rate average was 47.6beat/min by day and 45.1beat/min by night. And the action potential average was 1.0.4$mutextrm{V}$ by day and 1.24$mutextrm{V}$ by night. 2. The heart rate average by three levels of light stimuli was, \circled1 In stimulus condition, in case of 10 lu$\chi$ 39.7beat/min by day and 38.2beat/min by night, in case of 100 lu $\chi$8.7beat/min by day and 36.9beat/min by night, and in case of 40.0. lux 36.8 beat/min by day and 35.8beat/min by night. \circled2 In recovery condition, in case of 10 lu$\chi$ 47.1beat/min by day and 46.0beat/min by night, in case of 100 lu$\chi$ 47.2beat/min by day and 45.6 beat/min by night, and in case of 400 lu$\chi$ 48.1beat/min by day and 46.6beat/min by night. 3. • The chi-square type test statistic is the most commonly used test in terms of measuring testing goodness-of-fit for multinomial logistic regression model, which has its grouped data (binomial data) and ungrouped (binary) data classified by a covariate pattern. Chi-square type statistic is not a satisfactory gauge, however, because the ungrouped Pearson chi-square statistic does not adhere well to the chi-square statistic and the ungrouped Pearson chi-square statistic is also not a satisfactory form of measurement in itself. Currently, goodness-of-fit in the ordinal setting is often assessed using the Pearson chi-square statistic and deviance tests. These tests involve creating a contingency table in which rows consist of all possible cross-classifications of the model covariates, and columns consist of the levels of the ordinal response. I examined goodness-of-fit tests for a proportional odds logistic regression model-the most commonly used regression model for an ordinal response variable. Using a simulation study, I investigated the distribution and power properties of this test and compared these with those of three other goodness-of-fit tests. The new test had lower power than the existing tests; however, it was able to detect a greater number of the different types of lack of fit considered in this study. I illustrated the ability of the tests to detect lack of fit using a study of aftercare decisions for psychiatrically hospitalized adolescents.

  • EPMA and XPS on $Bi_2Sr_2-\chi_LCa_1+\chi_LCu_2O_{8+d}$($\chi_L$ = 0.01, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6) films by LPE method were performed in order to investigate Sr and Ca distributions in SrO- and Ca-layers. It is found that $T_C^{zero}$ carrier concentration and lattice parameter c monotonically decreases with increasing $\chi_L$. Sr and Ca contents in Ca-layer change in proportion to that in melt. On the other hand, in SrO-layer, Ca content strongly depends on Sr content in that layer and not on Ca content in melt. Since deficiency in SrO-layer increases and $T_C^{zero}$ creases with $\chi_L$,t is found that the deficiencies of Sr and Ca atoms in the SrO-layer has a influence on reducing $T_C^{zero}$.
