This study proposes design factors for Korean style ecological apartment for application in Cheongju. Library and internal surveys were performed to summarize the concept of locality in housing and to determine the present condition of apartment estates which were introduced with design factors according to locality, traditionalism, or ecology, fold surveys were carried out at 10 apartment estates to investigate the present condition of management and residents's un. The interviewees were concierges and representative residents. The following design factors for Korean style ecological apartment to be applied in Cheongju were proposed; layout and building shape according to climate as natural environment, landscape factors according to cultural assets as human environment, adolescent spaces according to population as social environment, road plan according to 'Cheongju Garosu-Gil' civil environment.

Arteriovenous fistula of the scalp is relatively rare disease. We report a traumatic arteriovenous fistula of the scalp treated with complete surgical excision and review the literature with regard to etiology, pathogenesis, and management of these unusual lesions.

Most posttraumatic cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage is noticed by the patients with the first symptom, rhinorrhea. A 38-year-old woman presented with frequent clear continuous rhinorrhea and otorrhea for 5 years after basilar skull fracture. After this, meningitis was developed with subsequent CSF fistula. Her clinical symptom was improved by medical treatment. The dural defect and CSF leakage were not detected by computerized tomography (CT) cistemography. We report a rare case of persistent posttraumatic CSF fistula that continued for five years.

The contents of amino acid in alcoholic beverage-Cheongju, Beer, Makguli, grapewine were analyzed. Cheongju and Makguli were filtered with membrane filter paper. Beer and grapewine were also filtered after treatment with 5-Sulfosalicylic acid. Sample were analyzed by Amino Acid Analyzer (Hitach KLA-5). The results were as follow: 1. The kinds of Amino Acid in Cheongju were 18, those of Beer were 17, Makguli 15, and grape wine 10. 2. The total amino acid in Cheongju was 54.0295 mg, Beer was 16.7172mg, Makguli was 12.3833 mg and grape wine was 4.1480 mg in 100 ml volume.

In an attempt to determine the prevalence of pinworm infection, the egg positive rate of Enterobius vermicularis was examined using the adhesive cello-tape anal swab method in 1,512 preschool children sampled from a total of 20 kindergartens in Cheongju city, in November to December of 2004 (951 children from 13 kindergartens) and September to October of 2005 (561 from 7 kindergartens). The overall egg positive rate was found to be 7.9% (119/1,512); 9.3% (73/784) for boys and 6.3% (46/728) for girls, respectively. The 5-year age group evidenced the highest egg positive rate (10.9%, 47/430) among the examined age groups. As compared to those reported from previous works (ranged from 9.2 to 26.1 %), the prevalence of E. vermicularis in the Cheongju city area is relatively low.

A kind of image analysis system is used to investigate the structural features of the traditional handmade papers made from Kenaf and Abutilon. The screen mark on the paper was identified and analyzed. The dusts, shives and fiber bundles were manifested and calculated. The relationship between basis weight of the traditional paper and mean gray level of the image was discussed in detail. Some methods to express the formation of traditional handmade paper were studied.

Thin film transistor (TFT) with silicon indium zinc oxide (SIZO) was fabricated by solution process, and the effect of annealling temperature on the electrical performance has been explored. The performance of SIZO TFT exhibited saturation mobility of $1.37cm^2$/Vs, a threshold voltage of -7.2 V, and an on-off ratio of $1.1{\times}10^5$.

최근 고효율 전력변환을 위해 LLC 공진형 하프브릿지 컨버터의 동기정류기에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 기존 일반적인 다이오드 정류기를 사용하는 경우 출력전류에 비례하는 전력손실이 커서 대전력용으로 사용하기에는 적합하지 않다. 따라서 스위치를 이용한 동기정류기가 검토되고 있는데 동기정류기의 스위치를 구동시키기 위해서는 스위치를 구동시킬 수 있는 구동용 IC가 이용되고 있다. 동기정류기 구동 IC의 단점으로는 약 50%의 중부하 이하에서는 동작되지 않는 단점이 있어 이를 보완하기 위하여 변압기 1차측 전류를 검출하여 게이트 전압을 만들어 스위치를 구동시키는 회로를 제안하였다. 본 논문의 실험 결과 저전력 지점에서 동기정류기가 구동되었고 따라서 전력변환 효율은 기존의 다이오드 정류기에 비해 우수하며 효율개선효과가 있다는 것을 실험으로 보였다.

Dermoid cysts are benign neoplasm that is derived from both ectoderm and mesoderm. They may be found at various sites of the body, but are extremely rare to occur in the lower neck. We present the case of a 22-year old woman with a midline cystic mass anterior to the cervical trachea. The mass was excised under local anesthesia. Histopathologically the diagnosis was confirmed as a dermoid cyst.

The bonding structure of organic materials such as fluorinated amorphous carbon films was classified into two types due to the chemical shifts. The electrical properties of fluorinated amorphous carbon films also showed very different effect of two types notwithstanding a very little difference. Fluorinated amorphous carbon films with the cross-link break-age structure existed large leakage current resulting from effect of the electron tunneling. Increasing the cation due to the electron-deficient group increased the barrier height of the films with the cross-link amorphous structure, therefore the electric characteristic of the final materials with low dielectric constant was also improved. The lowest dielectric constant is 2.3 at the sample with the cross-link amorphous structure.
