Electrolyzed reduced water was known as an alkaline solvent than piped water, natural water and mineral water etc. By means of reduction property, electrolyzed reduced water could dissolve a solute than other kinds of water without chemicals. In this study, serpentine dissolution in electrolyzed reduced water was investigated as a novel pre-treatment of serpentine which was a minerals for carbon dioxide sequestration. The elements (Ca, Si, Mg etc.) of serpentine were dissolved rapidly at early in the dissolvation then after some minutes the solubilities of serpentine elements showed stable state without abrupt changes. In spite of serpentine elements dissolution, chemical bondings and crystallographic structure of serpentine were not changed. It was explained that the dissolution mechanism of serpentine occurred from surface in electrolyzed reduced water and bulk structure sustained without collapse.

We investigated the leaching of elements from anthracite ashes by interactions with seawater. The results show that consumption rates of dissolved oxygen are 7.5 times greater in the seawater system than in the fresh water system and indicate that the differences in DO consumption rate may plat a role in regulating the element leaching from the coal ashes. It is revealed that seawater's pH buffering capacity is the most important factor that makes the leaching of elements and their chemical behaviors in the seawater system different from those in the fresh water environments. In overall, element leaching from the weathered ash is smaller than that from the fresh ash. However, the leaching of Si, Fe, Al, Mn, phosphate, and some other elements were independent of weathering. They were dependant only on the pH of the solutions.

Chemical plants with high-technological equipments and complex processes are continually increasing potential hazards that may result in huge industrial accidents. If an incident breaks out, it will have a hazardous effect on in-plant workers, neighboring inhabitants or the surrounding environment. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a safety management system that can pre-evaluate the safety and reduce the risk of a chemical plants. The safety management evaluation program developed in this study can implement an effective loss control management in chemical plants. It integrates important lists in safety management lists and legal measures to analyze elements systematically. It also includes incident case analysis and the required components in domestic laws.
This research utilized the Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy(EDS) and the Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry in the analysis of chemical elements present among the textiles exhumed from Kupori Hwasung-kun Kyunggi-do. The two research objectives were: first to examine the elements present and their percent presence in Kupori samples: second to investigate whether the elements are part of mordant substances which could have been used when dyeing the KUpori textiles in the past. To meet such research purposes standard silk fabric was dyed with Sophorajaponica using alum and iron mordants. For alum mordant unpurified general alum and potassium aluminum sulfate(AlK(SO4)2). iron sulfate(FeSO4·7H2O) were used, From the results of EDS and ICP-Mass analysis the following conclusions were drawn. 1 According to the EDS analysis 9 elements Ca, S, Al, Si, K, Fe, P, Mg and Na were detected. 2. ICP-Mass result of the mordant chemicas showed high amount of A, Al and k present in alum mordants and S and Fe present in iron mordants. 3. Comparison of the ICP-Mass results of the mordant chemicals and those of the standard dyed samples suggested that the amount presence of Al and Fe is a strong indication of the usage of alum and iron mordants respecticely in an unknown dyed textile. 4, In the washed Kupori textiles Fe showed a relatively higher rate of presence in the samples Therefore it can be conjectured that those Kupori textiles were dyed with iron mordant based on the result of the above number 3. 5. It is probable that the other elements detected from the Kupori samples were incorporated into the textiles as part of the soil debris produced from the degradation of the dead within the coffin or the earth debris. They can also be part of the inorganic compounds inherent in the silk textiles themselves before dyed. 6. Among the elements it is likely that Ca which showed a high degree of presence among the unwashed samples was part of the inorganic compound inferent in the silk textiles.

At the previous papers, we showed that ${K_2}O$-CaO-${P_2}{O_5}$ glasses had a solubility in air so that they could be used for glass fertilizer. In this work, we fabricated the Eco-glass fertilizer containing trace elements of B, Mg, Zn, Fe, Cu, Co, Mo, the needed micronutrients for plants to grow, by a melt-quenching process. The dissolution properties in these glasses were investigated with a pH meter and an ICP analyzer. The trace elements doped glasses showed similar behavior in dissolutions and stability properties with the mother glass without containing trace elements. In addition, the dissolution amount of each trace elements depends on the mother glass composition and the quantity of each trace elements, which determine the dissolving velocity of chemical elements.
A characteristic mineralogical zonal distribuion is observed in a large scale(whole ore- body) small scales(handy specimens). They show similar chemical variations: most of elements except CaO were supplied by hydrothermal fluids to form skarns. Garnets occuring in the pyroxene-garnet skarn have a wide range of chemical composition ranging from andradite to grossularite, while individual grains of the garnets also show a similar zonation of chemical composition varied between grossularite and andradite. Highly contained Mo-bearing scheelites are generally concentrated in the central part of the Sang- dong skarn orebody. Similarly, some large grains of scheelite show a nice zonation due to different contents of Mo, highly enriched in the core of the scheelite crystal. This geochemical similarity in the large scale and small scales suggests the Sangdong skarn formation was achieved under a certain chemical environment, and detailed studies on a small scale texture could be a clue to understand a whole ore deposit.
Many researches were focused on the data which obtained from chemical bulk analysis. It is difficult to evaluate source contribution by wet type chemical bulk analysis. In this study, we have reviewed the characterization of individual particle for source identification. We analyzed by SEM/EDX methods. We have obtained average geometric particle diameter measured by optical diameter which were resulted from SEM/EDX image scan, representative physical diameter of individual particle was $3.38\;{\mu}m\;in\;A,\;3.67\;{\mu}m\;in\;B$. In the result of image analysis at each spots particles, both samples non-sphere shapes, C-rich particles. In consequence of chemical analysis of individual particle, each sampling sites some elements.

Chemical facility system have dangerous elements that can injure the human like an explosion and a fire, gas poisoning by a leakage of the harmful chemical material. In addition to a vibration of the machine occurs the leakage. Therefore, the chemical factory requires for periodic monitoring of the vibration. But, until now, the operator has executed a monitoring of the machine by the senses. So, the diagnostic expert system by which the operator can judge easily and expertly a condition of the machine is developed. This paper describes the structure of diagnostic system and the diagnostic algorithm using fuzzy inference
Effect of alloy elements on joinability of insert metal for liquid phase diffusion bonding of heat resistant alloys was investigated in this study. Also, optimum chemical composition of insert metal was explained using interpolation method. The insert metals utilized was commercial Ni-base amorphous foils and newly developed Ni-base filler metals with B, Si and Cr in this study. Melting point and critical interlayer width(CIW) decreased with increasing additional amount of B, Si and Cr, melting point lowering element of the insert metal. Optimized chemical composition of insert metals could be estimated by interpolation method. The optimum amount of B, Si, Cr addition into the insert metal were found to be about 3%, 4% and 3%, respectively. The measured characteristic values, melting point, microhardness in the bonded interlayer and CIW of the insert metals were the almost identical to ones of the calculated results by interpolation method.
Fine ceramic particles of zirconia toughened alumina (ZTA), titania toughened alumina (TTA), and zirconia-titania toughened alumina (ZTTA) have been synthesized by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis (USP) at various temperatures from starting salt solutio ns of various compositions aiming for the development of catalytic material. These particles were characterized for properties such as shape, size and size distribution, diffraction pattern, and chemical and phase composition of elements by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), particle size analyzer (PSA), x-ray diffraction (XRD), and inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES). Chemical compositions and sizes of ceramic composites have been controled by the stoichiometry of salt solutions and the flow rate of spraying solutions. The optimum experimental conditions for the various composite particle syntheses have been proposed.
