Characteistics of Charge Traps and Poling Behavior of Poly (Vinylidene Fluoride)

  • Transient charging and discharging currents as well as space charge limited currents have been measured in biaxially stretched poly(vinylidene fluoride) film under various poling fields and temperatures. At low temperatures and short poling times, the I-V characteristics showed shallow trap behavior. When the current values extrapolated to the infinite time, the I-V characteristics indicate that the distribution of the trap energy levels is uniform or very broad. The abnormal suppression of current at higher poling voltages and the high discharge rate observed also in the same voltage range are attributed to the morphological changes due to dipole reorientation.

  • Based on the problems of untimely Expressway fire rescue and backward traditional fire rescue methods, an emergency fire fighting and inspection robot riding on expressway guardrail is designed. The overall mechanical structure design of emergency fire fighting and inspection robot riding on expressway guardrail is completed by using three-dimensional design software. The target fire detection is realized by using the target detection algorithm of Yolov5; By selecting a variety of sensors and using the control method of multi algorithm fusion, the basic function of robot on duty early warning is realized, and it has the ability of intelligent fire extinguishing. The BMS battery charging and discharging system is used to detect the real-time power of the robot. The design of the expressway emergency fire fighting and inspection robot provides a new technical means for the development of emergency fire fighting equipment, and improves the reliability and efficiency of expressway emergency fire fighting.

  • As ESS safety issues increase recently, there is a need to more precisely monitor the temperature of the ESS. In this paper, DTS technology for temperature monitoring of ESS batteries is introduced and the temperature measurement principle is explained. The temperature of the battery module is measured using the DTS system, and the thermal deviation between battery cells inside the battery module is analyzed. In order to analyze how thermal imbalance affects the charging and discharging performance of the battery, an accelerated degradation test was conducted. Cycle life characteristics analysis, battery surface temperature change, and AC impedance characteristics were conducted to analyze how the performance of battery cells differs according to temperature conditions.

  • In this paper, The stress induced leakage currents of thin silicon oxides is investigated in the nano scale structure implementation for Soc. The stress and transient currents associated with the on and off time of applied voltage were used to measure the distribution of high voltage stress induced traps in thin silicon oxide films. The stress and transient currents were due to the charging and discharging of traps generated by high stress voltage in the silicon oxides. The channel current for the thickness dependence of stress current, transient current, and stress induced leakage currents has been measured in oxides with thicknesses between $41\square\;and\;113.4\square,$ which have the channel width x length 10x1um, respectively. The stress induced leakage currents will affect data retention and the stress current, transient current is used to estimate to fundamental limitations on oxide thicknesses. The weight value of synapse transistor was caused by the bias conditions. Excitatory state and inhitory state according to weighted values affected the channel current. The stress induced leakage currents affected excitatory state and inhitory state.

Data-Driven Approach for Lithium-Ion Battery Remaining Useful Life Prediction: A Literature Review

  • Nowadays, lithium-ion battery has become more popular around the world. Knowing when batteries reach their end of life (EOL) is crucial. Accurately predicting the remaining useful life (RUL) of lithium-ion batteries is needed for battery health management systems and to avoid unexpected accidents. It gives information about the battery status and when we should replace the battery. With the rapid growth of machine learning and deep learning, data-driven approaches are proposed to address this problem. Extracting aging information from battery charge/discharge records, including voltage, current, and temperature, can determine the battery state and predict battery RUL. In this work, we first outlined the charging and discharging processes of lithium-ion batteries. We then summarize the proposed techniques and achievements in all published data-driven RUL prediction studies. From that, we give a discussion about the accomplishments and remaining works with the corresponding challenges in order to provide a direction for further research in this area.

  • In the Eco-Friendly Ship Act, the shaft generator is an equipment for eco-friendly ships. However, in order to apply the new technology in ships, high reliability is required, and the HILS (hardware in loop system) test is used as a verification method for this. Therefore, in this paper, a shaft generator is modeled and simulated for HILS test of a tugboat to which a shaft generator is applied. Through simulation, it was verified that the charging/discharging of the shaft generator operates according to the scenario.

  • 본 논문은 0V에서 100V까지 매우 높은 승·강압비를 갖는 양방향 DC-DC 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 2-Stage 구조로 SRC(Series Resonant Converter)와 DBC(Differential Buck Converter)로 구성된다. 제안하는 컨버터의 출력 전압은 두 개의 각 벅 컨버터 출력 전압의 전위차로 결정되기 때문에 0V에서도 높은 전압으로 승압이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 제안하는 컨버터의 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 15kW급 시작품을 제작하였고 96.27%의 최고효율을 달성하였다.

  • This paper addresses the enhancement of long-endurance solar-powered aircraft through the integration of a rechargeable battery and Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) controller. Traditional long-endurance aircraft often rely on non-renewable energy sourcessuch as batteries orjetfuel, contributing to carbon emissions. The proposed system aims to mitigate these environmental impacts by harnessing solar energy and efficiently managing its storage and utilization. The MPPT controller optimizes the power output of photovoltaic cells, enabling simultaneous charging and discharging of the battery for propulsion and servo control. A prototype is presented to illustrate the practical implementation and functionality of the proposed design, marking a promising step towards more sustainable and enduring solar-powered flight.

Design of the Capacitor Discharge Ignition System (용량방전점화장치의 설계)

  • An analytical and experimental design procedure is described for the Capacitor Discharge Ignition (CDI) System with a view to fuel saving ann reduction of gas exhaustion and maintenance need. Specifically, the input and output voltage and current of a given ignition coil were calculated by using a simplified circuit model for the discharging system. The results were compared with the experimental results, from which ratings of the charging capacitor, the SCR and the diodes and the required output valtage of the DC.DC converter were determined so as to satisfy the optimum ignition conditions. Protection circuits for excessive dv/dt and di/dt for the SCR were also analyzed and the results were compared with the observed results, which facilitate selection of the SCR and design of the protection circuit and the trigger circuit. Also, design of the DC.DC converter was simplified based on the analysis and experimental results of the behavior of the converter, An experimental, yet practical CDI system was built, which showed satisfactory performance in the laboratory and field tests. The results were also reported.

Development of Battery Management System for Electric Vehicle Applications of Ni/MH Battery

  • Electric vehicle performance is very dependent on traction batteries. For developing the electric vehicles with high performance and good reliability, the traction batteries have to be managed to get maximum performance under various operating conditions. The enhancement of the battery performance can be accomplished by implementing battery management system (BMS) that plays important roles of optimizing the control mechanism of charge and discharge of the batteries as well as monitoring battery status. In this study the battery management system has been developed for maximizing the use of Ni/MH batteries in electric vehicle. This system provides several tasks: the control of charging and discharging, overcharge and over-discharge protection, the calculation and display of state of charge, safety and thermal management. The BMS was installed in and tested using the DEV5-5 electric vehicle developed by Daewoo Motor Co. and Institute for Advanced Engineering in Korea. The 18 modules of Panasonic Ni/MH battery, 12 V-95 Ah, were used in the DEV5-5. The high accuracy within the range of $3\%$ and the good reliability were shown in the test results. The BMS can also improve the performance and cycle life of Ni/MH battery pack as well as the reliability and safety of the electric vehicles (EV).
