피리딘류와 요오드사이의 전하이동착물생성에 관한 열역학적 연구 (The Thermodynamics of the Formation of Pyridines-Iodine Charge Transfer Complexes)

  • 피리딘, ${\beta}$-피코린 및 3,5-루티딘과 요오드사이에 형성되는 전하이동착물을 사염화탄소 용액에서 자외선분광광도법을 사용하여 연구한 결과 $C_5H_5N{\cdot}I_2$, ${\beta}-C_5H_4(CH_3)N{\cdot}I_2$ 및 3,5-$C_5H_3(CH_3)_2N{\cdot}I_2$ 형의 1:1 분자착물이 형성됨을 알았다. 이들 착물생성에 대한 흡수최대는 온도가 상승함에 따라 blue shift되므로 이를 고려하여 각 온도에서의 평형상수를 구했다. 이 값으로부터 이들 착물생성에 대한 ${\Delta}H$, ${\Delta}G$${\Delta}S$ 이 열역학적 파라미터를 산출하였다. 이 결과 착물의 상대적 안정도가 다음 순서로 증가함을 알수가 있었다. Pyridine < ${\beta}$-Picoline < 3,5-Lutidine. 이러한 결과는 dipole moment, steric hindrance effect 및 positive inductive effect에 의한 electron density의 증가 때문인 것으로 설명할 수 있었다. 그리고 polymethylbenzene-iodine CT-complex와도 비교 검토하였다.

농업혁신도시의 표준 프레임워크 도출에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Planning of Agropolis Framework)

  • The sustainable development of local communities is faced with limitation due to poor infrastructure and lack of cooperation among stake-holders. To overcome such circumstances and thus to ensure balanced development of the local communities, the central government is driving construction of innovative cities mainly through transfer of public institutions to local cities. In this study, to contribute to the development of plans for the future agropolis' associated with the transfer of public institutions, efficient organization mechanisms of the agropolis such as basic structure and spatial allocation was examined through analyses of advanced cases(Sophia Antipolis, St. Hyacinthe Science Part Food Valley, Stoneleigh Park) of foreign countries. The analyses showed that the organization of agropolis were consisted of three main components; 1) agricultural and food industry complex conducting R&D, 2) service facilities(information, trade, consulting and advertisement) supporting agricultural and food industries and rural enterprise center in charge of a variety of events including exhibition, rural experience, education, and contest, 3) silver facilities such as hospital and town providing medical service and residence. Based on the results, inventories of facilities which are necessary in 'the future agropolis' and their spatial allocation were suggested.

Synthesis, Characterizations, and Intramolecular Quenching Behavior of an Axially-Linked Trinuclear Molecular Wire Containing Ruthenium(II) Porphycenes

  • A new trinuclear complex $[Ru(TPrPc)(CO)]_2[Ru(pytpy)_2](PF_6)_2$ (TPrPc = 2,7,12,17-tetra-n-propylporphycenato dianion and pytpy = 4'-(4-pyridyl)-2,2':6',2"-terpyridine) has been synthesized and characterized as the first example of a discrete molecular wire containing metalloporohycenes as a building block. The trinuclear complex shows multiple-step redox behavior in 0.1 M n-$Bu_4NPF_6$-dichloromethane. The mononuclear $[Ru(pytpy)_2]^{2+}$ precursor shows emission at 640 nm (deaerated acetone, 298 K) upon illumination at the metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) band at 495 nm, but the trinuclear molecular wire is found to be non-emissive upon photoexcitation at the central $[Ru(pytpy)_2]^{2+}$ entity, indicating an efficient quenching ability of the axially-linked, ruthenium(II)-porphycene chromophores in an intramolecular fashion.

  • Carbon nanotube(CNT) has been spotlighted as a promising candidate for catalyst support material for PEMFC (proton exchange membrane fuel cell). The considerable properties of CNT include high surface area, outstanding thermal, electrical conductivity and mechanical stability. In this study, to fully utilize the properties of CNTs, we prepared directly oriented CNT on carbon paper as a catalyst support in the cathode electrode. The CNT layer was prepared by a chemical vapor deposition(CVD) process. And the Pt particles were deposited on the CNT oriented carbon paper by impregnation and eletro-deposition method. The potential advantages of directly oriented CNT on carbon paper can include improved thermal and charge transfer through direct contact between the electrolyte and the electrode and enhanced exposure of Pt catalyst sites during the reaction.

  • Henri-Michaelis-Menten model for predicting the behavior of culture of Brevibacterium flavum under carbon limiting condition has been evaluated on a chemostat growing in the presence of the phenol derivatives: guaiacol, o-vanillin and vanillin. It is found that Henri-Michaelis-Menten model could be applicable to the evaluation of the growth rate of cells in the phenol derivatives. The marked enhancing abilities of the cells treated by the phenol derivatives during fermentation were ascribed to the formation of charge-transfer complex between the phenol-derivatives and oxygen which supplies oxygen effectively to the fermentation system.

Low driving voltage and high stability organic light-emitting diodes with rhenium oxide-doped hole transporting layer

  • We demonstrate fluorescent green organic lightemitting diodes employing a rhenium oxide ($ReO_3$)-doped N,N-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(1,1'-biphenyl)-4,4'-diamine (NPB) hole transporting layer (HTL). The devices exhibit significantly reduced driving voltages as well as prolonged lifetime. Details of $ReO_3$ doping effects are described in terms of charge transfer complex and stabilization of HTL morphology.

High performance top-emitting OLEDs with copper iodide-doped hole injection layer

  • Efficient top-emitting organic light-emitting diodes were fabricated using copper iodide (CuI) doped NPB as a p-doped hole injection layer to improve hole injection from a silver bottom electrode. The enhanced hole injection is originated from the formation of the charge transfer complex between CuI and NPB. The devices result in high efficiency of 69 cd/A with almost Lambertian emission pattern.

  • $[MoO(NCS)_5]^{2-}$의 벤조일피리딘늄 및 루티딘늄을 합성한 후 전기전도도, 자기모멘트, 가시 및 적외선스펙트라등에 이하여 이들의 구조를 조사하였다. 옥소오이소티오시아나토몰리브덴(Ⅴ)의 벤조일피리딘늄 및 루티딘늄염에서 티오시아나토의 질소가 몰리브덴과 결합되었으며 벤조일피리딘과 루티딘은 리간드가 아닌 양이온으로 존재함을 확인하였다. 이들 착물은 d-d전이와 전하이동전이가 일어 났으며 착물의 자기모멘트는 ${mu}_{spin-only}$ 값과 거의 같았다.

Solvent Effect on the Dynamics of Radical Ion Pair Separation

  • Picosecond absorption spectroscopy has been employed in the study of the solvent dynamics of 1, 2, 4, 5-tetracyanobenzene/biphenyl derivative radical ion pairs, and the resulting rates of radical ion pair separation are faster in acetonitrile than in dichloromethane. In an effort to account quantitatively for such solvent effect on the rate of radical ion pair separation, an equation for the rate of radical ion pair separation is introduced, in which the rate depends exponentially on the electrostatic interaction energy in the radical ion pair. In our analysis of the types of electrostatic interaction energy based on the conducting spheres in dielectric continuum was chosen, and the rate equation employing this electrostatic energy provided information on the distance on the distance of radical ion pair separation and solvation energy of the radical ion pair, thereby providing quantitative explanation for the observed solvent effect on the rate of radical ion pair sepaaration.

  • Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) 법은 미래의 분자전자소자를 위한 가장 유력한 수단이며, 이러한 분자박막 소자는 그 성질이 분자는 배향에 영향을 박데 되므로 현재 새로운 물질을 이용하여 분자전자소자의 제작에 있어 관심을 모으고 있다. 본 연구에서는 (N-docosyl quinolinium)-TCNQ(1:2) 전하 이동 착물 LB 막의 분자 배향을 UV/vis 편광흡수 스펙트럼과 FT-IR transmission 및 reflection-absorption 스펙트럼의 흡수강도를 비교하여 정량적으로 평가하였다. 그 결과 TCNQ의 transition dipole moment의 각은 약 56~58。 였으며, 알킬 고리의 경사각은 약 11.1~13。였다. 제작된 Z-형 LB 막의 표면은 고압에서 중앙 높이 차가 3~4$\AA$으로 평탄하였다.
