This study is intended to observe the meaning, aesthetic formative characteristics of the human body which is introduced and applied to the fashion design. The analysis of the modern fashion design describing the human body refers to the extracted fashion design which expresses the human body appearing in domestic & foreign fashion magazines as well as publications associated with it and published since 1990. The analysis of the way of expression, the image and the design elements in these fashion design works, has had to formative characteristics in each of the three parts. The pursuit of formative characteristics through simplifying the expression of the human body, uprising of anatomical expression, and metaphorical expression with the help of personification and objectification can be thought of as characteristics of expressing pattern. And the op-art, optical illusion by virtue of pointillism, the use of non-woven molding, and action painting technique can be described as expression tools to recognize the human body. Images are presented in the characteristics of being grotesque, humorous, erotic, futuristic and mysterious. The characteristics of designs are expressed in creative detail, trimming, pattern and accessory using the form of human body itself as an item of clothing tends to show the unity of human body and clothing. The human body in the modern era reflects the post human image as well as its meaning as a medium and tool. It is also perceived as a specific object to be self-conscious of in this reality with the loss of humanity, alienation and the confusion of identity. The analysis of the image and way of expression of human body in the fashion design, and the meaning of human body will play an important role of identifying tole viewpoint about human body as well as prospecting what the human being will be in the future.

본 논문은 성덕대왕 신종과 인체의 진동 특성의 상관관계를 분석함으로서 진동 특징 추출의 새로운 방안을 도출하기 위한 연구이다. 신종의 종, 움통, 울림통과 기타 비대칭적 요소들을 인체의 몸체, 성도, 횡경막과 인체구조의 비대칭적 요소들에 대비시켜 각각의 음향 특성들을 실험을 통하여 비교 분석하였다. 실험결과, 대비시킨 각 요소들의 음향 특성이 매우 흡사하여, 신종의 소리 특성에 관한 정보가 인체의 진동 전달 특성을 분석하는 데 있어서도 매우 유용하게 적용될 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다.

This study has its purpose in classifying the ways in which transparent materials appear in clothes creating a sample garment on this basis, and studying the formative characteristics of human body expression through materials. The study methods for this study are: first, related documents and precedent theses were researched. Second, the expression methods of transparent materials shown in the clothes collection were classified through objective research. Transparent refers to the lexical definition of being see-through, and the transparency of materials arises from the chemical components and physical characteristics of its raw materials. Transparent materials have been applied to clothes and expressed in diverse ways, revealing the beauty of the human body. Such expression methods of transparent materials are classified by the 'degree of transparency', 'presence of patterns', and 'range of use'. In clothes, transparent materials are depicted through 'revealing' which exposes the body, 'making seemingly lighter' which makes the body livelier, and 'overlapping' which overlaps the body with the structure and patterns of the material. Furthermore, transparent materials express the human body through having the beholder 'peep' into other parts of the body, 'imagine' areas which are covered by looking at the areas which are exposed, and through 'blurring' the boundaries or the shape of the human body, depending on the degree of transparency. As such, the study of the expression methods of transparent materials and human expression has its importance in that it explores the expression methods of materials and formative characteristics of human body expression through these methods.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the types of aesthetic characteristics and their expression methods in the goth style expressed with the sensibility of an illustrator, using the work of Toon Hertz as an example. As a research method for this purpose, previous studies and books were used to examine the components of fashion illustration, the concept and aesthetic characteristics of goth style, and the world of Toon Hertz's work. In the qualitative studies, Toon Hertz's works were collected and the characteristics of each component were analyzed. As a result of analyzing the aesthetic characteristics, Distortion appeared as the main element of the human body, and the human body was distorted through the method of combining the human body with animals, plants, and other objects. History was mainly expressed through fashion elements. Victorian clothing was predominant, the color was mainly black, and it was characterized by decorations, such as fancy laces, corsets, and shirrings. The screen layout and the object components appeared as the main components of mystery. Sensuality was a major component of the human body, and it emphasized decadent and sensual images of a woman sitting with both legs apart or placing her hands on her legs or chest. Fear was the main component of the human body, and strangeness and fear were created by omitting or removing parts of the body, such as women's arms, legs, hands, or eyes.

Various dynamic models of seated posture human body have been developed because the importance about the ride comfort assessment of vehicles is highly emphasized from day to day. The dynamic models of human body make possible the simulation of ride comfort assessment by applied to the vehicle dynamic model. Recently, the importance of ride comfort is also regarded to working vehicles such as excavators and the research of the ride comfort assessment for working vehicle is required. Only vertical vibration dominantly occurs on the seat of the private car driving with constant velocity. In contrast, vertical/fore-and-aft/pitch vibration seriously occurs on the seat of the working excavator. So, the dynamic models of seated human body applied to working vehicles should describe the dynamic characteristics for vertical/fore-and-aft/pitch direction. In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of seated human body are represented as apparent inertia matrix. The apparent inertia matrix is obtained by the vertical/fore-and-aft/pitch excitation of seated human body. 6 resonance frequencies are observed in apparent inertia matrix. This result can be applied to develop the dynamic model for seated posture human body.

In this paper, we studied on the potential characteristics of human-body contacted the charging part. A charging part of electrical facilities and the earth are simulated by the e1ectrode pole and conductive rubber plates respectively. As the results of these follows, when the potential distribution of the human-body contacted the charging part is far from the electrode pole, a lot of currents flow through the human-body. Besides human-body non-contacted the charging part is affected by step voltage. Therefore, we could find out the causes of the electric shock accidents and be expected to the data for minimization of human error occurred the workspace.

Dynamic characteristics of seated human body were investigated by measuring apparent masses of eight different seating subjects exposed to vertical vibration. Two types of vibration signals - one is random signals over 1 to 30Hz having flat spectral density and the other is signals measured on seat rail in passenger car under driving conditions - were employed. It was found that the apparent masses are highly dependent on vibration level rather than type of the vibration signals. Based on the apparent mass measurements, a mathematical model of the human body in seating posture was developed by using genetic algorithm. Three-degree-of-freedom model was satisfactory in describing apparent mass of seated human body.

A simplified model of seat-human body is presented to analyze vibrations of human body on a seat of vehicle. The theoretical model having seven degrees-of-freedom is composed of the inter-connected masses, springs and dampers. Until now, evaluation of ride comfort has been usually performed only through vehicle tests. This study aims to complement shortcomings of conventional vehicle tests in evaluation of ride comfort by using the theoretical model. The acceleration values of the human body are obtained from frequency response functions of the theoretical model. Thereafter, Ride and SEAT indexes are acquired by considering response characteristics of the human body for the 12 axes that are presented in BS 6841. A vehicle test is carried out to measure the acceleration values for the three parts of the human body such as upper body, hip and foot. Ride and SEAT indexes of the vehicle test are also obtained by considering the response characteristics of the human body, of which results are compared with the values from the theoretical model. It is found that the theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimental results.

This study is intended to understand an implication system and significance in the current community which a body image symbolizes by correlating it with fashion that is on the rise as a principal issue in various fields. For this study, the symbolism of the body image was contemplated in terms of philosophy and art, and then on the basis of it, the symbolism of the body image shown in modern fashion design was analyzed through fashion works. The research results are as follows, 1. The manifestation of sex can be taken as the symbolism of the body image which is expressed in modern fashion design. Recently sexual chaos and vagueness such as homosexuality and bisexuality are expressed through a dress and its ornaments. Though displaying sexual characteristics of male and female as they are exposing a sign or a diagram, decorating a part of body or representing sex in garments, uncertain sex identity in modern society is manifested in dress and its ornaments. It is to deny absoluteness regarding sex and emphasize diversity indwelt in human beings, and after all it shows to pursue the human essence. 2. Another symbolism of the body image is body expression as the human race and an ethnic group. The discriminating situations and the restoration of their status appeared in modern fashion too. Moreover, their cultures and issues came to alter the aesthetic standard of body made from a view of the Western white supremacist. Hereupon, fashion trends like ethnic fashion, Orientalism and African look etc. appear according to this tendency, which represents race and national identity and in addition, which signifies to present transcendental human conception embracing alienated human conception. 3. The symbolism of the body image expressed in a body, and a dress and its ornaments as nature can be considered in terms of the concern on environmental contamination and the respect of echo system. Getting away from reigning over, developing and stamping down nature at their will, the human beings pursue unity with nature, which is described in fashion. They are stressing that natural materials and objects such as animal, plant and soil etc. should activily be introduced into fashion and humans are a communal fate group and should reframe their status in nature at last. 4. The body image shown in a body, a dress and its ornaments as technology is transformed and recreated by modern scientific techniques and medical science to show post human conception namely, forthcoming future human conception as a cyborg which loses individual identity. This presents a perfect future human conception with high level of preternatural power but after all, leaves us a task to seek the meaning of human existence in alienation caused by the loss of human identity and existence. In this manner, the moderns crave for perceiving the identity of a natural human being in the current thoughts tendency of the modern times such as postmodernism, post structuralism, deconstructionism, feminism and so on, which build discussions affecting the art and fashion worlds. The categories, like sexual characteristics indwelt in a human body, racial classifications, the natural environment surrounding human beings and development of science, bring out the importance of the internal and external meaning in today's fashion which a human body contains, and present sew human conception in the coming future society.

This study is to observe the meaning, aesthetic formative nature of the human body which has been not only a main issue and discussion object but also socially, culturally connected with clothing by contemplating it in the respect of the trend of art. Additionally, a work of contemplation about human body introduced to fashion design was analyzed to renew the meaning and value of the formative art inside the human body. The way and scope of this study is to contemplate the concept and meaning of human body, based on the documentary records such as art history and clothing history in the West society as a main theme. The results of the analysis were as follows: In the first place, the formative characteristics shown in the modem arts expressing the human body since 1990 which are cubism, futurism, metaphysical painting, dadaism, surrealism, pop art, happening, feminism, body art, and technology art are distortion, exaggeration and dismantling. Second, the aesthetic formative nature and meaning in the human body appear to be different according to the standard of ideal beauty of human body when we examine the expression of it from the aspect of art-history and the meaning of human body implied in it. Besides, human body is being used as a messenger which delivers the message of modem artist to other people. So the changed meaning of human body has affected the clothing and made it possible to manufacture and form new styles of clothing that have never been before. In conclusion, the human body in the modem era plays an important role as a brand-new formative medium of communication in the human society and contributes to the development which applies the aesthetic formative nature of the human body to fashion design.
