  • In this paper, we analyze the concept of network convergence and characteristics of Broadband convergence Network(BcN) from the service perspective where convergence would appear. We suggest the evolutionary 3 stage steps of BcN as an ideal network strategy when considering present network situation. We also propose the features of several representative services that are expected to emerge out of network convergence.

  • With the growth of BiCMOS technology in ASIC design, the issue of analyzing fault characteristics and testing techniques for BiCMOS circuits become more important In this paper, we analyze the fault models and characteristics of high speed full-swing BiCMOS circuits and the DFT technique to enhance the testability of full-swing high speed BiCMOS circuits is discussed. The SPICE simulation is used to analyze faults characteristics and to confirm the validity of DFT technique.

An Enhanced Approach for a Prediction Method of the Propagation Characteristics in Korean Environments at 781 MHz

  • In high-speed wireless communications, an analysis of the propagation characteristics is an important process. Information on the propagation characteristics suitable for each environment significantly helps in the design of mobile communications. This paper presents the analysis results of radio propagation characteristics in outdoor environments for a new mobile wireless system at 781 MHz. To avoid the interference of Korean DTV broadcasting, we measure the channel characteristics in urban, suburban, and rural areas on Jeju Island, Republic of Korea, using a channel sounder and $4{\times}4$ antenna. The path loss (PL) measurement results differ from those of existing propagation models by more than 10 dB. To analyze the frequency characteristics for Korean propagation environments, we derive various propagation characteristic parameters: PL, delay spread, angular spread, and K-factor. Finally, we verify the validity of the measurement results by comparing them with the actual measurement results and 3D ray-tracing simulation results.

스마트폰 애플리케이션 서비스의 기술-서비스 융합 양상 분석 (Analyzing Technology-Service Convergence Using Smartphone Application Services)

  • Recently, the emergence of smartphone foster the technological convergence. This convergence no longer takes place within technologies only. Rather, convergence phenomena happen as a form of embodied services. However, previous research on convergence has been subject to the technology-oriented studies, including suggesting patent-based indexes or analyzing technological characteristics. However, investigating technology-service convergence is critical since most of new smart services are technology-based convergence services. Therefore, we analyze the pattern of technology-service convergence which occurs in the smartphone application services. We divided the smatphone application services into four categories, and employ a network analysis to represent the convergence phenomena of each category. Our study is expected to provide meaningful implication in new service development practice.

융복합 사회에서 장애여성 안전의 설명요인에 대한 연구 (The Study on the Explanatory Factors of the Disabled Women's Safety in the Convergence Society)

  • 본 연구는 전국의 장애여성 374명을 조사대상자로 하여 융복합 사회에서의 장애여성의 안전에 대한 설명요인을 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 안전을 '사고로부터 안전'과 '범죄로부터 안전'으로 구분한 후, 개인, 가족, 지역사회 요인들이 장애여성이 경험하고 있는 안전을 어떻게 설명하는지 분석하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 장애여성이 경험하는 '사고로부터 안전'에 대한 설명력이 가장 큰 요인은 지역사회 영역으로 지역 유형과 사회적 자본 수준, 물질적 곤궁, 장애정도가 유의하게 영향을 미치는 요소로 나타났다. 다음으로는 가족 영역의 물질적 곤궁과 개인 영역의 장애수준이 장애여성의 사고로부터 안전을 설명하는 요인으로 분석되었다. 2) 장애여성의 '범죄로부터 안전'에 대한 설명력이 가장 큰 요인은 가족 영역의 물질적 곤궁이었고, 지역사회 영역에서는 지역사회 유형, 사회적 지지가, 개인 영역에서는 교육 수준이 장애여성의 범죄로부터 안전을 설명하는 유의한 요인으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 근거로 장애여성의 안전을 확보하기 위한 융복합적으로 실천적이고 정책적인 접근방안을 제언하였다.

계산량 감소를 위한 적응 알고리즘 및 수렴특성 분석 (An Analysis of its Convergence Characteristics and the Adaptive Algorithm for Reducing the Computational Quantities)

  • 본 논문은 적응 필터에서 소요되는 계산량을 감소시키기 위해 새롭게 제안하는 적응 알고리즘에 대하여 논하고 있다. 새로운 적응 알고리즘은 필터의 계수를 조정함에 있어서 정규화 입력신호의 크기 대신 입력신호의 부호만을 사용하는 것인데, 이렇게 함으로써 많은 계산량을 차지하는 승산과 제산 연산이 필요없게 된다. 제안한 알고리즘의 수렴특성을 분석하기 위하여 수렴조건 및 수렴속도 등을 수학적으로 유도하였다. 또한 본 알고리즘을 반향제거기에 적용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였고, 다른 알고리즘을 적용한 경우의 수렴성능과 비교하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 본 알고리즘을 적용한 반향제거기는 NLMS 알고리즘을 적용한 반향제거기와 거의 동일한 수렴성능을 나타내는 것으로 확인되었다.

특허 마이닝을 이용한 국방과학기술 연결망 연구 (A Study on Networks of Defense Science and Technology using Patent Mining)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the technology convergence and its characteristics, focusing on the defense technologies in South Korea. Methods: Patents applied by the Agency for Defense Development (ADD) during 1979~2019 were utilized in this paper. Information Entropy analysis has been conducted on the patents to analyze the usability and potential for development. To analyze the trend of technology convergence in defense technologies, Social Network Analysis(SNA) and Association Rule Mining Analysis were applied to the co-occurrence networks of International Patent Classification (IPC) codes. Results: The results show that sensor, communication, and aviation technologies played a key role in recent development of defense science and technology. The co-occurrence network analysis also showed that the convergence has gradually enhanced over time, and the convergence between different technology sectors largely emerged, showing that the convergence has been diversified. Conclusion: By analyzing the patents of the defense technologies during the last 30 years, this study presents the comprehensive perspectives on trends and characteristics of technology convergence in defense industry. The results of this study are expected to be used as a guideline for decision making in the government's R&D policies in defence industry.

수증기 유량제어에 따른 피치계 활성탄소섬유 비표면적 특성에 대한 연구 (Study on the Manufacture and Characteristics of Pitch-Based Activated Carbon Fibers Using Steam Activation)

  • To produce activated carbon fibers, the process is carried out through either physical activation method or chemical activation method. In this study, we present the results regarding the characteristics of activated carbon fibers manufactured under various conditions through the quantitative control of steam. The yield after activation indicates a decreasing trend with the increase in steam quantity and activation time. Additionally, specific surface area characteristics exhibit variations based on activation time and steam flow rate. The SEM analysis results reveal that higher steam flow rates lead to the presence of both mesopores and macropores on the surface of activated carbon fibers (ACF).

Volterra급수로 나타낸 비선형시스템 주파수응답함수의 수렴특성 (Convergence Characteristics of the Frequency Response Functions of Non-Linear Systems Expressed in Terms of the Volterra Series)

  • The frequency response functions of systems incorporating a non-linear cubic stiffness subject to sinusoidal excitation are derived using the Volterra series and the convergence characteristics investigated. It is shown that the series representation of the frequency response functions converges only when the sinewave input amplitude is within a certain range. Within the range of convergence the frequency response function based on the Volterra series approaches the analytical one as more higher order frequency response function terms are included. Proposed is a criterion for the studies systems to predict approximately the range of sinewave input amplitude for which the series representation of the frequency response functions converges.
