Influence of Cement Type on the Diffusion Characteristics of Chloride Ion in Concrete (콘크리트의 염소이온 확산특성에 미치는 시멘트 종류의 영향)

  • To predict service life of concrete structures exposed to chloride attack, surface chloride concentration, diffusion coefficient of chloride ion, and chloride corrosion threshold value in concrete, are used as important factors. of these, as the diffusion coefficient of chloride ion for concrete is strongly influenced by concrete quality and environmental conditions of structures and may significantly change the service life of structures, it is considered as the most important factor for service life prediction. The qualitative factors affecting the penetration and diffusion of chloride ion into concrete are water-binder(W/B) ratio, age, cement type and constituents, chloride ion concentration of given environment, wet and dry conditions, etc. In this paper the influence of cement type on the diffusion characteristics of chloride ion in concrete was investigated through the chloride ion diffusion test. For this purpose, the diffusion characteristics in concrete with cement type such as ordinary portland cement(OPC), binary blended cement(BBC), and ternary blended cement(TBC) were estimated for the concrete with W/B ratios of 32% and 38%, respectively. It was observed from the test that the difussion characteristics of BBC containing OPC and ground granulated blast-furnace slag was found to be most excellent of the cement type used in this study.

The Comparison of the Characteristics of Partially Purified Internal Invertase by Mating Type in the Heterobasidiomycetous Yeast (이담자 효모균의 성접합형에 따른 세포내 Invertase의 성질 비교)

  • This work was carried out to study physiological characteristics of Rhodosporidium toru[oides cells having two different mating types. The mating type A produces internal. cell wall-bound, and external invertases while type a produces only two invertases except external invertase. Comparing their characteristics after partial purification of internal invertases from both mating type cells, invertase from type a has decreased 15% of invertase activity only by $Mn^{2+}$ I while invertase from type A has been increased 11% of invertase activity by $Zn^{2+}$ and decreased 15% of invertase activity by $Mn^{2+}$ On the effect of enzyme inhibitor, invertase of type a was inhibited from 12% to 57% by 2-mercaptoethanol, sodium dodecyl sulfate, phenol. but invertase of type A was slightly inhibited only by phenol. The thermal stability of both invertases has showed steep inactivation at above $80^{\circ}C$ and their optimal temperatures were similar at $60^{\circ}C$ . Invertase from type A showed stability only on condition of acid from pH 3 to 6 and its opimal pH was 5.0, while invertase from type a showed stability at the wide range of pH 3-10 and its optimal pH was 4.0. And the $K_m$ values of invertases from type A and type a were $2.5{\times}10^3$M and$3.4{\times}10^3$M, respectively.

  • This study compared and analyzed manual tapping and automatic tapping regarding tapping process characteristics of titanium hard-to-cut-material. Tapping process characteristics of titanium hard-to-cut-material are evaluated as the quality of a screw, wear of a tap, economic analysis, and cycle time etc. The type of screw threads after manual tapping is formed as an irregular type of screw threads, and perfect screw threads are created after automatic tapping. In addition, the chip type after manual tapping process is formed as the discontinuous chip due to work hardening, and the powder type of chip after automatic tapping process is created. In terms of cycle time, an automatic tapping process is shortened by 70% compared to manual tapping process. Insert tip wear of an automatic tapping shown in the process of 5-hole tapping is not found, but hand tap wear for finish cutting is most severe.

  • The aerostatic stage. which is used in semiconductor process, is demanded higher velocity and more precise accuracy for higher productivity and integrated performance. So, in the case of XY stage, H type structure, which is designed two co-linear axis of guide-way, driving force in one surface, has advantage of velocity and accuracy compared to conventional tacked type XY stage. To analyze characteristics of H type aerostatic stage, H type aerostatic surface XY stage is made, which is driven by linear motor and detected position with precise optical linear scale. And, analyze characteristics of motion error, effect of angular motion on positioning accuracy error and effect of simultaneous control on variation of velocity.

A Study on the Characteristics of Volumetric Efficiency of an Axial Piston Pump considering Piston Tilting

  • This paper presents the characteristics of volumetric efficiency of an axial type piston pump considering the piston tilting. A numerical analysis is carried out in order to obtain the pressure distribution considering the fluid inertia at the notch of the valve plate. The cylinder pressure variation and the discharge flow rate are measured experimentally according to the operating conditions such as supply pressure, rotational speed, and viscosity of the working fluid by using the cam type test apparatus. Leakage is also measured considering piston tilting. The characteristics of the volumetric efficiency are analyzed with respect to various operating conditions and leakage is also analyzed according to the piston tilting angle. Results are applicable to improve the design of an axial type piston pump.

  • This study is to understand the characteristics of axial force behavior that operates to the part of continuous welded rail and to investigate the basic data for secure the structure's stability and retrofit of the track. To develop the FEM model that type of plate girder which is used in the domestic national railway among servicing railway type. It is to analyze the characteristics of axial force behavior according to equip of the expansion joint and support placing by using the axial force simulation in making the continuous welded rail. As the result of research on the parametric valuables through the analysis, it is investigated that 'FMFM type' is more efficient than the other support type. Also, it conclude that structures are having the expansion joint is the most safe condition.

A Study on the Spray Characteristics of Swirl Injectors Using ANSYS Fluent (ANSYS Fluent를 이용한 와류형 분사기의 분무특성 연구)

  • Numerical studies on the spray characteristics of closed-type and open-type swirl injectors were conducted using ANSYS Fluent. By changing injection pressures, discharge coefficient and spray angle were calculated using the Reynolds stress BSL turbulent model. The numerical results were compared with previous experimental data to examine their accuracy. For a closed-type swirl injector, spray angles matched well with experimental results and discharge coefficients showed approximately 8% differences. On the contrary, discharge coefficients of an open-type swirl injector were similar with experimental result but its spray angles presented around 15% differences. Though the numerical results were not perfectly consistent with experimental data, it is thought that they could be sufficiently used for analyzing spray characteristics, specially which is hard to be measured from experiments. Numerical simulation with different turbulent models was also performed to examine their effects on the numerical results.

  • This study is to analyse probability distribution characteristics of water supply demand. Two cities located near Seoul were selected as study areas. In this study, two probalility distribution types were tested using the K-S(Kolmogorov-Smirnov) method. The K-S method was used to prove the goodness of the selected distribution type. And also, the goodness of maximum day demand to average day demand ratio which was obtained by field data was tested. Conclusions are as follows. 1.Bothl normal distribution type and lognormal distribution type are appropriate as the probalility distribution type for the water supply demand. 2. The probability distribution characteristics can be used to test the goodness of the maximum day to average day demand ratio.

  • Industrial Agitators are used in various industrial fields where they are necessary to intimately mix two reactants in a short period of time. However, despite their widespread use, complex unsteady flow characteristics of industrial mixers are not systematically investigated. The present study aims for clarify unsteady flow characteristics induced by various impellers in agitator's tank. Impellers are Pitched blade turbine(PBT) types, Screw type and Rushton turbine type(RUT). In this study is numerical analysis of the Industrial agitator's Impeller types. The rotating speed of impellers fixed about 100RPM. Numerical analysis results show that differential flow characteristics of each type Impeller and Rushton turbine type(RUT) is suitable for mixing powder.

Fabrication of MIS Type GaAs Diode and Its Electrical Characteristics (GaAs를 이용한 MIS형 다이오드의 제작 및 전기적 특성)

  • The fabricatoin sequence of GaAs MIS type diode and its electrical characteristics are presented. Used wafers were undoped GaAS wafer adn Te-doped GaAs wafer. Au and AuGe/Ni was used as schottky contact metal and ohmic contact metal respectively. Oxide layer on GaAs surface was formed by water vapor saturated oxide growth technique and dry oxidation technique. In Te-doped GaAs wafer, cutin voltage of MIS type diode was enhanced about 3V comparing with non-oxide layer diode. From light I-V characteristics fill factor of MIS type Te-doped GaAs diode was about 64%, Voc(open circuit voltage) was 0.67V.
