This study suggests method of expression of nail art utilizing Salvador Dali's Paranoiac Critical Method and produced the actual works based on discussions on Salvador Dali's painting, Paranoiac Critical Method, Nail Art's artistry and technique of expression. The result of the study is as follows: 1) Characteristic of Dali's painting is a Paranoiac Critical Method. If suggesting this characteristic in a method of expression of nail art, a good work which can be expressed on a small space, a nail, representing Dali is selected and 5 tips which are very similar to the rate of the painting are used in order to obtain an aesthetic effect just like a painting. And after composing on tips using the whole paining or part of painting, actual techniques of expression such as Hand Painting, Protranse or Water Decal are used. 2) the result of nail art produced utilizing Dali's Paranoiac Critical Method is as follows. Most of all, for nail art I with the topic of "The Persistence of Memory" (1931), after giving changes to 5 tips for the watch which is a part of the painting, Hand Painting technique is used using Acrylic Painting with colors which are similar colors to the painting. Then for nail art II which adopted "Slave Market with Invisible Bust of Voltaire" (1940), the whole painting is divided into 5 tips and Protranse technique which attaches printed paper onto nails was used. Lastly, for nail art III with the subject of "The Enigma of Desire My Mother, My Mother, My Mother" (1929), Water Decal which is emphasizing the parts of the painting and composing on 5 tips and copying printed picture onto Water Transfer Paper in order to attach on the nails is used. These nail arts show aesthetic characteristics such as fantasy, unconsciousness, grotesque, infinity, non-realism and horror just like paintings.

This study was conducted to examine how patchwork was expressed in fashion based on theoretical background on its brief history and expression styles and to show its possibility of creating ways for new expression in modern fashion. This study reviewed literatures on definition, history and styles of patchwork and investigated mainly works, which had been presented in collections home and abroad since 2000, to analyze its expressive characteristics shown in modern fashion. According to analysis on the expression of patchwork, it used various painting techniques such as patterns, colors and surface effect. It included patchwork having patterns provoking elusion of fairy tails; containing painting expression of reproducing works of artists; using colors boldly and contrasting strong primary colors directly to establish purity of painting and to pursuit characteristic expression; and using expression techniques of pure art such as gradation and cutting. Second, it used a compromise expression in materials, methods and substances. Patchwork which had used cloth without a pattern or printed fabric, utilized various materials like vinyl, paper, leather, metal and plastic and had a figurative value showing a solid expression as an objet itself with new techniques and changes of connecting methods. Thirdly, it used tradition patchwork techniques. Pieced patchwork, crazy patchwork and images of traditional odd ends of cloth covering a meal were applied to a whole area or a part of cloth to avoid monotony of design and to use it as a decoration.

The purpose of this study is to analyze characteristics and expression methods of contemporary art museums from the perspective of 'Rhizome', which is considered under similar context as 'indeterminacy' that represents the characteristics of contemporary public spaces. Methods of this study are as follows. First, necessity of this study is verified by investigating literature data and preceding studies, and by examining the fact that indeterminate characteristic is a new approach to contemporary public spaces. Second, in order to analyze Rhizomic expression in public spaces, analysis criteria are suggested by extracting components of public spaces and spatial characteristics of R150hizome from the literature. Third, Rhizomic characteristics and expression methods used in contemporary art museums are understood based on such analysis criteria. Fourth, when each spatial characteristic is expressed in art museums, the study found out that two factors among 'program', 'circulation', and 'form' are planned out as a mixture. Therefore, 'cohesion' is expressed as 'program' and 'form' in contemporary public spaces viewed from the perspective of 'Rhizome'. Also, 'diversity' is actively expressed through 'program' and 'circulation', and 'non-hierarchy' through 'form' and 'circulation'. Such methods are positive methods of expressing indeterminate contemporary public spaces. Since this study conducted analysis on characteristics and expression methods of public spaces from Rhizomic perspective of contemporary society, such results are deemed valuable in planning out public spaces that reflect the characteristics of contemporary society.

This study analyzes into the characteristic appearance in distintion with emotional changes toward visual forms of psychology along with character development in the 3D animation industry. In this regard, the study seeks to propose essential targets of the five emotional characters from the Pixar's animation Inside-Out to prove psychological effects to the character's visual appearance. As a previous research, the study analysis the visual representations oriented toward both emotional facial expression and emotional color expression using both Paul Ekman and Robert Plutchik's human basic emotion research. The purpose of this study is to present the visual guideline of emotional character's appearance through the various human expression for differentiated character development in animation production.

This research centers on studying the function and characteristic of fashion illustration for advertisement and publication which is, among plenty of fashion illustration's functions, the commercial one. Here are some purposes of the research. First, it presents the function of fashion illustration. Second, under the contemporary circumstance of specialization and subdivision. It givers people the better understanding of fashion illustration by providing a variety of its classification bases other than the typical, simple grouping of style drawing and fashion illustration. Third, this research helps fashion illustration establish itself as commercial art by showing how fashion illustration is utilized in the field as a part of the fashion industry. The methods and contents of the research are described that the concept of fashion illustration, characteristic, classification bases and commercial function are presented and than the data of fashion illustration which hale been used as goods since 1990 in the nation are selected in order to analyze the media for the application of fashion illustration. its expression methods, factors and images. By doing so, advertising fashion illustration are much less than those of published fashion illustration and even most cases of advertising fashion illustration are related just to poster advertisement such as magazines, fashion events or public subscription. The published fashion illustration isn't also attracting the public since it focuses on fashion information books, fashion magazines or fashion -clothing books. Another finding is that the expression style of fashion illustration is not various or distinctive. The expression remains in the trends of painting, figurative drawing, sometimes adopts post-modernism which is reflected in popular cartoon and figures exaggerates or simplifies the human body. The image of fashion illustration is simple. casual or feminine in the rough. For the development of commercial fashion illustration, it is required to produce fashion illustrators, not works but goody, with various concepts appealing to the public.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the expression of conceptual image by which the modern graphic artists use for creating new visual images and the characteristics in expression of the major fashion images in fashion illustration. In the present study, major findings on the basis of the analysis of expression of visual images in fashion illustration since 1980s are as follow: The conceptual image expression in the visual arts is based on the eight techniques. They are dual image, operation of image, copying·reproduction of image, deconstruction of image, pictorial image, symbolization of image, mystification of image, and making humorous image. Since 1980s, the major fashion images in fashion illustration are mainly classified as classic image, humor image, fantastic image, natural image, avant-garde image, simple image, casual image and feminine image. The characteristics in expression of these images in fashion illustration are; 1) fortification of dual image in classic image, 2) activation in humor image 3) grotesque fantastic image, 4) the modernization of natural image, etc. In addition that, the image of avant-garde is expressed by Postermodernism, Deconstructionism, Techno etc. since 1980s. Also, simple image of the modern composition, casual image of daily life, and feminine image which is emphasized with eroticism are also included in these characteristic in expression of images since 1980s.

This study is about a relationship of architecture and polyphony music. In the field of interior architecture, there have been many tries of applying characteristics of music, such as abstraction and nature of time for users of space to have new experience. It has been possible because architecture and music have similarities in many ways. Regarding using proportional characteristic in architecture and music, the both fields are enormously related in some ways. The purpose of this study is explaining of possibility of architectural expression in music and suggesting a way of analysing architectural design based on musical elements emphasizing proportional characteristic. Therefore, it is going to analyse Counterpoint of Bach, which is well expressed in music and compare it with proportional characteristic of space through this study.

"Epigenetics" means the study of heritable changes in gene-activity without changes in DNA sequences. Methylation of the cytosine residue in a CpG dinucleotide sequence is a characteristic of the vertebrate genome. In vertebrates, methylation of DNA mainly occurs at the 5′-position of cytosine in a CpG dinucleotide forming 5-methylcytosine. Methylation of DNA plays a profound role in transcriptional repression of gene expression through several mechanisms. Generally, DNA of inactive genes is more heavily methylated than that of active ones; conversely demethylation of DNA reactivates gene expression in vivo and in vitro.

The meaning of the characteristics of formative expression in contemporary residential architecture is flowing elements as important means to inbreathe emotional feeling of movement and as automatic and positive wats of expression. So the purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of formative expression in contemporary residential architecture, and to plan residential design linked with this kind of concept. For this study, analysis of case studies were used and the cases were selected in contemporary residential architecture which were represented having formative expressions since 2005. The major results found that the characteristics of formative expression were ex-center, reiteration, dispersibility, diagonality, plasticity, non-linearity, and deconstruction. In addition to that, we derived various methods expressing the formative characteristics, which were mass transformation, plan variation and composition element transformation. Summing these results up, the various characteristics of formative expression in contemporary residential architecture are understood as the results of the free modeling will of architects fulfilled with the spirit of inquiry and experiment to escape from the standard architecture in order to differentiate themselves.

In this note, we obtain the expression of the characteristic fucntion of the random variable $\int_o^TB_s^{{\alpha},{\beta}}dB_s^{H,K}$, where $B^{{\alpha},{\beta}}$ and $B^{H,K}$ are two independent bifractional Brownian motions with indices ${\alpha}{\in}(0,1),{\beta}{\in}(0, 1]$ and $HK{\in}(\frac{1}{2},\;1)$ respectively.
