It is well known that the speed of induction motor can be controlled in wide range by changing the second exciting e.m.f. of rotor circuit, but that is well not practised because of its complicated system. In order to simplify such a system, the Kramer system of which silicon rectifier substitutes for synchronous converter has analyzed in this paper. The result of this investigation show that in this system, only the equivlent synchronous speed it changed by second exciting e.m.f., but the mechanical output power, torque and power factor is not changed, and that this system is able to compensate the regulated speed on account of the load changed.
This paper deals with PWM patterns for harmonic reduction in inverter fed traction motors and the gear changing techniques for the variable speed drive of traction motor. GTOs are used as switching device of inverter because traction motor is a large load. To derive PWM rattern which can minimize the harmonics with the limited switching frequency, the output current and torque characteristic of SPWM and SHE PWM was analyzed. GTO inverter used for traction motor drive includes harmonics in the output current and torque by the limitation of switching frequency. However, the hybrid PWM method that adopt SPWM in the range of low frequency and SHE PWM in upper frequency range can achieve less harmonic characteristics in GTO inverters. If the traction motor is driven in variable speed by the proposed PWM pattern, 7 times of gear changing is needed. At the instant of the mode change, magnetic flux and torque may be altered and the large current flow. To reduce such an undesirable transient behavior, it is also presented the technique for the gear changing of inverter fed traction motor drive operated with the hybrid PWM. The results are verified by simulations and experiments.
In this paper, pole-changing induction motor has been studied. To control the speed of the induction motor, many various methods can be used. Compared to the other speed control method, pole changing method is simple, cost effective, and reliable. From this research, pole changing induction motor with 2 and 4 pole windings are analyzed and designed, of which rated torque is about 2Nm. A real induction motor is also fabricated and some experiment has been performed showing that the analysis and experiment results are similar.
Tension control performance is very important in high-speed printing machine. One of the major factors that effect to tension control performance is the process of roll changing. Even if the turret arm moves during roll changing process and the span length of the unwinding system varies, it is customary to neglect it in motion and tension control and to consider it as a disturbance. In this paper, its effect is modeled nonlinearly and compared with linear model, and an effect of an infeeder dancer is analyzed under the condition with no unwinder dancer. We verify the performance of the proposed method via simulation in the high-speed printing machine.
The optimal Load-Frequency Control law is presented with the performance criterion which includes the changing rate of governor speed. The authors propose two controllers. One is a dynamic controller using the method of state augmentation and the other is a constant gain controller with use of the trace function lemma by Kleinman. For a more practical realization, a reduced-order Luenberger observer is applied in order to identify unmeasurable states and power demand. The control schemees presented here are tested through the model developed by Elgerd, and the usefulness is demonstrated.

Affected by external factors, errors in time series data collected by sensors are common. Using the traditional method of constraining the speed change rate to clean the errors can get good performance. However, they are only limited to the data of stable changing speed because of fixed constraint rules. Actually, data with uneven changing speed is common in practice. To solve this problem, an online cleaning algorithm for time series data based on dynamic speed change rate constraints is proposed in this paper. Since time series data usually changes periodically, we use the extreme learning machine to learn the law of speed changes from past data and predict the speed ranges that change over time to detect the data. In order to realize online data repair, a dual-window mechanism is proposed to transform the global optimal into the local optimal, and the traditional minimum change principle and median theorem are applied in the selection of the repair strategy. Aiming at the problem that the repair method based on the minimum change principle cannot correct consecutive abnormal points, through quantitative analysis, it is believed that the repair strategy should be the boundary of the repair candidate set. The experimental results obtained on the dataset show that the method proposed in this paper can get a better repair effect.
In the present study, AA 5083-O plates are joined by friction stir welding technique. A universal milling machine was used to perform the welding process of the work-pieces which were fixed on the proper position by a vice. The joints were friction stir welded by two tools with different pin profiles; cylindrical threaded pin and tapered smooth one at different rotational speed values; 400 rpm and 630 rpm, and different welding speed values; 100 mm/min and 160 mm/min. During FSW of each joint, the temperature was measured by infra-red thermal image camera. The welded joints were inspected by visually as well as by the macro- and microstructure evolutions. Furthermore, the joints were tested for measuring the hardness and the tensile strength to study the effect of changing the FSW parameters on the mechanical properties. The results show that increasing the rotational speed results in increasing the peak temperature, while increasing the welding speed results in decreasing the peak temperature for the same tool pin profile. Defect free welds were obtained at lower rotational speed by the threaded tool profile. Moreover, the threaded tool pin profile gives superior mechanical properties at lower rotational speed.
Penetrations of arc welding electrades are different by changing welding conditions, welding speed of travel and current, even though quite same ones. Changing status of penetration is studied by changing welding speed of travel keeping welding current constant, at first, and by changing welding current keeping welding speed of travel which was obtained prior experiment constant, afterward. The F-100 4mm $\phi$ rods, E4301 class, which covering substance is mainly ilmenite and a domestic representative product of this class electrode, are used for this experiment. The Marquette's No.130 5/32"(4mm)$\phi$ rods, E6011 class, and No. 140 5/32"(4mm)$\phi$, E6013 class, which were produced in the United Stated, are used to compare penetration with F-100 at same welding conditions. The covering substance of Marquette's No. 130 rods is mainly cellulose, and belong to deep penetration arc welding electrodes, the covering material of another rods is titania, and a kind f shallow penetration rods. The result of this study is as follow : penetration of F-100, domestic ilmentite covering electrade, E4301 class, is between E6011 and E6013 of the United States products. At the lower range of welding current, penetration is closer to E6013 than E6011, at the higher range, closer to E6011 than another; and the value of penetration ranges $1.65{\sim}2.70mm$ for 4mm$\phi$ rods in the adequate current range. The changing status of penetration is showed by following experimental formula. $P=KE_v^{-\frac{2}{5}}1^{\frac{3}{2}}$
