The Prediction of Cryptocurrency on Using Text Mining and Deep Learning Techniques : Comparison of Korean and USA Market (텍스트 마이닝과 딥러닝을 활용한 암호화폐 가격 예측 : 한국과 미국시장 비교)

  • In this study, we predicted the bitcoin prices of Bithum and Coinbase, a leading exchange in Korea and USA, using ARIMA and Recurrent Neural Networks(RNNs). And we used news articles from each country to suggest a separated RNN model. The suggested model identifies the datasets based on the changing trend of prices in the training data, and then applies time series prediction technique(RNNs) to create multiple models. Then we used daily news data to create a term-based dictionary for each trend change point. We explored trend change points in the test data using the daily news keyword data of testset and term-based dictionary, and apply a matching model to produce prediction results. With this approach we obtained higher accuracy than the model which predicted price by applying just time series prediction technique. This study presents that the limitations of the time series prediction techniques could be overcome by exploring trend change points using news data and various time series prediction techniques with text mining techniques could be applied to improve the performance of the model in the further research.

Study on Estimation Method of Water Cycle Goal in Waterfront City (수변도시의 물순환 목표 산정 방안 연구)

  • The current water-management paradigm is changing from the expansion of reservoirs and facilities for simple outflows and non-point source management to the building of a sound water circulation system throughout the watershed. Based on this, water management for the watershed as a whole is establishing standards through local ordinances. The purpose of this study is to establish water cycle targets that are resilient to water management even after the development of cities in watersheds where water management is highly needed. This was done by referring to research and ordinances related to water circulation by local governments. A method is proposed based on a storage and infiltration method for rainfall. Through a comparison of percentiles, it was found that the water circulation target of a planned waterside city can be treated with 52% of total rainfall and 80% of rainfall of 17 mm per day. To quantitatively improve the quality results of these calculation procedures, it is estimated that the calculation of water cycle targets will be more reliable if other various variables such as the safety of low impact development factors or the selection of appropriate specifications are considered later.

Characteristics of Low Temperature Desorption of Volatile Organic Compounds from Waste Activated Carbon in Cylindrical Cartridge (원통형 활성탄 카트리지 내 폐활성탄의 휘발성 유기화합물 저온 탈착 특성)

  • In this study, the waste activated carbon used in the painting process was filled into a cylindrical cartridge and the characteristics of desorption by low temperature gas were investigated. Adsorption and desorption experiments of toluene with activated carbon were conducted to determine the flow rate of desorption. In an experiment where desorption was performed while changing conditions at flow rates of 1, 2 and 4 ㎥ min-1, it was determined that 2 ㎥ min-1 was appropriate due to the high THC concentration and desorption time. In the early stage of the desorption of waste activated carbon, 2-butanone and MIBK (methyl isobutyl ketone) with a low boiling point were generated at a high rate in the gas component, and after that, the concentration of THC decreased and the BTX was desorbed at a high rate. The total calorific value of the gas component generated during the desorption of waste activated carbon was 316 kcal kg-1. From repeating the regeneration of waste activated carbon with toluene five times, it was observed that the iodine value and the specific surface area were relatively lower than that of new activated carbon. In the desorption experiment where two cylindrical cartridges were connected in series, the maximum THC concentration was about 470 ppm.

A Study on Development of SKOS-based Metadata Elements for Managing Keywords in the National Science and Technology Standard Classification System (국가과학기술표준분류체계 용어 관리를 위한 SKOS 기반 메타데이터 요소 개발 연구)

  • The National Science and Technology Standard Classification System is established and operated for the purpose of efficiently managing science and technology related information, manpower, and R&D projects. The revision cycle for the classification system is five years, and 2022 is the first year of the next revision procedures. The main purpose of the next revision is to turn the third level categories into the keywords in the current classification system. It is to solve the problems about not reflecting the latest terms, and the difficulty in linking with the relevant other classifications caused by the rigid structure of the current classification system. In this study, the method was proposed by changing the existing classification system into the term management system as to improve the quality and usability of keywords related with the current third level categories. For this method, SKOS, the international standard terminology management system, and ISO/IEC 11179 standards were offered as basic models. In addition, the related metadata standards used in overseas scientific and technological glossaries were investigated, and compared with the current National Science and Technology Standard Classification System. And then essential metadata elements from the terminology management as point of view was derived. As a result, 11 standard metadata elements that can be immediately modified and applied in the current system were recommended, and five elements that can be applied after the revision of the classification system were offered.

  • It is not easy to predict the future society in the rapidly changing present, but it is said that a new social environment of sensibility and virtuality will come, and we should pay attention to the fact that women have entered this as the subject. This study is a literature review study on gender roles. Through the study, it was found that gender stereotypes that exist in our society allow men to enjoy a lot of vested rights just by being male, and that women have to endure pain because they are women is accepted as a matter of course. Living in the 21st century, we were able to know the reality that we could not escape the pre-modern patriarchal ideology and still worshiped the idea of preferring boys. Through this study, unlike other elderly groups, elderly people who live alone are likely to be cut off from society and lead a limited life in their own world. However, through the efforts of the government, local organizations, and individuals, the goal of welfare for the elderly is to increase the satisfaction of life for the elderly living alone so that they can enjoy a successful old age. From this point of view, the support measures for the elderly living alone will be effective only when systematic and complementary in various dimensions such as family structure, physical, economic, and social aspects.

A Study on the Data Availability Statements of Researchers Affiliated with Korean Institutions: Focusing on the PLOS ONE (국내 기관 소속 연구자의 데이터 가용성 진술 (Data Availability Statements) 현황 연구: PLOS ONE 학술지를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the current status and characteristics of research data sharing by domestic researchers by analyzing the data sharing mechanism and repository specified in DAS of papers authored by domestic researchers. To this end, in this study, papers of researchers belonging to domestic institutions published in PLOS ONE from 2014 to 2022 were selected as the subject of the study. First of all, the status of DAS's existence in the papers was identified, the types of data-sharing mechanisms were analyzed using precedent studies, and the trend of changes in each data-sharing mechanism over time was investigated. As a result, it was found that DAS was written in 99.6% of the target papers, and the types of data-sharing mechanisms were similar to international patterns, but preferred types were changing over time. Afterward, focusing on repositories among data sharing mechanisms, the number and ratio of repositories mentioned in DAS were identified, and the trend of changes in use of the five repositories mentioned a lot was analyzed in a time series. In addition, the presentation method, type, and validity of the data access point mentioned along with the repository were also investigated. It was confirmed that the top five frequently mentioned repositories account for 60% of all repository mentions, and the use of a repository dealing with data codes is increasing; in addition, it was found that most of the data access points presented with the repository were valid.

  • As time is rapidly changing, the culture to represent an era is getting more subdivided and complex. Due to cultural diversity, the influence, cause, characteristics which could be understood in individual field centered by space in the past cannot be understood now only by the viewpoint of one field, and it has become difficult to predict and correspond to the change of the future. With the development of information and knowledge delivery system, various cultural contents to form a space are being created and lapsed, but there are a lot of parts which cannot be explained or understood by only one point of view. To inspect these situation, this study is aimed to draw the Tangibility and Intangibility Value causes that became the influence with Jongmyo Shrine, designated from UNESCO at February 1995, a traditional space with historical superiority, analyze the key factors that became the main factor to form the space, and consider the importance of the related factors. The unconstructured data technique which is applied as the method of analysis in this study can be said to be a new value judgement and viewpoint in interpreting the space. Therefore, this study is a new trial to provide a frame for multilaterally interpreting the various traditional space and culture of Korea from the past to the present.

A Study on the AI Analysis of Crop Area Data in Aquaponics (아쿠아포닉스 환경에서의 작물 면적 데이터 AI 분석 연구)

  • Unlike conventional smart farms that require chemical fertilizers and large spaces, aquaponics farming, which utilizes the symbiotic relationship between aquatic organisms and crops to grow crops even in abnormal environments such as environmental pollution and climate change, is being actively researched. Different crops require different environments and nutrients for growth, so it is necessary to configure the ratio of aquatic organisms optimized for crop growth. This study proposes a method to measure the degree of growth based on area and volume using image processing techniques in an aquaponics environment. Tilapia, carp, catfish, and lettuce crops, which are aquatic organisms that produce organic matter through excrement, were tested in an aquaponics environment. Through 2D and 3D image analysis of lettuce and real-time data analysis, the growth degree was evaluated using the area and volume information of lettuce. The results of the experiment proved that it is possible to manage cultivation by utilizing the area and volume information of lettuce. It is expected that it will be possible to provide production prediction services to farmers by utilizing aquatic life and growth information. It will also be a starting point for solving problems in the changing agricultural environment.

Analysis of Rainfall Runoff Reduction Effect Depending upon the Location of Detention Pond in Urban Area (도시유역 저류지 위치에 따른 우수유출저감효과 분석)

  • Urbanization results in increased runoff volume and flowrate and shortening in time of concentration, which may cause frequent flooding downstream. The retardation structures are used to eliminate adverse downstream effects of urban stormwater runoff. There are various types of flow retardation measures include detention basin, retention basin, and infiltration basin. In this study, to present a rough standard about location of detention pond for attenuating peak flow of urban area, the runoff reduction effect is analyzed at outlet point when detention pond is located to upstream drainage than outlet. The runoff reduction effects are analyzed under the three assumed basins. These basins have longitudinal shape (SF = 0. 204), concentration shape (SF = 0. 782), and middle shape (SF = 0.567). Numerous variables in connection with the storage effect of detention pond and the runoff reduction effects are analyzed by changing the location of detention pond. To analyze runoff reduction effect by location of single detention pond, Dimensionless Upstream Area Ratio (DUAR) is changed to 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80% according to the basin shape. In case of multiple detention pond, DUAR is changed to 60%, 80%, 100%, 120%, and 140% only under the middle shape basin (SF = 0.567). Related figures and regression equations to determine the location of detention pond are obtained from above analysis of two cases in this study. These results can be used to determine the location of appropriate detention pond corresponding to the any runoff reduction such as storage ratio and peak flow ratio in urban watershed.
