  • This study examined the characteristics of the relationship of environmental variables that is HOME socio-demographic variables and children's verbal ability at age five. Especially this study investigated causal relationships among the variables which are supposed to affect children's verbal ability. The subjects of this study were 60 children at age five and their mothers. Instruments included inventory of home stimulation(HOME) inventory of socio-demographic variables inventory of the children's verbal ability and intelligence test. The results obtained from study were as follows: 1. For the most part environmental variables had a significant positive correlation with children's verbal ability 2. The variables that significantly predicted boy's verbal ability were aspects of physical environment breadth of experienc. And the variables that significantly predicted girls' verbal ability were developmental stimulation economic status of the home. 3. The results of the analysis of the causal model showed that the kind of variables that affected boy's verbal ability directly were indirect stimulation direct stimulation. And the kind of variables that affected girls' verbal ability directly were direct stimulation econmic status of the home inditect stimulation. 4. Another causal model of the environmental variables affecting children's verbal ability were formulated by exogenous variables(socio-demographic variables) and by endogenous variables (HOME, children's intelligence). The results of the analysis of the causal model showed that only HOME variables significantly affected boy's and girls' verbal ability directly.

  • Unlike previous studies on the causal relationship between energy consumption and economic growth, this paper analyses the dynamic causal relationship between these variables using the dynamic vector using Johansen's multiple cointegration procedure, dynamic vector error-correction model and impulse response function. The empirical results show that while the energy consumption to a shock in income responds positively, the income responds positively to the shocks in energy consumption in the first place and then the responses become negative. We also find that the impact of energy consumption shock on the income is short-lived and causes higher inflationary pressure.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the causal relationship between the variables related to media sports violence viewing experience, negative emotion, aggression and violent imitation behavior of middle school students and high school students. The subjects of 240 middle school students and 240 high school students were surveyed for 2 months. Among the collected data, 64 samples judged to have low reliability were excluded from the analysis, and the final 416 data were used. The questionnaire used in this study consisted of four potential variables including experience of watching media sports violence, negative emotion, aggression, and violent imitation behavior. Among the sub-variables of experience of watching media sports violence, exogenous potential variables except frequency, period and time and questions that are endogenous potential variables were composed of a questionnaire of 5-point Likert scale. results of this study were analyzed using the AMOS statistical program, which was used to identify the causal relationship between watching media sports violence and negative emotion, aggression, and violent imitation behavior. There was no significant difference in violent imitation behavior according to school grade. The causal models for media sports violence viewing experience, negative emotions, aggression and violent imitation behavior were found to be appropriate. It was found that there was a significant causal relationship between the viewing experience of sports violence and the violent imitation behavior. Therefore, in order to reduce the imitation behavior of adolescents, it is necessary to be more careful about the production and viewing of sports violence programs at the institutions and homes that produce media.

  • The current study adds to the body of knowledge about the mediation in the causal link between students' perceptions of the utility of eLearning and their learning performance. The data was collected from 500 questionnaires that were delivered to the students at the Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City. Only 422 finished questionnaires were usable for analyses, indicating a responding rate of 84.4%. Multiple regressions were used to investigate causal correlations, whereas Goodman's (1960) techniques were used to investigate mediating relationships. The major findings reveal that both the utility and adoption of eLearning have an impact on students' learning performance, with usefulness being a crucial determinant of eLearning adoption for study. More meaningfully, statistical evidence on the mediation of adopting eLearning for study in the causal linkage from the usefulness of eLearning perceived by students to their learning performance was provided. The relevance of using eLearning for study is stressed in this study, where it is not only one of the key antecedents of their learning performance, but also acts as a mediator between the usefulness of eLearning and learning performance in the research model.

  • Purpose - The importance of customer experiences has been increasing in retail industry as wells as theme park industry. The purpose of this research is to investigate relationships among brand experience, customer perceived value and brand support behavior in theme park industry. Furthermore, we tried to examine the moderating effects of interaction with customers in the relationships between brand experience and customer perceived value. Besides, we provided some implications for not only the theme park industry but also other service industries such as retail industry. Research design, data, and methodology - The research model has nine hypotheses, and we examined them empirically in this study. Five hypotheses were about relationships among theme park brand experiences, customer perceived value, and brand support behavior. The other four hypotheses were about the moderating effects of customer interactions in the causal relationship between brand experiences and customer perceived value. A total of 167 samples who had visited the theme park were surveyed and the hypotheses were tested with the statistical package programs such as SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0. Results - The results of this study are as follows. First, it was proved that theme park visitors' sensory experience, emotional experience, and cognitive experience have significant positive effects on perceived value, although the hypothesis about the causal relationship between behavioral experience and perceived value is not supported. Second, the customer perceived value has a positive effect on brand support behavior. Third, customer interaction has a positive moderating effect between brand experiences and perceived value, except for behavioral experience. Conclusions - Based on the results of this study, there can be following significances and implications from both theoretical and practical perspectives. First, we confirmed the importance of experiential marketing in other service industries such as retail industry as well as the theme park industry. The marketing managers in these industries need to design various experience programs considering the various characteristics of experiences such as sensory, emotional, and cognitive experiences. Second, it will be necessary for the theme park managers to encourage active participation of customers, and raise the level of interaction between employees and customers.

  • Purpose - This work analyzes, in detail, the specification of vector error correction model (VECM) and thus examines the relationships and impact among seven economic variables for USA - balance on current account (BCA), index of stock (STOCK), gross domestic product (GDP), housing price indices (HOUSING), a measure of the money supply that includes total currency as well as large time deposits, institutional money market funds, short-term repurchase agreements and other larger liquid assets (M3), real rate of interest (IR_REAL) and household credits (LOAN). In particular, we search for the main explanatory variables that have an effect on stock and real estate market, respectively and investigate the causal and dynamic associations between them. Research design, data, and methodology - We perform the time series vector error correction model to infer the dynamic relationships among seven variables above. This work employs the conventional augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) and Phillips-Perron (PP) unit root techniques to test for stationarity among seven variables under consideration, and Johansen cointegration test to specify the order or the number of cointegration relationship. Granger causality test is exploited to inspect for causal relationship and, at the same time, impulse response function and variance decomposition analysis are checked for both short-run and long-run association among the seven variables by EViews 9.0. The underlying model was analyzed by using 108 realizations from Q1 1990 to Q4 2016 for USA. Results - The results show that all the seven variables for USA have one unit root and they are cointegrated with at most five and three cointegrating equation for USA. The vector error correction model expresses a long-run relationship among variables. Both IR_REAL and M3 may influence real estate market, and GDP does stock market in USA. On the other hand, GDP, IR_REAL, M3, STOCK and LOAN may be considered as causal factors to affect real estate market. Conclusions - The findings indicate that both stock market and real estate market can be modelled as vector error correction specification for USA. In addition, we can detect causal relationships among variables and compare dynamic differences between countries in terms of stock market and real estate market.

  • The Purpose of this study is to analyze telecommunications impacts on travel in a comprehensive system, considering demand, supply, costs, and land use. This study first Presents a conceptual model, considering causal relationships among travel, telecommunications, land use, economic activity, and socio-demographics. Then, based on the conceptual model, the aggregate causal relationships between telecommunications (local telephone calls, toll calls, and mobile phone subscribers) and travel (vehicle-miles traveled and number of transit Passengers) are explored in a comprehensive framework, using structural equation modeling of national time series data spanning 1950-2000 in the U.S. The model results suggest that as telecommunications demand increases, travel demand increases, and vice versa. Additionally. transportation infrastructure and land use significantly affect travel demand.

  • In this paper, we arrange the concept of 'Green' in SCM after literature study of Green SCM and investigate causal relationships between influencing factors, practice level and environmental performance focused on Korean firms empirically and conduct path analysis for hypothesis test using partial least squares regression with bootstrap. Firstly, we divide influencing factors of Green SCM into environmental and organizational factors through the previous studies of innovation diffusion theory and environmental management theory, and then we selected 'uncertainty', 'competitiveness' as the environmental factors and 'top management support', 'perceived benefit', 'training' as the organizational factors. Secondly, we classify practice level of Green SCM into 'internal environmental management', 'green purchasing', 'eco-design'. Finally, we selected 'financial performance', 'environmental performance' as the organizational performance. We conducted a survey on the middle manager of manufacturing companies implementing SCM and an empirical analysis. The results of analysis show that there exist causal relationships between influencing factors, practice level, and environmental performance of Green SCM. We expect that the result of this study will suggest useful information to managers who are responsible for SCM to design and execute Green SCM in strategic perspectives.

  • This study examines how marital dissatisfaction is connected with extramarital relations among married women. To explore this subject,1 am using in-depth interview techniques. The data from 16 married women who involved (and are involving) extramarital relations are collected in semistructured interviews. In this article, I describe four specific types of extramarital relations with particular relevance to marital dissatisfaction: (1) temporary extramarital relations caused by marital dissatisfaction, (2) positive extramarital relations as maintaining dissatisfied marriage, (3) unavoidable extramarital relations as breaking dissatisfied marriage, and (4) extramarital relations as a part of life with satisfied marriage. With these results, I believe that equity theory could be applicable in explaining the relationships between marital satisfaction and extramarital relations. There are limitations when the qualitative research is analyzed. One problem is measurement. It is difficult to measure equality (or equity), life dissatisfaction, and other concepts. furthermore, this study is not abbe to explain causal relationships among equality, life dissatisfaction, actual extramarital relations. The future study should perhaps be in quantitative research focused on the causal model in which all exchange variables are conceptualized and properly measured for the intimate relationship.
