The fungi play an important role in smell and taste during the fermentation of salami. In this study, the fungi from the salami casing during the fermentation process in Korea were isolated. They were examined by morphological and molecular methods and were identified as Aspergillus cibarius, Penicillium echinulatum, Cladosporium sphaerospermum. Of these, A. cibarius formed white or light green conidial heads on salami casing and it was widely distributed through almost whole casing. P. echinulatum occurred sparsely on the casing of the salami and formed white masses. C. sphaerospermum occurred rarely and formed black spots. It is considered that additional studies on their roles on salami are required.

After bottle culture of Pleurotus ostreatus, sawdust was taken out from the bottle and accumulated in the middle of March, and then composted. As the result, Y value was decreased rapidly 30 days after composting, and it was decreased slowly after 30 days. It is considered that 118 days is required for composting, however, it is possible to use for casing material after at least 48 days composting. The pH and total nitrogen content of sawdust based on composting period had tendency to increase as composting was processed. Total carbon and C/N rate had tendency to decrease as time went on. Based on the rate of 10, 30 and 50%, each sawdust was added to clay loam used as casing material for culturing A. bisporrus. Among various treatments, the mycelial growth of A. bisporus was more favorable in the treatment of 30% sawdust than in the single treatment of clay loam. Based on the date necessary for primodium formation of A. bisporus, the primodium formation in the treatment of 30% sawdust was reduced to about 5 days as compared with that of any other treatments When 30% sawdust was added to clay loam used as casing material for culturing A. bisporus, the yield of its fruiting body was increased to 28%.

Boreholes that are drilled in soft or unconsolidated materials such as gravels and coals are prone to collapse. To maintain the hole, some kinds of casing pipes are needed. If thereby a plastic pipe e.g. PVC is used for the casing, Televiewer tool is still capable of detecting structural features such as fractures in the borehole wall behind the pipe, whereas other borehole-imaging logging devices such as BIPS (Borehole Image Processing System) and FMS(Formation Micro Scanner) won't provide any information about that. Televiewer's primary component is a piezoelectric transducer centered in the hole. It acts as both a transmitter and receiver, and sends an ultrasonic beam. That is reflected, in the same manner as the seismic wave propagation, from the both sides(inner and outer surfaces) of the casing pipe, transmits through the pipe and then reflected from the borehole wall. With an appropriate choice of time-windowing, it is possible to capture the returning signals from both the borehole wall and the outer side of casing pipe as well. A suite of laboratory tests were performed on various physical models composed of plastic pipes with different diameters. Although the amplitudes of returning signals were reduced to about half the usual value due to the transmission loss, the dynamic range of Televiewer tool was sufficient to observe the structural features behind the casing pipe. Besides, several representative case studies at various research areas in our country are presented. The results demonstrate the usefulness of the transmissivity of Televiewer acoustic km, which will assist in further structural interpretation.
If a broken blade in the aircraft engine penetrates the casing and ejects outside the aircraft, it will impact the fuselage, threatening the safety of the passengers. Thus, the development of a engine case should be certified for stability evaluation by the Aviation Administration. In this paper, we investigated the requirements and development technology for the containment certification of the engine casing necessary for the independent engine development in the country. An experimental/analytical method has been identified to summarize the contact safety requirements presented by the U.S. and European aviation agencies to verify the containment of debris in the casing corresponding to this certification. Also, we analyzed recent research on the containment casing and verification methods in casing development.
This study was conducted to set the proper sterilization standards of casing soil for the stable production of button mushroom(Agaricus bisporus) from mushroom disease that occurs in infection of casing soil material. Changes of aerobic bacteria are increased as the longer grow-out period and sharply increased after second flushes. Fluorescence Psuedomonas showed high density at high sterilization temperature and $100^{\circ}C$ treatment has extremely high density at 30 min and 60 min in casing 22 days. Density of thermophilic actinomyces is sharply increase from casing with soil and the highest density at 22 days of casing and rapidly decrease after first flushes. Sterilizing temperature of casing soil affects quality and quantity of button mushroom. Treatment of 60 min, 90 min at $80^{\circ}C$ and 30 min at $100^{\circ}C$ produced the highest mushroom yields, especially mushrooms yields of A grads were the highest at treatment of 90 min at $80^{\circ}C$. Treatment of 60min at $100^{\circ}C$ products many yields, however, this treatment has low economic feasibility for its yields. Sterilizing temperature of casing soil has an effect on generating diseases and insect pests. Treatment of 60 min, 90 min at $80^{\circ}C$ and 30 min $100^{\circ}C$ showed lower incidence than the other treatment. Although treatment of 30 min at $100^{\circ}C$ causes low diseases and mushroom fly damage, it has low mushroom yields. Furthermore, although treatment of 60 min at $100^{\circ}C$ has high mushroom yields, it causes high diseases and mushroom fly damage. Therefore the best conditions for the sterilization of casing soils was 60 min and 90 min at $80^{\circ}C$.
Material degradation should be considered to assess integrity and residual life of high temperature equipments. However, the property data reflecting degradation are not sufficient for practical use. In this study, mechanical properties of 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V casting steel generally used for turbine casing were measured and variation of microstructure was observed. Degradation was simulated by isothermal heat treatment.
Comprehensive study on a centrifugal blower for air-purifier involving a few physical filters for percolation process has been accomplished for an optimal design of the air handling system. The filtering media causes a flow resistance for induced flows by a rotating impeller. The present methodology is to adopt PIV system for velocity measurements and wind tunnel connected with an anechoic chamber for total performance test of the blower. Trial prototypes for the blades of a rotor and casing are presented for satisfaction of both flow rate and noise level set by design objectives. Tapered blades with a special casing for a fan show good performance data. The results of velocity fields also explain the reason of improvements of the blower performance.
This paper describes the performance and internal flow characteristics of two-stage high pressure ring blower. Chamber-type test rig is designed and manufactured for the performance test of the ring blower. Detailed flow characteristics inside the impeller and casing are analyzed by three-dimensional numerical simulation. Throughout numerical simulation, non-uniform inflow to the impeller inlet and reverse flow are observed near the inlet duct of the blower. This non-uniform inflow makes various recirculation flow inside the casing with the complicated shape of casing. Low velocity region is locally formed near the both sides of impeller outlet due to the non-uniform inflow to the impeller, thus deteriorates the performance of a ring blower.
The design procedure for centrifugal blower with high inlet resistance is not presented yet. Overall fluid dynamic performance is estimated for comparison between the case of atmospheric inlet condition and the present model. Detail information between blades is prepared by using a commercial program, SCRYU-Tetra. A centrifugal blower with large inlet pressure is adopted in an air purifier having filtering devices. As the inlet residence increases the flow rate of the system is decreased. In parallel, outlet area of the system affects the performance of the system in the sense of flow balance. Consequently, the flow balance between the inlet and outlet becomes an important parameter for the design of the scroll casing for the centrifugal blower with high inlet pressure.

This paper presents the vibration problem of the Engine Casing (E/C) "B" deck in the handymax vessel and describes a method to avoid resonance. The first ship of the series did not have any vibration issue on the "B" deck. However, resonance condition occurred when additional machine was installed to the following vessels. To understand the dynamic characteristics of the deck, the normal mode analysis and impact test have been performed. Within the normal operating range of the vessel, the $1^{st}$ natural frequency of the E/C "B" deck is close to the main engine's $6^{th}$ order. Based on these analysis, a reinforcement on the deck was suggested and it proved to be effective. Since actual impact test after the reinforcement also confirmed the resonance avoidance.
