Purpose. This study was purposed to seek for a way to enhance the self-efficacy of students in dental hygiene department at deciding their careers by analyzing the relationship between the self-efficacy and the major satisfaction. Methods. The investigator conducted a survey targeting 253 students attending on dental hygiene departments in two 3-year-graduate colleges and 1 university located in Busan from May 1st to May 30th, 2013. The used research instruments were the major satisfaction questionnaire and the Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale Short Form(CDMSES-SF). The survey was conducted in self-administered questionnaire. The data was analyzed with SPSS (ver 12.0) and also conducted t-test, ANOVA and multi-regression analysis. Results. It was found that self-efficacy level of students in dental hygiene department was $3.22{\pm}0.38$ point, and their major satisfaction level was $3.27{\pm}0.47$ point. The factors enhancing the self-efficacy of students in dental hygiene department at deciding their careers were identified as the curriculum satisfaction, the relationship satisfaction, and the recognition satisfaction. It was identified that more these elements were increased, the higher the self-efficacy level was enhanced. Conclusions. In order to enhance the self-efficacy of students in dental hygiene department at deciding their careers, it is considered that the curriculum should be organized carefully under reasonable plan, and there should be more active communication between professors and students as well as students each other. Besides there needs some educational programs to inspire the pride and sense of duty for the dental hygiene department.
This study aimed to clarify the effects of nursing students' major selection motivation on their career decision making self-efficacy and major satisfaction. For the goal, the study made a questionnaire survey of 300 nursing students in their 3rd or 4th year of a college in J City. 285 sheets were finally analyzed using the SPSS 25 Program. The findings of this research are as follows. Concerning general characteristics, there's a significant difference in influence on the abovementioned self-efficacy between personality and school satisfaction. Major satisfaction significantly varied depending on school satisfaction. There were significantly positive correlations existed between major selection motivation, and major satisfaction. Either intrinsic or extrinsic motivation affected the foresaid self-efficacy and major satisfaction in a significant, positive way. Regarding the influence of factors of major satisfaction on those of major selection motivation, curriculum and perception satisfaction had significant effects on intrinsic motivation as well as extrinsic one, while relationship satisfaction had such effect only on intrinsic motivation. These findings suggest that strategies for raising nursing students' major selection motivation should be taken, resultantly improving their career decision making self-efficacy and major satisfaction.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of job-seeking stress, career decision-making self-efficacy and self-esteem on subjective happiness of university students. Methods: The participants were 281 university students in D city. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 19.0 using one-way ANOVA, t-test, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression. Results: Subjective happiness showed positive association with career decision-making self-efficacy, self-esteem and negative association with job-seeking stress. Factors that had an influence on subjective happiness were monthly family income (less than two million won ${\beta}$=-.263, p<.001, between two million won and four million won ${\beta}$=-.207, p<.001), major satisfaction (very unsatisfied ${\beta}$=-.221, p<.001, satisfied ${\beta}$=.161, p=.003), gender (female ${\beta}$=-.154, p=.005), subjective health (unhealthy ${\beta}$=-.134, p=.013), and school year (sophomore ${\beta}$=-.123, p=.024). These factors explained 22.6% of the variance in their subjective happiness. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that more positive career decision-making self-efficacy, self-esteem and more negative job-seeking stress were needed for their subjective happiness. This study also indicated that economic status, major satisfaction, gender, and subjective health were very important in predicting their subjective happiness. Thus, to improve their happiness, it would be necessary to consider both intrinsic factors such as major satisfaction and extrinsic factors such as general characteristics.
The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact on mental health of university students from job-seeking stress, career decision-making, and social support. 429 university students from the three universities in J province were instructed to answer structured questionnaires, and the data was analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation, and Regression analysis using SPSS 24.0 software. The results reveal that job-seeking stress shows positive correlation to mental health, whereas career decision-making and social support show statistically significant negative correlations. The results also show that the factors that affect mental health are job-seeking stress and social support with Exploratory power of 48.9%. It is necessary to develop and apply measures that consider impact factors such as job-seeking stress to improve mental health of university students. It is also important to establish and maintain a support system for mental health.

This study was conducted to investigate the relationship among major satisfaction (MS), clinical competence (CC), career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMS), and career decision level (CDL) for undergraduate nursing students. A self-report instrument was used to measure MS, CC, CDMS, and CDL. Questionnaires were completed by 307 nursing students in three nursing colleges, and path analysis was employed to validate the proposed model and analyze the causal relationships among variables. Four constructs (MS, CC, CDMS, and career decision) were analyzed. To build a path model, MS and CC were linked to CDMS and career decision. The initial analysis suggested that the modification needed modification; therefore, a covariance link was added. The overall goodness of fit for indices indicated satisfactory path analysis. The indices were revealed as $x^2=2412$, GFI=0.996, AGFI=0.961, and RMSEA=0.068. As a result, the proposed model was acceptable with a good fit, and there were significant direct and indirect effects of paths in the model. Specifically, MS and CC had a direct influence on CDMS, and MS and CDMS directly affected CDL. Moreover, MS and CC had indirect effects on CDL through CDMS. These results imply that students' CDMS should be seriously considered when designing counseling programs for career guidance, and substantiality of CC education is needed to improve CDMS. These results may provide a practical guideline to provide educational intervention for nursing students.
This research verified the mediated effect between the level of satisfactory from extracurricular activities and the influence of perfectionism on self efficacy of career decisions. In order to test the theory, a total of 271 students were surveyed from Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Chungcheongnam-do. SPSS 21.0 was utilized to study the frequency analysis and technical statistics and a correlation analysis was performed to understand the relationship between major factors. Also, to test the mediated effect we used a recurrent analysis to perform a career analysis. The first result showed adoptable perfectionism affecting the students self efficacy in deciding a career by collecting information on jobs, setting a goal, planning and solving problems. Second, perfectionism influenced the satisfactory level of extracurricular activities. Third, the satisfaction of extracurricular activities acted as a partially mediated effect between the relationship of perfectionism and students self efficacy in deciding their career by collecting information on jobs, setting a goal, planning and solving problems. Therefore, this study indicates to be used as founding material and theoretical implications in order to develop programs to improve self efficacy in career choices for students.
The purpose of this study is to devise a model of career decision in the science-gifted by exploring factors of having influence upon career decision in the science-gifted undergraduates of our country, and by examining pattern and path of career decision. By suggesting a model of structure, which synthetically considered factors of parents (parental social support), school (stress of college life, adjustment to college life), and individual characteristics(problem solving ability, career decision-making self-efficacy, conviction for major selection)as for career decision in the science-gifted undergraduates through this study, the aim was to arrange the theoretical frame for career in the science-gifted undergraduates. The research subjects were 93(class of 2007~2009) students who completed education in 2002 and 2003 at the gifted education center affiliated with University, and 264 scholarship students(class of 2005-2008) by the President at home and abroad, who are receiving scholarship by being selected as a science scholarship student by the incumbent President. The measurement tools, which were used in this study for collecting data, are test of parental social support, test of problem-solving ability, test of stress in college life, test of adjustment to college life, test of efficacy in career decision, and test of having confidence in selecting a major. For statistical analysis of the collected data, SPSS Program and AMOS Program were used. As a result, the model showed a good fit to the present data in the science-gifted undergraduates, TLI=.928, CFI=.941, RMSEA=.059. It was confirmed to be a model that is accepted in the group of the science-gifted undergraduates. Also, hypotheses, which were established on the basis of a theoretical quest, could be known to have been all adopted except one path. The results of this study can be offered as basic data for developing program and implementing a system in order to broaden the width of understanding about career and to help the career decision in the science-gifted.

This study is to know the relations between self-efficacy and a factor to decide their major for beautician students. with questionnaires from 180 beautician students in Seoul, we could see a significant result with p < .05 from self-confidence and self-control efficacy of self-efficacy according to major satisfaction, a high level of significant result with p < .01 from level of difficulty of assignment, a significant result with p < .05 from information collect of career-deciding factor, and a greatly high level with p < .001 from goal setting, career planning and self-rating. As to verify the correlation of sub variables between self-efficacy and career-deciding factor, I analyzed it. Then I found that every variables except problem solve in self-confidence of self-efficacy variables showed a significant result and every variables between sub-variables and others in career-deciding factor showed a significant outcome. In conclusion, it is considered that self-efficacy resulting from major satisfaction plays a critical role in students career decision-making and that students self-efficacy and career deciding factors are corelated, given the meaningful outcome from them.

Student-athletes identify themselves as athletes first and students second and experience identity foreclosure in which they rarely consider other possibilities for their career besides professional athletes. There is a gap between the career education that college student-athletes and regular students get, so we conducted this study to test the effectiveness of a career education program. The proposed career education program was based on Super and Ginsberg's career development theory and Holland's career choice theory. Data were collected from 13 college student-athletes using a pretest-posttest research design and analyzed using a t-test. The program was conducted in the form of 90-minute weekly sessions over 3 weeks. The program's effectiveness was measured in terms of participants' stress from a lack of career information, career preparedness, self-understanding, and career decision-making self-efficacy. The results showed that each variable, except stress from a lack of career information, was significantly improved after the program compared to before the program, indicating that the program was effective. Theoretical and practical implications regarding career education for student-athletes are discussed in this paper.

The purpose of the study was investigated on that whether there was any statistical difference or not in terms of the career decision making according to the growth environment of High school students. The researcher surveyed 600 questionnaires for high school students and was using 539 questionnaires in the final analysis. They were analyzed by cluster analyses according to the growth environment scale and it classified into two cluster groups. The cluster group A and B had a significant difference on scores of the growth environment scale. The group A had more interested in activities such as political, social, intellectual, and cultural ones and participated at social and leisure activities. Moreover, the group was emphasis on moral and religious values. The group B got the higher score than group A about the score of the rational type of the career decision making: the group A got the higher score than the group B to the score of the dependent type. On the matter of the job information collection sub-scale, the group A got the higher score than the group B: the group A scored higher points than group B about the goal establishment and the self-estimate sub-scales. Therefore, in order to do the career-guidance of youths, each family had to provide positive growth environment which required various stimuli and affluent in experience settings for them to mature.
