The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing family caregivers' reaction of persons with cancer. The study participants were 130 cancer patients and their family caregivers. Data on participant characteristics, caregiver reaction, perceived social support, and cancer related health literacy were collected from July 17 to November 7, 2018 using a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed with the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program for descriptive statistics, using independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation coefficient and enter multiple regression analysis. The determining factors affecting caregivers' reaction were in case of spouse of patient(${\beta}=.252$, p=.002), subjective health status(${\beta}=-.207$ p=.012), and health literacy (self-care, patient's needs and preference) (${\beta}=-.411$, p<.001; ${\beta}=.247$, p=.037 respectively), and their explanation power was about 37.9%. This finding underscores the need for developing and application of the individualized education program with health literacy improvement strategies for family caregivers of cancer patients.
This study was a descriptive correlation investigation that assessed the caring burden of caregivers who care for dementia and examined the effects of the burden on the somatic symptoms and health perception. The subjects were 174 caregivers and data collection was conducted from April 1 to 30, 2018. The data were analyzed t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. A Scheffe test was used for post-analysis. The caring burden and somatic symptoms were found to be mid-high and moderate, respectively. The health was perceived to be not good, and the subjective awareness of well-being appeared to be low. The caring burden showed a positive correlation with the somatic symptoms(r=.157, p<.05), and the somatic symptoms showed a positive correlation with the perceived health(r=.220, p<.01). As a result of the study, caregiving burden of caregivers showed the factors influencing their physical and mental health status, it is suggested to carry out research to find out whether there is a difference in burden of care according to the working place of caregiver. In addition, it is necessary to develop a tool to measure the burden of caregivers and to carry out repeated research.

This study aimed to compare the elimination effect of dental plaque between general toothbrushes and chewing toothbrushes, so as to investigate whether the chewing toothbrushes have the practicality as the alternatives of general toothbrushes and their utilities in the real life. The study subjects were 30 healthy adults in their 20s who maintained the good dental condition over 16 teeth without systemic diseases, and the decline rates of dental plaque index after usages of general and chewing toothbrushes were calculated. Upon the comparisons of dental plaque decline rates before and after the usages of general and chewing toothbrushes, PHI index was declined from 7.02 to 1.91 in case of the general toothbrush demonstrating dental plaque decline by 72.79%, while it was declined from 6.72 to 4.08 in the chewing toothbrush demonstrating decline by 39.29%. Currently, a variety of dental care items are available in the Korean market, hence, various studies are required on the dental care items so as for the people to properly choose the items.

The purpose of this study was to examine job stress, job satisfaction, and turnover intention of the nurses who work at the comprehensive nursing service units in two academic medical institutions that provide healthcare service at the tertiary care level in Korea. A descriptive study was conducted with the nurses by using self-reported questionnaires. We used descriptive statistics to summarize the data and Mann-Whitney U test for group comparison. The mean scores of job stress, job satisfaction, and turnover intention were $89.17{\pm}12.56$, $107.25{\pm}6.85$, $37.19{\pm}4.86$, respectively. Nurses with religion showed more job stress than those without. Nurses with their age below 30 years old had significantly less job satisfaction than those older than 30 years old. Monthly income was significantly associated with turnover intention in our data. The top three sub-category of the job stress were conflict with physicians, patients and their caregivers, and conflicts with others; and those of the job satisfaction were pay and promotion and task requirement. Job stress, job satisfaction, and turnover intention were significantly correlated. In order to reduce turnover intention of nursing professionals in the comprehensive nursing service, job stress related to issues on relationships with patients, their family, health care providers need to be taken into consideration. Policy and administrative support are needed to improve their work environment.
The virtual reality training has been suggested as an intervention to improve physical function. But, the effects of virtual reality training focused on improving ADL in patients with acute stroke are unclear. Purpose of this study was to examine the effect of virtual reality training on hand function and activities of daily living (ADL) in patients with acute stroke. Sixteen patients with acute stroke were included in this study. The experimental group (VRA group) received 30 minutes of virtual reality training focused on ADL for each session, while the control group received 30 minutes of conventional virtual reality training. To examine the hand function and ADL of the subjects, the study used Jebsen-Tylor Hand Function Test (JTHFT) and Korean Modified Barthel Index (K-MBI), respectively. Both groups showed significant improvements in hand function of affected and unaffected sides, and in K-MBI total score before and after the intervention. The experimental group showed significantly greater improvements in the self-care domain of K-MBI after intervention than the control group. These findings suggest that the virtual reality training focused on ADL may have a better effect on self-care than conventional virtual reality training in patients with acute stroke.
The purposes of this study were to examine a tendency of kindergarten teachers' daily work performance and to explore their perceptions on the reality and efficiency of working hours. 273 public and private kindergarten teachers completed questionnaires. The findings of the study are as follows. First, kindergarten teachers carried out an average of 1.41 duties per a 30-minute segment, and there were some differences in their duties between public and private teachers. Second, as a key reason of their lack of preparation time for class, public teachers indicated much administrative work, whereas private teachers indicated many events and common work. In addition, for the work duties that require supporting staff, public teachers pointed out clerical work, whereas private teachers named event-related duties. Third, in terms of efficiency of their working hours, both public and private teachers highlighted excessive workload as a key obstacle; public teachers also indicated the shortage of supporting staff, while private teachers indicated many event-related duties and lack of directors' leadership. These findings imply that it is important to maintain an optimum level of workload for kindergarten teachers, to secure preparation time for class, to increase work efficiency, and to provide support specific to kindergarten types.
The purpose of this study is to identify the recognition and utilization of health information by acquisition channels for preliminary and elderly people. For the survey data of 200 people aged 55 to 64 and 200 seniors aged 65 or older, the chi-square test and Fisher's precision test were performed using MINITAB17. Although the two age groups were similar in obtaining health information through health professionals, preliminary elderly were more likely to obtain health information through mass media and Internet sites. In particular, the collection of health information through internet sites was more than four times higher than that of the elderly. While the preliminary people focused on searching the information on the health care and prevention, older people explored comprehensive information on health, including disease prevention and treatment, through each channel. Both groups showed positive recognition about the acquired health information. The results of this study confirmed that all channels, including internet sites, can be usefully used in the delivery of health-related information to the elderly in the future. In addition, it is suggested to consider age characteristics and health information utilized by each channel in the development of various contents for the improvement of self-health management of the elderly.
In this study, the hygiene control status of meals for the elderly was investigated for the elderly care facilities, communal living families, and day care centers, which are members of the Cheongju Social Welfare Food Management Support Center, and the improvement of food hygiene management was compared and analyzed to find out the effectiveness of the pilot project after conducting management support such as hygiene education for the elderly and providing related supplies and information. The study found that after the first support, the average score of overall feeding hygiene control increased significantly from 63.13 points (out of 100) to 75.10 points (p<0.001) and from 75.10 points (out of 100) to 80.89 points (p<0.001). After primary support, 16 out of 29 items showed significant differences in average scores in the checklist, and 7 out of 29 after secondary visit support (p<0.05, p<0.01, p<0.001). Based on the effectiveness of the above-mentioned pilot project to support senior citizens' meal service management, more welfare facilities for senior citizens should be continuously supported by the Foodservice Management Support Center.

Early childhood teachers are teachers who take care of and raise infants or children and play a role in providing various care. The purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation between how the positive psychological capital of early childhood teachers affects the behavioral attitude of early childhood teachers through job stress in the COVID-19 situation. This study was conducted through an online survey from October 1st to October 14th, 2021, targeting 220 kindergarten teachers and daycare center teachers. Except for 20 questionnaires such as omission of records, a total of 200 questionnaires were used for the final analysis. As a result of hypothesis verification, first, it was found that self-efficacy and hope among positive psychological capital had an effect on lowering work stress. Second, among positive psychological capital, hope and optimism were found to have an effect on lowering parents' stress. Third, it was found that work stress had a positive effect on turnover intention but a negative effect on loyalty. On the other hand, it was found that parent stress had a positive effect on both turnover intention and loyalty. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that it can be used as basic policy data to help lower the turnover intention of early childhood teachers in the situation of COVID-19.
