수계소화설비용 경량벽 스테인리스 강관의 사용가능성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Possibility of using Light-Wall Stainless Steel Pipe for Water-Based Fire Protection System)

  • 수계소화설비에 사용되고 있는 관으로는 배관용 탄소강관, 압력배관용 탄소강관, 동관 등이 사용되고 있다. 최근 건축물의 고층화, 복합화로 소화설비에는 내식성이 우수하고, 시공성이 간편하며, 가볍고 경제적인 관의 사용이 고려되고 있다. 이러한 특징을 가진 스테인리스 강관과 기존에 사용되고 있는 동관의 물성, 강도, 내식성, 내열성 등의 비교를 통해 스테인리스 강관의 소화설비로의 사용 가능성을 평가하고자 하였다. 그 평가결과로 경량벽 스테인리스 강관인 일반배관용 스테인리스 강관(KS D 3595)은 1.2MPa미만의 압력에서 수계소화설비에 사용될 수 있는 충분한 물성, 강도, 내식성, 내열성 등을 가지고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 오스테나이트계 스테인리스강은 우수한 내식성으로 인해 다양한 산업에 널리 적용되는 재료이다. 그러나 열처리나 용접 실시 후 입계에 크롬 탄화물 생성으로 크롬 결핍대가 형성되어, 입계의 내식성이 상대적으로 취약해지는 문제점이 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 Ti 또는 Nb과 같은 탄소 안정화 원소를 첨가하여 크롬 탄화물 생성을 억제한다. 이러한 안정화된 스테인리스강에 대한 해수환경하에서의 내식성에 관한 연구는 적은 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 안정화 원소(Ti 및 Nb)를 함량 변수로 첨가한 스테인리스강에 대해 해수환경하에서 전기화학적 특성을 평가하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 합금원소 첨가에 따른 미세조직의 변화를 관찰하였으며, 자연전위 측정과 동전위분극 실험을 통해 전기화학적 특성을 파악하였다. 미세조직 관찰 결과, 모든 시편에서 오스테나이트 기지상 이외에 합금원소 첨가에 따른 개재물이 관찰되었다. 이러한 개재물은 기지 조직과 상이한 전기화학적 특성을 가지는 것으로 판단되며, 안정화 원소의 종류 및 함량에 따라 뚜렷한 전기화학적 특성 차이를 나타냈다. 본 연구 결과 오스테나이트계 스테인리스강에 내식성 향상을 위해 첨가되는 Ti 또는 Nb은 첨가량에 따라 서로 다른 전기화학적 특성을 나타내므로, 이를 고려한 합금 설계가 중요할 것으로 사료된다.

  • 원전 발전소 터빈계통을 구성하는 열교환기 튜브는 일반적으로 구리합금, 스테인리스강, 탄소강, 티타늄합금 등의 재질로 제작된다. 이들 재질중에서 페라이트계 type-439 스테인리스강은 자성 재질로서 오스테나이트계보다 더 높은 열전달율 가지며, 부식에 의해 유발되는 결함에 대해 더 높은 저항성을 가진다. 페라이트계 스테인리스강은 보통 발전소 열교환기의 저압급수가열기와 습분분리재열기에 사용된다. 저압급수가열기는 일반적으로 두께가 얇은 type-439 스테인리스강을 이용하는 반면에 습분분리재열기는 더 두꺼운 핀튜브를 사용한다. 이와 같이 터빈 습분분리재열기 튜브로 사용되는 type-439 스테인리스강 핀튜브는 터빈계통의 운전으로 인하여 손상이 발생할 수 있다. 손상에 의한 가장 대표적인 결함은 진동에 의해 발생할 수 있는 마모, 피로균열 등이며 마모성 결함은 일반적으로 튜브-튜브지지판에서 발생되는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 type-439 스테인리스강 자성체 튜브에 발생할 수 있는 결함을 검출하고 크기를 측정할 수 있는 자기포화 와전류탐상검사 기법의 능력을 평가하였다.

플라즈마 절단 후 제작된 용접부의 기계적 특성

  • The influence of surface preparation methods after plasma cutting on the quality of welding zone is investigated. For comparison. three types of welded specimens are prepared by machining(YM), plasma cutting with light regrinding(WPG) and without regrinding(WP), by using three kinds of materials, carbon steel(S45C), stainless steel(Type304) and aluminum alloy (6061-T6). Nondestructive examination, hardness test, microstructure examination, and fracture toughness test are performed. The results show that there is no appreciable reduction in hardness or fracture toughness in WP specimens. But a little difference in heat affected gone size is observed.

페라이트계 스테인리스 강 MAG 용접의 기계적 물성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Mechanical Properties of MAG Weld on Ferritic Stainless Steel Sheets)

  • Ferritic stainless steels have a good heat resistance and economic advantage. They are used for applications such as automotive exhaust systems where resistance to general corrosion is superior to carbon steels. However, there are not enough research for ferritic stainless steels on weldability mainly used as automotive exhaust manifolds. In this study, mechanical and microstructure properties of as-welded STS 429L and STS 444 ferrite stainless steels were confirmed by tensile, bending, hardness test, optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Tensile strength of the STS 444 is higher than the STS 429L when it is a raw material. In contrast to this fact, STS 429L indicated higher tensile strength after butt welded. In addition, the hardness have a increasing tendency as getting down on the bead.

  • The carburising surface modification treatment of the die steel has been used for improving wear resistance and heat cycle strength of the die and preventing a pitting on the surface because the carbides are forming in the matrix during carburising. Generally, the hot forging die was used after quenching-tempering treatment or nitriding after quenching-tempering treatment. The nitriding after carburising on the surface of a hot die steel and a wear resistance die steels was suggested by SOUCHARD, JACQUOT. and BUVRON. This surface modification treatment improved the adhesive and abrasive wear resistance and friction coefficient. The process was introduced to the forging die of stainless steel, titanium alloy steel, alloy and medium carbon steel and the physical properties of the die after the treatment were improved. The surface hardening treatment of the nitriding, the carburising, the boriding, and TD process were used to improved the life time of the forging die. Also, the coating process of PVD, CVD and PCVD were used and the hard chromium plating was occasionally used. Therefore, this study analyzed the effects of the carburising time and the conditions of nitriding on STD61 steel. The case depth, the surface hardness, the forming carbide size and shape during overcarburising process on the die steel were also examined.

지진하중 조건의 비선형 유한요소해석에서 반복경화 거동 고려를 위한 Bi-linear 응력-변형률 곡선 (Bi-linear Stress-Strain Curves for Considering Cyclic Hardening Behavior of Materials in the Nonlinear FE Analysis under Seismic Loading Conditions)

  • This study compares true stress-true strain curves obtained by tensile tests of various piping materials with bi-linear stress-strain approximation suggested in the JSME Code Case(CC) Draft, a guideline for piping seismic inelastic response analysis. Based on the comparisons, the reliability of the bi-linear approximation is evaluated. It is found that bi-linear stress-strain curve of TP316 stainless steel is in good agreement with its true stress-true strain curve. However, Bi-linear stress-strain curves of TP304 stainless steel and carbon steels determined by the approximation cannot appropriately estimate their stress-strain behavior. Accordingly new bi-linear approximations for carbon steels and low-alloy steels are proposed. The proposed bi-linear approximations for carbon and low-alloy steels, which include the temperature effect on strength and hardening of material, estimate their stress-strain behavior reasonably well.

  • The current study evaluated the disinfection efficiency of free chlorine and chloramine for microorganisms on various pipe materials, such as copper, galvanized steel, carbon steel, and stainless steel. In addition, the effect of internal pipe corrosion and corrosion inhibitors on the bactericidal efficiency was evaluated using a simulated loop. For disinfection with a phosphate corrosion inhibitor, chloramination was found to be more effective than chlorination due to its persistence. Free chlorine disinfection was optimized with a high phosphoric acid concentration, while chloramine disinfection was optimized with a high phosphoric acid or low polyphosphate concentration. In simulated copper and galvanized steel loop tests, chloramination with phosphoric acid was demonstrated to be more effective.

용접부의 열처리에 따른 잔류응력의 파양거동에 미치는 영향 (On the Effect of Residual Stress on Fracture Behavior at the Welded Zone According to Annealing Temperature)

  • In this study, a mild steel (SS41) of the carbon steel, a spring steel (SUP-9), and stainless steel (SUS 304) of the special gceel, etc, are adopted as the experimental materrials and are weded by $CO_2$(SS41, SUP-9), TIG (SUS304), respectively. And the residual stress distribution and fracture behavior at the welded zone are examined according to annealing temperatures of four section involving as welded. As a consequence, the best annealing temperatures that the residual stress is removed enough and mechanical properties are very suitable are at 90$0^{\circ}C$ (SS41), 75$0^{\circ}C$ (SUP-9), 110$0^{\circ}C$ (SUS 304), respectively.

Hardness and Corrosion Resistance of Surface Composites Fabricated with Fe-based Metamorphic Powders by High-energy Electron Beam Irradiation

  • Surface composite layers of 1.9~2.9 mm in thickness were fabricated by depositing metamorphic powders on a carbon steel substrate and by irradiating with a high-energy electron beam. In the surface composite layers, 48~64 vol.% of $Cr_{2}B$ or $Cr_{1.65}Fe_{0.35}B_{0.96}$ borides were densely precipitated in the austenite or martensite matrix. These hard borides improved the hardness of the surface composite layer. According to the otentiodynamic polarization test results of the surface composites, coatings, STS304 stainless steel, and carbon steel substrate, the corrosion potential of the surface composite fabricated with 'C+' powders was highest, and its corrosion current density was lowest, while its pitting potential was similar to that of the STS304 steel. This indicated that the overall corrosion resistance of the surface composite fabricated with 'C+' powders was the best among the tested materials. Austenite and martensite phases of the surface composites and coatings was selectively corroded, while borides were retained inside pits. In the coating fabricated with 'C+' powders, the localized corrosion additionally occurred along splat boundaries, and thus the corrosion resistance of the coating was worse than that of the surface composite.
