  • This paper presents the DOD (Drop-On-Demand) characteristic using the electrostatic field induced inkjet printing system. In order to achieve the DOD characteristic of electrostatic field induced inkjet printing, applied the bias voltage of 1.4 kV and the pulse voltage of $2.0\;kV\;{\sim}\;2.7\;kV$ using high voltage pulse generator. Electrostatic field induced droplet ejection is directly observed using a high-speed camera and for investigated DOD characteristic, CNT ink used. The electrostatic field induced inkjet head system has DOD characteristic using pulse generator which can be applied pulse voltage. The bias voltage has a good condition which form meniscus and has micro dripping mode for small size micro droplet. Also, the droplet size decreases with increasing the applied pulse voltage. This paper shows DOD characteristic at electrostatic field induced inkjet head system, Therefore. electrostatic DOD inkjet head system will be applied industrial area comparing conventional electrostatic inkjet head system.

  • Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) are a group of bacteria that can increase plant growth; but due to unfavorable environmental conditions, PGPR are biologically unstable and their survival rates in soil are limited. Therefore, the suitable application of PGPR as a plant growth stimulation is one of the significant challenges in agriculture. This study presents an intelligent formulation based on Bacillus velezensis VRU1 encapsulation enriched with nanoparticles that was able to control Rhizoctonia solani on the bean. The spherical structure of the capsule was observed based on the Scanning Electron Microscope image. Results indicated that with increasing gelatin concentration, the swelling ratio and moisture content were increased; and since the highest encapsulation efficiency and bacterial release were observed at a gelatin concentration of 1.5%, this concentration was considered in mixture with alginate for encapsulation. The application of this formulation which is based on encapsulation and nanotechnology appears to be a promising technique to deliver PGPR in soil and is more effective for plants.

  • The walk-way means a passage installed on the deck of a ship so that a person can safely move under any circumstances. So, the walk-way has to maintain a temperature of $5^{\circ}C$ or more for anti/de-icing even at an ambient temperature of $-62^{\circ}C$, a temperature in polar region. At present, the walk-way with heating cable is used, but the anti/de-icing effect is insufficient due to low heat transfer efficiency. Also, it has a construction problem due to heavy weight. In this study, an walk-way with a CNT surface heating element is proposed for the high anti/de-icing effect and the heating value per unit volume. The international standard survey, conceptual design, and simulation for the structural safety and the heat transfer are performed for the development of the proposed walk-way. To enhance the performance, the case studies based on the simulation analysis are conducted. Finally, the final prototype, applying the optimum material and thickness (3.2t of SS400) based on the case study results, is fabricated and experimented.

  • Based on the service design processes, we examined the market conditions and the criteria to be considered in selecting materials and selected CFRP CNT materials in the development of bicycle design. This material was used to develop frame design among the bicycle parts. The bicycle frame, designed with CFRP CNT material through vibration attenuation testing, tensile strength testing, and stiffness test results before prototype production, shows better results than the bicycle frame manufactured with conventional CNT materials in terms of function.

  • The effects of multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) content, carbon black (CB) content, atmospheric-pressure flame plasma (APFP) treatment, and acid treatment on the mechanical properties of elastomeric composites were investigated. For pure or filled rubbers with the given amount of CB (20 and 40 phr), the tensile strength and modulus of the elastomeric composites increase similarly with the MWCNT content. A composite with APFP-treated MWCNTs shows a hardening effect (high strength, high modulus, and high ductility) unlike the one with untreated MWCNTs. On the other hand, a composite with APFP-treated CB shows a softening effect (high strength, low modulus, and high ductility), which is unlike a composite with untreated CB. As the refluxing time increases from 1 h to 2 h and the sulfuric acid concentration increases from 60% to 90%, the tensile strength and modulus of a composite decrease. Thus, it is found that the MWCNT content, CB content, APFP treatment, sulfuric acid concentration, and refluxing time have an important effect on the mechanical properties of NBR composites.

  • Carbon nanotubes (CNT) has the excellent physical characteristics in the sensor, medicine, manufacturing and energy fields, and it has been studied in those fields for the several years. We fabricated the NOx gas sensors of MOS-FET type using the MWCNT. The fabricated sensor was used to detect the NOx gas for the variation of $V_{gs}$ (gate-source voltage) with the ambient temperature. The gas sensor absorbed the NOx gas molecules showed the decrease of resistance, and the sensitivity of sensor was reduced by the NOx gas molecules accumulated on the MWCNT surface. Furthermore, when the voltage ($V_{gs}$) was applied to the gas sensor, the term of the decrease in resistance was increased. On the other hand, the sensor sensitivity for the injection of NOx gas was the highest value at the ambient temperature of $40^{\circ}C$. We also obtained the adsorption energy ($40^{\circ}C$) using the Arrhenius plots by the reduction of resistance due to the $V_{gs}$ voltage variations. As a result, we obtained that the adsorption energy also was increased with the increasement of the applied $V_{gs}$ voltages.

  • This model is proposed to describe the buckling behavior of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) embedded in an elastic medium taking into account the combined effects of the magnetic field, the temperature, the nonlocal parameter, the number of walls. Using Eringen's nonlocal elasticity theory, thin cylindrical shell theory and Van der Waal force (VdW) interactions, we develop a system of partial differential equations governing the buckling response of CNTs embedded on Winkler, Pasternak, and Kerr foundations in a thermal-magnetic environment. The pre-buckling stresses are obtained by applying airy's stress function and an adjacent equilibrium criterion. To estimate the nonlocal critical buckling load of CNTs under the simultaneous effects of the magnetic field, the temperature change, and the number of walls, an optimization technique is proposed. Furthermore, analytical formulas are developed to obtain the buckling behavior of SWCNTs embedded in an elastic medium without taking into account the effects of the nonlocal parameter. These formulas take into account VdW interactions between adjacent tubes and the effect of terms involving differences in tube radii generally neglected in the derived expressions of the critical buckling load published in the literature. Most scientific research on modeling the effects of magnetic fields is based on beam theories, this motivation pushes me to develop a cylindrical shell model for studying the effect of the magnetic field on the static behavior of CNTs. The results show that the magnetic field has significant effects on the static behavior of CNTs and can lead to slow buckling. On the other hand, thermal effects reduce the critical buckling load. The findings in this work can help us design of CNTs for various applications (e.g. structural, electrical, mechanical and biological applications) in a thermal and magnetic environment.

  • This study evaluated the mechanical and electrical properties of low-cement mortar using a large amount of industrial by-products to reduce carbon emissions from the cement industry. As types of industrial by-products, blast furnace slag and fly ash, which are representative materials, were used, and ultra-high fly ash was mixed and evaluated to solve the problem of initial strength loss. In addition, in order to evaluate the electrical properties, 1% of MWCNT was incorporated relative to the powder mass. As experimental items, the compressive strength was measured on the 1st, 3rd, 7th and 28th days of age, and the rate of change in electrical resistance was measured on the 28th day of age. As a result of the experiment, the initial strength of the test specimen mixed with blast furnace slag and fly ash was significantly lower than that of 100% cement, and the specimen mixed with blast furnace slag showed strength equal to that of cement at 28 days of age. As an electrical characteristic, the electrical resistance was reduced when the load was loaded, and this reason is judged to be the effect of improving the conductivity as the connection between CNTs is narrowed by the compressive load.
