Design and implementation of optical identification system using visible light and infrared

  • In this study, an optical identification system was developed, wherein visible light is used to transmit the interrogating signal, and infrared is used to send the response signal. In the reader, visible light from a light emitting diode (LED) array was modulated via modified pulse width modulation for flicker-free illumination and dimming control. Moreover, the duty factor of the dimming control time was employed to control the illumination from the LED. In the transponder, the spike signal in the output of the high-pass filter was utilized to recover the interrogating signal while preventing interference from the 120-Hz noise from adjacent lighting lamps. The illumination was controlled in 26-86% range of the constant wave LED illumination by changing the duty factor from 20% to 90%. This configuration is advantageous for the construction of optical identification systems for automatic security check and car fare calculation at toll gates or parking facilities.

  • 최근의 항만은 유비쿼터스 환경 구축에 따른 일반적인 항만 관리에 있어 U-Port 서비스를 도입하여 컨테이너 위치 추적 시스템, 항만 터미널 관리 시스템, 선진정보교환시스템 등을 구현하고 있다. 특히, 화물 차량과 컨테이너의 위치 추적 서비스는 실시간으로 화물차량과 컨테이너의 위치와 상태 정보를 제공하여 효율적인 차량 운행 관리와 문제 발생시 즉각적인 대처가 가능하게 한다. 하지만 대규모 항만 내에서 화물 차량의 무질서한 운행이나 주 정차, 도난 파손 사고 출입 관제 등의 문제를 효율적으로 관리하기에는 미흡하다. 본 논문에서는 항만 내에서의 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 자동 게이트 통관 시점부터 항만 내에 화물 차량이 체재하는 동안 차량 또는 출입자의 위치를 전자 지도상에 표시하고, 확인이 필요하거나 사고 발생 지역을 원격에서 영상으로 확인할 수 있는 항만내 차량 또는 출입자의 위치 인식 및 고해상도 영상 압축, AVE/H.264 저장 및 영상 전송을 통한 영상 확인 시스템을 구현하였다.

  • With increasing technology, requirement to car noise and related dynamics are getting competitive keypoint. Unfortunately, vibro - acoustic behavior of a car is nowadays only possible after development of prototypes. But, obviously, in the Area of Research, many of Industrials, Universities and research centers try to codevelop the design tools to predict the vibro-acoustic behaviors. At this stage, it is more realistic to represent the existing technologies in order for the engineer to get their own know-how to design and to Integrate existing techniques, to setup their test facility, and to develope some tools with which they can successfully predict noise levels of car in the design phase. Moreover, most of the theories which will be represented in this paper can be used in the design phase. At any way, finding the cause of trouble shooting is more urgent than the design of a car to the test engineer. In this paper, transfer path analysis, noise source identification, and the key test method of modal analysis is introduced. Later, if I get the opportunity to present in KSNVE, the approach method of modal analysis is introduced. Later, if I get the opportunity to present in KSNVE, the approach method of finding characteristics of joint and welding part will be introduced. Most parts of this paper was quoted from the papers of LMS.

  • This paper represents an identification procedure for leading mechanism of a car A/V system which is composed of a DC motor and a set of plastic gears. In addition, we studied dominant noise source of rattle noise generated by external forced vibration as a car drives. we made a dynamometer to produce stationary operation on loading mechanism of A/V system because noise generated by actual loading mechanism is non-stationary signal. operating the dynamometer setup at various motor speeds, sound pressure spectra are measured and the results are analyzed. its dominant noise source is also identified by using a sound Intensity technique. we made use of multi-dimensional spectral analysis to rind a dominant rattle noise. this method is so useful to eliminate coherence between vibration sources and helps us obtain coherent output spectrum of individual vibration source which make a rattle noise.

  • 보관 중인 제품의 정확한 위치를 파악하는 것이 창고관리의 필수적인 요소이다. 그러나 제품이 빈번하게 위치를 변경하며 보관되는 경우에는 그 위치 파악이 어렵게 되며 이로 인해 효율적 창고관리가 불가능해진다. 본 논문에서는 임베디드 시스템과 무선 랜을 이용하여, 이러한 이동성이 높은 재고단위(SKU : Stock Keeping Unit)의 창고 내 위치관리에 응용할 수 있는 새로운 시스템을 제안한다. 시스템은 RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification)와 관리 단말기, 모바일 기기인 휴대폰과 PDA 그리고 중앙 관리 시스템으로 구성된다. 시스템의 사례로 이동성이 높은 재고단위의 모델인 대형 중고자동차의 위치관리시스템을 선택하였으며, 시스템이 운용되는 각 부서의 업무를 분석 후 기능별로 구현하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 무선 랜이 접목된 임베디드 시스템이 이동성 높은 재고단위의 입출고 상황과 창고 내에서의 위치를 실시간 적으로 정확하게 파악할 수 있어, 창고의 운영 및 관리를 체계적으로 처리할 수 있음을 보인다.

  • In this paper, the identification of connections for a vibration system has been presented using FRF-based substructural sensitivity analysis. The substructural design sensitivity formula is derived and plugged into a commercial optimization program, MATLAB, to identify connection stiffness of an air-conditioner system of passenger car. The air-conditioner system, composed of a compressor and a bracket is analyzed by using FRF-based substructural(FBS) method. To obtain the FRFs, FE model is built for the bracket, and the impact hammer test is performed for the compressor. Obtained FRFs are combined to calculate the reaction force at the connection point and the system response. Connection element properties are determined by minimizing the difference between a target FRF and calculated one. It is shown that the proposed identification method is effective even for a real problem.

A drive-by inspection system via vehicle moving force identification

  • This paper presents a novel method to carry out monitoring of transport infrastructure such as pavements and bridges through the analysis of vehicle accelerations. An algorithm is developed for the identification of dynamic vehicle-bridge interaction forces using the vehicle response. Moving force identification theory is applied to a vehicle model in order to identify these dynamic forces between the vehicle and the road and/or bridge. A coupled half-car vehicle-bridge interaction model is used in theoretical simulations to test the effectiveness of the approach in identifying the forces. The potential of the method to identify the global bending stiffness of the bridge and to predict the pavement roughness is presented. The method is tested for a range of bridge spans using theoretical simulations and the influences of road roughness and signal noise on the accuracy of the results are investigated.

  • In this paper, time-frequency analysis and multi-dimensional spectral analysis methods are applied to source identification and diagnostic of non-stationary sound vibration signals. By checking the coherences for concerned time, this simulation is very well coincident to expected results. The proposed method analyzes the signal instantaneously in both time and frequency domains. The MDSA (Multiple Dimensional Spectral Analysis) analyzes the signal in the plane of instantaneous time and instantaneous frequency at the same time. And it was verified by using the 1500cc passenger car which is accelerated from 70Hz to 95Hz in 4 seconds, the proposed method is effective in determining the vehicle diagnostic problems.

  • 심전도(ECG, electrocardiogram) 신호를 이용한 본인 인증기술은 기존의 바이오 인증을 대체할 수 있는 본인 인증기술로 주목받고 있다. 디지털 전자키를 인식하는 장치를 차량에 탑재하여 자동차와 무선으로 데이터를 송수신할 수 있게 하고, 스마트폰 등을 활용해 자동차의 차 문을 잠금 또는 해제하거나, 시동을 걸 수 있는 기능을 스마트폰을 통해 차량 제어할 수 있다. 그러나 스마트키는 보안에 취약하여 이를 해결하고 운전자의 편의성을 제공하기 위해 바이오 인증기술을 적용한 스마트키를 연구하였다. 심전도를 이용한 개인인증 알고리즘을 시계 형태의 웨어러블 디바이스에 탑재하여 바이오인증을 하고 개인인증이 완료되면 자동차의 스마트키 기능을 할 수 있었다. 인증율 95%를 달성하였다. 운전자는 스마트키를 소지할 필요가 없고, 분실 및 해킹에 안전하게 보호할 수 있는 대안으로 스마트키를 제안한다. 심전도를 이용한 개인 인증기술을 활용한 스마트키는 개인인증을 통해 다양한 분야에 적용이 가능하고 향후 심전도를 이용한 본인확인 장치 등에 적용할 수 있는 방법을 연구할 계획이다.

Numerical investigation of the influence of structures in bogie area on the wake of a high-speed train

  • The flow around a high-speed train with three underbody structures in the bogie area is numerically investigated using the improved delayed detached eddy simulation method. The vortex structure, pressure distribution, flow field structure, and unsteady velocity of the wake are analyzed by vortex identification criteria Q, frequency spectral analysis, empirical mode decomposition (EMD), and Hilbert spectral analysis. The results show that the structures of the bogie and its installation cabin reduce the momentum of fluid near the tail car, thus it is easy to induce flow separation and make the fluid no longer adhere to the side surface of the train, then forming vortices. Under the action of the vortices on the side of the tail car, the wake vortices have a trend of spanwise motion. But the deflector structure can prevent the separation on the side of the tail car. Besides, the bogie fairings do not affect the formation process and mechanism of the wake vortices, but the fairings prevent the low-speed fluid in the bogie installation cabin from flowing to the side of the train and reduce the number of the vortices in the wake region.
