곤파스 태풍에 대한 가설 중 사장교의 버페팅 응답 평가 (Evaluation of buffeting responses of a cable stayed bridge in construction during typhoon Kompasu)

  • 본 논문에서는 콘크리트 사장교 가설 중 태풍 곤파스 내습시 교량에 설치된 계측 장비들의 측정된 데이터를 이용하여 난류스펙트럼과 고유진동수를 분석하였다. 현장조건을 반영한 업데이트된 해석모델로 버페팅해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과는 SRSS조합으로 응답을 산정하여 주탑의 가속도 응답과 계측된 가속도 응답을 평가하였다. 버페팅해석 결과는 전반적으로 해석결과와 유사한 경향을 보였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 강사장교의 극한강도 및 파괴모드를 간략하게 예측할 수 있는 간단하고 빠른 해석법을 제안하였다. 기존의 비탄성 고유치해석의 기본 개념을 바탕으로 기둥 요소에 대한 수렴 기준을 보였고, 사장교 구조 시스템의 거더 및 주탑 요소에서 보-기둥 거동을 고려하기 위한 새로운 수렴 기준을 제시하였다. 제시된 방법의 타당성 검증을 위하여 중앙경간 길이와 거더의 높이를 변화시킨 강사장교 모델에 대하여 제안된 비탄성 고유치 해석과 비선형 탄소성 해석 결과를 비교하였다. 해석 결과, 제안된 수렴 기준을 적용한 비탄성 고유치 해석은 기존에 기둥의 수렴기준을 적용했던 방법에 비하여 강사장교의 극한강도를 보다 정확히 예측할 수 있었다. 또한, 제안된 방법은 강사장교의 파괴모드 역시 근사하게 모사 가능함을 알 수 있었다.

  • Artificial neural networks(ANN) have been exploited where the relationship among information is very complicated and nonlinear. It is appropriate to computerize the information and knowledge used in the preliminary design stage where it lacks of formality of representation of designers' experience and intuition. However, most designers start the preliminary design stage with very little information. Therefore, the ANN model for this stage must be designed to have input much less than output. This case usually causes big troubles such as in learning time, convergence and reliability of solutions. To address this problem, this paper proposes multi-level neural networks for progressive structural design considering that all the design information can not be obtained at a time but are growing gradually. The use of multi-level networks developed in this paper has been proved its validity by applying it to the preliminary design of cable-stayed bridges.

  • Guss asphalt used in pavement of a steel deck bridge may cause severe stress and displacement on the bridge as it is treated using very high temperatures ranging from $220^{\circ}C$ to $260^{\circ}C$. Therefore, it is critical to estimate the thermal effect of Guss asphalt on the steel deck bridge before the width and pattern of the unit portion are decided to minimize impact. In this study, introduce a new analysis method styled the Heat source of equivalent of the cable stayed bridge were conducted to verify the feasibility of numerical value analysis by comparing the results with the data measured. The thermal effects of Guss asphalt on the steel deck bridge according to temperature changes were also studied.

장대 사장교 콘크리트 주탑의 풍동실험 연구 (Wind Tunnel Testing of a Concrete Pylon for Long Span Cable-Stayed Bridge)

  • Wind tunnel tests and analyses of the response of the concrete pylon for the Seo Han Grand Bridge were conducted using aeroelastic model technique. A 1/250 scale aeroelastic model was used to measure the responses of the pylon at the several critical locations and to find any possible vibrational behavior. In order to confirm the model design and fabrication, natural frequencies and mode shapes measured from the model were compared with those from the calculation. Tests were conducted under the various angles ranging from $0^{\circ}$ to $90^{\circ}$ to find the critical angle of the wind. In order to evaluate the sensitivity of the response to changes in structural damping, a series of tests were conducted with two different values of structural damping such as 0.2% and 1.0% of critical. Additional tests were also conducted considering construction sequence.

  • Now a days, the fabrication and election skills have improved in Korea. Due to taking the vertical clearance and a point of beauty, the election of the suspension and the cable-stayed bridges whose span length can be lengthened have been increased. Accordingly, there are link areas between the bridges by cables and other bridges. These dynamic behaviors are different from others. When the vehicles and trains run on the link area, the member force and the fatigue behavior which are occurred to the structure have different values depend on the velocity. On this paper, we analyze the bridge behavior by means of the tine history analysis depend on to velocity, the number of vehicles, single and double way.

  • 세그먼트 자중 등에 의한 휨모멘트와 케이블 수직압축력에 의한 합성응력이 발생되고 바닥판 경간비가 변하는 사장교의 시공단계에서는 전단지연의 영향범위가 다를 수 있다. 이 연구에서는 1면 케이블 콘크리트 박스 사장교를 대상으로 시공단계시 보강형에 고려되어야 할 합성응력에 의한 유효플랜지폭을 분석하였다. 그 결과 바닥판 경간비가 0.38 이하의 범위에서 보강형의 전폭을 유효플랜지폭으로 적용할 수 있는 것으로 해석되었다. 따라서 시공단계시 변화되는 바닥판 경간비의 크기에 관계없이 전폭을 유효플랜지폭으로 반영하는 실무관행은 안전측 설계가 되지 못할 수 가 있다. 바닥판 경간비가 작아짐에 따라서는 전폭과 캔틸레버 구조계로 유효플랜지폭을 결정하는 것이 타당하다. 이 연구에서는 수직력에 대한 도로교설계기준의 유효플랜지폭 규정에 대한 평가도 수행하였다.

Numerical simulation of the effect of section details and partial streamlining on the aerodynamics of bridge decks

  • Presented herein is a numerical study for evaluating the aerodynamic behaviour of equipped bridge deck sections. In the first part, the method adopted is described, in particular concerning turbulence models, meshing requirements and numerical approach. The validation of the procedure represents the aim of the second part of the paper: the results of the numerical simulation in case of two-dimensional, steady, incompressible, turbulent flow around a realistic bridge deck are compared to the data collected from wind-tunnel tests. In order to demonstrate the influence of the section details and of the partial streamlining of the deck geometry on its aerodynamic behaviour, in the third part of the paper the effect of the fairings and of each item of equipment of the section (such as central barriers, side railings and sidewalks) is evaluated. The study has been applied to the deck section of the Normandy cable-stayed bridge.

A new experimental technique on the tubular joints of spatial grid structures

  • A new experimental technique was developed on the plate-inserted welded tubular joints of spatial grid structures. In the experimental technique, a microcomputer controlling instrument of moire intervention (MCIMI) was adopted. A test was designed on the plate-inserted welded tubular joints of spatial grid structures to show the effectiveness of the MCIMI technique. Both traditional electrical measuring technique and MCIMI technique were employed in the test. The test results showed that the MCIMI technique was feasible in the case of the complicated tests on steel structures. The MCIMI technique not only implemented the limitation of traditional electrical measuring technique, but also improved the accuracy of the test. According to the test results, we further examined the plate-inserted welded tubular joints in the cable-stayed spatial grids of the Binhai International Convention & Exhibition in Tianjin, China. The analysis showed the joints are safely designed with adequate conservatism. The research provided a new application of MCIMI in the field of large-scale structure engineering.

  • As the testing instrument for seismic research, the multi-platform shaking table system of SESTEC in the Pusan National University was introduced to suggest the multi-support shaking table testing methods and also to investigate its ability and applicability. 2 spans single-pylon cable-stayed bridge model, 3 spans girder bridge model and nuclear piping system model are presented and the acceleration and displacement table feedbacks of the each tests are compared to verify the simultaneous excitation ability in time domain and frequency domain.
